You Missed This: Over 55 dead as truck rams into vehicles, hawkers at Londiani Junction

The rescue operation is still going on at the horrific and tragic accident that occurred at Londiani junction on Friday evening. Several bodies are still trapped inside vehicles with some under the truck.

The 6.30pm accident occurred after a truck lost control, running over pedestrians, business people and matatus which were parked by the roadside.

The truck was heading to Kericho before it lost control and veered off the road, ramming into tens of hawkers who were busy along the Nakuru-Kericho highway. And when it came to a rest, scores were trapped under its' weight.

In a handful of posts on this blog I have always insisted that there is much more to this road carnage in Kenya than meets the eye. It is all spiritual.

For instance, is it a coincidence that whenever we approach the general elections, the number of road accidents (most of them freak accidents) increases dramatically and with it also deaths of numerous Kenyans?

Most educated and sophisticated Kenyans will tell you that this is a mere coincidence. However those who have visited witch doctors will tell you that these guys who are terribly busy countrywide, to get people into power and indeed to keep them there (after elections) require "human blood" to cement their more powerful spells.

They will also tell you that to obtain this human flesh, a person will sometimes be asked to sacrifice a close relative or family member. This is usually not a problem because many aspirants want to win at all costs and are prepared to pay any price to see the inside of parliament. Alternatively "traps" will usually be set on roads so that freak accidents can happen that will spill as much human blood as possible.

Everybody is free to believe what they want to believe but take note of the sudden rise in road accident frequency and the extraordinarily high deaths resulting in over the last few weeks or so. And at a time when politically there appears to be a power struggle in the country between government and the opposition.
