What exactly did Deputy President Gachagua mean when he spoke inside a church, telling Kenyans that they should not expect anything from the ongoing national dialogue talks? He said that "nothing will come out of the talks," implying that the discussions were futile. Welcome to my State of the Nation article, where I'll try to clear up the confusion surrounding the political drama currently engulfing Kenya.
It’s disheartening that politicians continue to spread lies from inside churches. Our current politics are filled with falsehoods, as we’ll explore today. What is being portrayed isn’t the whole truth. Behind the scenes, both sides of the political divide seem to be orchestrating something else, with Kenya's future at stake.
Politicians must understand that fearing God brings wisdom, but lying in churches undermines this principle. The reality is that no one can get away with lies, stolen votes, or money. You may gain wealth or power in this life, but when it’s all over, your soul will face judgment. This truth cannot be ignored.
Gachagua’s remarks came during a church service in Ukambani, where he stated that Kenyans should not waste time waiting for outcomes from the talks. He even suggested that Raila Odinga had already been paid off. President Ruto, on the other hand, downplays the talks, indicating that all demands from the opposition have been rejected. So, what exactly is the purpose of these talks? Why are taxpayers funding them when it’s clear that the government isn't interested in them?
Let’s take a step back and analyze this calmly. The government has shown little interest in meaningful dialogue, and there’s enough evidence to back this up. On the other side, Azimio is also not truly engaged in these talks. Raila’s silence about key issues, like the cost of living, is suspicious. Recent reports even reveal that former Nigerian President Obasanjo mediated talks between Raila and Ruto, with Ruto rejecting discussions on the finance bill, claiming it's under judicial review.
What’s really happening behind the scenes? The public may be distracted by the National Dialogue talks, but these could just be a diversion, much like the deception tactics used during the Second World War. On June 6, 1944, the Allies used inflatable tanks to mislead the Germans into thinking they would land at a different spot than they actually did. Similarly, Azimio may be using the talks as a smokescreen while they prepare something much bigger.
Let’s not forget the deadly cards Azimio still holds, like the collection of signatures and the legal requirement for an audit of the 2022 presidential election results. Yet, these issues are being ignored. It’s clear that both sides are playing a game of deception.
Raila, at 78 years old, is nearing the end of his political career. What’s truly on his mind? At this stage, a man is more concerned with his legacy than with making money. So, it’s odd that Azimio hasn't responded more forcefully to Gachagua’s claims. Could this be another inflatable tank in their political strategy?
Meanwhile, the ordinary Kenyan, who is struggling, remains the real victim in this political game. One man’s situation—living without even a mattress despite running a small business—shows just how dire the situation is for many. The pressure on ordinary Kenyans is growing, and when people are cornered, their response can be unpredictable. This situation has been building for years, and the boiling point is fast approaching.
Ultimately, false narratives from both sides are masking the real issues. The government wants to rule through force, while Azimio hides its next move. Read my latest book, Tyranny of False Narratives, to understand these deceptive tactics better. It reveals the truth behind the politics shaping Kenya today.
