Looters Scramble Into ODM Ship

archive

Kenyans need to realize now that as much as most of us love ODM, there are now serious doubts that a Raila Odinga presidency will be able to make any serious progress against corruption.

All sorts of deals have been made with the devil himself to ensure that Raila makes it to State House this time round at all costs. So how will President Raila Amollo Odinga turn round and sell out the very characters “who lent him a donkey” for his campaign in the village and on his long journey to State House? Do not forget that Mwai Kibaki faced the same dialemma in 2003 and we all know what the result was.

Notorious Moi bagmen like Rashid Sayad whose idea of doing big time business is making life as difficult as possible for the ordinary Kenyan, have now declared their support for son of Jaramogi.

So has Cyrus Jirongo, the man who helped impoverish millions of Kenyans overnight by distributing an almost endless supply of printed Kshs 500 notes that were stuffed in cartons that reached up to the roof in Anniversary Towers, Nairobi in 1992. Experts say that the inflationary effects of that gimmick are something Kenyans will probably never recover from.

So after securing most of the...

  1. Chris, Lets give credit where it is due; ODM is a mass movement without any pre-conditons for Kenyan voters - and every one, including Derek, Vikii and Kioko are welcome to join it. My understanding is that individuals joining the party now are all aware that ODM will recover corruption money as well as correct public irregularities, but it will NOT necessarily punish those leaders of the past without following the rule of law. Sheria iko.

ODM has made it known time and time again that it is NOT interested in revenge; and it will work towards establishing a truth and reconciliation commission so that we can start on a clean slate. Sins against Kenyans started in the colonial days right through Kenyatta's, Moi's and now Kibaki's regime. This country has been through hell and back because of tribal segregation and economic inequalities. For those reasons, there is absolutely no need to make it worse by gunning for retribution. No one wants to see the likes of Moi in jail especially in his twilight years.

The Odinga presidency will be quite different from what you paint it. It will be unique in the history of this country because it wont be an individual who has been voted in but a group of people who have solid ideas for taking this country forward. More importantly, it is a guarantee, that Kenyans will get a chance to vote in a referendum for devolved constitution, which apparently can only facilitated through an ODM government. Therefore, those people you claim are looters (even before any court has judged them guilty) are within their rights to join a political grouping of their choice. Right?

  2. Phil, you must be a very smart student of Niccollo Machiavelli, arent you?

One thing I must tell you though, not even your great grand child is gonna see an Odinga presidency and I mean any Odinga.

  3. Quoting Phil's comment to 'Chris' , " therefore, those people you claim are looters (even before any court has judged them guilty) are within their rights to join a political grouping of their choice. Right?"

Is anyone only a corrupt looter who has taken Kenya through hell and back (glad we are back) if they are in the Kibaki camp? If you are one of 'those people' in the Raila camp, you are part of the group with solid ideas for taking this country forward. I personally am not ignorant or blind to history. I can only hope they can appoint a commission of inquiry to inquire into their own corruption. Or set up a truth and reconciliation committee that they can use to confess the wrongs they have committed against us. Or better still, put themselves behind bars. Oh, the wonders of a 'clean' Raila administration. These are the same people who took us decades back in the short but economically devastating Goldenberg era. Your insistence that some court has to judge them guilty simply because they are in the Raila camp is simply unpalatable.

    Hypocrisy personified.

  4. PKW, I think what you see as hypocrisy is really a subtle admission of the failures of the current administration. You see Kibaki has had up to five years to ensure that Raila, Ruto, Mudavadi and Kalonzo (of the Athi River land fraud fame) spent the rest of their corrupt days in jail. He as a matter of fact had the opportunity to ensure that everything Githongo dug up was acted on in a very expeditious fashion. Kibaki had the overwhelming support from us all to pursue stolen public money in foreign accounts (just ask MB). Are you still with me PKW, Kibaki had five years to rid the country of tribalism, nepotism, insecurity etc. It’s very heartbreaking to report that the man has failed terribly. My heart shatters into small pieces when I imagine how Kibaki has abused the mandate provided to him by the poorest of the poor in this our Kenya. Are you in tears yet PKW, do you remember listening to the election results of 2002 and how hopeful you were? Do you remember how elated you were when a man who had survived a car accident took the reigns of power from a confirmed thug of public resources (now best friends)? PKW, are you now saying that the goat eating parties held in celebration of Kibakis’ entrance into state house were all in vain? I remember Kenyans in the Diaspora (no offence Vikki) packing their bags, ready to return to their beloved mother country. The country was really awake from a long slumber, we were the most optimistic people. As the story goes, as soon as Kibaki settled his buttocks on that red seat with Kenyas court of arms on its back, all our dreams were killed in a flash. Truth be told.

In all seriousness, Kibaki will be remembered as the biggest mistake Kenyans ever made.

  5. Thank you Kalamari. Those are very bitter memories of me and millions of other Kenyans being conned out of our votes. In other words; NATIONAL BIG TIME FRAUD!

Too bad, PKW has obviously no idea about how a TRC works, and even more regrettable no due regard to the laws of the land.

MOB JUSTICE is no way to run a country nor apply judicial process. Its the same thing that Justice Ringera has been whinning about all week. And he has a point, because his brief does not include running the government prosecution office nor the Kenyan police, all of which fall under the executive arm of government!

  7. Phil and Kalamari are idiots. I can tell from their childish contributions that the two chaps are Kihiis. Tell us, do you also believe in wife inheritance? Do you go to funerals to bury the dead or to fill your stomach with ugali and omenas? Do you bath in common with your brothers, sisters, mother, and your kihii father in the dirty river Yala?Have you have a pit latrine back in your rural home at Bondo?
