Cracks in the Ruto Presidency: A Deepening Crisis

The situation for President William Ruto’s administration is increasingly dire, and it’s not just political speculation—it’s backed by recent events that can’t be ignored. Take, for example, an incident that occurred yesterday at a function meant to be attended by Deputy President Rigathi Gachagua. Despite having a reserved seat, Gachagua failed to show up, leaving the chair conspicuously empty throughout the entire event. Worse yet, this function was held at Gachagua’s own home village, and he was reportedly attending another function not far away. In a politically charged atmosphere, especially in the wake of the Endereta Academy tragedy where 21 children tragically lost their lives, his absence speaks volumes about the fractures within the government.

But that’s just the beginning. President Ruto’s recent trip to Germany has also turned into a public relations nightmare. During his visit, he proudly announced a deal to secure jobs for Kenyans in Germany, claiming the government had successfully negotiated with the German government to relax immigration laws. However, the German government quickly refuted Ruto’s claims, publicly stating that the deal was not as he described it. In fact, the deal also involved assisting Germany in deporting Kenyan nationals already residing there illegally. This not only undermines Ruto’s credibility but also raises serious questions about the true nature of these international agreements.

To make matters worse, the grilling of Roads and Transport CS, Kipchumba Murkomen, in the Senate revealed deep corruption within Ruto’s administration, further tarnishing the government’s image. Despite the widespread criticism, the controversial Adani deal is still moving forward, much to the dismay of many Kenyans. The details behind this deal, however, are far more complex and alarming, with links to a broader network of political maneuvering that keeps the deal intact.

In the face of all these scandals and internal conflicts, the Ruto presidency is facing a level of scrutiny and pressure that is hard to ignore. The cracks are beginning to show, and it remains to be seen how much longer this administration can withstand the growing storm.
