Muthaura Flown to SA, Still Working from ICU

Hitherto energetic and never-tiring Head of Public Service Francis Muthaura has been flown to South Africa for further treatment. His doctors could not take chances after confirming that arteries in and out of his heart are THINNING. Such calcification is sure recipe for massive stroke. In fact the government has gambled with PS of all PSs, he should have been flown to London.

At least our sensational media can now rest easy after their object of hate and speculation has been relocated to Johannesburg. But Muthaura’s hospitalization leaves a gaping hole that can plunge Kenya into deep administrative problems. For starters he has no deputy and has been competently running this country single handed albeit chronically partisan.

But we must take heart from Dr. Mutua’s assurance that Mzee Muthaura will be back behind his desk in less than two weeks. We have no cause to doubt Alfred, he must know better, after all he is a doctor, isn’t he? In any case he never suffers whiners lightly no matter the might whether junior senator of Illinois or not.

Kenya cannot do without the veteran PS Muthaura. His work rate is phenomenon and above all unrivalled. What is more, even in the face of calamity, the good old man can at least afford a half grin, nay smile, for the first time even if on a stretcher. The old man can take just so much pressure after more than 10 years no leave.

Massive stroke
Heading civil service is a 24 hour duty while politicians snore in parliament. Muthaura’s energy is incredible. With no deputy, he was still working from his HDU bed. Kenyan media must also learn to respect the office of government spokesman. Our penchant to distrust official channels only succeeds in feeding destructive rumours.

In the meantime we must collectively wish the good ambassador well as he confronts his own mortality. Who knows, may be this scare would offer him the opportunity to contemplate the highly partisan and polarizing role he has played in the grand coalition in addition to toxic politicization of the civil service.

Hopefully the NDE and scent from ICU next door will transform him into a better man. God bless the unofficial emperor.

  1. Wish him a speedy recovery.

    What is baffling is that a procedure as routine as bypass for congestive heart failure cannot be treated in hospitals in Kenya in this day and age, close to 50 odds after independence?

    In the west, for most public officials holding public office, they are required to live in the county or borough that they represent. Their children required to go to the schools in the same area. It is the only sure way to improve on services such as schools, roads, hospitals in their locales.

    How I wish this would hold true in Kenya, so that most of these thugs in parliament would really know and feel what ails the common mwananchi.

  4. Taabu,

    Muthaura did not eat or take your maize to South Sudan; it was Fidel Odinga who did it. Get it in your minyoo head.

  5. The movie in town is the slow castration of Raila by Ruto and viewing is free!!!!!!!!

  6. It serves them right. Instead of developing our hospitals they fight imaginary enemies and buy 4WDs. now is payback time. Its only unfortunate the same taxpayers foot the burden.
    And a health minister can dare tell students in some remote part of nyanza that if they contact swine flu the govt. will treat them free of charge. If the govt. cannot do the same then why is it there in the first place. Thats your duty Mrs. govt;

  8. Too much drama in Kenya, now this congested heart, others going blind, others blacking out of diabetes and so on. Oh, well, like John Maina I'll wish them all a rapid exit. Too costly for tax payers.

  9. While at it,can we also add molasses to the list of those who expire quickly when he next goes abroad for his regular treatment.Idiots!

  10. why do people argue when they are told whites are superior? South Africa has world class hospitals that were set up by whites.

  11. Taabu,

    Raila could be the next one on that stretcher with failed arteries given that he is older and works harder than Muthaura. And the number of people to wish him a quick exit would be more than well-wishers going by the votes he got in the last elecions. Get the gist? That is the kind of country we are living in where political opponents wish each other death instead of defeat.

    Tumekua Mashetani!!!!!

  12. Why is Ruto determined to castrate Raila? Is it just political rivalry or is there more to it? Please, someone out there with the inside story, help!

  13. In blogs, newspapers and TV, Muthaura's shadow looms large even from an ICU bed thousands of miles away.

    But as always, Kenyans get it wrong about this old man. Stop hating the man, hate his office!

    Even if Muthaura was to be replaced this second, nothing would change. And that also applies to the much hated Amos Wako and police boss Gen Ali.

    Reform their institutions from top to bottom and make them transparent and accountable. Properly define their roles and mandate!

    Note that Muthaura would never do anything contrary to what his boss wants. He must get that blink or nod from some faceless power brokers.

    Don't hate the player, hate the game!

  14. What a sad state of affairs when a citizen wishes death on another.

  15. The fight between Ruto and Raila (the two Rs) will end with neither of them gaining. Both of them will lose leadership. You cant win through bringing others down! Ruto is nothing without Raila and Raila would have gotten nothing without Ruto. Ruto cant get votes from Central - Ruto is becoming myopic. Difference in opinion does not mean split.

  16. I, Beelzebub, have an open invitation for this evil man Mutharua. He is the man who served Joram, the evil King, who served the false god Baal. Remember what God told these evil rulers.

    God told these evil rulers they would die terrible deaths.

    And terrible deaths they died.

    Welcome HOME Muthaura. Welcome.

  17. Raila should not contest presidency 2012, we want young blood, we want Ruto. and why does dr Mututa lie even in death? who drove who to nbi hosp?? who ate uganli in london?

