ODM War Manifest Nonsense, Fiendish Delight

Don't be vague, let's go to The Hague. Well, not quite as ODM's poor attempt to bake its cake and eat it culminates into another impending political tower of Babel. Torn between projecting a spruced face seeking justice for post-election victims and token appeasement of its residual hitherto members from Rift Valley, the ODM edifice is staring its political and credibility Waterloo in the face.

What is more, William Ruto has compounded ODM's problems by smartly rejecting the poisoned chalice that was doled out to him as legal support for his forthcoming Hague date. Granted, most Kenyan will predictably rush for the cheap ethnic explanation but the truth is far bigger than that. Speak of reverse FIENDISH DELIGHT which amounts to cheap justification of security in numbers albeit disguise. Our political parties stand for nothing apart from being used as vehicles to acquire raw political power, PERIOD.

The hitherto political juggernaut ODM is calmly lying on her deathbed crowded by opposing camps in every decision making. It is simple: YOU CANNOT HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT. While collective responsibility would demand the Orange party to go by its NEC and parliamentary decision to sponsor lawyers for Ocampo3 to placate Rift Valley voters, it is a difficult balancing act to renege on consistency to project objectivity in search of justice for the PEV.

Make no mistake, the support and opposition for the gang that is Ocampo6 is nothing but our time-tested ETHNIC POLITICS perfected. Despite the high-sounding declarations laced in chest thumbing, no camp is interested in justice or reconciliation. Your guess is as good as mine what the fate of the Ocampo6 be if ICC another of our easily-manipulated courts. All his warts notwithstanding, Luis-Moreno Ocampo has scared the IMPUNITY hell out of tribal lord and things will never be the same again.

Meanwhile, lawyers or no lawyers, ODM is a victim of its own schemes and the tower of Babel will soon leave members cowering for political safe grounds. 2012 here we come.

Don't be Vague, Mint More Huge Confusion

The political gestation period is already here ready for 2012 elections. Soon it will be mutation galore from both sides of the political divide. And don't count on any your tribal chieftains to keep a float in the impending implosion. Given the ongoing internal divisions, squabbles, fights within the two coalition parties with heat in one begetting heat from the rival, even die hard supporters are better advised to invest their loyalty elsewhere. But this is Kenya with all her unique political landscape, anything is possible.

All the wrangles within the parties, whether on ICC or posts, can be correctly traced to lack of political ideology. All there is presently are mere vehicles to acquire raw political power for personal aggrandisement, PERIOD. All parties are more of cults revolving around individual with no solid traditional identity. All the empty slogans are just that devoid any objective and unifying theme.

All the heat will soon upgrade to an inferno electioneering season set in proper Kenyan style. We haven't seen anything yet from both local and exported Kenyans waxing patriotic in support of their tribal warlords, NA BADO.


Poor Kenyans! The belief that the new constitution was crafted to make the presidency less attractive must have been misplaced given the length of queue of aspirants. Well, Kenya has changed but not Kenyans. No matter your take, the fiasco that was 2007 elections changed Kenya forever. The take off was bumpy and the landing/transition is equally scary.

Of Mungiki and Majimbo Murders

Call it any name you wish but the much-maligned MAJIMBO is here with us albeit by default. And its practitioners are the same scoundrels who demonized it during the 2005 referendum. Welcome to superlative political expediency exclusively made in Kenya.

The present class wars fiercely waged by Mungiki must be seen in the very light of SUBJUGATION. When Kenyans protested against being collectively AUCTIONED by the present gatekeepers after the bungled 2007 polls, we never saw it as symptomatic of revolt against inequality and injustice.

Tell the industry balderdash to Mungiki and kiss your neck goodbye. Even after taking the battle to the backyards of the rulers, their shameless apologists refuse to shed off blinkers. well, primitive accumulation of wealth has mutating into murderous hydras whose tentacles cannot be exterminated even with state might. Na BADO.

All sonorous choruses about hard work and industry can only go so far in expanding chauvinistic egos. While the heads may be temporarily safe under the sand, Mungiki continues its mission to demand attention by decapitation. By offering youths binary option of BLOOD or your HEAD, the self-bred savages are getting the due attention they want.

Ages of ruling an unwilling population by brutal force is long gone with the last millennium and only those schooled on colonial economics still cling to the fallacies. The cliche KENYA WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN has never rang so truer. You don’t bastardize a people’s democracy and use state force to rule them, never.

