Kibaki’s Inner Circle And Re-election Campaign Team: Is It Possible To Rid It Of The Arrogance?

archive

President Mwai Kibaki was visibly in pain from his road accident injuries when he was sworn in as Kenya's third President in December 2002.

It is said that when the people fear the government, you have a dictatorship and when the government fears the people you have a democracy. So what is the verdict with the Kibaki administration?

Whatever it is, one thing is crystal clear. This government has tried very hard to re-create the Jomo Kenyatta era in many ways. In actions, policies and thinking and have completely disregarded the people, let alone feared them. The only thing they have not done is to assassinate politicians that are seen as threats (although Raila Odinga is still on record for saying that the infamous Artur brothers were hired to do just that. To date the Artur brothers saga is still shrouded in mystery).

If there is one word that will be used often to remember the Kibaki administration, then it will be the word; “arrogance.” Incidentally this is the same word used by members of the Democratic Party within the controversial PNU umbrella party who are feeling left out of things. They refuse to see the president’s strategy to...

  1. " Kenyans were last weekend voted the funniest looking people in Africa . With 48 participating nations in the Annual Most Beautiful People of Africa Awards, held at the Gregor Theatre in Bloemfontein SA, Kenya took the last position, dislodging Zambia and reclaiming the title it held in 2000. It posted 7pts out of a possible 540. The top position was taken by Rwanda , followed by Cameroon and then Ethiopia as second runner up. The last three positions were Kenya at 48, Zambia at 47, then Gabon , at 46.

The judges said they gave their points based on presentation, physical appearance, grooming, communication and other areas. They say that Kikuyu women and Luo men pose the most weird features. Read this: "Women from the Kikuyu community have small legs, totally no figures, and a little exaggerated head. They lack good behinds and those who have them look like inflated balloons. They are shaped like pyramids turned upside down. A big upper frame and an almost invisible lower bit. Luo men on the other side have distorted facial features. Say big lips and huge noses or should we call them knobs.

Kikuyu men are also un proportional, and most of them are stunted. They walk leaning forward. Plus they have long rusty teeth." "Those from Kisii Districts are small people, the average Kenyan man will stop growing at 5'2"...5'4" tops. Kisii men have mango shaped heads, and bowed legs, a feature also common in their Luhya counterparts."

He goes on to describe Kalenjins as "Funny little pitch black emaciated fellows, raking in millions from the track. However long they'll remain in Europe , their features never improve"."Nandis will have rounded foreheads and thin, long arms". While occupants at the coast province are said to have "Wide faces, almost like a widescreen telly, especially taitas, and durumas" Luhyas are the most weird creatures on earth. Men have very big noses and big lips while their partners have big funny looking hips and legs like those of animals. "

Kenyans do not know the meaning of good grooming" The writer says. "The women hate their dark skins and opt for mercury bleaches which mess them up. The result: A scary (unpigmented) light face, black legs, and a black back". As much as the Kenyan accent, of standard English is admired, "there's too much mother tongue interference, common in Merus, Kisiis, and Kikuyus".

While Luos were pointed out to be suffering from chronic 'braggartitis'. The research funded by the institute of Primate Research at the University of St. Kenkley , also noted that Kenyan men are very marketable in the Kimberely area of SA and parts of the Gauteng region. Reason, they are big, hopeless spenders.

Moral lesson, "Be careful dating a Kenyan online." Accepting the Award Ambassador Kinya, complained of biased judging. Also present were dignitaries from all around Africa

  4. The problem with PANU is the sitting MPs. Truth be told, most of them are not going to be re-elected. Whether it's by coincidence or design, they are all in Nark-Kenya. Through guerilla tactics they have been able to get nominations to vie using that party's ticket. Since the situation on the ground is different, their opponents had to look for ways of ousting them in the coming general elections. The option therefore being DP.This explains the differences being experienced in PANU.
In Central province,Peter Kenneth & William Kabogo are almost sure of re-election irrespective of party their party affiliation. The rest have a battle ahead of them.In their quest for re-election they are jeopardising the President's campaign juggernaut. It will be a tall order to convince them to run on one party. Reason being, they will loose to new comers who can offer what they have failed in the last four and a half years.
Just listen to likes of Joshua Toro, Robinson Githae, Amos Kimunya and you will see that there's more than meets the eye.

