Breaking News - Reliable rumours From The streets of Nairobi
Editor's note:
Readers should note that the "sacked" General's tenure had already been extended against the laid down rules for one tenure of 4 years only. But I guess what is being said here is that the second tenure came to an abrupt end because of corruption. Gen Kibwana was appointed in 2000 by the then President Daniel Arap Moi.

The Most Exciting Thing To Happen in Kenya Since Dec 12th 1963
On the day when the leading story in local newspapers is about AG Amos Wako going off to a secret location to draft the new constitution, that is doomed to be rejected by the people of Kenya, and when a commentary in the Daily Nation talks about President Kibaki “outfoxing them all”, a wind of refreshing change is quietly sweeping across the nation of Kenya.
This morning I received an email from the email address newleadershipforkenya at yahoo.com. no doubt one of the many initiatives by young Kenyans (of which this blog is one of them) to bring about positive changes in our beloved country and to send the blundering wazess (who have blundered and eaten enough) home to rest.
The email was brief and simply stated that there was a possibility of persuading Titus Naikuni to stand for President in 2007. The email asked the following questions.
· What are your views on this possible development?
· Do you think Kenya needs new people/faces?
· Do you have a proposal/alternative for political leadership in Kenya?
Regular readers of this blog will know all the answers to those questions as far as we are concerned. But the really exciting thing about this development is that a search for a leader has begun. No doubt numerous other names will be brought forward as 2007 draws closer.
We are strongly of the opinion that the new breed of leaders that Kenya should seek should be of persons born after independence or thereabouts. You can clearly see that the views of Uhuru Kenyatta are constantly different and at loggerheads with those of the old guard who are now firmly in control of the throne of Kenya. These guys most of who fear to merely stand near a computer, let alone surf the net. So if good ‘ol Titus Naikuni falls into this bracket of the young new generation, we will fully back him.
We are NOT putting forward Uhuru Kenyatta’s name because despite the excellent job he has done and continues to do so far, various factors disqualify him including the fact that we are in support of very radical and sweeping change that will bring in totally new faces, preferably Kenyans who have not been in politics before. A totally new generation to start a totally new chapter. Just like things were that heady day of December, the year 1963.
What do you think?

Email letter from a reader
After subjecting LDP to all kinds of frustration, he thinks warming up to them at his hour of desperation will be acceptable? He promised to pass the Ghai Draft in 100 days-what went wrong?
There was an M.O.U. – why did he rubbish it on entry to State House?
On signing the M.O.U. at the Nairobi Hilton, it was agreed that whoever ascends to the presidency will serve for one term only-why the change of heart?
Me and you know the answers. For the sake of the majority, we will not allow this opportunist and his family/friends to continue ‘sodomising’ us under the guise of providing an enabling environment for economic development.
During the referendum we should vote ‘NO’ twice on the ballot paper. This will indicate your verdict on the Mt. Kenya draft and on the current government. Period.

The day Kibaki’s total man was banned from the UK: Untouchable interior CS who was "touched" by the UK Chris Murungaru
The people of Kenya thank the British government for doing our President’s work for him. Maybe if the British government forwarded a presidential candidate for the next general elections they would end up being more sensitive to the people’s needs than our very own (sad but the truth).
The truth is that those in the new Kibaki regime have been pushed into corruption because they felt threatened by those who gained immense and unimaginable wealth during the Moi era who are still very much around. In fact these lucky, shameless and immoral people are still walking the streets of Nairobi and enjoying their ill-gotten gain in greater peace and comfort than most Kenyans struggling to make ends meet.
The legacy of Jomo Kenyatta lives on and the gap between the haves and have-nots continues to widen. So all the Kibaki team needs to do in 2007 is release lots of cash to starving and desperate Kenyans and they’ll be voted back in.
LDP and company, if you guys don’t have cash for 2007, you’re done.

Trouble in Kenya
The international press is full of images of violence and looting in Nairobi streets.
I am worried because as we have said many times before in this blog, it would only take a very small spark to set off the time bomb that leaders in Kenya have been perfecting over the years. More so the Narc regime of broken promises and policies that have only sunk Kenyans deeper into poverty.
Some of these people having it good at high walled residences in Muthaiga and other high-income areas are worse than the looters now rampant on Nairobi streets. One grabbed land, which many Kenyans lost their lives for. The sons of many are enjoying themselves in Western capitals around the world.
As usual the Narc government has ignored the disease and chosen to address the symptoms.
I fear that it is a little late now, but I pray that I am proved wrong, for the sakes of the weak, the old, the women and children – all innocent Kenyans suffering for the sins of our leaders since independence.

Odingas have no love lost for Tom Mboya: A Readers Email Questions answered here…
Out of curiosity-who is behind this site? By the way you must be aware that the Odinga Foundation has started an award to honor nationalists/freedom fighters. The first one has been given to Pio Gama Pinto posthumously of course. Am sure they have no love lost for TJ.
By the way, why are we so sure that he would have been different from Kenyatta & Co.? Do we have politicians that think of the common man and then themselves second? Is that realistic in a capitalist system?
RK, Nairobi.
Answer
Very good questions.
Will in fact publish this questions and answers in the blog if you do not mind.
You will notice that the really selfless politicians have been wiped out as quickly as they have emerged. JM Kariuki is another example and so is Mboya of course.
People Like Kimani Wa Nyoike were fixed by being sent to prison and now he's virtually finished. Yes, capitalist societies produce heroes all the time.
Wherever human life exists, heroes will tend to emerge, people who make a big impact in changing things. We should all strive to fill in this role now as our country badly needs selfless heroes just now.
I have no idea who is behind the Mboya site but it speaks volume that there should be a Mboya site and no a Jomo Kenyatta or even a JM Kariuki site. Mboya was just execeptional. He had his weaknesses but he
did make a huge difference by taking very big risks.
My prayer is that another similar Kenyan woman's son will emerge some day.

(Article by a channel commentator on the Kumekucha Chris YouTube channel)
However, the reasons Ruto wanted to be President are what would shock you:- you see, he has always been fascinated by unbridled personal power, boundless personal wealth and wide personal fame , ever since he set his eyes up close on Mr. Moi and watched him 'perform' . Mr. Moi co-opted him and other young, reckless thugs into YK'92, to help him shore up his then besieged and tottering regime...A celebrated boxing champion is among Kenyans who lost their lives during the anti-government protests on Wednesday 12th July 2023.
