William Gakuo, Uhuru's brother-in-law, passed away, and the Kenyatta family has been in sorrow ever since.
Former First Lady Margaret Kenyatta's younger brother, Gakuo, passed away at the age of 48.
On Wednesday, November 6, he passed away at his Karen home.
Gakuo committed suicide, according to the police.
According to Sheila, his wife, Gakuo was discovered hanging from the hallway that led to his bedroom, with a suicide note.
The case is still being investigated.
Sheila Wanjiku Mwangi, the deceased's wife, is left behind, per a family statement.
"We announce William's passing with great sadness and humble acceptance of God's will. The statement read, "Brother of Gabriela, Maina, Christine, and Margaret."
On November 12, Gakuo's remains will be cremated at the Hindu Crematorium in Kariokor, Nairobi.
The deceased was born in the Kangema constituency of Murang’a County to German mother Magdalena Njuguna and former Kenya Railways Corporation director Dr. Ephantus Njuguna Gakuo.
In 1964, the year Mama Margaret was born, Dr. Njuguna succeeded GPG Mackay as managing director of Kenya Railways, becoming the first African to hold the position.
He assumed control after receiving his PhD in Economics from Freiberg University and returning from a year of teaching in Germany.
After 12 years in this position, Dr. Njuguna left in 1976 to attend William's birth.
In 2005, he passed away. According to reports, he was involved in Uhuru's meeting Margaret, which resulted in a marriage and the blessing of children.
In many families, suicide has been the primary cause of death.
According to the World Health Organization, these incidents are linked to financial hardships, legal issues, scholastic demands or failures, unemployment, and mortality.
Additional causes include bullying, past suicide attempts, family history of suicide, substance abuse and alcoholism, depression, and Bipolar disorder.
People who experience suicidal thoughts are encouraged to consult a therapist for counseling. They might also seek out family members and friends who they can confide in about their anxieties or disease.
