Breaking News: First Lady Attacks MC at State Function

This afternoon shocking news is emanating from State House Nairobi that first Lady Lucy Kibaki assaulted the Master of Ceremony at presidential award ceremony held at State House Gardens after the State Luncheon following the Jamhuri Day celebrations at Nyayo Stadium.

Helpless dignitaries sitting at the presidential dais were shocked by the actions of the First Lady who slapped the MC several times and calmly walked back to her seat infront of dignitaries, school children and press cameras. She was apparently reacting to a misrepresentation by the MC who referred to her as the Honourable Mrs Lucy 'Wambui', an obviously regrettable slip of the tongue. President Kibaki did not move from his seat and the function was said to have proceeded after the MC was led away by security agents. Infact the President and a smiling First Lady were shown on prime news making the traditional lap of honour within the state house gardens immediately after the function.

Nation Media, which was reportedly the only independent media group at the function, had their camera man summoned to a private room within the state house grounds and the footage of the incident erased from the tapes in their presence. Still photos were also reportedly destroyed.

This is not the first time reports of personalities being slapped at state house. Exactly a month ago, on 12th November 2007, this blogger had posted a story on an alleged assault within state house precincts.

This blogger will attempt to get more information (read footage) of this unfortunate incident and report back as the story develops.

  1. Lucy is bidding Kenyans goodbye in "a ceremonious" manner. Good luck former first lady!

  2. True or not, such antics are in line with the trials and tribulations of Kibakis polygamous homestead. In my eyes, Lucy should have slapped that MC like silly. Respect must be afforded to our dear first lady….esp. now that Kibaki is garnishing our lowly wages to pay her Ksh. 500,000.00 per month.

Anyway, other than the obvious, who is to blame for Kalonzos’ terrible and persistent heckling and jeering in his very own Ukambani backyard? Me says PNU perpetrators

  5. Lucy was perfectly in order, just imagine if lucy were prezo then the mc introduces mwai as mwiraria, don't you think it is disrespectful. And by the way in nyeri it is normal for women to slap around jamas when they have messed up.My ex was from nyeri and this was normal.I think this is why mwai opted for wambui.
    Happy holidays.

  6. If the Daily Nation was at this function, why did the editors find Lucy's delporable actions something not newsworthy? And if the KBC was there, why did they edit their footage? These are the nation's premier media groups and they can't give us news in its totality? What a shame.

But once again we see why President Kibaki cannot be reelected. His supporters may find such behavior funny, something to muse about. Yet for those who love and respect the flag of our nation, the sacrifices of men like Field Marshall Dedan Kimathi, Jaramogi Oginga Odinga, General China, Ramogi Achien`g Oneko, Bildad Kaggia and Jomo Kenyatta, to see a first lady who behaves worse than an adolescent in the nation's most hallowed grounds is no laughing matter. Shame on Lucy. And shame on the man who calls her "My dear wife."

    This is why elections matter!

  7. Common Phil give Hon First Lady a break. She is only being natural in protecting her turf. Did you expect her to smile at such an obtuse goof? Once with Moody is excusable but another 'nobody' no please. Wambui can claim greatness by latent association but Lucy must remain visible and if that involves working the palms why not? Imagine some nobody insinuating that your .5m will soon be shared with Mary whose face leaves you looking like a genocide?

  8. Lucy Kibaki is a disgrace to Kenya and Kenyans. The office of the first lady in my opinion has outlived its usefulness at least in Kenya. Let us have "The President's wife" from next year.

  9. Can't believe that some people are still trying to protect her. A good friend tells you when you are wrong...guess the PNU supporters justifying this behaviour are worse than Lucy...

  10. Office of First Lady be abolished because of an individual? Vikii, listen to yourself for one moment...

Next you will be telling us for the Presidency to be abolished because of a Kibaki goof...

  11. This is a total disgrace. First Lady women look up to you as their role model but when this happens!!!!!!!! this can be resolved in a reasonable way.

  12. I wonder how many more have been slapped. Maybe if we form a truth and reconciliation committee they will come out and demand an apology from the 1st lady. But truth be told i tend to agree with Caroline Mutoko of KISS FM if i were in her shoes and some goon calls me by my co-wife's name then he would have gotten much more (lol). Na je hii kazi ya kuzabana makofi iendelee?

Coming from the first lady it is a most deplorabel behaviour in total disregard of the lwa or are some people above the law? if so then am sorry for Kenya.
