There were some very solemn inter-denominational prayers at the KICC this morning in honor of the memory of all those who lost their lives aboard Flight KQ 507.
Do spare a thought for the friends and relatives of those who perished in this grisly air crash. One of the things about death is that it helps a great deal to see the body and formally bid your loved one good bye. In this case many will be lucky to bury even a handful of body parts positively identified by DNA and the process could take weeks.
I managed to get access to a TV version of the service and was moved to tears. I cried because many of those onboard were so young. Still so full of life and with much more left to contribute. But alas their lives were snuffed out so cruelly.
Kumekucha takes this opportunity to bid farewell to the passengers and crew of flight 507. May your deaths not be in vain. May the good Lord heal the deep wounds of those left behind and may we all be inspired from now henceforth to realize that we all have but a short time and we must endeavor never to waste a minute but to always strive to leave at least some small footprint on the sands of time before “our number is called up.”
Amen.
