What Uhuru Kenyatta Accomplished During His Presidency

Uhuru Kenyatta served as the President of Kenya from 2013 to 2022. His tenure was marked by significant achievements, particularly in infrastructure, regional diplomacy, and economic development.

One of his hallmark accomplishments was the development of Kenya’s infrastructure. Under his administration, the Standard Gauge Railway (SGR) was constructed, connecting Nairobi to Mombasa and later extended to Naivasha. This railway enhanced trade and transportation, reducing costs and travel time. He also oversaw massive road construction projects and urban developments like the Nairobi Expressway.

Kenyatta's leadership in regional diplomacy strengthened Kenya's role in East Africa. He worked to promote peace and stability in neighboring countries like Somalia and South Sudan. He was also instrumental in positioning Kenya as a hub for international business and tourism.

On the economic front, Kenyatta launched the "Big Four Agenda," focusing on affordable housing, manufacturing, universal healthcare, and food security. While progress in these areas faced challenges, notable strides were made, particularly in affordable healthcare through initiatives like the expansion of NHIF coverage.

Despite controversies over corruption and debt management, Uhuru Kenyatta's presidency left a legacy of modernization and regional influence, setting the stage for Kenya’s continued growth.
