Six on Ocampo's List

William Ruto
Henry Kosgey
Hussein Ali
Joshua Arap Sang
Franscis Muthaura
Uhuru Kenyatta

These are the six individuals named for indictment in the International Criminal Court (ICC) at the Hague by special prosecutor Louis Moreno Ocampo earlier today. I am preparing a more comprehesive post to appear shortly on the unprecedetented turn of events. The big surprises on the list are Francis Muthaura and Joshua arap Sang who is a presenter with KASS FM.

Why Kibaki is the main target in Ocampo List of 6
Kenya comes full circle from the Kapenguria Six to the Ocampo six

  1. Could the The 6 be the key elements to getting to the heart of the initiators,instigators and propagators?What needs to be asked is: Did Francis Muthaura and Joshua Arap Sang in their positions of responsibility act as Propagators? Did they do this by way of their actions in terms of either Ommission or commission?

  3. I would have expected greater surprises but i have seen non. By omission, the two principles may be guilty but i guess there cannot be enough evidence to prove omission. I trust Ocampo's independence on this but I foresee a possibility of the suspects ending up with an aquital except Muthaura and Ali

  5. @ Ambrose

    Very revealing comment in terms of the evidence Ocampo is bound to have. But having said that I would put it differently;

    The case against Major Ali, Muthaura and Kosgey will be very easy to prove, but I doubt if Ruto will be able to get off easily.

  8. KISUMU.
    Granted, there was rampant destruction of property in Kisumu but most if not all the killings were orchestrated by the police. Destruction of private property is criminal but it does not constitute a crime against humanity. Then again, a call for mass action is not a call to kill, rape, plunder or burn houses.
