Former CNN Africa Bureau chief Jeff Koinange has broken his long silence and given an exclusive interview to a UK website where he denies the date rape allegations leveled against him. He also denies bribing anybody to get his infamous Niger Delta dramatic story.
However in what appears to be a contradiction, Jeff is quoted by the web site as saying; "I've let my wife down... I've let the people who care about what I do down." It is not clear exactly what the former CNN reporter, known to always choose his words carefully meant by this, but it seems to be an admission of the date rape that he denies in the same statement.
An interesting possible coincidence is the fact that the site is owned by a company whose non-executive chairman goes by the name of Mike Turner. The major shareholder of Jeff’s previous employer has a similar name in Ted Turner.

If you sleep with dogs, you wake up with fleas, so goes a Nigerian saying. Jeff Koinange should sort himself out. I have just read elsewhere that Marianne-Briner made another threat at Moi through Mutula Kilonzo. I hope it is not true, but as for Jeff, let him face the consuquences.

Jeff must really think we are fools. Denying that he slept with that woman. Come on. We all know he did. So why the story that they only met in the restaurant. Has he not learnt that the truth always comes out. Oh, what a tangled web we weave, when we try to decieve.

And Mike Turner and Ted Turner have no connection. Trust me, CNN will not touch Jeff with a 10-foot pole.
I dont know if anyone noticed that, that article didn't really say much, it didn't acknowledge nor deny. The fact that he is sorry doesn't really say much about guilt. Has anyone ever met Marianee in person, she is 60!!! I dont know maybe its just me, Jeff can get any chile he wants today without lifting a foot.
ReplyDeleteI find it rather suspecious that the drama came out after the fact that she didnt get her story published or featured, I also find it sad that a lady of her caliber would go to great lengths publicly through blogs, writing letters to CNN to prove that she was raped and to prove a short stint of a relationship.
I think she accomplished what she wanted, which was to take down a dude who didnt cooperate with her dozier..
If I was Jeff I would also regret knowing that lady or putting myself in that situation in the first place... i read the emails back and forth and kept asking myself whether she was expecting Jeff to play soccer with her ama?? (if they are true that is)

ReplyDeleteWhat i dont understand is why would a seemingly decent guy like jeff sleep with a woman old enough to be his grand mother let alone rape her,i will give jeff the benefit of doubt until this crazy grandma can give some concrete evidence.
