Obama's Inauguration And The Hague-Bound Gentlemen From Kenya

What is unfolding about the upcoming Barack Obama inauguration is fascinating and indeed amusing in many ways.

Initially behind the scenes there was a clear push and pull between the ministry of foreign affairs and the PM's office over who will attend Obama's inauguration. The PM's office had even compiled a rather long list.

Then at some point it dawned on everybody that neither President Kibaki nor Prime Minister Raila Odinga had been invited and neither has anyone in the government.

Softly and quietly the word from the Obama camp was that while Kenyans have trumpeted themselves hoarse over ownership of Obama and moved to rehabilitate his family in record time. Obama is quite clear that he is first an American. And that Kenya will find its place in official US foreign policy. Sorry guys. No special favours.

Government officials have been scratching their heads to see how they can play out this embarrassment. Only 240,000 tickets are available for the presidential inauguration. The majority of them will go to American high flyers especially those who oil the democratic party machinery. Others will go to foreign dignitaries. For example the British premier may get 50 for himself and his delegation. The Queen of England may receive another 10 and so on. It is unclear whether any African head of state has got one. Mandela probably.

It is not lost on America that the two Kenyan gentlemen were behind atrocities that claimed the lives of well over 5000 of kenyans and are still having a possible date with the Hague. Not to mention the Waki probe yet to start and their being in charge of one of the most notoriously corrupt governments in Africa.

There are a limited number of tickets that are for sale. These go for US$ 50,000 a piece. And money is not enough, to get one you must have the right connections.

The Kenyan government are in a dilemma because if the buy, then those who don't get will spill the beans that they wasted taxpayers money to go to an event they were not invited to. Also it would be a major embarrassment to those who have claimed to be a step away from Obama yet now they cannot even go for his inauguration.

Meanwhile the Kogelo clan have been feted at the invitation of the Saudi Royal Family then the King of Jordan and are now on their way to the US where they will attend the inauguration.

Important Notice From Kumekucha: Somebody who is obviously up to no good has been repeatedly posting a comment in this blog claiming to be me an talking about me giving up this blog due to some silly cash reasons. It is not surprising that some people see this site as a threat to their evil ambitions and many of them will go to any length to try and discredit it.

Let me make it clear that this blog for me is NOT about money and I started it with the higher ideal of fighting for genuine change in Kenya. I urge readers to ignore any comments purporting to be me that many any wild claims about me giving up Kumekucha.

seriously mr chris, Kibaki, his wife and 7 other government delegates (and Kibaki gets to pick their names) have already been invited. in fact its Raila who has not received the invitation and has been camping at the American embassy negotiating for consideration...see photos in Todays Star page 3..

molasses Raila and his camp of murderors have woken up to the realisation that Obama has no tyme for their bigottry. it cannot pass mention that last year Kumekucha reported how Obama campaign team returned molasses contributions three times amounting to 50, 000 dollars.
who will help this bumpkin of bondo???

  2. Chris

    Glad you brought this up.

Firstly, because we have no FOREIGN AFFAIRS POLICY worth talking about means we continue to languish at the bottom of global political affairs in as far as it goes.

Secondly, the record of Kibaki's government since 2003 (when he made history as the first African President to be feted at White House to a man whose passport is blacklisted) has left a bitter after taste to the people who matter in Washington, London, Paris and elsewhere.

Thirdly, Alfred Mutua - as PNU spokesman - insulted then Senator Obama in 2006 when he visited Kenya and spoke against the grand corruption networks (when Anglo-Leasing was at its peak). The Kenyan Ambassador to US - Rateng Ogego - also told off Senator Obama in no uncertain terms. At that time, no one in their wildest imaginations though Obama would be elected US President.

Fourthly, during the same time, although Kibaki gave Obama audience at State House, it dawned many a Kenyan then that it was actually frustrations by Finance Minister Kibaki that led to the the Senior Obama being sacked from the Treasury as an Ecnomist and the stress turned him to an alcoholic and that eventually led to his death. How do you forgive someone who indirectly killed your father???

Fifthly, when Senator Obama was campaigning for the Democratic Party nomination, and the presidency; it was one Kalonzo Musyoka and another Mwai Kibaki who hosted Obama's fiercest critic in Kenya (JEROME CORSI) and the man actually visited the house on the hill before being deported by Otieno Kajwang for violating his visa conditions.

Sixthly, and to make matters worse, it was the Kenyan NSIS which provided propaganda and fake kenyan birth certificate showing that Obama was born in Kenya and therefore ineligible to be a US President. And this was done after Obama was already elected president!!!!!!!

