How Ruto lied to Kenyans about Raila excluding cost of living in fake joint statement: The damage Ruto has done to Raila with propaganda since 2018

This past weekend the press received what they were made to believe was a joint statement by both the Ruto regime and Azimio. And they rushed to release that information to the anxious public. The contents of which sent shockwaves right across the country to long suffering Kenyans.

Missing in the agenda were all the key points of great concern to a vast majority of Kenyans. For instance it was reported that both sides had agreed that opposition to the controversial Finance Bill 2023 “should be decided in court” where it is being challenged.

As it turned out that so-called statement was deception from the Ruto administration. Cleverly designed to take the momentum out of the wide-spread protests that have been ongoing. And more importantly to turn the love and trust Kenyans have in Raila Odinga and Azimio into hate.

It was all propaganda, a specialty of William Samoei Ruto and UDA that they embarked on when Ruto launched his campaign for the presidency. Indeed it was most effective in fighting the Building Bridges Initiative and in making the then President Uhuru Kenyatta very unpopular in his own Mount Kenya backyard.

Indeed there are those who would argue that this "massive fraud" is exactly what Kenyans received on August 2022, instead of the presidential election results they were expecting. In which case it is hardly surprising that deception and fraud have continued to rule and dominate the Kenyan landscape and its' politics culminating in what happened last weekend.

Propaganda has long been a tool used by leaders around the world to shape public opinion and maintain their power. African leaders, including President Ruto, are no exception to this trend. The use of propaganda in politics can be attributed to several factors.

Firstly, propaganda allows leaders to control the narrative and manipulate public perception. By disseminating carefully crafted messages, they can shape public opinion in their favor and maintain a positive image. This is particularly important for leaders who do not want to be accountable and know that they will always face criticism and opposition.

Secondly, propaganda can be used as a means of consolidating power and suppressing dissent. By spreading misinformation or deceptive narratives, leaders can undermine their opponents and maintain a stronghold on political power. You will have noticed that Ruto handlers false narrative has remained sharply focused on trying to destroy the character of Raila Odinga, what he stands for, and his excellent credentials of fighting for a better Kenya all his life.

In the case of President Ruto's camp, the claim that Azimio had agreed to the Kenya Kwanza agenda was an example of propaganda taken to an extreme. Such false assertions aim to deceive the public and create confusion among voters.

It is important to note that while propaganda may be effective in the short term, it often comes at the expense of truth and transparency. In order for democracy to thrive, it is crucial for citizens to have access to accurate information and make informed decisions based on facts rather than manipulated narratives.

As the country called Kenya seeks to progress towards greater transparency and accountability, it is terribly important for Kenyans to critically evaluate information presented by political leaders and hold them accountable for any deceptive practices they engage in.

Sadly that will be a tall order for now because Ruto's propaganda has scaled to heights that are unprecedented in these shores. Check out: Are Ruto dirty tricks defeating Raila strategy and experience?

John Jomo succeeded in his prayers to the court and Justice Jairus Ngaah issued an injunction prohibiting the agency from requiring Jomo Kenyatta junior to surrender his pistol without first going through the laid down legal process. But how will the Ruto government respond? Here are a few possible "crazy" scenarios.

Those who saw Hussein Mohamed during his distinguished career as a Citizen TV journalist may be excused for feeling pity for him watching his body language a few hours ago as he fielded a question about Raila's claim that President Ruto invited the Tanzanian president to Kenya to mediate talks between him and Raila Odinga, only to snub her. President Samia Suluhu Hassan then left the country after two nights at a Nairobi hotel waiting in vain.

Mohamed started off laughing nervously when the question was posed. He then followed it up with his shifty answer which hardly made sense.

In just a handful of days, what happened in Nyalenda, Kisumu recently has moved from being highly sensitive to the Ruto government to something being discussed openly. And surprisingly, the international media and community are suddenly leading the discussions and showing great concern.

Raila Odinga in a press conference with the international press in Nairobi yesterday even went on to use the phrase “ethnic cleansing” and made comparisons with similar happenings from the past from all over the world. Read Chris Kumekucha full article
