Seven Signs That The Kibaki Government Is Corrupt

There are those who have been reluctant to bring themselves to believe that the Kibaki government is corrupt. Apart from the new tapes released by John Githongo, here are 7 clear signs to prove that there is plenty of corruption at the heart of the Kibaki administration:

1.Increasingly regular visits to State House by suspected drug lords like John Harun Mwau and Juja MP William Kabogo.

2. Visits to State House by numerous delegations asking for favors in exchange for support. In other more mature democracies this may pass off as normal political horse trading. In Kenya it is not. Moe so when you consider the fact that at the beginning of his tenure President Kibaki turned away numerous delegations at the State house gate. So what caused the change of heart?

3. President Kibaki's recent moves of warming up to the former president Moi who epitomizes corruption and whose successful tactics at political survival have always included evil and corrupt means. Secondly, warming up to President Moi means that Kibaki has something in common with the former president. Both now have a lot to hide and lots of ill-gotten wealth to protect.

4. The change in the heart of donors who prefer to be called development partners, they were warm and friendly to Kibaki at the beginning of his tenure. What happened? There can only be one explanation; they realized what was going on. Namely corruption tupu.

5. The former permanent secretary for ethics and governance based at State House, John Githongo flees for his life after loosing the battle to fight corruption. If you doubt the other signs, this one, you cannot ignore.

6. The Kibaki government fails to prosecute those involved in the Goldenberg scandal after spending hundreds of millions of shillings in taxpayers money in a useless commission of inquiry into the affair. Somebody simply paid off somebody else to leav the matter alone. And guess where the buck stops?

7. The failure by the government to deal with the Artur brothers who were known to be international criminals dealing with drugs and guns. On the contrary, they were offered protection by local security agencies including the police and criminal investigations department.

Any more signs from readers out there to prove this case for voters?
