Rattled William (Ratko) Ruto Reigns on ROW

Ruto is not going down to The Hague without a bruising fight. The battle-ready, warrior and messiah has his eyes and jabs singularly trained on the trio ROW - Raila (as standard), Omar and Waki.

The drama has been unparallelled the whole week. The coincidence in HEROIC homecoming from The Hague and guns blazing with bullets aimed at the head of one Hassan Omar was textbook Kanu parading evidence to advance a mission. Add that to both Rono and Wekesa disowning KNHRC and spitting in the face of perjury charges and you get an original script from an incompetent spin doctor willfully leading her client to the slaughter by the leash.

Ratko Ruto did a splendid job and saved ICC plenty of resources by presenting himself to be ICC officials for a close and candid study, dissecting his personal demeanour, credibility, language and guilt. The TRIBAL siege mentality Ratko is working overdrive to craft with a hope of making his indictment politically untenable is no brainier for ICC. Hon Ratko is better advised to stick to Raila and forget blaming small fish like Omar

The phrase dancing yourself lame before the real music starts must have been coined with Hon William Ruto in mind. Thanks to Ruto, Kenyans are reliving the Kanu theatrics of yore. And just how much ground of deceit can one cover in a week of political polemics? Well, we haven't seen the last act from the MP for Eldoret North.

Kenyans are better advised to brace themselves for more Ronos and Wekesas who have come out to disown dream lives of luxury without telling us the BUYING PRICE. You just don't trash freebies of KES 60,00 a month and a fully furnished three bed roomed accommodation in leafy suburbs for press headlines, or do you? Only in Kenya do we fall for such gimmicks.

Ruto did not need the trip to The Hague to reinvent himself. His spin doctors must be working overdrive to keep the cheques coming and remain relevant before the owl is unmasked revealing the feathers that he is presently disguising as horns. A lie repeated in total brinkmanship and bravado never mutates into truth, or does it?

Porous shield
For starters, ICC will do their own investigations and all the present heat on KNHRC is a charade at beast and a decoy meant to divert at attention at worst. Rono and Wekesa appear to be blinded with the present money taps so much so that they have become oblivious if the legal chopping block they are inadvertently placing their dead necks on. The cause of the present fallout has been reduced to typical Kenyan unmet promise of land, money and scholarships. Well, ICC is not our local courts and that is why many Kenyans preferred it from the word go.

Behind Ruto's hyperactivity lies the big nasty political plot that will hit Kenyans like a thunderbolt. The real owners of Kenya have had a glimpse of ICC fangs and claws and tehy are running really scared. Ruto is not alone and is merely testing waters for the real shakers who don't have the guts to face their demons. Make no mistake, 2012 is only 13 months away and the suspects are ganging behind their tribal walls to scare and frustrate justice. Well, they are swimming in uncharted waters and time is not on their side.

The tribal warlords are all out to sabotage ICC but tough luck. We are in a new Kenya and their expertise of trying to fit old wine in new wine skins will backfire big time. Individuals committed crimes and not communities and ICC knows it better. The later may only provide porous shields until Ocampo's spear comes for the hearts of the former.

Drowning Ruto Opts for the Samson Option

Update: Empty political showboating
Ruto's spin doctors have defrauded him big time and he must demand a full refund. The political showboating that was cleverly crafted to deflect public attention has succeeded in doing the exact opposite. First Ruto did not meet ICC chief prosecutor Luis Moreno-Ocampo who was in London when Ruto visited The Hague and his evasive and contemptuous answer to the press (Taxi operator reference) was proof enough.

The Eldoret North MP would have saved his money by meeting the ICC team already in Kenya. The propaganda coup has backfired and Ruto has lent more credence to his impeding indictment after unwittingly showing his hand out of naivety and self-guilt.He derided ICC to be toothless until 2090 and his outburst on Waki Commission's report and KNHRC is the sturdy rope his neck desperately needed.
There is nothing more powerful than the voices of the dead crying to the almighty from the ground. Remember the Cane and Abel saga in the good book? The truth of the matter in Kenya is that there are tons of Kenyans crying for justice. The post election troubles of 2008 claimed close to 5000 souls (Kumekucha figures) although official figures claim slightly above 600. The vast majority of these souls were innocent. And that is not counting all the innocent Kenyans before that who were sent to an early grave courtesy of one Jomo Kenyatta and Daniel arap Moi. Or the ones who were denied being brought up by a father.

God also says in his good book that vengeance is his. Not that the down-trodden of Kenya would have any means of exacting their own revenge.
This is the only way I can begin to understand what seems to be unfolding before our very eyes on the Kenyan political scene. It is all too shocking to fanthom. And yet it is happening.

