A leading American website quoting official sources has announced that Jeff Koinange is no longer with CNN.
This information comes after weeks of uncertainty when the most famous Kenyan journalist was off-air from CNN for long stretches of time. Jeff was CNN’s Africa correspondent.
The site says that while acknoledging that Jeff had left the network, CNN declined to give further comment over the issue.

Jeff Koinange has been involved in two controversial incidents in recent months one where the Nigeria government accused him of paying people to pose for CNN cameras over the Oil Kidnappings in the Nile Delta. The other was a London date rape incident exclusively reported in this blog. This blogger recently discovered that our headlines which referred to Jeff as a Kenyan were in fact inaccurate as he now travels on an American passport.

Menstruation Odor Causes Marriage To Elude Woman
All women must jubilate. All men must review the dictionary definition of “NO”.
ReplyDeleteChris expect alot of mud on your face as JK gets sacked. Please have an extra padding on you skin because you will rightly or wrongly (depending on who will be 'biling').
ReplyDeletePoor Jeff! If both accussations are proved true then the chap goofed obtusely. Granted, he is a great and famous Kenyan. But I fear that might be the genesis of of his problems. Maybe the 'celeb' bug went to his head although his backers will never accept it. And to rapture the festering wound JK goes liberal with his zip on a granny.
Athletism around the waist is no preserve for any community. And matters above the knee and below the waist are only better imagined and not spoken nor typed so I quit. CNN is no NMG. To them like the sprite advert image is everything and perception if lounder than a bomb blast.
I am in SHOCK.
ReplyDeleteProud "this tribe" woman!
Kumbe this thing was serious. I had thought Jeff was just jerking off in some obscure niger delta thicket, it looks like the irresistable kukumanga got the better of him. What a pity!
ReplyDeleteDon't fret about the flak and shrapnel Chris...the bunker awaits!!!
Happy Chris with your Fourth Rate Journalism! What a pity now and what is the justice. His life will continue. You said he was American, he will not go to Jogoo Road to start a Blog business. He is okay.
ReplyDeleteAnyway, God bless you and Brinner. I hope when she is finished with you to promote Robert Ouko fake dossier and a plagiarized Tom Mboya memoires she will not cry 'rape'. Chris, it is just the colour nothing more. Others, including Moi and Njoroge Mungai (and Jeff) have been there!!!
I wonder what possessed him to madly want an old wrinkly woman like Brinner.
ReplyDelete1 thing for sure is that they were sexually and intimately invovled.
But I find it hard to believe he raped her.
Her conduct confirms just that...firstly she never went to the police and continued correspondence with him even after the alleged "date rape".
Secondly she was willing to forego justice for the rape for a mere interview with CNN and Oprah.
Being British Brinner knows how seriously they treat rape cases why has she never gone to the London police to date?
I think what happened is that they were in a steamy sexual affair and they disagreed.Jeff probably didnt waant to grant her the interviews following which she threatened to come out with the affair and he began to threaten her to stop her destroying his reputation.
Jeff was probably fired for his unethical conduct and the lies.I doubt he was fired bcoz they think he raped her
Chris can this be attributed to you?The stated Kenyan blog seems to have played a huge role in the sacking of the man
ReplyDeleteAnd the only Kenyan blog that has consistently covered the "date rape" is your blog
CNN sacks renowned Kenyan-born journalist
Viewers of Cable News Network (CNN) in the United States were shocked to learn of the dismissal early this week of Jeff Koinange, the flamboyant correspondent based in South Africa.
Media reports in the US quoted a CNN spokeswoman confirming on Tuesday, but without giving further details, that Koinange, a Kenyan-born news reporter, was sent packing.
But a Kenyan-based blogger is said to have published damaging information linking Koinange to a sex scandal.
According to a Washington DC-based online news column run by Richard Prince, a Black American journalist, the Kenyan media blog is reported to have accused Koinange of being “the Kenyan date-rape journalist.”
Ok Chris you win. Are u happy?