Living in denial
We lost our innocence and virginity after the 2007 election. No amount of pretence will wash. All the lies packaged in deceptive slogans have been busted. Kenya belongs to Kenyans and not few colonial mutants masquerading as economists. Bob Marley knew it: YOU CAN FOOL SOME PEOPLE SOME TIME BUT NOT AL THE PEOPLE ALL THE TIME.

Look around you and what do you see? Political scavengers draining the last drop of Kenya as Mungiki localize their machetes. The moral authority melted with the year 2007. The king is dancing nude believing what his apologists tell him that he is immaculately dressed.

The time of reckoning is nigh and by the time Mungiki is down, there will be no safe place to call home for the looters. THE PRIZE OF ELECTORAL THEFT. Pretending to seek way forward without first acknowledging existence of a problem is to engage into a circular ego trip.

National Lie: Reconciliation Using Division

Playing politics with dead bodies must be condemned by any sane human being worth his/her blood and flesh. But not in Kenya where leaders engage in shameless charades for political mileage.

Toxic leadership continues to suffocate Kenya living her citizens gasping for air. So Kibaki was in Eldoret presiding over the burial of Kiambaa victims almost 20 months since their deaths. His partisan entourage didn’t do the occasion and Kenya any good.

So here we go again continuing to fortify the foundation of our national lies. The shameless leadership has no qualms tribalising death. But again maybe in their twisted world they can speak first language with the dead. And to their obtuse gratification their apologists will come bandying lofty slogans like reconciliation while the thinly-veiled and cheap political expediency oozes from every orifice of their anatomy.

Wailing louder than bereaved
What is more, we have successfully exported the bigotry across the borders. No wonder Museveni can afford the luxury of effortlessly annexing Kenya as many original bigots cheer him on when he skillfully strokes their ethnic egos Kenyan style.

The non mutating truth be told, no life must be lost in vain. But to derive cheap political capital out of a TRAGEDY by painting others as more aggrieved is no means to either author or nurture reconciliation. The latent bravado and brinkmanship negates any trace of cohesion present thereof.

No contempt is more painful than that tears streaming from crocodile's eyes. The only thing that matters to the present rulers is the MEGA DEALS they make over carcass Kenya. To them all else is noise and rattling that must be ignored and strangulated with all available might.

Kibaki and his entourage may have come for the burial with all the state power. But fools would entertain the notion of legislating good neighbourliness. Even Saitoti missed the boat by a whole river in enumerating the number of police stations.

And our people never run dry of selective amnesia and bravado. Predictably, our national penchant to mask wounds as it festers underneath we will see many chanting and condemning those who chose to absent themselves from the burial lest they inflamed an already raging ethnic inferno.

Stroking ethnic flames
The sooner we garner the courage to look our problems straight in the eye the better. Only then can we retrace when the DEVIL invaded our national homestead. Otherwise we risk continuing the destructive journey of building a firm pyramid of deception which will soon come crashing down leaving no place to hide even for the looters.

While nobody ever suffered constipation from a full course menu of delicious coloured lies, only clothing ourselves with nothing but the truth will help cover our collective national nudity. All else are circular ego trips to oblivion.

Martha: Please Take Your Grievances to Court

Lies mutate into all forms and shapes. So Ms Martha Karua wants all and sundry to believe that her fight for reforms caused her the ministerial job? Well, may be to many Kenyans weaned on the same sumptuous plate of national lies. Otherwise it is very difficult to justify the cheap gloating and glee from people falling for her sideshow like flies attracted to fermented milk.

When you read a Kenyan gloating that Kibaki did a Bildad Kaggia on Martha then you don’t need to visit a youth centre to witness juvenile bravado. The only good thing from lies is that they are sweet to cheap ears sprouting from either side of an empty box burdening the shoulders. Well, the list is long as Wangari Maathai, Kalembe Ndile, Waruru Kanja, Munene Kairu and Bildad Kaggia would tell you.

Lies are infectious and once told, you have to invent another to cover the one before it hence forming a firm foundation of PYRAMID OF DECEPTION. Now we read about principles that are as transparent as a plastic sheet whose shape remains at the mercy of any mild source of heat. The TRUTH is Karua would be still breathing fire warming PNU belly as a Deputy Prime Minister.

