In response to Raila Odinga's intensified street protests against the government, President William Ruto's backers in the ruling United Democratic Alliance (UDA) have demanded for his immediate arrest.
The leaders claimed in a statement read by UDA secretary general Cleophas Malala that it is time for Raila to acknowledge that Ruto is the president and that any attempts to remove him from office are unrealistic.
Several leaders, including Tana River Senator Dandson Mungatana and Saku MP Ali Rasso, were present when Malala spoke on Saturday at a UDA popularization and recruitment exercise in Tana River county.
In order to strip Ruto of the people's sovereign authority, Raila announced a drive to collect 10 million signatures during the Saba Saba demonstration on Friday, July 7.
On Wednesday, Raila launched a second wave of protests and signed the petition, saying he was confident 10 million followers would have done the same by the end of the month.
The opposition legend added that Azimio would "conduct a referendum to delegitimize this regime" and set up a parallel national election body.
However, Malala asserted that what Raila is doing is illegal because only the President is authorized by the Constitution to appoint the nation's election body.
He declared that they would not put up with an opposition hellbent on destructing the administration in order to purportedly overthrow a legitimately elected government.
"We would like to tell Raila, the chaos you are bringing here, the total disregard for the rule of law that you are doing, we continue to tolerate you but we have almost had enough," he said.
"If you continue to destroy people's property, if you continue to scare away tourists, if you continue using our youth...Raila Odinga you are not above the law, we will arrest you and take you to court like other ordinary citizens," Malala told villagers in the Tana River region.

The strange death of a Nairobi-based priest, who died just hours after booking a room with his partner, is currently being looked into by detectives.
Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku, a 43-year-old priest from St. Peters Ruai, has been named as the deceased. He and a woman arrived to the Monalisa Hotel Delview in Gatanga on Friday, July 8, 2023.
According to police records, the priest suddenly became lightheaded, which is what prompted the woman to ask for help from the hotel administration.
They chose to drive him urgently to Murang'a's Kenol Hospital. Kariuki was pronounced dead when he arrived at the hospital. Police have started looking into the circumstances surrounding his death.
The woman reportedly told the hotel administration on Saturday morning that the cleric was feeling lightheaded and was about to pass out, according to a police complaint.
They made the decision to take him to Kenol Hospital for immediate medical care at that point. Sadly, all attempts to save him failed.
According to the police complaint, one Joseph Kariuki Wanjiku, 43, a Catholic priest at the Archdiocese of Nairobi and a farmer from the Mangu area, checked into the aforementioned hotel with his girlfriend, who also happens to be her coworker at the Ruai office.
"Then, this morning (Saturday) at about 8:00 a.m., the priest's girlfriend informed the hotel administration that the boyfriend was feeling dizzy and was about to pass out, prompting them to take him right away to the hospital. When they got him to Kenol Hospital, they immediately declared him dead.

As Saba Saba day 2023 begins, we focus on an eerie warning sign the day before. Barrack Muluka a very close aide of William Ruto since 2020 came out and warned those in leadership and those seeking leadership that there is deadly "Hasira" (anger) in Kenya today which needs to be urgently addressed. If it continues to be ignored, Muluka says, then the coming revolution is unstoppable.
This Kumekucha video gives a brutally honest analysis of where we are as a country today as saba saba explodes countrywide.

The writing is on the wall and what is coming is very clear. It is much deeper than just Raila and Ruto, or Azimio and UDA. This video digs deeper to give you a clearer view of what to expect and more importantly what you may be forced into to survive. It also details precisely why and how UDA will crumble.

Londiani tragedy mystery and the spiritual
One must now reflect on a few issues in light of the unfortunate Londiani tragedy freak accident. Can you even begin to imagine a single truck and trailer wreaking such havoc and causing as much damage to a road as this one did? These trucks are involved in accidents all the time, but the casualties are never as great as they were in this case. The truth is that when there is such a high death toll in a single incident, it is most likely spiritual in nature, and you cannot escape the spiritual.
But here comes the real shocker. Although these dark activities are mostly done in order to get someone into office, such as a governor or MP, they can also occasionally be done in order to maintain that official in office, such as a governor or politician. This evil can be done to keep somebody in office.
Because maybe their position in power has been threatened. Or maybe their leadership is shaky. Indeed maybe there is a threat of removing them from power.
The Esther Arunga saga is a story that has been told on Kumekucha right from when it all started. Here are some rare insights and little known facts that shed light on the latest Esther Arunga and Quincy Timberlake developments.

