NATIONAL CALL: To Action by the YOUTH of Kenya

The Start of the Nne Nne Revolution

Kenya Youth League, a young class of leaders that seeks to unify the youth of Kenya to capture State power and transform Kenya from a dysfunctional post-colonial state into a vibrant modern democratic republic under civilian rule of law;

1. Sets out with a promise that in due time the weights we carry as a nation should be lifted from the shoulders of all Kenyans regardless of tribe, race or origin and that all should have an equal chance as citizens of this country.

2. Recognizes that all self defining bodies of men are equal one to another, if they but choose to insist on that point.

3. Convinced that whenever any form of government becomes destructive of the proper ends of government, it is the right of the people to alter or abolish it, and to institute new government.

4. Alive to the fact that a name, a phrase, a standard has meaning only when associated with the consideration that gave birth to the nomenclature and that the right of Revolution implies an insistence upon the supremacy of reason in human affairs

Do call upon all ALL Kenyans who want REAL change to gather at

· KICC, next to Mzee Kenyatta’s Statue- Nairobi

· Kenyatta Sports Ground, Kisumu

· The roundabout of Nkrumah road and Moi Avenue, next to the post office in Mombasa

· The junction opposite Municipal offices leading to Golf Hotel, in Kakamega

· The junction of traffic lights next to the post office on Kenyatta Avenue in Nakuru

· The junction next to Kenya Commercial Bank - Embu

· Nyeri- Nairobi Bus stop-Nyeri

· Nandi Gardens-Eldoret

· Taifa Park, Garissa

· Outside the District Commissioners office-Machakos.

· Posta Grounds-Bungoma

· The Junction adjacent to Barclays Bank Kisii-Kisii

· The Nairobi Mombasa Highway Junction going to Mwatate- Voi

· The lorry park next to the bridge-Narok

· The junction at Makutano on your way to Maua – Meru

· Next to The Total Station-Kajiado

· and in all available spaces next to government administrative offices in the various 47 county headquarters

from 10am on 4th April 2011(Nne Nne), To tell this coalition government that we have had enough of it.

Nothing has come of the National Accord:

a) Youth Unemployment is worse than before they came to power.

b) IDPs four years later on are still homeless living in Tents, relying on food rations and being rained on.

c) Only two bills of the 40 needed to operationalize the constitution have been passed.

d) Post Election Violence perpetrators have not been tried whilst both sides of the coalition government engages in all manner ping pong brandishing the tribal card.

e) The cost of living has gone up; fuel prices, food, transportation and no one in government looks bothered.

f) The politicians continue to treat our institutions with contempt full of impunity

Ours is to tell them that we have had it and they must wind up immediately and go! And that we shall not leave the various squares until the coalition is wound up.

Kenya Youth League wishes to set out the following rules for the Protests:

* We shall be disciplined. Discipline is paramount.

* There shall be no use or return of verbal or physical violence towards any person. The objective of the protest is to change government by popular will not by coup or by force. The protests therefore will be peaceful and non-violent, no arms, no defense, no destruction of property.

* We shall effect arrests on anyone who carries arms or engages in the destruction of property.

* We shall not loot since Protests do not lead to thuggery, it dethrones thugs.

* We shall not carry or use alcohol or illegal drugs.

* We shall not place ourselves in obvious danger and we shall try to ensure the safety of all people in and around the action squares.

* We shall be responsible for the cleanliness of the places we occupy.

It is our Prayer that the Almighty God will in due time give us a new breed of National leaders who are committed to ridding us of Poverty, ignorance and disease as hoped by our founding Fathers. God bless Kenya.

ODM War Manifest Nonsense, Fiendish Delight

Don't be vague, let's go to The Hague. Well, not quite as ODM's poor attempt to bake its cake and eat it culminates into another impending political tower of Babel. Torn between projecting a spruced face seeking justice for post-election victims and token appeasement of its residual hitherto members from Rift Valley, the ODM edifice is staring its political and credibility Waterloo in the face.

What is more, William Ruto has compounded ODM's problems by smartly rejecting the poisoned chalice that was doled out to him as legal support for his forthcoming Hague date. Granted, most Kenyan will predictably rush for the cheap ethnic explanation but the truth is far bigger than that. Speak of reverse FIENDISH DELIGHT which amounts to cheap justification of security in numbers albeit disguise. Our political parties stand for nothing apart from being used as vehicles to acquire raw political power, PERIOD.

