It has been reported that Mageta island Police officers (Mageta island is in Bondo, Nyanza province) are now using their personal bedrooms to lock up women suspects.
Any Kenyan woman who has been unfortunate enough to land in the hands of police officers will immediately tell you what that means. Women suspects are frequently raped when they are in police cells, so what do you think will happen to them now that they are being locked up in police officer’s bedrooms?
Area DC Fred Mutsami admitted to the press during a recent visit that he was shocked to find that the women’s cells were "right inside the officer’s houses". The policemen at the police post explained that there was a huge shortage of space and that was why the police officers were forced to accommodate women suspects in heir bedrooms.
Sadly in an election year such as the one we are in, all other news that is supposed to attract national attention and outcry like in thus case, is hardly ever noticed.
The truth of the matter is that any woman suspect locked up in these sort of cells should be set free by any court that finds her guilty of any offence, because she will have already suffered more than enough punishment for whatever it is she may have done.
Search engines can give you huge traffic. Here's how a Kenyan company can get thousands of visitors to their site daily.
There is an outrage when it comes to women and the way we are handled. The main problem is that the Goverment does not want to wash its linen in public and the women are too scared to say anything. When all is said and done, we will always endure such humiliations unless we stand up for ourselves with the help of a few good men and FIDA of course.
