If you want to find plenty of customers and right away for whatever you deal with you must find that place where your BEST prospects are congregated in large numbers right now. The following two rules for qualifying a "place" are very important;

1. The number of people has to be high because not everybody will buy. If your idea of large numbers is about 10 prospects then most likely you will end up selling to one. Or two or three if you are extremely lucky. If it is 1000 chances are that you will do 100 at the very minimum.

2. Your prospects must be as close to each other as possible. That way you can reach them quickly and that is the only way you will be able to find plenty of customers right away which is what we are all about in here.

Let's look at one example of my own personal get-plenty-of-customers-right-away operations of the past.

This new company selling solar panels were in a fix. Not a single sale had been made. So we started by trying to figure out where the customers were congregated. We found them in a coffee growing area not far from Nairobi. Folks in the area had good houses (evidence that they had the money because at that time solar panels were NOT cheap). The houses were fairly close to one another. We managed to generate sales of over 100 solar panels in that area alone that had about 500 homes.

The second example is of a movie shop in town that was hit by stiff competition and no sales. Which group of people consumes movies and series in large volumes? University students of course. So we had two options, appoint representatives within the campus or move the movie shop as close as possible or even within the campus.

Where are your the vast majority of your potential customers congregated? Facebook and social media? Or is it in offices and businesses in town? Or are they in the industrial district where all the factories are situated in your town or city? In yet another scenario they could be in the homes in a certain large housing estate.

At this point do not worry about what to do after you have found out where your best prospects are. Finding them is in itself is quite a challenge that needs all your focus and concentration. And so focus on finding them first.

Finally remember that when you manage to generate a large volume of customers quickly, it tends to attract other customers equally quickly. Referrals and people who are suddenly eager to buy because others are buying in large numbers. I kid you not, that is human nature and you cannot argue with it as ridiculous as it often is. 

Is It Really Possible To Get Plenty Of Customers Right Away When My Sales Have Been So Low? Is It Practical?

No matter how well or badly a business is doing the owner will always have certain expectations. Most folks are grateful for a handful of sales, especially if the economy is doing badly. They may not know it but what they are actually doing is limiting themselves and their profits and success... forever.

What you wish for is precisely what you get. Start the day wishing that you at least get 5K and chances are that you will make 2K or 3K that day or 0.

The limit is more often than not, the best sales one has ever done. And so if you usually sell a certain amount at your shop/business every day and one day you do double that figure, you will be delighted. If you do double the best sales you have ever done, you will be over the moon. And yet you can easily do ten times that figure or even more. Sadly that is the difference between a company you admire like Coca Cola or Google and that company you have never heard of... and you will never hear of.

Selling more and making more profits starts with perception. To cut a long story short the company did NOT achieve 1.2 Million monthly sales as I had projected. That figure was way off. We achieved 2 million monthly!!

As you start on this journey to get plenty of customers be wary of the skeptics. They will be very many on your path to new heights and success and they will often be very convincing.

Bottom line the problem with your low sales has much more to do with what is going on inside your mind and the limits you have set for yourself. That is a much bigger issue here than your prospects out there. You must remove ALL limits you have set for yourself before you can reach out to your prospects.

Kenya's First Woman Governor Coming But Oh My What A Political Battle It Will Be?

Kenya has no single woman governor. But I can tell you for sure, barring something extra-ordinary happening between now and the general elections next year, the country will receive its' very first Madam Governor.

Ann Waiguru will be doing a lot of this to get the JUBILEE ticket for Governor of Kirinyaga

And I can even tell you from which county. Kirinyaga County of course.

Unfortunately I cannot tell you which of the two most recognizable women in the country will end up winning the seat. Martha I-support-Uhuru-but-will-not-join-JUBILEE Karua versus Ann Scandal-allegations-Kibao Waiguru is set to be one of the most fascinating political battles in the history of our dear country. But the battle will start and end with the primaries. Let me explain.

Actually it should have been a straight forward land-slide victory for Martha who is so wildly popular in Kirinyaga that she has never lost a single elections there (I am not counting the presidential ballot where she was a candidate in 2013). 

In fact why don't we start with those election results to illustrate why Martha is going to have some serious problems contrary to what I said in this earlier post.

In those 2013 polls the president received a total of 231,868 votes representing a staggering 96.7% of the votes cast. Home town girl Martha received a paltry 2,438. Even Raila beat the iron lady in her home town gannering a respectable (for him in the area) 3,471 votes.

In them votes is a very clear story. The voters who have never abandoned Martha in decades simply did not see her when voting. She was NOT in JUBILEE and anybody not in JUBILEE in Kirinyaga might as well not be in the ballot.