Seventhly; Ambassador Ogego, going by Geneva conventions, will be representing our country at the inauguration. Never mind Ogego was recalled in December and has flatly refused to return home. Never mind, this is the same idiot who has been playing PNU/ODM politics instead of acting like the diplomat that he is. never mind this is the same cock-up who insulted the President elect when he dared to point out the ills we have in government hardly two years ago.

Considering all these facts; would it be fair to expect the State Department to extend an invitiation to a government consisiting of 50% of individuals who have had their VISAs withdrawn for "subverting democracy"???

On the other hand, Caroli Omondi - the Prime Minister Odinga's Admin Secretary - has been directly coordinating with the US Embassy on who will be travelling to the inauguration. Notice the Ministry of Foreign Affairs, specifically Minister Moses Wetangula, has been completely ignored in the whole exercise. As it is nobody knows if Raila Odinga will be attending this inauguration; after all he did not attend the Democratic PArty convention despite holding an official invitation.

It is pitiful and tragic Chris that we - as Kenyans - have been reduced to mere spectators despite the fact we share a heritage with the president elect. All blame should be directed to those people who staged a civilian coup on us. Those people who sign laws without knowing what they are signing. Those people who invited foreign mercenaries to raid our independent media.

To the Kibakis of this world, I say this: Please build more roads in Nyanza, expand rural electrification in Siaya and provide clean piped water to every village.... but SORRY, that will not appease the US State Department. (Why didnt the government you served for 40 years do this before??)

Talking of corruption, did you know the latest one which is being ignored by the media/Kumekucha concerns Triton Petroleum which has fleeced govt and banks up to 7 billion shillings and it's Asian owner given a safe passage back to India by hidden hands with something to hide?

Sounds familiar? Grand corruption by shadowy individuals and dummy companies. Safe passage for culprit mafia? The Deepak Kamanis, Arturs....After botched white wash investigations, greed and eating continues. Meanwhile a Nigerian Drug Lord is allowed to stay here in Kenya by a partisan judge even though immigration minister recommends his deportation?

All these madness continues because everyone knows we have a weak and indecisive president who is in deep slumber.

  15. I'm not surprised the we have not been invited. Sample this:

    1) Alfred Mutua - PNU spokesman - insulted (by referring to him as "just another Junior U.S senator of no consequence") then Senator Obama in 2006 when he visited Kenya and spoke against the grand corruption networks (when Anglo-Leasing was at its peak). The Kenyan Ambassador to US - Rateng Ogego - also told off Senator Obama in no uncertain terms. At that time, no one in their wildest imaginations thought Obama would be elected US President.

    2) When Senator Obama was campaigning for the Democratic Party nomination, and the presidency, Kalonzo Musyoka and Mwai Kibaki hosted Obama's fiercest critic in Kenya (Jerome Corsi).

    3) The Kenyan NSIS provided propaganda and fake Kenyan birth certificate purportedly showing that Obama was born in Kenya and therefore ineligible to be a US President. This was done after Obama was already elected president... Phew! The lengths to which people can hate others jus mind boggling. By the way this same NSIS was also involved in teh STEALING of the elections of Dec '07. These fellows were driven by the primitive and erroneous belief that a Jaruo (read Obama and Raila)- that is how they demeaningly refer to Luos - cannot lead.

And as Phil say: "All blame should be directed to those people who staged a civilian coup on us (the panua mongrels gang of robbers). Those people who sign laws without knowing what they are signing (Kibaki). Those people who invited foreign mercenaries to raid our independent media (John "the rattlesnake" Michuki, Narc activist wambui and daughter Winnie wa mwai et al)."

Chris has come to realise and is offering the readers enlightenment so that when they vote next time they may be wiser. They say u cant put new wine into old skins, in this case it will mean u cant trust the same politicians responsible for the mess we are in 2 handle the reform agenda.
    Let me make it more clear;
    PNU
    Kibaki
    Saitoti
    Kalonzo
    Mutula

    ODM
    Ruto
    Sally Kosgey
    Henry Kosgey
    Ntimama
    Mudavadi
    just to name a few

all the above served under Moi. So can we really trust these politicians who aided, abbetted and were directly involved in some of the worst ills to carry forward the reform agenda?? Be wise guys and think about how we can get new guys to run the agenda of the country. Look forward not backwards.

As much as we may blame the leaders, the people who bear the biggest blame are we the Kenyan mwananchi. The leaders we have are just a reflection of us.

The core values of the majority of Kenyans are FRAUD, DECEPTION and THEFT. These values are anchored in self hatred and very poor self esteem.

Just tell me, where in the civilized world can a president stand up in public and in broad daylight call his countrymen and women Pumbavu, mavi ya kuku, bullshit and get away with it? Only in uncivilized Kenya.

Where in the civilized world can a a president STEAL an election in broad daylight and get away with it? Only in uncivilized countries such as Kenya and Zimbabwe.