The hitherto political juggernaut ODM is calmly lying on her deathbed crowded by opposing camps in every decision making. It is simple: YOU CANNOT HAVE YOUR CAKE AND EAT IT. While collective responsibility would demand the Orange party to go by its NEC and parliamentary decision to sponsor lawyers for Ocampo3 to placate Rift Valley voters, it is a difficult balancing act to renege on consistency to project objectivity in search of justice for the PEV.

Make no mistake, the support and opposition for the gang that is Ocampo6 is nothing but our time-tested ETHNIC POLITICS perfected. Despite the high-sounding declarations laced in chest thumbing, no camp is interested in justice or reconciliation. Your guess is as good as mine what the fate of the Ocampo6 be if ICC another of our easily-manipulated courts. All his warts notwithstanding, Luis-Moreno Ocampo has scared the IMPUNITY hell out of tribal lord and things will never be the same again.

Meanwhile, lawyers or no lawyers, ODM is a victim of its own schemes and the tower of Babel will soon leave members cowering for political safe grounds. 2012 here we come.

Don't be Vague, Mint More Huge Confusion

The political gestation period is already here ready for 2012 elections. Soon it will be mutation galore from both sides of the political divide. And don't count on any your tribal chieftains to keep a float in the impending implosion. Given the ongoing internal divisions, squabbles, fights within the two coalition parties with heat in one begetting heat from the rival, even die hard supporters are better advised to invest their loyalty elsewhere. But this is Kenya with all her unique political landscape, anything is possible.

All the wrangles within the parties, whether on ICC or posts, can be correctly traced to lack of political ideology. All there is presently are mere vehicles to acquire raw political power for personal aggrandisement, PERIOD. All parties are more of cults revolving around individual with no solid traditional identity. All the empty slogans are just that devoid any objective and unifying theme.

All the heat will soon upgrade to an inferno electioneering season set in proper Kenyan style. We haven't seen anything yet from both local and exported Kenyans waxing patriotic in support of their tribal warlords, NA BADO.

Poor Kenyans! The belief that the new constitution was crafted to make the presidency less attractive must have been misplaced given the length of queue of aspirants. Well, Kenya has changed but not Kenyans. No matter your take, the fiasco that was 2007 elections changed Kenya forever. The take off was bumpy and the landing/transition is equally scary.

Statesman President Kibaki Talks the Walk

Typical and resolute President Kibaki avoided the small talk while opening parliament and instead reminded the MPs of the bigger task ahead. While all others have been enslaved to small talk, Kibaki never mentioned ICC nor party party politics. By urging the MPs to pass the requisite laws that will anchor the new constitution, Kibaki is leading from in front and by example.

Walking the talk meant the President never lost sight of his main agenda. No petty talk on the heat generated about August/December elections next year. Those who know Kibaki will recall his singular determination and proclamation to banish our national vices in during his inauguration in 2003. The same steadfastness saw him steer Kenya out of near-apocalypse after 2005 referendum when he reorganized and formed an INCLUSIVE cabinet.

A peaceful and fair elections will guarantee all else. By reminding MPs about the urgency of the task ahead of them, Kibaki couldn't have been a better barometer of the Kenyan pulse. He is aware of the importance of passing the laws that will create Independent Electoral Boundaries Commission. The President aptly noted that 2012 elections will be MORE DEMANDING because of the many offices that will be contested.

So there we go, Kibaki has set the ball rolling. We can only hope and pray that the heat and foul-mouthed politics revolving around The Hague will not rear its ugly head to derail implementation of the constitution. Kibaki is the political giraffe whose advise will see us avoid the hitherto predicted chaos because of only two people.

Bright, Clean Face of Future Kenyan Politics

True patriots, three young Kenyans with a singular vision and boiling warrior blood ready to slay our endemic trinity evil: tribalism, corruption and impunity. A breathe of fresh political air.

Ocampo Plans to Arrest Muthaura on April 8

Forget about April 7. Now the D-Day is April 8. Ocampo is no fool to crowd a day designated for his prized catch. While Ruto and Koskei will appear before ICC Judges on the morning of April 7 to confirm the charges against them, Muthaura and Uhuru have been reallocated a new date/day to enable Ocampo sufficient time to execute his plans to detain them on account stopping them from interfering with police, investigations and witnesses in the course of their official duties.

