Who Leaked DP Ruto Nation newspaper?

One thing should be absolutely clear: the relationship between the President and his Deputy is currently a very sensitive issue. If there were no real tensions between them, the media's claims would have been brushed off as inaccuracies. The fact that this issue is so sensitive highlights that there is indeed a significant problem, and the nature of recent incidents suggests the problem is severe.

There are two possible scenarios surrounding the recent incident where a reporter was allegedly threatened. Both scenarios begin with a leak from the Deputy President's camp to the press. Historically, leaks tend to land in major publications like The Nation or The Standard.

Scenario One:

The leak was made by someone within DP Ruto's camp without the knowledge of his inner circle. In such a situation, the individual responsible might have been upset with the ongoing strategy or policies within the camp and decided to act independently. This would understandably upset Ruto's team and potentially disrupt their strategy, especially considering that the stakes are incredibly high. After all, what’s at risk here is the 2022 presidency.

Scenario Two:

The leak might have come directly from Ruto's inner circle as a deliberate move to stir chaos and shift focus. In this case, the leak could have been designed to mislead the opposing camp into thinking the information didn’t originate from Ruto’s team. The subsequent threats to the reporter could serve as a diversionary tactic, making it seem as though the leak upset Ruto’s side, thus confusing opponents.

Both scenarios demonstrate the intense political games being played, particularly in the lead-up to the 2022 elections. It seems these games have started much too early, creating unnecessary divisions within Jubilee at a time when unity is crucial, especially with NASA presenting a strong challenge.

Political Games and Mixed Messages

An interesting development is the contradictory messages coming from key figures within Jubilee. Moses Kuria has publicly stated that the Mount Kenya bloc will support William Ruto’s 2022 presidential bid. Yet, on the other hand, MP Ngunjiri Wambugu has hinted at the possibility that Mount Kenya may not support Ruto. This contradiction is significant because these figures often echo the sentiments of Jubilee’s inner circle.

Such mixed messages indicate that political games are at play. One side might be testing the waters or issuing veiled threats to the other, signaling that support isn’t guaranteed. This tactic involves flexing political muscle to remind the opposing faction to tread carefully and consider potential repercussions.

The Bigger Picture

Regardless of these political maneuvers, it’s clear that a rift exists within Jubilee, and this discord is tied to the 2022 succession race. DP Ruto finds himself cornered, caught between competing factions. Interestingly, both Ruto and former Prime Minister Raila Odinga have a reputation for thriving under pressure. When backed into a corner, these leaders often perform their best, leveraging high-stakes situations to their advantage.

Conclusion

The political drama unfolding is akin to an action-packed movie that wastes no time diving into the action. In the opening scenes, there’s chaos: car chases, explosions, and high-stakes confrontations. Similarly, the current political scene in Kenya has kicked off on a high note, setting the stage for an intense showdown.
