Historically the seat of principal assistant to the President of Kenya has always been a hot political patoto. Deputy President William Ruto was the most powerful man to ever hold this post between 2013 and 2016 and has always looked solidly in control. But something happened in late 2016 and there is also a lot happening now that suggests the end of a struggle for survival is much closer than most Kenyans think. And contrary to what most analysts think it is NOT going to end well for Kenya.