Make no mistake, President Kibaki is no fool as WikiLeaks revealed the other day. HE knows too well who prosecutor Luis-Moreno Ocampo has on his radar. And when push comes to a shove Mzee Muthaura has already made it known about his dismay at being left holding the can of worms. The next natural course of action will see him letting the worms slither. Well, a few more TRADITIONAL mysterious deaths in the near future is not fat-fetched.

All the war drum gimmicks will be served the contempt card they duly deserve. The hydra that is Kenya's impunity has exhausted all orifices to sprout ahead. And Moreno knows it that is why he is waging both media and legal wars to prepare both suspects and their gullible apologists for the dark political/legal future lurking ahead.

Diner with the devil
Now our patriotic leaders are shamelessly peddling the cheap and laughable theory that local political parties have extended their influence from ICC to the UN. Looking at all the motions and charades to defeat justice, one need not be a nuclear physicists to imagine what a local tribunal would be mandated to do. You have to excuse the regime apologists for supporting the hitherto poisoned judicial appointments.

We invited the devil for dinner and he must be ready to sup with our guest now that he is promptly seated. Like him, hate him, Ocampo has the ruling class by the balls. No amount of posturing or bravado will loosen the grip. Hardly 1000 days after collectively raping a country and her voters, the incalculable bill of that national fraud is just beginning to stream in threatening to blow up the calculators.

While we live beautiful national coloured lies always prefaced in denial and acute selective amnesia, the internationals community which saved from ourselves are knocking for their pound of flesh. No amount of threats will have them buy our twin vices of deceit and fraud. We made the bed and must brace ourselves for the eventful sleep.

Governor Ocampo Triggers False War Drums

Imaginative Kenyans. They mint new phrases every time the political temperature soars. Thanks to them now we have new lingo in POWER GRAB CALCULUS alongside MANIFEST NONSENSE that is devoid of PATRIOTIC flavour. Well give it to one governor Ocampo (hate him, like him) the Argentine has rattled Kenya's ruling class like never before. Meanwhile the gullible Kenyan is still pitching for the tribal warlords.

Make no mistake, Ocampo's incessant media briefs is both political and legal. He is simply conditioning the leading suspects for a SUMMON-WARRANT transition in addition to preparing the masses. No amount of threats of violence will deter Lius-Moreno. Having successfully prosecuted Argentinian military junta, the threats and bravado flying from our public rallies only succeed in providing him with more ammunition against the suspects.

Both Ocampo6 and their supporters have exhausted all our traditional trademark excuses lakini wapi? The sovereignty card won't wash neither the naked lies dressed as motion with no trace of movement. We cannot export our NATIONAL culture of deceit. We only fool ourselves by claiming to task police with investigating themselves and reporting to a suspect himself.

It is true proving and convicting a suspect on crimes against humanity is no mean feat and Ocampo knows it. Judge Kaul had to dissent for legal fidelity lest he loses credibility after differing with his colleagues in round one. But reading his report is no consolation to the suspects. The diplomat in him refer to local solutions that do not exist.

Granted we created our own bed of mess and must be ready to lie on the filth. But given the gimmicks from the owners of Kenya, you need not be a neurologist to see through the beauty of coloured lies. Truth is there will be no more ELECTION/TRIBALLY-instigated violence like that witnessed in 2007/8. Every tribal warlord now has his (no lady yet) horn firmly in ICC and/or Ocampo's hands.

The cheap and empty threat of POWER GRAB CALCULUS is MANIFEST NONSENSE, period. Leta ingine.

Ocampo6 Parallels Present Day Kapenguria Six

History is prone to repeat itself with regard to Kenya stewing in her own blood come 2012 elections. Exactly 20 years ago Moi prophetically warned about the perils of multi-party politics. Fast forward to 2012 and the game remains the same except the players are donning jerseys in different colour - the foot is in the other boot. The world would be IRRESPONSIBLE to let Kenya go to the dogs. And we have been warned that indicting Ocampo6 is an open invitation to chaos.

The SHATTERED diplomacy was not an exercise in futility but a chance to remind the world that Kenya has her owners. The truth is that you only risk arresting LEADING PRESIDENTIAL candidates at the peril of the remaining 40 million Kenyans. Kibki is no political fool to risk his legacy by shooting himself in both feet.

