One of the things that Kenyans should look for in their next president is a man who can selflessly fight corruption with a vengeance, even at the risk of losing their own lives. Yep, this corruption thing is just not going to be uprooted so easily. Yet getting rid of corruption, or reducing it, is a topmost priority for the nation at the moment.
One Kenyan who has already displayed this quality and shows no signs of letting up any time soon is former ethics PS John Githongo.
Once again we appeal to him (we know he reads this blog regularly) to consider standing for the highest office in the land. Thee are those analysts who would be quick to point out that he is the wrong tribe. But that would be beside the point. By declaring his interest in the highest office in the land, Githongo can attract a lot of international attention to the Kenyan elections, which would be invaluable considering the games we are already seeing being put into motion.
Kenya needs you to stand for President, John.
Search engines can give you huge traffic. Here's how a Kenyan company can get thousands of visitors to their site daily.
This is indeed a galant Kenyan. He has overlooked his tribe and put the interests of our beautiful country first. This has led to him being maligned and already some disenchanted people are doing the rounds in various blogs claiming that he has deviant sexual tendencies.
ReplyDeleteAll Kenyans must stand with Mr. Githongo as he puts up a one man's gallant fight against corruption giants.
ReplyDeleteAnoymoud
Not sure, he has sold his home country for a teaspoonful of the queen's baked beans.
ReplyDeleteNo difference from Raila's running around airing his home country's dirty laundry.
Clearly Kibaki is no saint but He has got the ECONOMY up and running. Before we let the socialists come in and start sharing it out we should at least let him to get it walking...right now it has just learnt how to crawl.
Hi Chris
ReplyDeleteI for one stand by Mr.Githongo-a man who has shown some degree of integrity and professionalism
Indeed, i would stand by anyone else who stands for truth and integrity
Lack of integrity is the #1 reason i won't vote for the current government again
Recording someone as you talk to them knowingly and leadingly (sic) is definately not a sign of professionalism...lets not call this man a professional, he isnt a saint either..I definately would not think of Githongo for president...he is better of in the CID!!
ReplyDeletewho wuld hav believed him if he dint tape?not a matter of wat he did or how he did it but a matter of WHY he did it.for kenya.u and me....githongo for president.
ReplyDeleteChris, I'm still holding out last minute hopes that man Githosh will pull out a last-minute suprise announcement....one that will broadcast all over the media stations in Kenya as "Special Breaking News"...that he's running for the top job in Kenya for 2007, to the joy of wananchi all the world over.
ReplyDeleteJohn...if you ever read this, we haven't forgotten you. You're still the MAN. Go for the president's job...you've proven yourself.
John Githongo for President, 2007.