Kenya WILL NEVER BE THE SAME AGAIN and anybody using the present fraudulent parameters to plan her auction will wake to the rudest of shocks. No amount of half truths peddled by playing EXPECTANT SURROGACY predatorily lying in wait for fallout will deliver.

Martha has come full circle in just 15 months. The political Paul cannot shed the Saul blood running through her veins. Make no mistake! The panic in the camp Martha left without intellectual tent is palpable. Meanwhile she is handsomely reaping the ultimate wages of sin. But it will turn really nasty when the shit finally hits the fan. Any potential political suitor is better warned that Samson at least had Delilah's BEAUTIFUL FACE as an excuse for falling short of God's glory.

Tapes don’t lie
It must be unbearably painful to put your life onto a course only to see the prize awarded to pretenders crowned as a prince. But again Martha must have seen it coming given the history of serial betrayal since 2003.

Tapes don’t lie and all the denials of inaudibility and their quality won’t wash. Martha is no fool or naive and the political pressure cooker is threatening to give in. She is acutely aware of her vulnerability and insecurity. But the gatekeepers won’t dare touch her lest the overgrown worm born in December 2007 crawl out soiling all and sundry.

A caste built of vices only becomes a fortress of serial schemers hellbent on self destruction. The big political and national bang will come fast and furious. We haven’t seen anything yet, NA BADO.

Can We Fight Crime With Technology?

I did not want to drown Taabu's controversial post and so I have decided to add my brief post here. Besides it does NOT really warrant a new post on its' own.

One of the good reasons for getting rid of all the old guys in power now is so that younger guys who are more familiar with technology can enable Kenyans to benefit from it. I will give just one example. Technology can be used very effectively to fight crime. We already have hidden cameras in town (not enough) and we already have an initiative by a private company to help people track their stolen cell phones. We also have the stalled DNA testing crime lab that is yet to be built.

However much more can still be done and only younger dot come generation Kenyans can figure this out for the country. As it is with the current jokers firmly in power, George Muhoho will always be re-appointed managing director of the Kenya Airports Authority (I mean the man is over 70 years old!!!). Are there no younger able qualified Kenyans? Besides the man does NOT need the job while many younger Kenyans do!!

As I have said here often, there is no way these old dinosaurs can give us any new ideas.

P.S. The argument I always hear is people asking what the young guys in the current political system have done. Well, the thing is they can NOT do much when the decision-making dinosaurs are still in power. We need radical surgery in Kenya. How about electing a 40 year old as President? Okay Maximum 45 years!!!?

Raila: Honest Audit or Smart Blame Game?

Prime Minister Raila Odinga has given out what amounts to an audit of the GCG to date. At the centre of his audit was corruption, the cancer that is mauling at every fabric of garment Kenya.

It must be the most difficult and helpless job being a GENERAL in an army of hostile soldiers. Supervision and coordination may sound rosy on paper but just ask iron lady Martha Karua about cronyism and DNA-based appointments in the judiciary. Her political tantrums aside, it took real politics for her absorb the impact of kick in the teeth from an appreciative king after being the intellectual and political face of PNU during the trying PEV period.

In defending the UNHOLY political union of power-sharing, Raila squarely placed the blamed on corruption to inaction and lethargy by the judiciary and police. And that opens the door on the debate of whether he is telling nothing but the WHOLE TRUTH or simply shifting blame as the GCG dithers with snouts fully immersed in the honey jar.

Raila acknowledged the difficult task of undoing the myriad of ills inflicted on Kenya and Kenyans over the past 45 years. And in there lies the truth and the common thread joining the present gate keepers at the hip.

On a brighter side, at least we have been presented with a formal audit to debate about on Kenya and NOT bedroom matters that are shamelessly nationalized. That said, the will to fight corruption may be there but the courage from the right quarters lacking in abundance. Speak of the mind willing but the hands are weak.

Political Rewards: Dare Rebels, Deride Projects

Kenyan politics never lacks sparks and spices. The heat in each political party seems to hitting a crescendo every weekend. The product is an interesting and potentially explosive mix ambition and tension. While ODM is trying to contain its so-called rebels, the iron lady is going bare knuckles with Uhuru and all the pretenders of the throne waiting in the wings for coronation. And the calculative Dr. Steve is waiting in the wings to bag the trophy from the resulting spoils of war.