Make no mistake, defending the Ocampo6 is a national project, MTA DO? Uhuru and Muthaura cannot be left to their own devices when their only crime was to do what they had to do given the near-Armageddon in 2007/8. As for Ruto, it is REALPOLITIK and expediency both rolled in one, period.

At the risk of distorting our national history, the gand of Ocampo6 may as well be compared to the Kapenguria six in their fight for independence. The later delivered and the former have the potential to deliver us from APOCALYPSE if Kibaki saves them from the noose of vindictive ICC.

Presidential frontrunners
Naysayers will cheaply equate the cost of shuttle diplomacy to dancing on the graves of PEV victims. Far from it, brother Kalonzo has selflessly devoted his energy and time to help Kenyans reclaim their country back. The born-again VP has put at stake his moral compass, dignity, self-respect, honour and pride on the national chopping block. What is more, no price is bigger than patriotism and sovereignty.

While saving the Ocampo6 will definitely guarantee peace for the IDPs in their camps, carting the suspects to The Hague is a sure recipe for another bloodbath. Well, the choice for a lesser evil must be natural. President Kibaki is never known to protect anybody from prosecution but since he is neck deep into saving the Ocampo6 we must accord him the benefit of doubt for he surely knows alot that we don't.

Kenya needs no babysitting given our selfless and competent leaders. Post-election violence was our own making and we are better placed to solve all its problems by ourselves. The Americans and Britons are better advised to keep off and so do the loud-mouthed so-called international community.

No amount of judicial posturing can solve the plethora of our domestic problems. Truth is our problems are political which demand political solutions. We have the political will and leadership to steer MV Kenya out of the present and future doldrums. With Gaddafi and Mubarak as our trusted allies who wants neo-colonialists?

The ICC is poised to shape 2012 polls. It is true that while Uhuru and Ruto may miss 2012 polls, the 1300 victims of PEV will definitely miss 2012 polls. Similarly while the next president is not known, what is known is who the 4th PORK will NOT BE. That is HARD BALL politics 100. Meanwhile the Rift Valley (and Central) remain the focal point and hotbed of Kenya's politics.

Ocampo 6: Kalonzo Wins, Vindictive ICC Loses

The VP Kalonzo Musyoka is the true political winner whether the Ocampo6 are indicted or not. His is an enviable win-win political scenario. Either Kalonzo will inherit all political votes following Uhuru and Ruto's being carted to The Hague or he will bask in glory and reap abundantly as the defender of the duo at time of need.

See latest post by Chris: Evil plan to stay in power for 3 more years

Hon Kalonzo Musyoka's unwavering shuttle diplomacy has been vindicated by the vindictive ICC following sermons for the so-called Ocampo 6. Now that two of the three ICC Judges have joined the global political chorus in making Kenya an example of fighting EXECUTIVE IMPUNITY, all Kenyans must join the VP in the global fight to reclaim our country and pride.

Those who derided Kalonzo for wasting taxpayers' money must now bury their heads in shame. See Steve has proved once again what it means to be steadfast while armed with wisdom of being able to see ahead of time. We must have faith and confidence in our national institutions otherwise the recently promulgated constitution would not be worth the paper it was printed on.

And the message to the world is clear: defer the ICC cases and you spare the WHOLE REGION and our country Armageddon. Only doomsayers would argue with that truism given our immediate political past experience. What is more, Kibaki and Kalonzo should know better given the comprehensive daily intelligence briefings at their disposal.

The President and his principal assistant must not be faulted for operating at a variance with the aspirations of most Kenyans. Truth is they know more that we don't know as ordinary citizens. Forget about the NGOs. They can as well sing IMPUNITY till cows come home but we know their sights remain singularly trained on donor funds while they remain oblivious of the plight of IDPs.

As a country we must learn to be grateful. So far our born-again brother Steve has worked diplomatic MIRACLES on a shoestring budget of just about KES 30m. Make no mistake, that amount cannot even built a MODERN MANSION for a single IDP family leave alone the many thousands littering our national landscape in the Rift Valley.

We must all pull together to save the 6 gallant Kenyans from Ocampo's jaws of prejudice and neocolonialism packaged as seeking justice against impunity. It is no coincidence that half of the Ocampo 6 share a sodiac star - all born in December (CLOSURE?).