The saying "the dead don't tell tales" has come to haunt police and a Kakamega town when the body of a lady who had been missing for more than a week was found after its location was revealed in a dream.
The strange episode has reignited the long-running argument over whether the dead may speak to the living and the applicability of "their messages" to those they may have talked to.
Police are unsure of whether to treat the person to whom the revelation was made as a whistle-blower or a suspect as the villagers speculate that the dream may be a testament to the deceased's desire for a proper funeral and her determination to see her killers brought to justice.
The family of Clement Musonye was in mourning after learning that their devoted employee had been killed and her body had been buried in a field of maize near their home in Mukulusu, Shinyalu constituency.
Her disappearance kept the family in suspense and worry for days as they searched every inch of their farm and farmhouse as well as the entire village in vain.
But after Constance Musonye insisted that the deceased, Elizabeth Minayo, had told her in a dream that she had been buried on their farm, the riddle was finally solved.
Additionally, it is claimed that she told Constance in a dream that her killers came from the homestead.
"We notified the local assistant chief and police as soon as we learned that Mama Minayo had vanished on Wednesday, June 28.
Constance, a worker at the Kakamega Golf Hotel, described how a search party was organized and led to every nook of Shinyalu and its surroundings without yielding any results.
She stated that the deceased appeared to her in a dream on Saturday night and informed her that she was died and buried at their house in a field of maize.
Constance claims that she initially disregarded the dream because she doesn't subscribe to superstitions.
"However, she made a second appearance on Sunday night and demanded that we check the maize farm. I was compelled to tell my family and the local government as my conviction grew. We happened onto the small burial in our house at that point, she recalled.
Assistant Chief Julius Mukhala of Mukulusu said they were similarly astounded since despite searching the area of the complex, they had never found anything unusual on the farm.
"The family helped us form a huge search party which failed to find the late until Monday following information from Cony (Constance) that she had encountered her in a dream," he stated.
Constance's dream was backed by the assistant chief and village elders, who insisted that similar revelations were common in the past when the deceased communicated their wishes to their surviving kin through dreams.
We've all heard it said that the dead might be watching the living, after all. Or that our deceased ancestors can provide advice and knowledge to better our lives? Mukhaye joked.
Mukhala noted that many people held back the details of their dreams out of concern that they could be held accountable.
A form three student at a secondary school in the constituency and the grandson of Mzee Musonye were among the three suspects detained, according to Shinyalu police chief Bernard Ndege.
When the invesyigations are complete, he added, "We have three suspects in our custody who we intend to arraign in court any time this week."
Ndege claimed that because the three suspects had threatened the dead on numerous occasions, their investigations had focused on them.
They are well-known truants in the neighborhood, and their main vices include drug, alcohol, and gambling abuse.
They have consistently intimidated the woman, claiming that she prevents them from obtaining items at the house that they want to sell, he said.
Constance had been cleared by their investigations, he noted, though they might still need to get her to give a statement.
"I haven't come across any instances when the whereabouts of missing dead persons have been revealed, but I have heard about them.
Constance believed that the deceased's spirit was haunting her, even though we had given up on the hunt, the police chief said.
Nicholas Musonye, secretary-general of CECAFA, said that the terrible loss of the woman who had faithfully served his family for more than seven years had shattered his family.
"Mama Minayo was our devoted and trusted servant, therefore I'm still processing this awful event. Since most of us live elsewhere, she is the one who looks after the entire family house, he told the press.
"Over the years, cases of the deceased appearing to their loved ones or friends have occurred. For example, I've seen instances where individuals indicated their deceased friend or relative was somewhere, and when we went there, we discovered the bodies, according to Thomas Aseka, a retired chief from the region.
Following disruptions, some families are even compelled to exhume and rebury their relatives. A family was compelled to hold a bull-fighting competition a few weeks ago in order to placate the restless spirit of their father, which was torturing them and driving some of them insane. After the incident, they were immediately healed, he continued.
Now I've shown in numerous articles here and videos on my Kumekucha Chris YouTube channel that just before general elections and just before the Christmas holidays, road accidents dramatically increase on our roads. Some of us naive Kenyans believe that this is because, for example, in the run-up to the Christmas holidays, more and more drivers get drunk. And people tend to point to a lot of other factors which although they cause accidents, don't add up to the numbers that we end up with in some of our gory mishaps on Kenyan roads.