Firstly the political class in broad daylight enthusiastically passed a constitution that would put them in serious trouble (as is already beginning to happen). It is important to note that those in our political class are many things BUT they are NOT fools. Indeed some of the most intelligent, smart and best educated Kenyans are in politics today. It still beats me how nobody in this bunch of smarts saw that passing the new constitution would come back to haunt them big time. I honestly couldn’t believe my eyes when the likes of George Saitoti so enthusiastically drummed up support for the new katiba. Just watch what happens next to the good old professor. HINT:- plenty of skeletons will emerge from the man’s closet.

Political showboating
Now even before we can analyze all the drama unfolding in Kenya at the moment with big shots falling like dominoes as their colleagues shake uncontrollably in their boots wondering where the axe is going to fall next, a totally unexpected twist has been thrown into the mix. Eldoret North legislator who was right inside the engine room of trouble when the post election violence of early 2008 broke, has chosen to bare all to the ICC. Effectively Ruto (with the help of his lawyers) spent the marathon sessions recently with the chief prosecutor Luiz Moreno Ocampo delivering damning evidence against the two principals. In effect Ruto’s defense is that he was only reluctantly following instructions from his superiors who are guiltier than he is.

If you are sitting there thinking that the two principals will sit and let events take their own course then you have another think coming. One of the very valuable pieces of evidence in the possession of one of the principals are recordings of cell phone conversations Ruto made with others on the ground during the violence. These kind of recordings are not admissible in a court of law in Kenya, however the ICC is something else and these are the kind of recordings that Ocampo would love to get his hands on.

Then there are the court cases now rapidly catching up with Ruto. Indeed the way things are going Ruto could be behind bars long before we hear from the ICC. Which would imply that Ruto knowing that he was going down opted not to go down alone but bring down everybody else with him, especially the high and mighty (namely the two principals who seem to have given instructions that his court cases now proceed with speed).

Fascinating stuff guys. Terribly fascinating stuff.

Brave Ruto Panics, Calls The Hague Bluff

Naive or brave? Well call is courage, panic or whatever you fancy but Hon William Samoei arap Ruto has rattled both Kenya and the The Hague. After deriding ICC as irrelevant and snail-paced to act (remember 100 years?), Ruto has taken the battle right to Ocampo's doorstep and in its wake left all the PEV's suspects shaking in their boots like leaves at the mercy of ferocious desert gales.

That Ruto caught all and sundry by surprise is not debatable. And he could not have struck at a better time in his political life when he has no CABINET BAGGAGE which would have demanded clearance before booking a date with Moreno and his sleuths in The Netherlands.

Either Ruto is trailblazing in tilting/setting Kenya's political agenda or being plainly naive by attempting to preempt the inevitable. True to the adage either the guilty are very afraid or the brave chat their won paths. Take you pick. Either way Bill has left the other suspects with little room to wiggle. They must come out of the closet and publicly declare their stand, no two ways about it.

You can only imagine the impending political inferno if Ruto chooses to go SUICIDAL (security in numbers) with some PENTAGON minutes, either real or not. Spice that up with the unsettling fact that senior security officers have written to Ocampo vowing never to take responsibility for orders that came from the GOVERNMENT.

The recipe you get is a mix that leaves every politician sneezing and the stomach rubbling. Meanwhile they are left groping in the dark with Ocampo's sledgehammer lurking in the shadows. The Hague Express has gathered full steam and there is no disembarking. Nobody is safe. And what was that gimmick about AU resolution not to submit to the ICC again? NA BADO!!

Hague Express: Paid-up Passengers Boarding

Who let the elephant (Moreno Ocampo) back into the house?Ticket holders in the name of supporters, funders, organisers and perpetrators of post election violence have today began the final leg of the journey aboard the train to the waiting jail cells at the Hague.

This must surely be Justice Waki's moment of triumph. Without a doubt, Waki's infamous list will be expanded, expounded and finally revealed. Nobody just wakes up one day and begins to hack their neighbour with a machete. The prosecutor must have found this point intriguing, leading him to declare that Kenya must be made a world example of managing violence

Deliberate, focused and impartial investigations will reveal that the ground is levelled and ripe for prosecuting both organs of state and spontaneous acts of ordinary criminality. surely justice delayed is not justice denied.

But wait a minute, we are independent and sovereign. True, we may be used to blackouts, floods and famine but still we have pride even after begging for alms. And who said you cant sink your teeth into the very hands feeding you? Welcome Prof Moreno, make the kings of impunity shake and dissolve inside their boots.

America Must Let Kenya Bleed Herself Dead

So US foreign secretary Hilary Clinton has arrived and even before opening her mouth Kenya is the recipient of all barbs. Already Johnnie Carson is breathing fire and brimstone. The good ex-envoy to Nairobi is wielding the proverbial big stick singling our Wako and Aaron Ringera for thrashing.

