When news came through of a Donald Trump win in November 2024, the reaction from State house Nairobi was predictable. Even close Ruto ally and US envoy to Kenya, Meg Whitman (whom Kenyans had nicknamed Prime Minister) hurriedly resigned and left the country. Now that the 47th President of the United States has officially taken office, we are about to see first hand why State house was so terrified last November.
