The unfolding events in Uganda have sent shock waves right across the region. In Tanzania it has re-energized an opposition that had previously been tamed into meek submission. Suddenly world attention is focused on a Tanzania that has rapidly reversed democratic strides made over the last 25 years literally overnight and almost unnoticed by many outside the country.