This is further illustrated by what happened yesterday when the president and his deputy visited Kirinyaga. Martha was there to wlecome him. They even hugged fondly with the head of state. But when Martha stood to speak something strange happened. She was wildly cheered as she made her way to the podium but when she opened her mouth to speak she was drowned by shouts of JUBILEE. The other candidate, Ann Waiguru (did not speak). Read the whole story. In my view this was a smart political move. Give the people time to forget the scandals and get used to her as a candidate, seems to have been the idea. Considering that Kenyans voters DO NOT have the memory of an elephant and are easily swayed by emotions, especially of the tribal nature, this was the only smart play yesterday for Waiguru. In my view had Waiguru tried to speak she wuld have been greeted by defeaning... SILENCE.

So the question now is how will Kirinyaga vote? Blindly for JUBILEE or will they forgive their favourite daughter, Martha for being in the wrong party and throw some votes her way if she soldily supports President Uhuru's re-election?

For any seasoned political analyst on Kenyan politics that question is a no-brainer. The Kirinyaga folks will blindly vote JUBILEE (even if it is Raila who will be given the ticket). End of story.

However having analyzed politics in this our country for decades now, I can tell you that Martha will in the end be forced to abandon her principles and join JUBILEE. And if for some reason she doesn't she will lose. It is as simple as that. 

No politician likes a brusing battle and it is for that reason that Ann Waiguru's the-most-expensive-handlers-money-can-buy will find a strategy to keep Karua away from JUBILEE. That is all they have to do to win. In fact after Waiguru has been declared they can pack their bags and go to sleep and wake up to listen to the election results whilst extremely bored at how predicatble it is going to be.

And that my dear friends is where the brusing political battle for the Kirinyaga governsorship will be... in the primaries and especially in the pre-primaries stage which by the way has already started.

Another very likely scenario which will be even more exciting to behold, will be Martha sticking to her guns and going door to door to tell her people why they need to vote for her and Uhuru. And why they will need to grit their teeth and wince in great pain when they tick a non-JUBILEE box for governor.

Anyway let us attempt to look at the strengths and weaknesses of the JUBILEE government which came into power in 2013 and is set to return to the people to seek another five year term sometime in 2017.

Strengths;

Efficiency
There is no doubt that the Uhuruto government has been one of the most efficient governments since Independence (if not the most efficient). Like them or not, the truth of the matter is that this government gets things done. The fact that the same government has also instigated the highest injection of young talent into government since Independence definitely has a lot to do with this welcome efficiency.

Benefits to the wananchi have been numerous. Probably the most visible is the Huduma centre project which has made it possible for folks to get things done in a fraction of the time it previously took trekking from one government office to another.

Security 
A few months into the Uhuruto administration the country went through a series of terrorist attacks by al Shabaab militants. You could literally smell the fear in the air. Sadly this had a major impact on tourist arrivals which we are yet to fully recover from. However credit has to go to Uhuruto for fixing this. Admittedly this security issue is something they inherited from the previous Kibaki regime. The fixing was done mainly by tapping into the skills and experience of military men starting with the appointment of a politician from the opposition who also happens to be an ex-soldier, Joseph Nkaissery.

Today terror attacks are a thing of the past and the few incidences we still hear of are always close to the border with Somalia. The improvement in security has been nothing short of dramatic.

Reached out to areas that did not vote JUBILEE
Kudos to the duo for the major efforts that have been made to reach out to areas that are a stronghold of the opposition. One could argue that the motive here was selfish and aimed at weakening the opposition for the next general elections. However we have also seen what previous governments have done and the policy and attitude to areas that did not vote for them. Right from the Moi years to the Kibaki years. And so credit has to be given to Uhuruto for behaving maturely and nationally... as they should.


Weaknesses;

Corruption
No prizes for guessing what has to be number one in terms of weaknesses of the Uhuruto regime. Corruption. Corruption. Corruption. The amounts of cash in public funds that has been lost is crazily high. No doubt the opposition will cash in on this single most obvious weakness when the campaigns begin.

Tribalism
In this day and age I am ashamed to mention the fact that tribalism is alive and well and has been very much alive and well in the Uhuruto government. We have qualified folks from most of the other tribes of Kenya who can also be loyal to the government of the day. Why have they always been ignored? Why should a deserving Kenyan lose an opportunity because they are the "wrong tribe"?

Spin
The spin machine within State house has been putting a spin to all kinds of nasty truths. And at times they have had very little regard for the facts or truth of the matter. There is nothing wrong painting a government in good light, it is done all over the world. However hii yao imekua excess.

My score to Uhuruto is a generous 40% (they have not totally failed. And they have NOT attained a pass mark either. Not good enough for Kenyans I have to say.
