The Old Man Never Killed Ouko

Moi never did it.

I have written two novels, one with my good friend Marriane Brinner, in which I claimed Moi was the mind behind the murder of the late Dr. Robert Ouko. I'm aware that this is a matter most Kenyans have forgotten about, but I have not. I just don't find the crazy stuff Kibaki is doing with Ali and Ringera very sexy. In fact, the games the President is playing at State House just stink.

Back to Moi and Ouko.

I have come by new and compelling evidence that exonerate Moi on the Ouko issue. It takes a big man like me to own up when new evidence refutes allegations made earlier. So since the premise of those two books, The Night Bob Died and A Shining Star in darkness was that Moi killed Ouko, I want to state categorically that Moi never did it.

I have been walked through the chronology of events that led up to Ouko's death, including the key players...and how the same man who masterminded Bob's death eventually staged a commando raid at the late Hezekiah Oyugi's Kileleshwa home. What is fascinating is the way the murderer staged the event to look like an inside job in the Moi administration.

It wasn't.

The killer wasn't Moi...and neither was it Biwott.

Stay tuned!

  1. You should take to writing comical books or fairy tale stories for kindergaten schools not investigative serialist books. At this rate your books are fit for the gutters , nobody should and will ever taker you serious. You are either a perpatual liar or too dishonestand a peddler of rumuors.

Think of a better career like sales but not writing sir. Unfortunately for you, Kenyans are more intelligent than you think. alternatively try selling books. What you write sucks Mr Okello and you area busy body not sure of what you want in life.

  2. Are you marketing your novels here or just spreading hot air without any substance? "I was told"..."I have come across"...."I have been walked"..."was inside job"...I claimed"... Seriously speaking, what are you trying to say Bwana Okello? Just spit it out instead of penning this crazy mumbo jumbo or simply shut your trap. If you have come across the so called "new and compelling" evidence as you claim, what makes you think this time you are right unlike before? Yet despite the snide against Kibaki, you say absolutely nothing about your hero Raila's big silence when Kenya continues to be raped right, left and centre. Take a break, clear your head and come with something constructive to say. We shall give you some respectable hearing. Good Morning!

  3. we always believed Moi could not have done such a thing...you just have had to listen to every Moi's speech, all his spoken words, mannerisms and book written to know this is a man with strong positive values for the most part...fair, kind, forgiving, generous, non tribal. protective and enterpising - he kept kenya safe

  6. I read a book saying Lenin or Stalin used to have third world students in Russia killed if they appeared not convinced with the Soviet model; apparantely all this started some time soon after Kenyatta left Russia. Apparently Kenyatta argued with the then communist party leader of South Africa; the latter told kenyatta that he was just a petty bourgeoisie; Kenyatta replied: 'why not a big bourgeoisie?'

  8. Mr. Okello,

Whatever you are smoking, you should stop. It is not helping you or Kumekucha patriots deal with the real and immediate issues confronting Kenya. Your emotionally charged posts betray a disturbed mind: mara ati "Raila cries for Kenya at night;" mara ati "let us boycott Equity Bank because it is a Kikuyu bank;" and now ati "Moi didn't kill Ouko" as if someone said he did it, etc, etc.

Take a break and think hard how you could constructively help this country!!

  10. I like you spirit Bob. For long we as Kenyans have demonised Moi, and blamed all our past, present and future problems on his presidency and leadership.

If only we could learn to see things as they are without clouding it with our misplaced personal biases, tribal inclinations and misplace nationalism and patriotism.

  12. Okello,

Your post reminded me of my old box guitar at home. When I came back to Kenya after some 6 years foreign sojourn, I found when my kid brother who had tried to learn how to play it had not only ill-tuned it, but had lost two crucial strings. You can imagine the sound it produced. That's how you sound.

Or better still, you appear to be going in the direction of our Grand Confusion Govt. Make artificial changes in the Police force to divert attention from one illegality and when that fails, you resort to a reverse psychology of threatening to spill the beans.

Give us the new damn findings and let us make our own conclusions.

    Ja'Rusinga.