ReplyDeleteBy the way C
ReplyDeletewhy is it that u went out of your way to give MB's side of the story without ever seeking to give JK's side of the story??????Or have you always had a personal vendetta against him?
All I can say is that I am gutted that a mean spirited woman who will sleep with anyone for favours has cost Jeff a career.
ReplyDeleteI never beleived her 'I slept with Moi' or many other Kenyan politicians story as this was intended to cover up for her affair with Ouko.
She writes a book that Chris's alter ego at Abunuwasi.com attempted to serialise without much success, wants Jeff to publicise the book and when he cannot deliver, there is a date rape in London followed by suggestive agreement to a 'menages trois' with the daughter!
Chris, I hope you do learn some ethos of journalism. As Phil Collins once sung, listen to both sides of the story.
My mind goes back to your post..."Have you ever been raped?"
ReplyDeleteU should have also had one entitled:"Have you ever been falsely accused of Rape?"
Many western institutions will not even wait for confirmation. Allegations are enough to whip up hysteria.
ReplyDeleteI can't see Jeff raping that old hag. But in the white world, a big black Mandingo can NEVER be trusted.
Yes, if you google "Jeff Koinange rape," kumekucha blog comes out top. If I were Jeff, I would look for you with a lawyer.
Now that I'm out of shock, I can think through this. Was JK really sacked? This may turn out to be what I call convenient thinking on my part-what I want to believe if/when the truth is too difficult to handle.
ReplyDeleteHere's my thinking though. I'd normally think such big 'news' would be followed by mainstream media like it deserves. As it turns out, only the website that this 'Chris' fellow has quoted (in the U.S, no less, where where all his sponsors are based-who needs a sponsorship for blogging?I have no blog, but how much does it cost in American dollars to start, maintain and publicize one?) and another Nigerian (Nigerian, people!) blog (blog, blog, blog-blog watu!) that heard the news through a grapevine (read, kumekucha), reported the sacking.
In any case, Brinner and Co. keep me posted on how this has affected the sales of your books.
Proud 'this tribe' woman!
I dont know what agreement u had with Marianne Brinner, but u were obviously not reporting from an independent point of view. You seem to have no idea of the role this blog has played in the sacking of Koinange.
ReplyDeleteAll the media reports including those in the US and Europe are all referring to rape allegations in an unnamed Kenyan Blog.Your Blog!
"All women must jubilate. All men must review the dictionary definition of “NO”."
ReplyDeleteIn as much as I Don't tolerate rape, whoever posted the above comment must be out of their mind.
We have become a society where money is everything to women and they will use whatever means to acquire it, even accusing someone of Rape. It happened with Robin Van Persie, Kobe Bryant, Mike Tyson and many more... and now JK.
With all the beautiful women available at his disposal, why in hell would JK choose to rape a WRINKLED OLD GRANNY??
Chris, or whatever your name is, I am a regular reader of this blog but this is UNACCEPTABLE. You MUST verify your facts before posting them coz blogs are powerful tools in this age and era.
My question to you is, other than the words of that Bitchy Granny, who by the way seems to have slept with everyone on this planet, maybe even you, WHAT EVIDENCE DO YOU HAVE THAT JK RAPED ANYONE?????
Take that question to bed and maybe it will help you sleep better.
I expect to see Marianne's reaction to the news on this blog since you are in such close contact with her.
ReplyDeleteShe must be preparing herself to laugh all the way to the bank...if her book will sell.
One thing I have always wondered is she claims the rape happened when Jeff went to make a phone call in her bedroom.
ReplyDeleteWhat sort of woman allows a man she has just meet to enter her bedroom to make a call.Kwani both her and jeff didnt have cells. And there were no phones in the reception or anywhere else in the hotel.
And I mean cmon its London....there are simu ya jamii at every turn.
I dont buy her story
Simon says .........,
ReplyDeleteEven women are coming throwing mud at Xris. Gosh, sasa hawa wanawake wata saidiwa namna gani? Ati Xris, are u happy now????
