Why Is Kenyan Media Firing Journalists For Comedians?
There have been massive layoffs of journalists in recent days and weeks. And in some instances these journalists have been replaced by popular comedians? How does this make business sense? What should we expect to see going forward? What will the Kenyan media scene look like 5 years from now? Indeed the stage was set for the current crisis in the Kenyan media a few decades ago when a major media house in the country made a decision that looked like a good one to those who were not industry insiders.
