Opposition Parties Blocked From Holding Any Political Rallies In The City

Between now and the election, only PNU will be able to hold political rallies in Nairobi city and all opposition parties have been effectively locked out. This has simply been accomplished by PNU booking all major venues back to back between now and the December 27th 2007 polls.

This includes Uhuru Park, Nyayo Stadium, Kasarani Stadium etc.

There is of course nothing illegal about this since any Kenyan is free to book any facilities they so wish as long as they can meet the financial obligations involved. So is it a case of PNU outsmarting all the other political parties, or have they shot themselves in the foot. Only time and the results of the December 27th general elections will be able to answer that question conclusively.

  2. Though I doubt that, It would be a foolish and futile attempt and a waste of funds by PNU since people can hold rallies in state playgounds, school grounds and church compounds - and its virtually impossible to book all of these. - You only need to agree with the owners and give appropriate notice to the police.

  4. And here i was thinking that KIbaki is popular with 6.1% or 7% growth in the economy, farmers paid on time, KCC up and running!

ODM Domo! Is PANUA afraid that Domo will influence people?

    Hahahaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaaa!

    Kweli PNU is going home.

  7. I don't see anything wrong with booking all venue. It's democracy, first come first served basis. No law has been broken and that's why cry babies in ODM are not running to courts (mami, mami mami!!) like they always do. This is all a game of chess. It's about who outwits the other first. OOOps! ODM and their cheerleaders have been caught wrong footed once again. CHECK MATE, Aiseey!

  9. FACTS RIGHT:
    Pliz get your facts right,as you may have seen in the news yesterday;
PNU has booked Uhuru Park ONLY and it's on 2 dates the last one being the 25th of Dec.
ODM & ODM-Kenya have also booked the same venue on different dates.Check www.ktnkenya.tv.
I guess because of the perception that you can play with people's psychology since you're perceived to have more numbers.
This propaganda shit is not necessary, if you can't talk issues and can't push your strategies please stay home !

  10. this is just another of those silly things associated with PNU, why dont they come and book everywhere in Mombasa or coast for that matter and see if their popularity will rise. huku tutawaita tu malimbukeni wa kisiasa!!afadhali kuwa na domo kuliko kuwa na pesa chungu nzima na akili huna...kwani uwanja wa uhuru park una kura ambazo watazoa ?Pesa Nyingi Uharibu...

  11. Well...i must admit PNU has been working overnight to lock ODM out of this elections:Even though city council denied the bookings, PNU secretariat confirmed them!!! Whether this will help the PNu cause is doubtful. At this moment in time minds are made up with very limited space for adjustment just as is clearly potrayed in this discssions.

  14. Is this now a chat forum? For someone like the anonymous calling John Maina a kihii? Kihii is Kikuyu for an uncircumcised person. Has Kenya actually come to that? The post was about booked venues. I'm no Luo but the missiles being thrown their way are a bit uncomfortable.

As someone once said, if you want to know the good or bad of the uncircumcised man, ask the wife. We other bloggers should just stick to the issues at hand.

  15. Its called poor thinking by the PANUA "think tanks," as someone has said, there is roadshow starting from mbsa rd, go all the way to city centre, with thousands of watts public address system. The next day, take yourself arround the streets, go waiyaki-way! The next day do the estate! the msg is passed!why should someone bother with the kasarani, nyayo or uhuru!

Na wamewacha wapi the popular sabasaba grounds! need i need to add??????? ISHINDWE!!

  17. Nitazidi kusema na sitachoka , watu wa PNU wankosa adabu . huyo jamaa ambaye yuwajiita 'anonymous' yuwapenda kuzungumza tu kuhusu kutahiri mbona asitahiri akili yake mwanzo ama ana akili tahira!kwani yuwafikiria hakuna mkikuyu ambaye yuwaezampinga kibaki ? kwani huyo kibaki ni mkate na divai ambaye hatuwezi ishi bila? tafadhali nyie watu wa PNU fanya heshima zenu , nashindwa tu kama vichwa vyenu vina ubongo ama ni makamasi...