Clinton will come, kick all the dust, generate all the heat and leave us with no light. And the bogeyman Carson must not belittle the world-renown lawyer Wako whose unique and sharp intellect Kenya has been lucky to enjoy for close to two decades. Johnnie needs to ask East Timorese what a brilliant legal mind Wako is before he suffers the wrath of permanent smile.

By attacking Ringera, America is becoming a global activist serving the interest of our numerous selfish NGOs. The dragon slayer is one smart lawyer whose Shakespearean pedigree is unrivalled. Show me any more qualified Judge speaking the right language to replace Ringera and I will show you a dreaming Waki.

Our own PORK
For goodness sake the K in KACC is for Kenya and not Kansas. And the ex-junior senator of New York must not act as Obama’s catapult to vomit on our lawns. We are a sovereign country and we can butcher ourselves all the much we care and only us can stop that not POTUS nor Hilary. We have our won intellectual PORK.

The West's obsession with so-called Agenda Four is nauseating. Four comes after three and we have no Agenda Five, so why the hullaballoo? We will tackle REFORMS at our own pace and we won't allow ourselves to be pushed nor please anybody. Kenya has its owners and the tenants including the enveoys must know their legal limitations.

TJRC is originally ours and we won’t modify to please global bullies, NEVER. The Friday cabinet meeting will be used to drive the point home and leave pretenders to power holding the political bathtub without the baby. NA BADO.

Hilary Clinton Keep Off, Kenya is Sovereign

By marshaling thee hitherto divided cabinet to unanimously endorse no Hague no local tribunal, President Kibaki has shown unique leadership from front and example. Hilary Clinton must know that Kenya is sovereign and stop spreading Obama’s lies that we are corrupt.

Acts of neocolonialism as propagated by Human Rights Watch must be resisted at all costs and with all might. The international NGO HRW is trying to sneak in Professor Alston’s hatred for Wako and Major Ali. We saw it before and rejected their innuendos and we will reject it again.

Wako is Kenya’s longest serving AG and with his impressive global CV, Kibaki couldn’t ask for a more able legal mind with a permanent smile to match. We know our murderers and we are well placed to deal with them without Ocampo's theatrics. We cannot afford to indignity of hanging a future president out to dry.

Obama must stop visiting shame upon us via catapult. He snubbed us last month and Clinton must not assume the proxy role to insult our national pride. Let Jonnie Carson go nostalgic and visit the Mara. Shame on Speaker Marende for inviting foreigners to help us solve problems we have lived comfortably with since independence and more so after the unfortunate 2007 election.

There are numerous ways of skinning a cat and provided you don’t sit on it hence risking lethal claws on your rear side, the job’s end justifies the means. Smart President Kibaki and the cabinet outwitted hostile MPs by showing the mob who the boss is. The rest of Kenyans must learn to take five course meal marinated in obtuse contempt. It never constipates.

The Hague Watch: Impunity Seeking Immunity

Nothing exemplifies a failed state better than a fractious cabinet. Here we have one theoretical cabinet with three camps of preferences: The Hague, local tribunal with powers to try anyone (read no sacred cows/immunity) and the latest kid on the block TJRC. It couldn’t get any spicier.

Impunity begets nothing but more impunity. We sowed it and must reap the bloody fruits. The three options clearly indicate the variants of selfish interest each group prefers with the intention of fixing perceived and real political opponents. The NOBODY-MOVES-NOBODY-GETS-HURT mentality is a selfishly smart scheme with all eyes singularly trained on magical 2012. Power to the moneyed.

Going in circles only succeed in making you dizzy. So now we are back to where Annan left us by declaring that the government is committed to undertaking ACCELERATED and far-reaching reforms as spelt out in Agenda Four. Play another original tune please!

The present costly pretence amounts to motions with no intention to cause any movement. We can as well enjoy the beauty of every floor on our way down from the top oblivious of the hard pavement (read 2012) waiting to crack our collective skull. Make no mistake January 2013 will be bloody and messy.

Only scoundrels seek complicated solutions to simple problems. The creators of 2007 mess wont own up neither will they give up. They had a mission they have to accomplish and no amount of pressure or blood will make them halt. And they have cleverly roped us in when we now join them in discussing the effects with no mention of the CAUSE.

Impunity-immunity tango dance
Living a national lie may never kill but the cost is incalculable. Give it to President Kibaki in leading from the front when he reprimands nosy journalist by shamelessly declaring that nobody has abandon the pursuit of local tribunal because that imagining was never created in the first place.

The standards of ICC are very clear. The present circular games will no wash. Whether we go local tribunal or Hague, the bar is raised and seekers of immunity and power of clemency have no place to hide. The guilty are afraid and who is scared to being stripped of immunity?

