According to Martha Karua, the biggest hindrance to implementing the recommendations of the Kroll report are foreign governments who are not willing to co-operate in recovering looted funds from foreign accounts.
Finance Minister Amos Kimunya says that the government has spent close to a billion on several initiatives aimed at curbing corruption and recovering looted funds of which commissioning the Kroll Associates investigations was just one.
Both cabinet ministers totally and quite deliberately missed the point.
The Kroll report on its' own is more than enough to act as the basis of prosecution against the Mois and their associates. And if Moi is "too heavy a stone to turn" then at least they should start with Joshua Kulei and Biwott. Just half the sources of information on the report are enough to assist in gathering enough evidence to get a successful prosecution.
Instead the government of national unity is hoping to convince the people of Kenya that although no big fish has been prosecuted, they have done enough and the problem is that their hands are tied because of the current constitution.
Ha, ha, ha, ha. Even a crocodile in the River Tana which swallows at the least excuse WILL NOT swallow that one.

How To Make Serious Money Using Blogs Or Generate Plenty Of Traffic For Your Site. It Is So Easy, Expert Explains
Luke, I just read some of the references to my tag posted during my hiatus. They are of course misguided insinuations. The way I see it, Chris is actually one of my best friends. No vendetta here. Although I’m unashamedly a bona fide connoisseur of certain things finest to men, my forte does not include the vulgarity displayed here by those NSIS agents determined to ridicule and display Kumekucha in bad light ………. by using unpalatable four letter words and cursing out chaps from high heaven to the deep throws of hell (not my writing style, tone or otherwise).
ReplyDeletePKW, lumping a respectable, decent, magnificent, almost omni-present, pure-as-white-snow chap of impeccable virtuous character like Kalamari in the same tattered rotting potato sack as Kioko from British Columbia is like attempting to raise wild cats alongside sewer rats in the same rusty cage.
Now, if a billion Kenyan shillings has been spent in the fight against corruption, it was to pay chaps like Ringera and KACC associates (do the math…really do the math and you’ll find that Kimunya is indeed being truthful). As for Martha Karua, if foreign banks and governments are hesitant in subjecting suspect bank accounts to KACC perusal, it is because of the weak evidence presented by Kenya. I mean, how do you go to Switzerland with a one page letter scribbled, “Moi has stolen, let us see his bank account”? Chaps, these weak and shoddy KACC investigations leave numerous gapping holes deliberately. Part of the plot is to present such a rough sketch of events that even the junior bank teller at Machakos KCB bank branch will laugh hysterically and turn away a chap like Sherlock “Ringera” Holmes.
That said, as I was about to go on vacation, my best friend Chris wrote about the impending unveiling of an independent Presidential candidate (about the third time he’s said so) who is set to become the crusading trailblazer of this our mother of all battles elections. In my resurrection, I must ask, what happened to that cookie?
Give it to the iron lady. Hate her love her Martha always tries to back her defense of the regime with very sound reason albeit subjective and polarized. You cannot take anything from her apart fro the obvious which only qualifies her to be huamn afterall, who amongst us is not?

ReplyDeleteI am Swiss - as you are all very well be aware of .... but I have to defend my country and its legal system:
ReplyDeleteIn order to 'clean' its banking system which seemed to protect certain 'crooks', the Swiss Legislation has forced the Swiss Banks to form a Board supervising and controlling all Swiss Banks ........
The Chairmain of this Board is taking personal responsibility that the rules are fulfilled........
And this also applies to the rules and details under which a Foreigner is allowed and conduct an account in a Swiss Bank Account ...........
Why I say this ??????????
Under these rules, it needs just an official by any goverment - i.e. the Kenyan Government - to get all the help they need ...............
So don't be cheated by some stupid remarks 'but the foreigners - i.e. the Swiss Banks - protect the 'crooks' and therefore we cannot do anything .............'
It needs nothing else then the request by the Kenyan Government - like it has been done by the Nigerian and Phillipine Governments just to give you an example --------- to authorize the Swiss Banks to 'open' their 'secrests' ----------------
But I repeat: it needs an official request by the Kenyan Government ............. and that's why and where it has failed ............
So don't acccuse 'us' ---------- accuse your system -------------.
Do you now understand why I am so frustrated and why I am trying to fight outside these 'established' rules ?????????
And be sure - I will never give up--------------

Bwana Kalamari, it seems the invocation of your name had more to do with your "sudden silence" as opposed to any real or perceived dispositions you may hold. now that you have spoken you have improved the silence so no more confusion
ReplyDeleteJust wanted to sound off on my pet subject of integrity in politics; i belive what MB has said makes sense; If Martha Karua and Amos Kimunya had shown integrity, they would have done what they say they are going to do by now. however, all they(and others) have/have had are excuses, and the back-ground noise they make is 99% of what the war on corruption has been all about the past 4 1/2 years
what does it mean to truly campaign on an anti-corruption platform? and then to deliver on the same promise?
(i don't know but if anyone can answer that question, they deserve to become the 4th president of Kenya)
Luka you must have the unique capability to dream in COLOURS. You are siting there pretty concocting passive thought answering to dreams that will never come true. Here you are brother speaking of the 4th president that has been declared a foregone conclusion. I fear even your faith for 2012 will come na kama upepo wa kusi itapita tu. You must be dreaming of a saint in hell, ama?
ReplyDeleteSo who is talking the truth? How comes nobody talks of the molasses scandal and its negative impact on the economy? What about the issue of AIDs that has destroyed the whole of the Kavirondo gulf natives simply due to the fear of the knife. How many toilets could have been dug in the kavirondo gulf with the stolen molasses cash? What about the tribal politics of Raila and his group of idiots? kioko. BC. canada.