Behind all present political scheming lurk ambitions cleverly clothed lest the players burn their political houses by acquiring the traitor tag. These smart politico are torn between the competing tenets of ambition and its unavoidable side effect tension. But that doesn’t stop Martha from going for the jugular and aiming at Jomo Junior’s soft under belly.

Poor Uhuru must be gritting his teeth anytime Karua takes the microphone. And she never disappoints just like she did again this weekend by reminding all and sundry that the era of propping political PROJECTS ended with the previous regime and would not work in the prevailing political situation.

The fluid Kenyan politics can sometime even confound the most experienced. Prof Kiarie Kinuthia is left torn between political pragmatism and respect. While Kajiado councilors would want George to do the necessary by throwing his hat into the ring, the good Topology professor knows better that THERE COMES A TIME! In Muthengi you find a mathematician who truly values time and knows the benefits derivable from perfect timing.

At stake in all these schemes is the Gema vote basket. Prof Kimya must be dutifully praying that Karua burns both her political bridges and fingers and the son of Jomo retreats to the warmth of shell Kanu. And abracadabra miracles galore once the political coast is clear.

Payback time
No politician will stake his or her neck without a price. And if you don’t give it them, they come out fighting for it. How smartly they do that may as well demarcate the difference between success and failure. One Bill is doing it and cannot wait any longer to play second fiddle to son of Moses in the Pentagon hierarchy business.

Now enter Martha and you witness Wangari's intestines boiling with rage and disappointment after being sidestepped and seeing the dividends from her LABOUR directed to UK's political bank account. The lady from Gichugu is firing from all cylinders and out fighting tooth and nail. Only time will tell her destiny with certainty.

The next four years promises interesting political times for Kenya with plenty of twists and turns. Pretending to predict or have a roadmap of how Kenya's political landscape will evolve is to be naive at best or merely engaging in an OBTUSE EGO trip at worse.

Uhuru Rents a Mob for Kibaki Succession War

Kibaki succession is taking interesting and heated shape. With Iron Lady Karua shooting from the hip and calling Prof Kiarie Kinuthia's bluff, Uhuru has reverted to Kanu’s time tested and tried rend-a-mob theartics. And Jomo Jr has an able hand in one David Murathe to do the ground work in ferrying mouths to hotels to shout a prepared script. Boy, it never stops being interesting as the delegation gimmicks of yore are replayed right before our eyes for a seat that is more than 50 months a way.

Karua is out with all her guns blazing and she seems aware and prepared of the consequences. You have to understand anger and sense of betrayal burning inside the lady from Gichugu. She stuck her neck out making herself the intellectual and visible face of Kibaki during the post election violence only to receive a generous kick in teeth as Jomo Jr pick the trophy. Martha has made her intentions known and damn the consequences. Firing her now may just turn her into a hero and a magnet for sympathy votes.

Karua has STUCK Uhuru with the most lethal venom and no amount of shadow boxing will wash UK’s design as fashioned by the old geezers behind the throne pushing for his coronation. Watching Mama Ngina’s boy ducking HARD TALK’s point blank question on how much land Kenyatta family owns only confirms why his only political option lies in PROJECT PHASE II. Karua’s has dropped the gauntlet that Uhuru would rather face her than use surrogates. Will he pick it? Your guess is as good as mine. Such a challenge would demand an astute political spine which is a rare commodity in UK’s closet.

Political top-up
Kibaki meanwhile is staring open rebellion that threatens to consign him to premature political menopause. Emilio’s minders and cronies are not doing the old man any favour in pushing him to secure their financial interests in advance. These vultures have left baba Jimmy in the middle of fires started from all directions. They won’t stop at anything in their mission to auction Kenya and new deals are popping up everyday despite array of commission of inquiries already in place to cover previous FRAUD that are embarrassingly crawling out of the wood works.

Deception in whatever shape is unsustainable and like lies its consequences are damn costly. Trying to actively micro manage a political that only exists on paper is a sure recipe to expose the rot and incompetence hitherto glossed through fraud. True to the adage whatever goes around comes around, Kibaki is destined to have eggs and tomatoes plastering his face during this time in his political sunshine. This will be sooner rather than later when the first brick comes off the political tower of Babel that is PNU.

Perils of Managing Own Succession

Times have changed but not our politicians. Kibaki is finding it hard mould PNU into an outfit for his political schemes. Beholden to his club of moneyed and greying buddies it is payback time and he has to deliver before he quits State House. With Jomo Jr. salivating in the wings for coronation, Iron Lady and Prof Kiarie cannot sit down and watch.