Mutula promised one Moreno Ocampo that Kenya will set up a credible judicial mechanism. What is more, the High Court option peddled by the cabinet is outside Waki’s recommendations of the Waki Commission. Both ways the noose is tightening and the dithering only succeeds in massaging egos.

Once you lose the moral authority, you never regain with fiat or bravado. The cabinet is rudderless and they know it. The fractious bunch are only fooling themsleves in attempt to circumvent an equally hostile parliament.

In the meantime the clock is ticking fast and furiously to 2012. Ole wetu, NA BADO.

Hague Express Watch:Migingo Going To Court

International court season is here in full swing. The corridors of justice in Netherlands never anticipated they would be this busy playing host to contingents of East Africans seeking to settle human rights and real estate disputes all in the same year.

Now that Uganda is going to the Hague because of us, Kenya will be making a second appearance at the International Courts this time on the grounds of being a bad neighbour reneging on a joint survey agreement with our East African brothers. Hague prosecutors will happily switch sides both for and against Kenya depending on whether post election violence trials or Kenya v Uganda lands first in the docket

Political Mileage
Contrary documentation not withstanding, the populist remark made by President Kibaki during his Narc-nostalgic magic tour of Nyanza last week has shown the landlocked relative that Kenya is finally ready to lead from the front and by example on the unresolved matter of the island's true ownership even if the statement made was only for extra political mileage

The appointed Ugandan survey team has to be forgiven for postponing the start of the joint exercise to seek further consultations beforehand while the Kenyan team went ahead and made a start on the same assuming that such an important survey would have to have a preliminarily report carried out before the main course begun

Kenyans ever increasing faith in the Hague as the just and independent arbiter to help resolve disputes future is set to get a further big boost with this latest twist in the two countries ownership disagreement.

Never underestimate the power of FISH sourced fresh from Migingo and served under tent in Bondo. Yote Yawezekana na Hague in all her shades, border disputes and ICC.

Hague Express Watch: The Guilty Very Afraid

Ex-Naivasha MP Jayne Kihara has registered herself at the Hague reception. So who is next? Just what Annan ordered, PANIC galore. In its wake panic leaves the guilty crawling out of the woodwork without prompting. The last few days have seen politicians make U-turns from brinkmanship to evangelistic commiseration.

But make no mistake, Kibaki is in full control and will never allow his legacy to be tarnished as the president who auctioned Kenya to ICC, never. Kibaki is not naive to tighten the noose around the neck of his trusted lieutenants. Ocampo will have to wait for a very long time after clearing numerous smokescreens conveniently erected to distract him.

Justice Waki maybe no saint but at least he clinically diagnosed our deceptive modus operandi and cleverly disabused us of its twin vices both dolled in FRAUD. Imagine if Waki undertook the ritual just like numerous commissions before him and handed over his findings and dreaded THE ENVELOPE to the appointing authority.

The contents would have been trashed and the scoundrels would have engage super gear in looting Kenya secure in the knowledge that the coast is clear. As for now all the hitherto escape routes are firmly sealed and the music is far from being pleasant.

Ocampo’s raging fire and brimstone may just be the dreaded sword of domacles that will whip us into shape. Alternatively our legendary scoundrels may as well give both Moreno and Annan the open cheque to write history with Kenya as a case study. The blood from Naivasha and Kiamba are crying for revenge from 6ft under.

Self-registration
We owe Waki plenty. Mark you were he not for fighting for his own integrity, this is one Justice Ringera had condemned to judicial oblivion during his platitudinous radical surgery. At least we have the envelope to thank Waki for, what about the dragon slayer Aaron?

One thing is clear and predictable. The murderers won’t go down alone and not in silence. Solomonic wisdom will come in handy at the theatre of political guillotine – I DID IT FOR THE BOSS.

We haven’t seen anything yet, the heat is one, the temperatures are suffocating and the chopping block is smartly laid. NA BADO.

Hague Express Watch: The Centre Cannot Hold

Martha Karua saw it and shouted GENOCIDE the loudest. And nobody can credibly fault her given all the insider knowledge accumulated in between her ears. The cabinet must be sorely missing the iron lady’s wits and guts. Just look at rudderless PNU’s gerrymandering.

The arrival of one Moreno Ocampo has changed Kenya’s political equation forever. All the bravado and brinkmanship are no more. The heat is on, the temperature boiling and with every new day the noose gets tighter around the necks of the scoundrels.

Make no mistake, President Kibaki is in total control. Just as he saved Kenya from stewing in her own blood, Kibaki will deftly but COMPETENTLY pull through this ICC crisis. His fierce patriotism will not allow him to abuse his oath of office by surrendering our sovereignty, NEVER.