The VP deserves the support of every breathing Kenyan in securing our national pride and sovereignty. A closer look will reveal that his singular objectivity has even seen him SHUTTLE together with SALACIOUS Sally Koskei who SLAPPED him while she was his PS as the Minister of Foreign Affairs. Surely, there comes a time when national priorities outweigh personal traumas.

Evil plan to stay in power for 3 more years

In a recent post I talked about diversionary tactics of the executive and the president in particular. This is an update on that post which reveals information that should not really surprise keen followers of the Kenyan political scene.

In the run up to the 2007 ill-fated presidential elections, there was a clique of advisors to the president who could smell disaster and were pushing for Kibaki to delay those general elections. Indeed many in the clergy were voicing the same opinion and were rightfully worried that political temperatures then were way too high for a peaceful general election to happen. But other advisors were alarmed at the very thought of delaying elections fearing that their candidate would be seen as a coward who was already sensing defeat from Raila Odinga and seeking a way out. We all know now which was the more prudent advise that would have saved lives.

But fast-forward to the present and the same clique of advisors have convinced the president that it would be in his best interests to delay the next general elections for as long as possible. “We told you so the last time,” they are saying. In fact the way things are going Mwai Kibaki could easily end up enjoying as much as 3 extra valuable years at the helm. And it is so easy to delay the next general elections. All that has to be done is complicate the implementation of the new constitution.

We have already been treated to public drama which wasted a whole valuable 3 weeks. All the president did in that circus was insisting that his appointments were constitutional (when he knew very well that they were not).

There are many good reasons for the Kibaki camp to delay the elections. One is that the cash being poured into the country by the Americans to push a new cream of youthful leaders into politics (which the president’s handlers see as a threat to the security of the state) will be spent and because elections will not happen in 2012, its’ impact will be greatly watered down.

Another reason is that there will be enough time to completely dismantle what the president’s men see as a still-powerful political juggernaut in the name of ODM. (I beg to differ on that one. In my view ODM is already a spent force and so is its’ presidential candidate. And you don’t need to be a rocket scientist to figure that one out. Just go back in history and check what happened to Narc, Kanu etc. In Kenya political parties are ALWAYS designed to self distract as soon as they have fulfilled their objective which is to get some Kenyan safely into the grounds of State House as the main occupant. Admittedly Raila Odinga didn’t quiet get there but those are semantics in this case). Hilariously the person who is being used to “deal with the Jaruos” (William Ruto) knows this very well but is enjoying the moment looking good and gaining massive political capital flogging a horse that is already on it’s death bed.

But I digress. What should alarm Kenyans even more is the fact that delaying elections is not the kind of idea one needs to sell to parliament. The thing just sells itself. Who can resist the super remuneration and package fit for nothing less than a king?

Bado mapabano folks. Bado sana!!!

Was president Kibaki fit to rule in 2003? Is he fit now?

Wikileaks and desperate Kenyans

If there is something major that I have learnt this year thus far then it is the fact that one is never old enough to lose a parent. I can hardly think of anything that have been as devastating to me in this life as the loss of my Dad. Even if he was from a different generation. The generation of President Mwai Kibaki. Conservative as they come with certain views, rules and principals cast in stone. This had to be the main reason why in his last days he had clearly lost touch with a new world where rules and principals are super-fluid and where change is happening too fast for anybody to fully grasp it, let alone its’ implications.

A friend once quipped that I seem to know Mwai Kibaki so well. If this has come out in my writing then it has a lot to do with the fact that I understood that my dad was from the same time and thus tended to think along very similar lines.

It took me many years but finally I learnt to accept him for what he was. Especially because of the positive side of being unshakeable. The man just couldn’t take a bribe or even look the other way. He just couldn’t. Many times his life was threatened simply because he was unable to do the safe thing of walking away and pretending he had seen nothing. He often told me that his conscience just couldn’t take it. Rare breed indeed and clearly the kind of people we need to shape and create our new Kenya. And if he were still alive today and was in a position of power he would not have been worried about that terror word amongst the high and mighty these days; wikileaks.

Wikileaks is that magic terror word that causes the rich and powerful to wake up in cold sweat at night (that is when they do manage to get some sleep). I spent a little time yesterday reading the Sunday Nation and could not help agreeing wholeheartedly with a number of opinion pieces denouncing Kenyans for the habit of falling over themselves to show mzungus just how much they knew.