Since when will women wake up? No wonder they cant even use their 51% stake to give us even a credible Ngilu.
Anyway as for stupid men who sleep with women around and think that thing is for free, it will never be and our day is coming home tomorrow. Even the maids' day is coming and it will be a pay back time.
Kumekucha women, wake up to this reality and know that the world of today needs the Xriss of today while the Nation of yester year still prosper in the status quo.
There is nothing wrong with Kumekucha seeking justice for this Brinner if her accusations were really true.
ReplyDeleteBut it was not done in a fair way...when a man is accused of rape he is automatically guilty until he proves himself innocent. That kind of attitude has led to so many pple being unfairly condemned as has been demonstrated in this blog.Rape is a serious thing and should not be used by selfish twisted individuals who are not really seeking justice but there own personal gain
Poor Jeff. My heart and thoughts are with you. If Jeff could be fired for allegations that hold no ground, where is the moral conscience of the Nation Media Group managers who have been branded sex maniacs by my colleagues? For sure, most of the stuff that was posted in the internet by my colleagues about our bosses is 100% true. Women have been laid on the carpets of Nation Centre. Some of the women are have children sired by their bosses. Whether it was consensual sex, it is quite immoral for managers entrusted with positions of authority to use them as a tool of laying their juniors - either in the offices or in lodges to sample which is the best material for employment! If Jeff could be fired over claims made by a woman who has a track history of lying, why can't the conscience of the NMG sex pests prick them into throwing in the towel. CNN cares about its credibility and reputation. Linus Gitahi, Wangethi Mwangi, Joseph Odindo, Nabutolla (who has sired at least 10 kids with sales girls) care less about their own credibility and reputation and that of Nation Media Group. NMG has lost its moral authority since the sex-for-hire-and-promotion was exposed by my colleagues a few months back. Time will tell how long they will continue to clig to their positions.
ReplyDeletePole sana Jeff. You are a victim of mzungu's racial hatred against a prosperous black man.
While I strongly condemn rape, Ms. brinner's correspondence suggests that she was playing along with Jeff. It shouldn't have surprised her therefore that s.e.x. was on his mind (what with mentions of brazilian waxes, p***y eating, menage trios, etc). I mean, seriously? I'm a woman, I understand rape and I understand that sometimes, we're accused of inviting it. But she spent months creating fantasies with him: what did she expect, a peck on the chick? It's possible that she was raped, but again, she traded her dignity and esteem for a shot at fame and fortune, and it appears that when it didn't work, she cried foul.
ReplyDeleteThat aside, when a woman commented here about the possibility of disease, I'm sure she didn't expect Ms. brinner to blog about it. Where's her sense of discretion? I'm very disturbed by this woman's methods. My question to her: Now that Jeff has lost his job, what next? Have you found justice? Are you happy now? Do you really think that Oprah, or anyone else for that matter will pick up your book now?
I pity Jeff. Such a talented man, brought down by a woman close to his mother's age. I won't play the race card here: Jeff is married to an Indian, meaning he's open to all races and wanted to get a little some some from the woman and her daughter. Who knows, may be Jeff even considers black women not exotic enough for his bourgeois tastes? The two, from Ms. B's blog were trading sexual conquests-I remember she mentioned Harry Bellafonte,...Seriously? Didn't either of them have a clue that this was a disaster waiting to happen?
Anyway, I would say that men in high places should learn from this and be more vigilant about their conquests, but, like someone wrote in the Standard regarding Wolfwitz, many more men are yet to give their secrets to Delilah-even though a thousand Samsons have lost their power for the same reason.
And what's with some women thinking that sleeping with a famous person somehow is more attractive? Honey, yeah, maybe the thread count on the bedsheets is the finest on earth, but the novelty wears off when you wake up and find that sex is just sex, and you may have caught something.
I hope Jeff's wife survives this.
On his being fired: I believe that had to do more with him dislosing some of his and CNN's operative procedures to Ms. b and ending up on the net. The sex, well, Clinton endured that too and it didn't cost him the presidency.