What is more, Kibaki and PNU have the victim on a leash. They know too well that the ICC does not prosecute REGULAR acts of criminality which his opponents wrongfully yap about. State shooting of protesters and isolated cases extra-judicial regional killings is just proof of who has the monopoly of violence.

Last laugh
The ICC does not interfere nor investigate organs of state used to beat into shape unruly citizens. Killing, shooting to maim and tormenting citizens is an exclusive right of any regime worth its name.

ICC will find ready and incontrovertible evidence in our streets of Kabila adui, Madoadoa and Sangari. Moreno will be ruled out of order if he tries to delve into cause and effects. He must listen and act on the heat chasing the rat while the house is on fire.

The rioters shot dead from behind by police is a local matter. Moreno must act swiftly to protect those who shout loudest lest they break our eardrums. They have the number and the power to twist justice in their favour. They will have the last and longest laugh, game on.

Hague Express and the Tale of Two Envelopes

Annan has called Kenya bluff. The Hague engine is revving and pretenders are torn between the façade of plastic sovereignty and refusing the local tribunal. Well, you can never bake your cake and gobble it, or can you?

Kofi Annan must have witnessed firsthand original vices made and practiced in Kenya while staying in Nairobi for months last year, He saw through the gimmicks of the Mutula-led delegation to Geneva. He has proved to the scoundrels that you cannot fool all the people all the time by taking them round in circles with empty promises. In essence Annan has hit back hard where it hurt most. Just look at the panic button permanently pressed all over. Political temperatures can only go one direction, up.

The heat is on and there may be no place to hide anymore. Even those who have been entertaining the fallacy of Hague’s long process are stung. They may not show it but the dread and anxiety is written all over their faces. Ocampo’s prompt opening of the envelope handed to him by Annan amounts to another squeeze at the noose tightening around the neck of Hague suspects.

Before 2007, Kenya was a model African democracy until that democracy was heinously bastardized. Nobody ever thought the might Kanu would be politically vanquished at the 2002 polls. That came to pass and the evil Moi rose above all selfishness to hand over power. Make no mistake Moi had all the state apparatus to do as he wished. Even the polarized 2005 referendum came to pass. But not when the political stakes peaked in 2007.

Judge Kriegler may have been diplomatic in his no winner verdict. But the old man knew better than douse an inferno with fuel. Making inference from first principles leaves you asking if there was no winner then why one was sworn in at midnight.

But that is the wrong question. Basic deduction belittles the enormity of the task and apocalypse President Kibaki saved Kenya. Power abhors vacuum and Kibaki had to DUTIFULLY and DUELY fill the void lest Kenyans stewed themselves in their own blood. It therefore defeats logic to examine the genesis of PEV if we are to address its casualties.

Wrong question
Hiding behind empty sovereignty slogans are foxes waiting to pounce on their next prey. True to their colours, they will never a Special Tribunal Bill that demands those implicated to immediately step aside. That is not the way we do things in Kenya. Taking any form of personally responsible for your actions in an alien philosophy here.

The Special Tribunal Bill shamelessly permutes impunity by giving the president the freehand to abuse the powers of clemency. Surely Kenya has its owners and the voters must be ready to either pay rent or relocate elsewhere.

But not just yet. The Ocampo elephant is squarely chocking the room and no political bets are is binding now. And who knows Moreno Ocampo maybe that silver bullet to comprehensively sanitize and then deodorize Kenyan politics.

Game on. It is only us who can free ourselves from this bondage. YES WE CAN and MUST.

Annan Cracks the Whip, Starts Hague Express

Finally Annan has handed the sealed envelope to ICC for action. And with that single stroke of action the painful journey to address Kenya’s impunity starts. As Bob Marley aptly said you can fool some people some time but not all the people all the time.

Moreno Ocampo may not be everybody’s hero but trust the Argentinean to come with blind double edged sword that will not spare any prince or tout. True, it may take time but it will surely leave no room for local manipulation that singularly define our national incompetence.

Hague Express
Annan’s statement from Geneva welcomed Kenya's efforts to establish a special tribunal, but added that "any judicial mechanism adopted to bring the perpetrators of the post-election violence to justice must meet international legal standards and be broadly debated with all sectors of the Kenyan society in order to bring credibility to the process".

Capping it up, Annan reminded the scoundrels of the adage that justice delayed is justice denied. So let the political posturing begin. Meanwhile the noose is slowly and surely tightening around the neck of impunists. Thank God for small mercies.

Arrest Warrant: Bashir's Cheap Kenyan Tricks

Busing in supporters to central Khartoum chanting WE LOVE PRESIDENT BASHIR was a movie scripted and premiered in Kenya. After butchering nearly 300,000 of his own subjects in Darfur, Bashir outdid Kenyan politicians in running home to drum support when cornered.