ReplyDeleteKibaki appoints new envoys
Story by PPS
Publication Date: 9/13/2007
President Mwai Kibaki has today appointed twelve new Ambassadors and High Commissioners. Three officers in the Ministry of Foreign Affairs have also been promoted to the rank of Ambassador.
The appointees include Major Gen (rtd) James Mutua Mulinge, who becomes Kenya's Ambassador to Somalia and Prof Ruthie Chepkoech Rono as Kenya's Ambassador to the Netherlands. Others include Mr Daniel Sindiga as High Commissioner to Botswana, Mr Thomas Amolo as High Commissioner designate to South Africa, Prof Festus Kaberia as High Commissioner to India and Amb.Mohammed Mahat who goes to Kuwait.
Others are Ms Catherine Muigai Mwangi as Ambassador who has been appointed to the Republic of Ireland, Mr Mwakai Kikonde Sio as Ambassador designate to Spain, Mr Robert Mutua Ngesu as Ambassador designate to the Sudan, Mr Benjamin A.M. Mweri as Ambassador designate to the Republic of Burundi, Dr Tom Mboya Okeyo as Ambassador designate and Deputy Permanent Representative, United Nations, Geneva and Dr Joseph Kipkemoi Kiplagat as Consul General Designate – Juba.
Promoted to the ranks of Ambassador were Mr Albert Abwavo Musasia, Mr Benson Ouma Ogutu and Dr Kipyego Cheluget
We may not speak the same language wth Kioko but I believe the dude has very concrete and valid concerns--How come the molases scam is never discussed here with the same vigour?
ReplyDeleteDo you really want to know about the Molasses Saga and all its details - or is this just using it as a 'slogan' ??????? If you are interested, let me know ..... but the whole story from A to Z and not just the last and current part..... I will send it to Chris and he can then decide what to do with it .........
ReplyDeleteOne information upfront: the Molasses Saga is a very good example how and why politics and politicians can ruin a country ...... and kill people.... and that's why I am also afraid if Raila Odinga could become the next President ....... but does Kenya have a choice? Between Kibaki (now even supported by Moi and Biwott - not to mention Uhuru - so you have the whole 'bunch' again together) and Raila ----??????? Who else ??????? They are all Moi's 'creatures' .....and don't allow them to tell you otherwise ....
And regarding the big outcry now that 'old' corruption cases cannot be prosecuted: I got already the same information some years ago: the legal expression was that this is 'statute barred' ...... a current administration (Government) cannot not prosecute a former one ....and also not its Members ... they can only be charged for crimes done outside their official position - anything done under the 'embrella' of being a Minister etc.etc. cannot be 'touched' ........ and this includes even murder (ask Scotland Yard why John Troon was not even allowed to speak to Biwott during the Ouko-Investigation .... protected by law, i.e. in this case personally by Moi .....)....

No I dont want to know ANYTHING from u. Thanks
ReplyDeleteI understand - Kenya, the Elections and its corruption and all the other scandals - is an 'internal job' ..... how can a Mzungu even think to give a comment or get involved .........
ReplyDeleteI give up ..... but don't cry for the help from outside when you realize that you can't do without 'us' ....... or when you need money ....
Arrogance is ignorance in this case ..... so take the blame and the responsibility ...... but don't cry when it's too late ....

You have very limited knowledge woman. The last time i checked, we funded 96% of our development projects. Are you sure the 4% would crumble our economy if it were withdrawn? And by the way when you talk of 'us' I imagine you are including yourself coz you are taxed by the swiss government. now 95% of the 4% comes from the US and the UK. What I am telling you is that the swiss contribution if there is any is negligible. Go tell them to withdraw it coz we dont really need it. And I promise you we 'wont cry'
ReplyDeleteCOuld someone ask the two sluts, vikii and the so-called marianne briner to shut their smelly kiinos. we not not want silly disputes about mandazi cooking and pullover knitting in this blog. These women are lowering our dignity by introducing silly cat fights. It is as if they are fighting over a man. nugu ici.
ReplyDeleteI wonder why people refuse to see facts for what they are.
ReplyDeleteIs it only me or did the gava conclude that the Molasses plant was awhite Elephant or some other color of elephant?
The machinery was just lying idle and the project was termed a failure. Comes one Raila and gets the thing going everyone turns red or is it green with envy. How does the employment of some youth who remember the govt has failed to provide jobs for be said to have rined the economy? Kwani nyinyi watu mmchizi ami mna lala kwa class sana?
