Events in the background have been unfolding rather rapidly in recent weeks as we head to certain deadlines that are required by the IEBC for the 2017 polls which have already been dubbed the most difficult Kenya has ever faced in its' history.

And one cannot help but agree with that asessment. Kenyans go to the polls in August as a deeply divided nation after the very unfortunate events of 2007 set in motion a chain of events that have tested the republic to its' very limits. Some believe that something has to give sooner or later.

Over the years I have been fortunate to build up sources of information that have helped me keep my readers ahead in terms of what is going to happen next. Experience on the other hand has helped me create certain rules that have served me very well in the eyes of my readers and in my enviable record of accuracy in the very tricky territory of breaking stories before anybody else even has a whiff of what is happening.

And that is the chief reason why I have held back for a long time what I have published just a few minutes ago in Club595. I have even deliberately tried to play it down because it is without doubt the biggest story I have ever handled.

But alas, what do you do when you get information and then you start clearly seeing the signs all around you and also start to get other information that seems to confirm what you have been told but decided to sit on because it was too hot to handle? Do you keep on ignoring it because it is too far fetched? Do you get scared because the story is way too big for you or any writer for that matter?

All those emotions and thoughts have passed through my mind over the last few hours as I agonized before I made the final decision to release the story a few minutes ago. In releasing it I have empowered my readers to read, watch the video attached and make their own judgment and conclusions as we wait to see how things play out.

Presidential Candidate Unmasked (SHOCKER), Esther Passaris Unmasked, Both Like Never Before

It should greatly DISGUST Kenyan voters how our politicians and those who seek to stand for public office in our banana republic treat US, the voting public. Incase you did not know, let me spell it out. They treat us as idiots who did not go to school and can easily be swayed based on tribal emotions and cheap propaganda. In short, they see voters (YOU and I) as idiots and having no brains kabisa.

And that is why they will make you believe that their private lives should remain private, even when they are elected into office. Unfortunately some of us voters have been tricked into believing that lie.

Why the heck would you want to put your very life in the hands of a person you hardly know and don't want to know? As we have seen in recent times, our leader is responsible for our very safety and the safety of our loved ones. Let me just give you all a very simple example. From the information I had then and have now, thousands of those poor innocent Kenyans who lost their lives in the senseless killings of the 2008 post election violence would still be alive and with us today if somebody somewhere whom we elected with all our hearts (me included) had shown just a little leadership. Just a little.

Anyway let me not get carried away venting. Bottomline, if you want your life to remain private, then just remain private and stay away from public office and keep your sordid secrets there. BUT if you want to lead us...

Kalonzo Musyoka wants to be your president and Nairobians, Esther Passaris is keen to be your governor.

Indeed Kalonzo Musyoka is just the kind of person who becomes president of Kenya even as people are making fun of him. Our history is such that the Dedan Kimathis, JM Kariukis, Tom Mboyas, Kenneth Matibas, Raila Odingas and Gitobu Imanyaras never end up as our presidents. It is always those guys who play it safe like Jomo, Moi, Kibaki and Uhuru who end up as President. NEVER EVER the real champions or the guys who really do the fighting and hard work to make our lives better.

Very sad but very true.

For that reason chances are high that history could very well repeat itself and through some strange shift of fate and bid to have a compromise candidate (all Kenyan presidents so far have been compromise candidates) Kalonzo could end up on the ballot as a top contender to be your next president. So you need to take the guy seriously and you also need to know a few things he never wants you to know about him.

Personally I like Esther Passaris. I really do and yet I have no idea why. Maybe it is because I am a normal man. But as a writer I have to present you with the facts. And let me assure you. Shocking is a very weak inappropriate word to use to describe the facts about Esther.

How did a struggling poor lawyer like Kalonzo Musyoka suddenly come into wealth? Why did he kneel down before an illiterate, uncouth but powerful politician called Mulu Mutisya? The truth is that it is almost standard procedure in International espionage to use foreign allies to do dirty work in your own backyard. This has many advantages the key one being that if something goes wrong you retain your deniability. Just do a little research.

Now most Kenyans in the dark like President Yoweri Museveni. But apart from stripping stark naked dissident opposition women politicians in Uganda, he has contributed a lot to the fiddling of Kenyan elections. Kenya has no single woman governor. But I can tell you for sure, barring something extra-ordinary happening between now and the general elections next year, the country will receive its' very first Madam Governor.

