Sadly the intelligence community in Kenya, as well as numerous foreign ones are pretty busy with mischief at the moment as we hurtle ever closer to the general elections.

Funny you should bring that up. There are mercenaries operating in Kenya as we speak. Always has been. Then the English army never left so it's easy to take people in and out without causing too much bruhaha.
ReplyDeleteYou paid too little attention to the recent payrise to Kenyan army officers. They already run scams like everyone else and are well off. The fact they wanted more official pay and got it is very scary indeed. Follow the money. Someone is desperate for loyalty.
It's a shame that Kenyans still keep blaming the UK and so called spies. githongo is indeed only a brave if naive man. The english did a cost benefit when they left and did not consider it worthwhile to pay for new infrastructure+ (and don't remember more Mau Mau were killed by Kenyans and vice versa than by the British). So they offered a pay back scheme to settlers (and most took it) to avoid a nasty exit. Then they kept and army in the highlands and provided a backbone for Moi.
Only Kenyans are to blame for the current mess. No one else. We had every chance and blew it. No more no less.
