In the fierce race for Machakos governor most analyists believe that
incumbent star governor Mutua has a slim chance of being re-elected.
Indeed even the fact that he is supporting the re-election of President
Uhuru Kenyatta in a NASA stronghold is bound to lose him votes. But now
it is emerging that there could actually be a lifeline for the embattled
governor from the most unlikely of sources.
NASA flag bearer Raila Odinga has insisted on supporting unpopular ODM
candidates in his own backyard and backing his preferred candidates. On
Sunday 4th June 2017 he encountered strong resistance and jeers from the
crowd for suggesting that they vote six-piece, implying that Rasanga,