And I can even tell you from which county. Kirinyaga County of course.

Unfortunately I cannot tell you which of the two most recognizable women in the country will end up winning the seat. Martha I-support-Uhuru-but-will-not-join-JUBILEE Karua versus Ann Scandal-allegations-Kibao Waiguru is set to be one of the most fascinating political battles in the history of our dear country. But the battle will start and end with the primaries. Let me explain.

Actually it should have been a straight forward land-slide victory for Martha who is so wildly popular in Kirinyaga that she has never lost a single elections there (I am not counting the presidential ballot where she was a candidate in 2013). 

In fact why don't we start with those election results to illustrate why Martha is going to have some serious problems contrary to what I said in this earlier post.

In those 2013 polls the president received a total of 231,868 votes representing a staggering 96.7% of the votes cast. Home town girl Martha received a paltry 2,438. Even Raila beat the iron lady in her home town gannering a respectable (for him in the area) 3,471 votes.

In them votes is a very clear story. The voters who have never abandoned Martha in decades simply did not see her when voting. She was NOT in JUBILEE and anybody not in JUBILEE in Kirinyaga might as well not be in the ballot.

This is further illustrated by what happened yesterday when the president and his deputy visited Kirinyaga. Martha was there to wlecome him. They even hugged fondly with the head of state. But when Martha stood to speak something strange happened. She was wildly cheered as she made her way to the podium but when she opened her mouth to speak she was drowned by shouts of JUBILEE. The other candidate, Ann Waiguru (did not speak). Read the whole story. In my view this was a smart political move. Give the people time to forget the scandals and get used to her as a candidate, seems to have been the idea. Considering that Kenyans voters DO NOT have the memory of an elephant and are easily swayed by emotions, especially of the tribal nature, this was the only smart play yesterday for Waiguru. In my view had Waiguru tried to speak she wuld have been greeted by defeaning... SILENCE.

So the question now is how will Kirinyaga vote? Blindly for JUBILEE or will they forgive their favourite daughter, Martha for being in the wrong party and throw some votes her way if she soldily supports President Uhuru's re-election?

For any seasoned political analyst on Kenyan politics that question is a no-brainer. The Kirinyaga folks will blindly vote JUBILEE (even if it is Raila who will be given the ticket). End of story.

However having analyzed politics in this our country for decades now, I can tell you that Martha will in the end be forced to abandon her principles and join JUBILEE. And if for some reason she doesn't she will lose. It is as simple as that. 

No politician likes a brusing battle and it is for that reason that Ann Waiguru's the-most-expensive-handlers-money-can-buy will find a strategy to keep Karua away from JUBILEE. That is all they have to do to win. In fact after Waiguru has been declared they can pack their bags and go to sleep and wake up to listen to the election results whilst extremely bored at how predicatble it is going to be.

And that my dear friends is where the brusing political battle for the Kirinyaga governsorship will be... in the primaries and especially in the pre-primaries stage which by the way has already started.

Another very likely scenario which will be even more exciting to behold, will be Martha sticking to her guns and going door to door to tell her people why they need to vote for her and Uhuru. And why they will need to grit their teeth and wince in great pain when they tick a non-JUBILEE box for governor.

Get that popcorn and your favourite beverage folks, the action has already started.

 The problem with Kenyan politics is that the vast majority of analysis and views are always tightly based on which side of the divide one is clinging to politically. It is very rare to get a balanced honest view that is not tribal based.

Anyway let us attempt to look at the strengths and weaknesses of the JUBILEE government which came into power in 2013 and is set to return to the people to seek another five year term sometime in 2017.

Strengths;

Efficiency
There is no doubt that the Uhuruto government has been one of the most efficient governments since Independence (if not the most efficient). Like them or not, the truth of the matter is that this government gets things done. The fact that the same government has also instigated the highest injection of young talent into government since Independence definitely has a lot to do with this welcome efficiency.

Benefits to the wananchi have been numerous. Probably the most visible is the Huduma centre project which has made it possible for folks to get things done in a fraction of the time it previously took trekking from one government office to another.