  18. Taabu, you have become the self-appointed troop leader of the mashetani forces that wish other Kenyans death at Kumekucha.

    Taabu, do you remember the story of the jogoo that prayed for the kodoo to be slaughtered for the important guest? Who ended boiling in the sufuria the next day when the important guest failed to turn up? Be careful what you wish others.

  19. Raila and Ruto were not united by ideology, but by hatred for the Kikuyus. It appears that Ruto would like to move away from that corrosive glue of hatred. Raila is still stuck in that sewer of hatred, delusion and paranoia, and hence the fall-out between the once inseparable thugs.

    As they part, they are busy killing their political careers proving true the old adage that there is no honour among hyaenas.

  20. why do people talk about raila like he will live forever?He is only human and aging.this bullshit about split of ODM is normal and new allies can always be found.Ruto can never be a darling of kikuyus,they can only use him and dump him like they are going to do to kalonzo.besides why do kikuyus think that if ruto leaves ODM that translates into an automatic love for kikuyus by the kalenjins.open your eyes people.kalenjin and kikuyu beef dates back to so many years.it is just that moi presidency supressed it.

    ReplyDelete
  21. With the Kikuyus supporting Kalonzo, Ruto has realized that there is no way Raila will ever be president. Ruto wants to be VP or PM and knows that life is short to be wasted supporting a loser. Even some Luo MPs have sensed the impotence that is slowly embracing Raila and are disobeying him openly. I can sense the beginning of the end as little bulls begin to demarcate territory with urine in the ODM homestead.

    ReplyDelete
  22. a kikuyu can only support another kikuyu period.Kalonzo is not sellable even to kambas he is a traitor goddamn him.

    ReplyDelete
  23. If Luos insist on supporting Raila in 2012, they will be so isolated that they may have to migrate back to South Sudan. Mark my words.

    They will have to let go Odingaism if they will want to survive politically in Kenya, going forward.

  24. It is Kalonzo's turn to take us to the next level assisted by Uhuru and Ruto.

    Let the sun shine ... let it shine ... let it shine forever!

  25. Kenya is not for whiners but doers. It is a land of opportunity for those who know how to network. Ask Raila, he became an overnight billionnaire by hooking-up with Moi and getting energy contracts and th molasses factory.

    ReplyDelete
  26. Kenyan are so superstitious and therefore backward. A death wish on another has no effect. You have to carry out an overt act, like shoot them or poison them. And the fool quoting OT about some king dying a terrible death, if you had a half a brain you would ask yourself if there is a difference between a terrible death and a not so terrible death. Why are people so stupid!

  27. This should be a lesson to those who continue to cling on even after their "use by date". Taking time off work is not a luxury but a necessity that has a bearing on the quality of life and health. It's indeed strange almost naive that Dr. Mutua brags that Ambassador Muthaura has been working for over a decade without taking leave, as if this is a great achievement that should be lauded and emulated. He further declares to all and sundry that Muthaura has had no medical attention over the same period of time. Is this the kind of message our government should be sending? It is common knowledge that routine check ups is very much part of a healthy lifestyle that we should all embrace in order to avoid such expensive and life threatening intervetions that Muthaura faces now.

    ReplyDelete
  28. We pray that Muthaura recovers quickly then takes some leave or considers retirement.Three things man enjoys -sex power and retirement in that order.he should run the following program

    If Muthaura and age>= 60 years;
    Do
    Begin(Muthaura=0)
    Muthaura=Retirement+1
    End

    Else
    Muthaura=stress
    Muthaura=Stress+no leave
    Muthaura=heart disease+stroke
    Do until Muthaura=rest in peace
    Endif
    End

  29. Muthaura and Kibaki I await both of you.Here you will meet: Hitler; Pol Pot; Idi Amin; Jeffrey Dahmer; Wakinyonga; etc.

    Mathaura you and Kibaki will both realise that your money will NOT save you from my hot and comfortable home where only people I like are invited.

    Welcome Home Mutahura. Welcome. Next is Kibaki.

  30. That is the price of working (or pretending to be working) when you should have retired long long time ago.

  31. Raila bewitched Muthaura. PERIOD!

  32. Those praying for Muthaura to die, I aslo wish them very quick departure from this planet earth!

  33. I forgot to add the evil and devilish Jomo Kenyatta to my list of people currently residing in the hot embers of hell.

    p.s. Are Kikuyus so devoid of talent that this useless old foggy Muthaura remains indispensable.

    ReplyDelete
  34. Muthaura is unlikely to survive what hit him. Like farm animals, if you see a hardy bull limp, think of a replacement. Going by Dr. Mutua's hypothesis, 10years no leave + no medical attention = expiry. In fact a mild stroke will set as a result of anxiety caused by imagining someone else sitting in his chair!
    Dr. Mutua is a bright guy. He sent a message only clever guys could fathom. If Muthaura recovers, we'll all be rounded up once the Special Branch boys tell him what Kenyans are saying "the most hated Emperor since Bokasa."

    ReplyDelete
  35. Well, its normal to hate others but wishing somebody death? The 'good' thing is that death is so hidden from man's eyes. You might wish Muthaura, Raila or Kibaki death and end dying before them TODAY in a road accident. Mortality issues are better left to the maker.