  5. chris we are waiting for the charter house bank report where its aledged that nakumatt supermakets have been engaging in money laundering. as if that is not enough the scale of coruption that has taken place ander the kibaki administartion is in the region of a whooping $1.5bn.The alleged scam, involving money laundering and tax evasion, was exposed by whistle-blowers as early as 2004!!!!!Investigators believe tax evasion and money laundering worth 10% of Kenya's national income are involved.

  7. Mzalendo,

    I followed your directions and cast my vote for Kibaki. The results were 'astoudning!', like 'we are losing!'. The first time was as follows;
    Raila: 79.2%!!
    Kibaki:16.2%??
    Kalonzo: 2.6%:(
Muiru and other: Didn't even go there.

    BUT on closer scrutiny,
    a) Total votes: 77. If you sit at your computer and keep 'changing' your vote , the number of votes increases, and consequently the % votes changes. You know what I mean? If I had some time, our son Kibaki'd win with a landslide because I'd vote for him multiple times from different computers.
    b) Results based on: last 500 votes.I made a scientific (ha ha) inference that majority of the people that voted are Railamaniacs just like you and most Kumekuchans. Maybe even Luo. Therefore, its not representative of the voting population.
    c) Its on the web. Majority of the voters, like the 'hundreds of thousands' who read Kumekucha, are abroad. The majority of the tribe that'll be voting in Dec has no access to computers, let alone the internet.
    EXHALE.

  8. ARTUR BROTHERS REVISITED-MORE WHISTLEBLOWING JUST ABOUT TO EMERGE? -

EARLY AUGUST LAST YEAR,A YOUNG KENYAN BOY,IN HIS LATE 20s OR EARLY 30s,CALLED NJOROGE WAS ARRESTED IN A GUEST-HOUSE IN DAR ES SALAAM TANZANIA,BY IMMIGRATION AUTHORITIES.THE INITIAL CHARGE?THE YOUNG KIKUYU TEENAGER FROM MOMBASA,KENYA DID NOT HAVE A SINGLE TRAVELLING DOCUMENT.NOPASSPORT,NO EMERGENCY TRAVELLING DOCUMENT, ETC.HE WAS HEADED TO SOUTH AFRICA.THE YOUNG BALD SHAVEN AND HEAVILY BEARDED BOY'S ONLY POSSESSION WAS A LAP-TOP.

SUSPICIOUS OF THE LAP-TOP CONTENTS,THE IMMIGRATION OFFICIALS TURNED HIM OVER TO CENTRAL POLICE STATION,DAR ES SALAAM,AN EQUIVALENT OF CENTRAL POLICE STATION,NAIROBI.THE CENTRAL POLICE STATION ,HOWEVER WAS THE POLICE CELLS WHERE HE WAS BEING HELD,BUT INTERROGATIONS TOOK PLACE AT INTERPOL HEADQUARTERS,15 MINUTES WALK AWAY.

ANYWAY,TO CUT A LONG STORY SHORT,IT TURNED OUT THAT NJOROGE WAS FOLLOWING A CARGO DESTINED FOR SOUTH AFRICA(WHERE HE ADMITTED HE HAD FREQUENTED SEVERALLY WITHOUT TRAVELLING DOCUMENTS WITHOUT BEING CAUGHT,THOUGH THIS TIME HE WAS CAUGHT.)THIS PUPOTED CARGO WAS COMING FROM PAKISTAN(IT DOESNT TAKE A GENIUS OR A ROCKET SCIENTIST TO PUT TWO AND TWO TOGETHER TO KNOW WHAT CARGO FROM PAKISTAN TO SOUTH AFRICA MUST BE FOLLOWED WITHOUT A TRAVELLING DOCUMENT AND WITH A LAP-TOP.).IN A NUTSHELL,THE LAP-TOP CONTENTS WERE SCARY.

MR.NJOROGE HAPPENED TO BE A LONG TIME ERRAND BOY CUM HOUSEBOY OF A MOMBASA BASED KAMBA VERY INFLUENTIAL BUSINESS WOMAN.WHEN I SAY INFLUENTIAL ,I MEAN WITHIN THE GOVERNMENT ELITE.