Security 
A few months into the Uhuruto administration the country went through a series of terrorist attacks by al Shabaab militants. You could literally smell the fear in the air. Sadly this had a major impact on tourist arrivals which we are yet to fully recover from. However credit has to go to Uhuruto for fixing this. Admittedly this security issue is something they inherited from the previous Kibaki regime. The fixing was done mainly by tapping into the skills and experience of military men starting with the appointment of a politician from the opposition who also happens to be an ex-soldier, Joseph Nkaissery.

Today terror attacks are a thing of the past and the few incidences we still hear of are always close to the border with Somalia. The improvement in security has been nothing short of dramatic.

Reached out to areas that did not vote JUBILEE
Kudos to the duo for the major efforts that have been made to reach out to areas that are a stronghold of the opposition. One could argue that the motive here was selfish and aimed at weakening the opposition for the next general elections. However we have also seen what previous governments have done and the policy and attitude to areas that did not vote for them. Right from the Moi years to the Kibaki years. And so credit has to be given to Uhuruto for behaving maturely and nationally... as they should.


Weaknesses;

Corruption
No prizes for guessing what has to be number one in terms of weaknesses of the Uhuruto regime. Corruption. Corruption. Corruption. The amounts of cash in public funds that has been lost is crazily high. No doubt the opposition will cash in on this single most obvious weakness when the campaigns begin.

Tribalism
In this day and age I am ashamed to mention the fact that tribalism is alive and well and has been very much alive and well in the Uhuruto government. We have qualified folks from most of the other tribes of Kenya who can also be loyal to the government of the day. Why have they always been ignored? Why should a deserving Kenyan lose an opportunity because they are the "wrong tribe"?

Spin
The spin machine within State house has been putting a spin to all kinds of nasty truths. And at times they have had very little regard for the facts or truth of the matter. There is nothing wrong painting a government in good light, it is done all over the world. However hii yao imekua excess.

My score to Uhuruto is a generous 40% (they have not totally failed. And they have NOT attained a pass mark either. Not good enough for Kenyans I have to say.

Martha Karua as always chose her words very carefully in making her bombshell announcement to support Uhuru Kenyatta for re-election in 2017.

She said she was not dismantling her NARC party but was simply supporting the incumbent meaning that the party will not field a presidential candidate BUT will have candidates for all other elective offices.

Still word on the street was Karua amerudi JUBILEE (Karua has returned to the JUBILEE party). But wait a minute. Return? She has never been a member of JUBILEE in her life has she? There is a simple explanantion here. What folks on the street were saying is that Martha has returned to her Kikuyu brethren whom she had abandoned for ile jaruo.

For those who know what they are doing when analyzing Kenyan politics there is no mystery here. Or as the Americans would put it; this is a no brainer.

Still let us spell it out so that there are no doubts. Martha is a vibrant active politician. She has been out in the cold for almost 5 years now. Her initial game plan was to mount a serious challenge for the presidency in 2013 and then ride on that to win it in 2017. But what happened? She got slightly over 40,000 votes (I am proud to say one of those votes was mine). Very few legislators made it to parliament with than number of votes, let alone consider such small figures for the presidency of Kenya. Bottom line she was nowhere.

And so she has to face reality this time round. Naturally a good place to start is as governor of her home county Kirinyaga. Now voters in that region are blind to anything other than JUBILEE and president Uhuru Kenyatta. Indeed any association with CORD in the area will always be firmly rejected, almost to a man, by voters.

So what Martha has done is to simply make herself visible. And she has had to say stuff that she does not believe in in the process. Like saying she fully supports the steps the president is taking to fight corruption (ouch!!). Just take a close look at what Martha has had to say about that subject in the last handful of years. The very opposite. Read This. And also read that. Anyway this is politics. Kenyan politics.

Kirinyaga Governor Joseph Ndathi: Umeanza ku-pack boss?

Meanwhile on the ground the iron lady has caused serious tremors with this latest move of hers. The most frightened man on the ground (who has no doubt broken into a cold sweat) is of course the current Kirinyaga governor Joseph Ndathi. You see Martha is wildly popular in Kirinyaga and she has NEVER lost a single election there. In other words bwana Ndathi might as well start packing early because it is rather obvious who the next governor of Kirinyaga is going to be.

Very sad that even a principaled politician like Martha Karua has to bow to the pressures of that evil monster called tribalism in Kenyan politics. Very sad indeed.
