As we approach the holiday season, I want to take a moment to wish all of our regular followers, as well as new visitors, a Merry Christmas and a prosperous 2024. Looking back, 2023 has flown by and will be remembered for many things, but notably for the Finance Bill of 2023, which has drastically affected the fortunes of many Kenyans. This year will be remembered for its hardships, as illustrated by long lines of people waiting for handouts, which some are calling "Christmas gifts" from President William Ruto. However, many see these gifts as nothing more than early campaign strategies, a sign of a government struggling to govern.
While many content creators take a break for the holidays, this channel continues to provide regular content throughout the festive season. We understand that this is a time when many of our viewers have extra time on their hands, and we aim to keep you engaged with relevant analysis and insights.
Key Concerns for 2024: Preparing for a Challenging Year Ahead
As we head into 2024, there are several key concerns we must keep in mind:
1. Energy Challenges: With electricity shortages becoming more frequent, especially due to the predictions of drought following the floods, I strongly advise that you consider alternative sources of energy for your home or business.
2. Security Concerns: As the cost of living continues to rise, crime rates are expected to increase. It’s essential to review your security arrangements, both at home and during your commute. Simple precautions like changing your routes can make a big difference in staying safe.
3. Food Shortages and High Prices: In 2024, Kenya will face significant food shortages, following the high prices of 2023. Moving beyond price hikes, we will see a scarcity of basic food items. I encourage everyone to start thinking about innovative ways to grow your own food, even if you live in a small space. It's a strategy I've been advocating since 2019, and those who took it seriously have already seen the benefits.
4. Political Betrayals: 2024 will be a year of shocking political betrayals. As the current administration struggles, politicians will see an opportunity to advance their own positions. Expect unexpected shifts and betrayals within the political landscape as politicians seek to outmaneuver each other.
Despite the challenges, remember that difficult times often present opportunities. For those who are proactive, this could be a year of growth and change.
Finally, I want to remind you that no matter how tough things may seem right now, be thankful for the gift of life. Tomorrow may be better, even if it takes until 2024 or beyond. As we prepare for the new year, I also encourage you to participate in supporting the channel, as your contributions help us continue our work. May God bless you abundantly.