Luis Moreno is a tough cookie. He terrorized dictators and murderers in his native Argentina and Bashir must have underestimated his resolve to indict him even if only for sentimental reasons. The heat is on and fellow strongmen in Africa are not sitting pretty any more as evident in their opposition to Bashir’s arrest warrant.

Not that they love General Al-Bashir any bit but they are alive to the fact that their necks may be next on Moreno’s chopping block. Bashir’s copy of our own Mutua was predictable as the sun rising in the east with that tired line of neo-colonialism. And Mustafa Othman Ismail is in good company with many here who will wax patriotic when convenient in support of their own political tin gods.

Security in numbers
Bashir will not present himself to The Hague but Moreno has cut the ice. The precedent ans symbolism will sent a cold chill on the spines of scoundrels hell bent of exterminating their opponents and voters whom they consider a challenge to their dictatorship and plunder. No amount of plastic patriotism will buy immunity from indictment.

And just as our IDPs continue to pay the price of unholy trinity perpetrated by our own king, Sudanese refugees are the end losers with six foreign aid agencies having their registrations revoked already. Speak of painful security in numbers amongst insensitive murders who will stop at nothing in the process of feathering their nests at national expense.

The Hague: Proven Euthanasia to Impunity

The engines of The Hague express are revving and rearing to go. Kenya’s GATE KEEPERS are scared to the bone marrow.

True, impunity mutates and in Kenya it has a price tag. Thank Mother Nature to small mercies. By one stroke of genius, Justice Waki sealed all the loopholes and the rats are enjoying the run to no where inside the maze.

The political savages are out renting MPs. The big boys weaned on Kenyan’s blood and sweat are doing only what they know best, throwing KES 1m loose change to rookie MPs salivating to gobble as much as they can fearing for their political future. Given this poisoned political environment, Hague remains our singular refuge from this bunch of scoundrels.

With phase I of the GCG premised on entrenching SECURITY IN NUMBERS with regards to corruption and grand looting almost accomplished, it is time to scheme big with eyes singularly trained on the ultimate political trophy come 2012. So why not rent mouths to take Kenyans one more circular round doled in a local tribunal as the vultures cycle carcase Kenya for the choicest of remaining skeleton.

You don’t need to be a NASA scientist to see what the attempts to trash KNHRC findings amounts to. Forget the street rants packaged as pedestrian justification of the right to be hard. The war lords were unreachable and untouchable when they were busy marshaling their militia to decapitate fellow Kenyans. Emptying Nakumatt shelves of all machetes was more of a priority than appearing before civil shenanigans masquerading as seekers of justice.

Judicially failed state
Make no mistake. No Kenyan big gun is comfortable with the Hague where Moreno Ocampo reigns supreme with his meticulous and ruthless prosecution that no wallet can buy. When push graduates to a shove even our local Pol Pot is not sure when the Khmer Rogue generals will spill the beans detailing the massacre organized at his address. Al Bashir may soon be in good company and benefit from Kenyan version of security in numbers.

Most of the MPs are only playing hard ball to hike the value of their lips. Inadvertently Kenyans stand to gain immensely in their selfish plot to derail the formation of a local tribunal which only flag off Hague Express. Speak of unintended wider gain.

Let the faint hearted and smaller version of the present political vermin wax patriotic all the much they wish. We are already a failed state except in name. Let the Hague help sort us out from our perennial mess. We already have our national bum aired to the world and no more share in exposing the smelly rot underneath to the international arena.

In our collective and shameless penchant to live a national lie, we have slept so long with fleas oblivious of the danger thereof. Well, only The Hague can comprehensively disinfect us as a nation.

Criminal Saboteurs of Hague Express

The kicking and screaming is over and the political elite settling for the local tribunal option secure in the knowledge that their scalps are safe. But not so fast, time is ticking and this post-election issue may not prove as easy as other occasions when they selfishly gang to feather their nests.

The ICC has certified that Kenya is a JUDICIALLY FAILED STATE. And without plastic patriotic blinkers they are spot on. Waki the Kenyan must have seen it coming. No wonder the Hague noose tightens with every passing day. In one week, the MPs have breathed fire and brimstone and promptly followed it with full pack of ice all in equal measure. Well, scoundrels manifest themselves in all shapes and sizes.

Our legal scoundrels must be rubbing their hands in glee in salivating at the impending fat cheques and crowded diaries. Our poor and tattered constitution will soon be the subject of merciless shredding as these mercenaries invent legal loopholes to derail Hague Express. Make no mistake, all the present political heat with commensurate light have eyes singularly trained on the predictable and abused gift of presidential clemency to murderers. And towards that end, Kibaki will not disappoint lest he risks exposing the nasty contents of the political can.