With economic deals on Kenya at high stakes Kibaki cannot afford the luxury of experimenting with less endowed chaps around him. But true to character he is trying to keep all relevant lest they leave the king exposed for what he is – SPINELESS MARIONETTE. It appears the next four years are very short to accomplish the national looting and auction hence the early political positioning of pretenders to the throne. While the bank behind Kibaki’s politics and presidency are demanding quick results, the route is proving unpredictably bumpy.

The new wineskins have vehemently rejected the old wine. We are in new age and Kibaki’s time tested fraudulent tricks are being overtly and covertly resisted by people who would otherwise be playing ball. Ford-K and Narc-K have proved good and fast students of history and have vowed never to provide their backs for a piggy political ride for the heir apparent.

Curse of last term
Outright dissent is a known byword for last term presidents and Kibaki is no exception. His authority and spinelessness will be tested to the core and the dissenters are determined to go all the way. Already Karua and her gang have scored a significant victory in having the proposal to dissolve affiliate parties and merge them into one shelved. Forming a committee to study such a viability is just diplospeak to but time in the face of a determined opposition.

DECEPTION and FRAUD are very costly vices. Kibaki is finally paying the ultimate price of cheating his way into his second term. The truth be told, PNU was a gimmick for a party formed under the wrong premise and with the wrong purpose. Passengers boarded the vehicle for selfish reasons as evident in the present rudderlessness.

That the more things change the more they remain the same has never been an apt phrase as applied to Kenyan politics. Now the Wekesa-led PNU committee are back to the trouble laced twin proposal of individual and corporate membership. Boy, don’t we love repeating the same mistakes that previously refused to work. So Kibaki has finally discovered in his sunset political life that he needs to be the chairman of a party called PNU and for good measure have a trusted lieutenant as a deputy. Whether that will work is anybody’s guess. But the scheming betrays IMPUNITY as a defining label for the players. In their minds damn the consequences and what Kenyans think provided their wicked plans are laid no matter the human price.

Infectious Selective Censor and Political Suicide

With the smell of political blood still suffocating our political airspace, some of the 10th Parliament MPs are spoiling for another VIP scalp after Kimunya. Trust Kenyan politicians to abuse and use words selfishly to suit their narrow interests. Discretion is the new buzzword among the Grand coalition cabinet ministers. Borrowing Kimunya's script by defending themselves that they acted within prescribed powers, Uhuru and Kajwang are denying any form of impropriety in their actions.

Two wrongs never made a right and so comparing whose crime between Uhuru and Kajwang is bigger amounts to splitting hairs. In Kajwang’s book he overruled his immigration officers in issuing work permits for jobs whose qualifications can be sourced locally. True, the buck stops with the minister as he proudly gloats but he must come out and unambiguously explain if in the process of acting as he did no law was broken. Failure to do so amounts to impunity which is the singular unique characteristic defining this administration.

Uhuru Kenyatta is said to have substituted names for nominations forwarded to him by respective political parties by those of his personal and political liking. Alright, it may be lawful for the local government minister to nominate up to a third of councilors. But the question is did he do it proportionately as per the composition of the elected two thirds? Well, you cannot fail to see the temptation then to tinker with figures during the politically volatile January and February of this year. What of ODM’s numerical superiority at the civic level threatening to upstage and frustrate PNU's power from above? For whatever it was Jomo Jr. must own up to his actions and if he is found to have acted outside his mandate no donning of tribal or party colours will wash. He must carry the cross no matter the weight.

Hare hunting foxes
Having fanned the first embers of political heat, the domino effect of Kimunya’s fall is threatening to come back to claim Martha Karua’s political scalp. The Iron Lady may have played it smart by sticking to the law and prodding his political lapdog Mungatana to expose Kimunya, but her star may be dimmed with the predictable cocked Cocker commission’s report. In all likelihood Kimunya will be exonerated of wrong doing. And that will mark the beginning of fierce intra-Gema wars for political supremacy in tandem with Kibaki succession.

As they say sweet revenge is a menu better served cold. Martha must pray that the Cocker’s commission find Kimunya VERY GUILTY. Otherwise the other 4Ks may just team up to deflate her political balloon. Her intentions of playing above the fray and reproach politics in fighting corruption may be a noble gesture. But in Kenya's hyper-ethnic and regional based politics, her heroics may be turned against her as unforgivable betrayal of one of her own.