THIS WOMAN,FOR THOSE WHO ARE AWARE,WAS THE MOST TRUSTED CONFIDANTE OF THE INFAMOUS ARTUR BROTHERS.ACTUALLY,APART FROM THEIR RUNDA HOUSE, THE ONLY OTHER PRIVATE HOUSE THE ARTURs ARE KNOWN TO HAVE SLEPT,IF NOT SPENT DAYS,IS THIS PALATIAL HOUSE IN AN EXCLUSIVELY AFFLUENT ESTATE IN MOMBASA..THE PLACE WAS ALWAYS THRONGED WITH THE MOST POWERFUL PEOPLE IN THE CURRENT KENYAN GOVERNMENT ELITE.ACTUALLY,WE ALL KNOW WHO WERE IMPLICATED IN THE ARTUR SAGA BUT THAT NOT WITHSTANDING,THERE ARE NAMES WHO WERE NOT MENTIONED IN THE SAGA BUT WHOM IF NJOROGE NAMED TODAY,AS HE MENTIONED TO A FEW OF PEOPLE SHORTLY BEFORE HE GOT DEPORTED BACK WITHOUT TRIAL,WOULD SHAKE KENYA FROM COAST TO NYANZA AND EASTERN TO WESTERN,ACROSS THE COUNTRY.

NJOROGE HAS AMPLE EVIDENCE;RECORDED AND UNRECORDED.HIS FILE IS AT BOTH CENTRAL POLICE STATION AND AND INTERPOL HEADQUARTERS. THE ONLY PROBLEM.HE SAID HE COULD ONLY PASS THE INFORMATION TO SOMEONE HE TRUSTS,HIS PREFERENCE WAS ONE OF WHAT WE NOW CALL THE PENTAGON.BUT,HE WOULD ONLY SELL THE INFORMATION AT A FEE OF KSHS 5MILLION.BUT EVEN FOLKS WITH MONEY WERE SCARED TO BUY IT.AS IT WAS CONSIDERED DANGEROUS INFORMATION BY MANY.IF YOU HAVE FAMILY OF COURSE,LIKE ME.WELL,AT LEAST AT THAT TIME IT WAS CONSIDERED DANGEROUS BEARING IN MIND THERE WERE ALLEGATIONS THAT SOME OF THE STANDARD RAID COMMANDOS WERE TANZANIANS,WHO WERE EVENTUALLY DEPORTED BACK TO TANZANIA,AND THESE ARMENIANS HAD TAKEN OUR COUNTRY HOSTAGE FROM AIRPORT SAGA TO STANDARD SAGA.

NO WONDER THE GOVERNMENT QUICKLY SUMMED UP THAT INVESTIGATIONS INTO THE ARTUR BROTHERS SAGA WAS OF NATIONAL SECURITY AND COULDNT BE RELEASED IN PUBLIC.WHO ORDERED THAT?

  10. What you see as arrogance is really a money problem…..to much of it. It’s clear that the Kibaki campaign is endowed with bottomless bags of money….which is hard to shy away from, if you are a Kibaki-side candidate. Remember, Kenyan history has shown that 90% of the best funded campaigns are usually successful. It is this warped assurance and insatiable thirst for campaign funds that these chaps are fighting for. They have totally forgotten 2002 and the Referendum.

I see that Raila has taken my advice and turned this thing into a euphoric dash to state-house. The momentum must not be lost. Just see what happened in Western. After Raila’s trailblazing match, the effect of Kibaki’s prior tour has now been confirmed as zero. My dear friends, we are back to the politics of historic Rome….. the type that feeds and wins the hearts and minds.
It is my prayer that nobody advises Kibaki to drop Moi (the old man who nobody listens to anymore). Yote yawezakana bila Moi (and by extension Kibaki) was very relevant in 2002 and is still very relevant today. Raila’s duty, at this point, is to make sure that this tune rings in every voters’ head as they cast their vote.

PS. We all accept that Kalonzo is trying his very level best to remain relevant …at every opportunity. He will definitely get 100% of the vote in the Kamba parts of Eastern province. Why spend four days there?????
