Is Kenya Headed In The Right Direction?

archive

People living in Havana in the 1960s learnt how to live with the constant shrieking voice of some woman screaming "Fatherland or death" every time they picked up the phone, instead of the customary dial tone

What is really sickening about this question is the fact that anybody should be asking it at all. It should be so obvious that this should be a stupid question to ask.

Sadly a clever sustained campaign by the Kibaki administration to lie to the public (for self-preservation) has convinced many that Kenya is headed in the right direction and we just need to be patient...

  1. This article has raised some very fundamental concerns. We really need, every single one of us, to ask ourselves those questions and solutions will surely suffice.

Now let me ask u people, why does it hurt u so much when the government says the economy has grown? I am finding it completely inexplicable that each single article by a certain predictable bunch of people has to talk about the economy growing. Looks like u guys would have been happy with economic stagnation so that u have something to cling on with your never ending propaganda. I am on record saying that I have some fundamental misgivings with the Kibaki administration, but it is very hypocritical when u dont give credit where it is due.

Did u say over 70% of kenyans live on under a dollar a day? That in very simple english is called a lie. Table the citations if u can and please do not start that too predictable line of 'Vikii is working for NSIS' because u know it is crap. Nobody would want to shut down ur beauriful blog dude so its time u stopped hiding under that.

I agree that when u listen to a lie a hundred times it sounds like a truth. That seems to be exactly where u r pegging your hope on. Wish u luck.

The government flushing out mungiki suspects in Mathare and killing them in cold blood is a crime against humanity. Even confirmed mungiki adherents deserve a hearing in a court of law. People have to be tried in court if this government understands anything about justice. That is a very valid and sound reason to vote the government of Mwai Kibaki out in December. We dont need to cook stories about anything, there are glaring examples of misrule.

As much as I cannot share Phil's political loyalty, he has a way of coming up with concrete reasons why we should reject Hon. kibaki. His propaganda is mainly about singing praise songs for his candidate and not mudslinging other candidates. One of those reasons is the inability of the government to midwife the adoption of a new democratic constitutional dispensation. Another one is the failure by the government to guarantee security for Kenyans. I still mantain that fictitious stories will not get anyone anywhere. Lets do politics of hard facts.