The adage of running with the hare to hunt with the foxes couldn’t haven’t have been more apt. It is very ironical but surely not naive to tie Martha’s political future with Amos Kimunya’s fate. It won’t surprise anybody to see the end turning into payback time. Martha’s fate apparently is out of her hands but instead lies with the powers that be. She remains safe if she is their pick otherwise the future bodes ill for her. Only time will tell whether she enriched her political CV or unwittingly committed political suicide in advance.

Kibaki Attempts to Stem Political Bloodbath

Kimunya’s political death before he resigned has forced Kibaki to act albeit in arrears. With MPs smelling blood, Kibaki has finally realized that being aloof and leading by remote control can be politically fatal. This has seen him call a PNU meeting for Tuesday to help recoup some resemblance of an organized party despite the reality being the parts disintegrating from the plastic sum.

Kibaki’s attempt to take direct control of PNU comes with challenges that he must be ready to confront. For starters he is cleverly trying to manage his own succession. The wars so far pits his close allies and also threatens others who are left with no known party were PNU to disintegrate. Put with political egos ballooning at every party convention it will be interesting to see how the whole succession battle fans out. The war is on pitting four parties. The Karua axis believes they have boxed themselves into the ring and are left with choice but to fight. Jomo Jr. on the other side cannot afford to see his dream/deal shuttered right before his eyes.

The experienced and moneyed Prof. Kiarie Kinuthia Saitoti must also be having an ace up his sleeves against the loud political toddlers. Water Assistant minister Mwangi Kiunjuri completes the picture of rivalry and fight for post Kibaki political space in Central Kenya with Grand National Union party whose patron is none other than Daudi Mwiraria. Kibaki has a tough task to reign on the bloated egos and contain the suffocating ambitions of 5Ks -Karua, Kenyatta, Kiarie, Kiaritu and Kalonzo.

Taming egos of 5Ks
Granted, impunity and utter contempt can be effectively applied to a nation enslaved by a tattered constitution. While selective and selfish application of the law can afford you the luxury of auctioning a country to China and Libya, containing burning ambitions of fellow politicians scheming to succeed you is a different ball game altogether. With Ford-K having decamped when its value dramatically depreciated in the coalition, it will be interesting to see the direction Narc-K takes with the iron lady in the controls. Kalonzo’s too is not naive to the political dynamics and will want his commensurate pound of flesh when the right time for payback comes.

Leadership from the rear can be very expensive in the long run. One would have ordinarily expected PNU to have a meeting prior to Kimunya’s censor motion in parliament. But make no mistake. The present attempt to secure the stables after the horses have bolted has more to it than just political fire fighting. With the king exposed, he has to come out fighting to chaperon his troops in order to avoid any more leaks given that more deals with Libya need to be accomplished before Leader Gaddafi throws embarrassing and incriminating tantrums.

When you con your way into political office ridding on a tower of Babel you must be ready to have your skull kiss debris from the resulting ruin. Well, the duly elected has his job cut out for him. He must brace himself for the challenges of managing a patchwork of political edifices revolving around competing loyalties albeit with the common agenda to succeed him. Kibaki is simply paying the ultimate price of cobbling a party on the wrong premise and devoid of any structure.

PNU’s Tower of Babel Fate with Reality

Political events in the recent past and new future may expose the vulnerability of many top shots. Ford-K has just REDISCOVERED itself and promptly ditched PNU following hot in the heels of Narc Kenya and remnants of Kanu. So what will be fate and face of PNU as a party?

Uniting singularly from fear of the opponent is a hollow premise that is not sustainable in the long run. The truth is PNU was and is not a political party in the strict sense of the word. Instead it is a conglomeration (nay patch work) of selfish and scared political entities whose common denominator was fear of the unknown. All have their eyes on the ultimate price. The facade of unity and hard ball politics exhibited so far will soon melt into oblivion as each pursues his/her individual trophy.

PNU supporters will soon pay the ultimate price of owning a shell as the elements scatter into the four wings of the world. Well, the truism that the easiest way of uniting people is to create a common enemy (real or perceived) couldn’t have been more apt. The tragedy comes when the elements eventually split away from that enemy in pursuit of individual glory/goals. By then you have got no reason to be together until you start looking at each other by which time you start again looking for another enemy within your ranks. And the circular motion continues.