And yet, we are aware that in the spiritual realm, politicians and those calling themselves businessmen but really just looking to make quick cash are engaged in some incredibly evil, even demonic, acts. Shakahola is the most recent illustration of this. Now that you know what was going on in Shakahola and which Kenyans have been listed as being involved (those active in politics and major business people) it should all be rather clear.
My sincere condolences to all Kenyans who lost loved ones, but also to those who were injured, some of them severely enough to change their lives forever. May Almighty GOD comfort them all and grant them his peace which passes all understanding.
It is surprisingly easy to predict what is going to happen in Kenya next. A blinded government speeding forward with no brakes, let alone any intention to slow down and the long suffering masses of Kenya pushed to a corner.
This Kumekucha video takes a deeper dive into the triggers that are all in place where there should have been efforts at economic recovery. Believe it or not, we have been here before only that very different decisions were taken.
On the same day that President William Ruto's backers authorized the employment of new IEBC commissioners, Azimio boss Raila Odinga declared a fresh wave of protests, and a showdown now looms large and scary.
"We are come to let you know that, as we previously stated, the Kamukunji meeting will take place on Friday in Nairobi. However, this Third Liberation will be started at Kamukunjis all over the country, not just in Nairobi, according to Raila.
"Let's forward starting on Friday with a brave desire to stick together. We're going to collaborate. Let's continue to battle to the very end.
After Azimio chiefs announced nationwide peaceful marches last night, opposition supporters (joined by increasingly hurting Kenyans over new fuel prices) are now preparing themselves for a Friday of protests and running fights with the police.
On the same day that President William Ruto's backers authorized the employment of new IEBC commissioners, Azimio boss Raila Odinga declared a fresh wave of protests, and a showdown now looms large and scary.
The opposition urged followers to demonstrate and picket beginning on Friday, which is expected to pave the way for ongoing conflicts with the police, who are eager to put an end to the protest marches.
The prominent members of Azimio have planned a significant rally at Nairobi's revered Kamukunji grounds.
"We are come to let you know that, as we previously stated, the Kamukunji meeting will take place on Friday in Nairobi. However, this Third Liberation will be started at Kamukunjis all over the country, not just in Nairobi, according to Raila.
"Let's go forward starting on Friday with a brave desire to stick together. We're going to collaborate. Let's continue to battle to the very end.
The former prime minister was eager to point out, however, that their agitation would be legal and peaceful under the constitution.
"We are not in any way encouraging violence by engaging in picketing, protests, tax boycotts, or other forms of civil disobedience. In the past, we have never supported violence. We will never support it, he continued.
"Unless the law itself is wrong, we can't be wrong by using civil disobedience and protests."
The police have violently responded to demands from the opposition for protest parades, blocking roads and making extensive use of tear gas and water cannons to disperse crowds and opposition organizers.
The opposition had already asked that the ruling coalition stop stealing its members, and this demand was on the agenda for the now-cancelled negotiations.
Adan Keynan (Eldas), Elisha Odhiambo (Gem), Sabina Chege (nominated), Fatuma Gedi (Isiolo Senator), Caroli Omondi (Suba South), Paul Abuor (Rongo), Gideon Ochanda (Bondo), and Tom Ojienda (Kisumu Senator) were a few Azimio MPs who had sworn loyalty to Kenya Kwanza. In addition, the Raila camp demanded that the Finance Bill be withdrawn as a prerequisite for the now-defunct negotiations.
As a compromise for bipartisan talks that would have helped to end the impasse over the IEBC succession, the opposition called off demonstrations in March.
However, the negotiations broke down, and Azimio formally withdrew, claiming that Ruto's Kenya Kwanza had broken the requirements for the negotiations to continue.
In the bipartisan talks on Tuesday, the Kenya Kwanza team accused Azimio of preventing progress by needless political posturing.
The lack of communication and Azimio's absence from the meeting, according to bipartisan committee co-chair George Murugara, "shows lack of faith from them on the talks."
But when Azimio addressed the media hours later, they denied the allegations and charged Kenya Kwanza with obstructing the negotiations.
The opposition asserted that even as negotiations were ongoing, the Selection Panel still moving forward with hiring.
After the court decision proclaiming William Samuel
Ruto's cabinet and administrative secretaries to be in violation of our
constitution, many people and a great deal of analysis have tried to explain
the implications of this shocking decision to Kenyans. This is due to the
widespread belief among Kenyans that the judiciary and the government are
currently experiencing a honeymoon unheard of in Kenyan history, and their
expectation that the court will continue to predictably side with the
executive. In violation of what our constitution requires, they are sharing a
bed.
