Kalonzo’s Cheque Bounces

archive

"Refer to drawer," bank scribbles on cheque.

As Presidential hopeful Kalonzo Musyoka turned up to collect his nomination papers a lady debt collector giggled for over a minute when she heard that the Mwingi North MP was waving a cheque of Kshs one million.

She then proceeded to tell Kumekucha an interesting story and provided documentary proof of what she was saying. Some time back the Mwingi North MP purchased some solar equipment for his constituents from a company called Kenital Solar who are situated along Ngong Road, fairly close to the City Mortuary and paid for it by cheque. The cheque worth just a few hundred thousand bounced.

“So if he bounces a cheque of about Kshs 300,000, what tells you that his Kshs one million cheque will be honored by the bank?” she giggled in glee tears coming out of her eyes.

“I think you have something personal against the Mwingi North MP,” I told her. After all the cheque here is a banker’s cheque. I think he really made you chase for the debt and probably never paid you.

She admitted that she was given a serious run around and in the end left the company when the debt had yet to be settled.

I am aware that many of my regular readers are Kalonzo supporters who would never dream of letting the facts get in the way of their sworn love for their preferred candidate. However I have published this information so that the rest of the Kenyans can know the character of these guys we are dealing with here. It is also safe to assume that Raila, Ruto and the others have also issued plenty of bouncing cheques in their time, save for probably Uhuru Kenyatta who has shillings literally pouring out of his ears.

  1. Whatever Kalonzo's motive, he was upto some political statement. The fear is that it might have backfired or gained him little mileage.

The juvenile antics only expose him and all his competitors as people singularly driven by selfish motives bereft of any common good. Waving a million shillings cheque to a populace mired in abject poverty is the height of insensitivity.

But KM is not alone and he may have been just borrowing cheap showbiz antics from his rivals who shamelessly parade their wealth to the same starving Kenyans. The live TV launch of the so-called visions was nothing but oppulence at its peak. In short all these chaps only humble themselves before to secure our votes that will guarantee them key to the national purse. But are we listening or watching? Take your pick but I fear your guess is as good as mine.

  2. Have we run shot of anything concrete that we can direct to kalonzo? This is the cheapest piece of shit i have read in the last 5 years.

Kalonzo has been earning close to a million shillings every month for the last 25 years. Knowing how hard he works to keep his personal life personal and secret, i will not be suprised to learn that KM is one of the richest people in kenya. And even if he were not rich, do u people seriously think a million shillins is that much? That's about 7000 US dollars and I am sure he had that in his account even before he turned 35. His Karen home looks a BBQ place in New York city. Even if you guys hate him i must tell you that is stooping too low. This article is plain cheap

Kalonzo was 'waving' a cheque but i dont think that is opulence. Lets throw the bile to those who set the fees. as far as i know kalonzo, uhuru, nyagah, umar and william ruto were against these fees. so we all know who the mastermind of the feees project was. Even if you are rich you dont go telling everybody how rich u are. It is rumoured that Uhuru kenyattas top employees could be richer than raila odinga but when u look at the two men u wud be 4given to think raila is the president of the federal reserve bank while uhuru is the deputy HT of some one streamed high school.

Moral: we can tell new money when we see it.

  3. Well, i aint getting into the money part of it but lest to say we should evaluate whom we choose at the polls. Yeasterday we had a forum organised by KickTaNet, a locat ICT champion forum. Despite all of the confirming their coming, none of them showed up. They forum was meant for the Presidential aspirant to ariculate their ICT agenda, upon election....it was a pity!
