Con Artist impersonates uhuru Kenyatta's voice and earns 80 million kenya shillings from it

In 2019, a con artist in Kenya successfully impersonated then-President Uhuru Kenyatta's voice and swindled a prominent company out of KSh 80 million. The man, who had a remarkable ability to mimic voices, used this skill to deceive the management of a well-established firm owned by businessman Naushad Merali. He posed as the president, convincing executives to make large payments under the guise of a government-related contract.

The fraud was discovered when a series of suspicious transactions caught the attention of the authorities. The scam involved the creation of fake documentation and the manipulation of company staff who believed they were following presidential directives. The incident raised concerns about security vulnerabilities, particularly in the corporate and government sectors.

Kenyan authorities launched an investigation into the fraud, and the con artist's actions were exposed as part of a wider scheme to exploit corporate trust and governmental authority. The incident serves as a stark reminder of the importance of verifying communication from high-level offices to prevent similar scams in the future.