The PEV was no ordinary bloat on our national fabric. The MPs are only cheating themselves by thumbing their chests in minting shortcuts that will only succeed in unwittingly watering impunity. Thank God Waki’s Hague option insulates us from being help as a collective collateral and hostage in the MPs' murderous schemes to swim in our blood.

No therapyspeak
But the MPs are not alone. They are in good company of many Kenyans weaned on impunity must be sheepishly smiling ear to ear brandishing hollow sovereignty as they bend over once more for the MPs’ ultimate ride to self-preservation. At least Waki gave us Annan and his team of EMINENT PERSONS who must earn their labels.

It is no time for THERAPYSPEAK. Our Mps are as guilty as sin itself. They are running roughshod exploiting the chronic lack of leadership within our shores. The present lot have disabused us of any hope in the so-called younger generation of leaders. The little devils are fast overtaking king Lucifer in all matters abominable and scandalous to the national good.

Democracy is one word that has been used and abused with equal zeal. The MPs may form all the available committees they wish to buy time but they better they are only fooling themselves. All the gimmicks to derail the Hague Express will not deter the locomotive from ultimately leaving station Nairobi for Holland. It may take long but it will surely head carrying fully-paid passengers. It remains a matter of when and not if.

Acting Now to Save Future from Ruined Past

As a Markov chain, Kenya’s future can only be saved and shaped by the present actions. Only a conscious and decisive move to shame our past which is singularly defined by IMPUNITY can free us from the bondage of living a national lie whose pillars are DECEPTION and FRAUD. Waki’s report offers the perfect launching pad towards reclaiming the Kenya we want. It may not be perfect but that is no excuse to give murderers and scoundrels a free pass to continue lording over us.

There two types of leaders. The TRUE leaders who lead from the front and by example and then the PRETENDERS whose stand on weighty matters leaves them pander to the whims of their sectarian supporters. True, leaders must be sensitive to those who elected them BUT there comes a time in when challenges demand both symbolic and actual LEADERSHIP to shape a country and her destiny.

Waki is no fool to have taken the controversial and emotive Hague option. Unlike Kriegler before him he a Kenyan well versed with our weird and selfish political actions. The good Judge cleverly slummed the door shut on all escape routes leaving the scoundrels foaming at the mouth gasping for breathe lakini wapi? There is no free lunch and if the prize for reclaiming Kenya starts with the scalps of the 10 names in the envelope handed to Anna so be it.

We must banish the cheap and hollow gimmicks to don deceptive patriotic garbs by branding the international community neo-colonialists. If anything were it not for the same donors we would be having no country called Kenya to defend. They saved us from own murderous ourselves and in return they have the right to demand accountability for all our primitive ways to hack and burn fellow human country men and women.

Isle of turmoil
Make no mistake by mourning louder than the bereaved. Waki report made very WEIGHTY allegations that will see the political landscape change forever. Ruto and Uhuru may be the juicy preface to the report but the chapter indicting State House as the address where attacks were organized makes very chilling confirmation of what has been hitherto street wisdom. It is sacrilegious to imagine the seat of power being transformed into evil headquarters painted red with citizens’ blood.

Resourceful Kenyans will peddle all forms of gimmicks including forgiveness clothed in religion but no way. A time has come when Kenya must walk the talk and take that PAINFUL decision to denounce the national lie and facade of peace we shamelessly cheat ourselves to be enjoying. The bubble is burst and no hollow chorus ISLE OF PEACE IN A SEA OF CHAOS will wash.

Waki is no Einstein but in one smart stroke he outwitted the political class by handing us a national lifeline. There are no two ways about it: we either seize life jacket of drown in our own blood. No more plastering of the septic wound. Only the radical surgery will save the limb and body. That is the only guarantee for the first step to a great leap in breaking from the ruinous past defined by IMPUNITY.

No time to entertain apologetic theories of building on an infant democracy. It is no rocket science to understand that those who experiment with disasters never live to tell the story.

Cheap, Safe Option: Kibaki for Local Tribunal

Unlike Justices Kriegler and Akiwumi before him, Waki knew better the naivety of entrusting the hyenas to guard the choicest of steak. He fully understood the deceptive ways of Kenyan leaders and you can imagine the fate of the secret envelope and its contents if he was naive . The secret envelope has totally rattled the powerful leaving them no option but to manufacture legal loopholes to save their scalps. And true to form and tradition Kibaki will fall for the cheap solution that leaves his DECEPTIVE hands strengthened in offering clemency to murderers.

Kenyan political class may have the monopoly to rape Kenya but one thing is certain, the Waki report will not be theirs to decapitate. Waki knew them inside out and there is absolutely nothing they can do to reverse the process and verdict. Annan will have to do what the world expects him to do to earn his EMINENT PERSON label. He must fill the void left by the chronic lack of leadership that has sees a president stay mum when during serial self-inflicted crises (PEV, arms/pirates etc) only to emerge from his slumber and declare an Obama holiday with political expediency top on his agenda.