I have been privileged to have gone to school with and even found myself in quite a number of situations where I have interacted with Mzungus and I can authoritatively tell you that irrespective of the smiles and kind words, they have a very low opinion of us in general. And I am not being racial. This is made worse when we always seem to want to bend over backwards to please them and show them how clever we are.

Indeed this is one of the reasons why I respect Tanzanians, even with all their poverty and issues. Walk into any office in Kenya today ahead of a mzungu and you will be told to wait while the mzungu who is behind you in the queue is served first. One day in 2004 I walked into a Dar office several paces behind a mzungu and was shocked beyond words when he was asked to wait while the man asked me; nitakusaidia aje kaka? (How can I help you my brother?). Later I heard many Tanzanians point out how most mzungus love to come to Africa to exploit Africans and take away from them while pretending to help. I thought to myself how true this was and how naïve we Kenyans are while being so desperate to look intelligent in front of white folks while actually making an utter fool of ourselves.

That is how diplomats readily get so much information from clueless government officials and even politicians. I can imagine a new arrival being briefed by a fellow diplomat thus;

“Simply wine and dine them old fellow. They are obsessed with unhealthy red meat. Just roast plenty of the disgusting flesh over some charcoal fire and keep their glasses filled mostly with that trashy beer they call Tusker and they will sing better than any bird you know…”

I recently almost threw up as I listened to a popular Radio personality host a mzungu on their show. I have interviewed many people and attended many press conferences in my time and it is so easy for me to tell when the person asking the questions is making an effort to look intelligent. Actually the best interview is where you ask the kind of questions your audience would ask, even the stupid ones. The reason why the Wikileaks revelations are so detailed and accurate is because somebody asked plenty of stupid questions over some nyama choma and Tusker, now guess who looks intelligent?

Don't miss: Wikileaks and the Pavlov Dogs Saga

P.S. Did you catch the Wikileaks where VP Kalonzo Musyoka wanted the mzungus to put pressure on Kibaki to step aside on account of his health (discussed here in Kumekucha many times before 2007) so that he would ascend to the presidency and be in pole position when fresh elections are called? Amazing stuff!!

What is the executive diverting attention away from?

5I have been away burying my dad. Predictably it has been a very sad time for me. Yeah, yeah I know how fashionable it is these days to celebrate somebody’s life at their funeral rather than just feel sad and only focus on what may have been but never was, but hey I am human after all and the guy was my dad.

Enough of that for now but for those still interested I will talk about the man who was the true inspiration behind your beloved Kumekucha and our stormy relationship in the weeks and months to come as I continue to come to terms with the sudden events of January 19th this year and the aftermath.
Time for me may have stood still in the past few weeks but oh my, nothing has stood still on the local political scene. So much has happened and there is so much to discuss and reveal. Indeed I debated with myself for hours to decide what this first post would be about.

Let’s talk about diversion tactics, shall we. Because there has been so much of that in recent times so much so that I am very scared for Kenya. By the end of this post you too will be.

Diversion tactics work best when you want to attack a fortress of sorts. You start a small fire (that looks big) on the side so that everybody’s attention is focused on your dangerous looking fire, including those who are supposed to be guarding the fortress with their lives. And so it becomes very easy for you to go in and steal the crown jewels. With proper execution some people will never get an inkling of what you did.

There was a time that many people used to believe that Mwai Kibaki drunk too much, but would president Kibaki with his array of top notch advisors make unconstitutional appointments without realizing what he had done? And then keep insisting that they were constitutional while clinging to legal straws that are at best laughable?

I don’t think so. The idea there was to divert attention.

Many of you will have heard of the Prime Minister using the same effective technique (according to Wikileaks revelations) to divert attention from substantiated allegations that he had appointed close relatives to key diplomatic posts.

All past Kenyan presidents starting from Kenyatta and Moi have been known to frequently use diversion tactics on the hapless public.

The question on your mind now should be; what is our attention being diverted away from? Serious political analysts will have no problem with the first guess. The ICC stu***.

But methinks that there is also something else almost as serious brewing which I hope to discuss here in the days to come. Meanwhile it is great to be back. I missed Kumekucha much more than I thought I would.