You've probably heard the term "separation of powers." Each branch of
government—executive, judicial, and legislative—should be independent, with no
cozy relationships between them. The whole basis of our democracy is this.
Therefore, long-suffering Kenyans are wondering if this could be a political game of sorts. Are we
witnessing some sort of staged drama, after which something will occur and
everything will return to normal as expected?
So let's start this analysis right away. I believe that in order to comprehend the present CAS situation, we must first recall a very intriguing drama that took place in our nation in the middle of 2007.
It happened toward the end of Mwai Kibaki's first term in office.
The late Kalembe Ndile, an assistant minister of tourism and wildlife at the time, made a comment that rocked Kenyans to their very core. In a nutshell, he told Kenyans that assistant ministers in the country were receiving huge salaries despite doing very little. Indeed they were mostly idle.
In reality, Hon. Ndile was pleading with the government to give him work in the statement because he had no work as an assistant minister and had to utilize his assistant minister office to carry out his parliamentary duties. His constituents for instance, visited him there, and he felt very guilty about it.
While some people have a conscience, others don't. Kalembe Ndile, however, was one of those who was unable to handle it and spoke as a result.
Since 1963 until 2007, I had been wondering why no assistant minister had admitted to being idle. Even opposition MPs, when multiparty was introduced, became assistant ministers and kept quiet.
This unmistakably speaks to the conscience of Kenya's lawmakers on both sides of the political divide.
Today's Cabinet administrative secretaries are the assistant ministers of old, and I'm about to reveal something that will shock most.
Realistically, those who deputize cabinet ministers cannot have any work to do because of how the Kenyan government operates. In many cases, even a full cabinet minister must struggle to stay in the loop of what is occurring below them at the permanent secretary level.
Does an assistant minister or someone filling in for a minister have any hope of being informed, let alone having work to do, if a cabinet minister struggles to stay on top of some of the goings-on?
Now, we've heard a lot of stories in the past about permanent secretaries having more authority than full-cabinet ministers in certain dockets. The late Hezekiah Oyugi, a PS in the interior ministry under the Moi Administration, is the best example of this.
Kenyans have long been captivated at the whispers that entire cabinet ministers would kneel down before Oyugi, begging for favors.
You know, a lot relies on the delicateness of the matter and how much the president in authority trusts the cabinet minister.
In comparison to his full cabinet minister, Moi had far greater faith in Oyugi, a non-politician. Another extremely significant hint is right there. At the time, all of the cabinet ministers were politicians, and the president was fully aware of the "DNA" of politicians and how quickly they could betray their trust. As opposed to a bureaucrat like a dependable permanent secretary who is not involved in politics and is not seeking any political favors.
So, while the cabinet minister was unaware of what was happening, Moi would send instructions directly to his PS.
We can use the egregious assassination of George Saitoti as an illustration here.
It goes without saying that there are some documents that would have needed to be signed and information that would have passed within his docket that had something to do with this planned helicopter crash (if indeed it is true that George Satoti was bumped off by the government.)
Nevertheless, although serving as a cabinet minister, he remained unaware of the threats to his life. Who then carried out the signing, authorizing, and coordination?
The PS, of course, who was his junior.
Naturally, the assistant Minister would not have been involved in this.
And that is the reality of the way government actually functions.
Now, those who created our 2010 Constitution already knew a great deal of this knowledge, so they recognized—to put it politely—that the position of assistant minister or deputy to the cabinet minister was not required.
So they did away with that position, which begs the question: what did this position serve before?
The answer; to reward politicians that helped the president gain power.
Directly speaking, it is corruption. You place people in positions so thay they collect enormous government salaries for doing nothing.
In order to assure that anyone nominated to any position would have plenty of work to do, the building bridges initiative (BBI) made a very energetic effort to address this issue. Because those who created the BBA were aware of the realities of politics: as president, you must reward your allies, but not at the price of the taxpayer, BBI architects decided. The BBI had this noble aim, but the Kenyans trashed it instead. The same individuals who vandalized it are now facing consequences.
William Samoei Ruto is in difficulties because he is currently in a situation where the BBI's passage would have tremendously benefited him. Ruto's efforts and significant financial support of the BBI-killing campaign prevented it from happening, and as a result, he is currently suffering severely.
To be clear, the position of cabinet administrative secretary is very unconstitutional per the spirit of our constitution. Given that it was actually eliminated by the 2010 constitution, it shouldn't be there. It is a position that benefits chubby, wealthy, and greedy politicians at the expense of the general public. In actuality, it rewards the politician while punishing the taxpayer.