The adage THE GUILTY ARE ALWAYS AFRAID has never proved so apt. Why then all these political heat when nobody knows the content of the envelope handed to Annan? Waki has stirred the political hornet’s nest. They have been left to do what they are best at in drumming TRIBAL support ala Kimunya.

Uhuru may been a late convert to seeking Justice but he is fooling nobody. You don’t make history in abandoning your office as leader of official opposition to neatly place your headon the chopping block. Political favours have sell-by date and Jomo Junior knows what Emilio will do. Even Njenga Karume now has the guts and temerity demand implementation of Waki report. Please tell me another believable gimmick.

Kenyans are no fools and Waki didn’t mention TRIBES but specific people whom his committee felt had cases to answer. Sirma’s outburst ‘you are either with us or against us’ may have made him sound intellectual but only to himself. If Ruto is innocent he has nothing to fear and he is better advised to free his conscience by clearing his name at the earliest opportunity.

Bondage of impunity
Waki’s noose is tightening. The good Judge has proved an a competent driver to Hague Express. The political class may enjoy the charade in buying time but this matter is one that has been cast far and wide. Pseudo patriots will foam at the mouth shouting sovereignty oblivious the fact that the same international they now derive snatched Kenya from the jaws of the near-Armageddon.

Ours is a country crying and begging for HONEST leadership bereft of cronyism and fraud. Kenya is yearning to be freed from the bondage of IMPUNITY. Make no mistake! Kibaki is no fool to implement Waki’s report that correctly identified State House address as the venture of planning of the massacres. He knows better than put a gun to his own head.

Meanwhile Kibaki’s 'SMART' apologists arel calculatively corrupting Obama’s virtues by asking us to borrow his inspiration. Give it to them for meticulously peddling such lies oblivious of how they conveniently and shamelessly mask over the common thread running through our locally minted yet stillborn YOTE YAWEZEKANA and the exotic YES WE CAN.

But again you don’t mention bones where old people are lest you unwittingly invite a curse for reminding them of their imminent demise. Well, no amount of political posturing will ground Hague Express which in the fullness of will be packed by fully-paid passengers.

Scoundrel Lawyers Scavaning Carcass Kenya

Mouths or legal scoundrels for hire. Lawyers will smell opportunity to scavenge even before the prey is identified leave alone falling dead. What is more, they have no qualms how the prey met her death. Now the smart pair of Kibe Muigai and Ahmednasir are circling carcase Kenya with their claws all drawn out to curve out the choicest beef.

Best known for superlative splitting of hairs, the pair are now busy trashing Waki’s report for claiming he breached Kenya's Commission of Inquiry Act oblivious of the fact and circumstances that fathered the commission in the first place. Hawky Ahmednasir started it over the weekend by showering MUTE Kriegler with praise for his objectivity while selectively knit picking on Waki’s report for playing to the gallery.

You don’t have to be a neurosurgeon to see the thinly veiled cry now that Waki saw it coming and sealed all rent-seeking loopholes. Soon we will see the politicos join the fray claiming that Waki report was designed to settle scores originating from Kiaritu-Ringera radical surgery that never saw the inside of a theatre. It will be interesting to see these pair of loud-mouthed unofficial STATE LAWYERS manufacture law or twist the present one to pin Waki down.

The devil is securely housed in the secret envelope. All efforts will be made to belittle Annan and his next move with the envelope. Fortunately the die is cast and rolling fast down hill. The Hague Express is beckoning all her fully paid up passengers. No amount of sideshows however cleverly crafted will fly. What an obtuse paradox how lawyers foam at the mouth warning all and sundry about the perils of impunity oblivious of the naked fact that their actions weans the same monster.

Waki is no angel but on this single score he saw the devil, cut a responsible corner with the trophy. All the mongrels can do is to shed crocodile tears over spilt milk while atop the tree on the opposite bank of the raging River JUSTICE.

More wood to Hague pyre
Kibe and Ahmednasir can shout all the legal niceties claiming Waki overstepped his mandate in authoring the contents of the secret envelope, but Kenyans are no longer the naive lot let by the leash of NGO/LEGAL parasites sucking us to the bone marrow.

Waki’s smart move must have been informed and inspired by his desire to free Kenyans from the chocking bondage of IMPUNITY premised on fraudulent and deceptive leadership. The political class shamelessly continue digging even after plunging us into a bottomless hole.

Philip Waki has immortalized Achebe’s wisdom on its head. Because we have been serially turning and turning in the widening gyre of rudderlessness, the falcon cannot hear the falconer and things fell apart with devastating thud. The centre can no longer hold and we need the international community to punish and eradicate IMPUNITY.

More dry wood to the Hague pyre please.