Some people don't think Kibaki is the main target on Ocampo's list

Smart Kibaki Now Upgrades Shuttle Diplomacy

President Kibaki has once again shown his genius side by appointing VP Kalonzo to lead the group of envoys who will push for ICC deferrals. And that what it takes to lead from the front and by example. The truth is some of these issues are too complex to be solved using pedestrian antics packaged as cheap populism. Granted, it is one thing to respect the views of Kenyans but quite another to do the right thing for the long term benefit of those who MOVE (and own) this country. And Kibaki should know better.

As a servant leader, VP Kalonzo's rallying call to give us back our country is no empty slogan. Forget about the diplomatic rumours labelling the handsome and born-again Veep as an opportunist and an intellectual lightweight. Nothing can be so condescending from an arrogant guest with an obtuse appetite to scandalize his hosts. It is the height of diplomatic hypocrisy to turn the truism of real (kati kati) politics as devoid of gist, gravitas and agenda.

Make no mistake, Kibaki has seen it all. HE often draws from his alloyed wisdom to serve all Kenyans equally including the so-called Ocampo 3 (not 6). A look at the list of envoys tasked with ICC deferral reveals the TRUE FACE of Kenya and intellect both dolled in a unit. What is more, Kibaki even respects both the spirit and letter of the new constitution on gender parity by appointing two ladies. Both Dr. Sally Kosgei and Prof. Hellen Sambili are women with superlative brains, the former having hinted at being underutilized prompting her deride our national flag.

What is more, while Minister Njeru Githae is an accomplished legal mind, Chirau Ali Mwakwere is Kenya's ex-chief diplomat. Add Saitoti's experience to the mix and you get a team teeming with all it takes to competently and selfishly serve our national interest.

Kalonzo is a reputed peace maker. That his sojourn as Minister for Foreign Affairs saw peace in Southern Sudan and Somalia cannot be gainsaid. Only him could have Libya's Muammar Gadaffi listen and endorse our cause. Forget about the NON-EXISTENT unrest in the Middle East, we owe the pride of our own LAICO (sorry Grand Regency) it to dear Leader through Libya Investment Authority.

The naysayers must spare HE Kibaki spats and wait to see the fruits of his vision. He is no lame duck President and serving the interests of movers and shakers of Kenya has always been his forte. No need for juvenile consultations. Kalonzo will deliver ICC deferral under stringent budget and squalor among the IDPs will disappear.

And the ultimate reward awaits brother Steve next year when he brings the trophy home parading his fighting spirit. Who said the VP needs KKK? Both Imanyara and Orengo only have single votes. Washindwe!

Kenyans Must Unite Against Diplomatic Rumours And Wild Allegations

Once again our filthy national fabric is being aired for all and sundry to see. US Ambassadors to Kenya must be our politicial classes' ego-therapist massuers. During their tenure in our swamp of corruption their ears act as international megaphones loud mouthing WILD ALLEGATIONS that would shame our local journalists best reports even on their greatest day

Former POTUS Bush and his successor Obama could not have asked for better international conduits of exported juicy RUMOURS than their men posted in Kenya. The smart diplomats do not play in the same league as former anti-corruption czar John Githongo who was forced to resort to secretly taping his unsuspecting informers. On the contrary in the presence of Rannenberger and his successive predecessors the collective overinflated egos of our political scoundrels simply exhale their utter contempt toward each other and their naked emotive tribal stereotypes masked as warped championing of good governance and democracy for Wanjiku.

Wikileaks cables reveal nothing new about Kenya's tribal based politics-the "muchene" (rumours) uttered in the consul massage parlors of Rannenberger&co. is nothing more than a reflection of our own rotten values as a society.Visit any Kenyan homestead after 8pm and witness for yourself wanaNICHI national past time of cheering fellow tribesmate thieves, murderers and drug barons MPigs while interpreting the main 9pm news bulletin through narrow tribal jingoism

Well, nothing exemplifies our fledgling democracy more than a fractitious coalition.Let embattled wikileaks founder Julian Assange not fool himself into thinking he did us a favour by exposing our skeleton closet to the world. We are a sovereign nation and will remain united against the meddling westerners.True they played their part in saving us from a one way ticket to hell but that was then. Now thanks to a new constitution plus ongoing judicial reforms we are once again standing tall in the international community of nations and nothing can ever put us to shame again.NA BADO