I could give more examples but time is short.

eddlove, my point is this: All this madness and nonsense being perpetrated by our leaders succeeds in being done because a lot of us average Kenyans are accomplices. For example: Kibaki STOLE elections and yet even upto now you will still hear quite a large number of Kenyans saying that Kibaki won fair and square, despite the fact that Kivuitu and gang were found to have failed in the job of carrying out a free and fair electoral process. We Kenyans and our primitive values are the problem.

  19. Chris said,

"...I started this blog with the higher ideal of fighting for genuine change in Kenya"

What change? Constant moaning and whining is that what you call change?

Change is when you bring about the Paradigm shift in people's mind by posting articles that would allow them to undergo metamorphosis, which should be accompanied by a change of thinking and behaviors and challenge them to aim high in life.

Nobody is denying that Government is a not doing very well. Nobody is denying that there is inequality and corruption in Kenya, even if the definition of inequality is argumentative. Nobody denies that country is in poverty and it is losing innocent souls every day through preventable diseases, famine, and the like. However, brainwashed Kenyans try to tell us the facts that we know very well in a distorted way filled with their subjective analysis which is more of prejudice rather than scientific, which is more inclined to show personal writing skills rather than illuminating awareness based on objective analysis, which is directed more towards discouraging those who are working hard day and night to bring about REAL CHANGE.

PS: I am changing my name to "McLaren Mercedes MP4-23". The person who drove that car in 2008 is invited to Obama's inauguration. That person like Obama also represents real change and made history in the same week with Obama by becoming the first black...

I challenged you to do something with your life that will leave legacy behind.

If kibaki stole elections then the ODM leaders are bad for sanctioning the murder of thousands and the displacemnt of thousands.

Evidence is quit evident here when ODM lament and PNU insult back. People dont realise that its not really the leaders that have dragged them to the mad nut it the Un wise use of their right to vote. Lets be smart

My two cents worth then. Kibaki has been painted in this blog always as worse that devil incarnate. Even in regard to media relations he is painted like a despot who jails you for saying nyee. But we have longer memories than that. Salim Lone, yes, he of the ODM, once praised Kibaki as the only man who was standing up for different opinion from the powers that be.
When no politician would touch Ngugi wa Thiong'o Kibaki was attending his book lauches and when no government minister had balls to attend JM Kariukis burial this guy did.

I am certain he has made mistakes along the way and I am certain a very mad blogger here will call me all sort of names for this but the guy is your typical kenyan politician. Self preservation has been perfected by Kibaki and Raila and we might as well stop calling each other malaya here and find a new order because neither Kibaki, Raila kalonzo etc represent the old and rotten order that must go.

During Moi's darkest days of dictatorship, it was mostly the Luos who kept Moi's torture chambers in Nyayo House running like a clockwork!

    1. Hezekial Oyugi was the PS for internal security in charge of ordering detentions.
    2. Bernard Chunga was Deputy Public Prosecutor (later promoted to Chief Justice for a job well done)- he took the detainees to court past 5 O'clock with forced confessions.
    3. James Opiyo was in-charge of torturing and forcing confessions from detainees at Nyayo House.
    4. A network of Luo judges and magistrates kept their courts open past 5 O'clock to receive and sentense the detainees.
    5. Dalmas Otieno owned and ran Thabiti Finance through which the Luo judges, magistrates, torturers and other collaborators were paid.

Don't loose sleep over something you have no control over. The fact is Raila Odinga has not been invited to attend his 1st cousin's inauguration why??? You have attempted to explain why Kibaki was not invited but not why Washington did not see it fit for Odinga to grace his cousin's inauguration.

  45. Some comments here are just too monotonous. Even when people are discussing serious topics, someone badges in with "stolen elections," "kibaki ordered killings in eldoret," "kibaki is going to Hague," kibaki this ... kibaki that ... karua HIV ...
Please, GET A LIFE! EVERYBODY IN KENYA KNOWS THESE THINGS WE DONT NEED TO BE REMINDED ALL THE TIME!!

  46. Dear Kumekuchans,

Sample the following events of one week:
    1. A Luo drug kingpin has been arrested in UK.
    2. Mr. Ong'ong'a - Chairman of Kenya Tourism Board has been booted out for corruption
    3. Mr. G. Okungu - MD of Kenya Pipeline Company has been sent on leave for fleecing KPC.

Is this an aberration or the tip of an iceberg? And what is the role of the PM in these scandals?

  48. IMPORTANT ANNOUCEMENT

It is with great sadness that Kumekucha has to announce that it is withdrawing from the internet with immediate effect.

In these difficult financial times it has become impossible to justify this blog's continued presence in what has always been a very expensive arena of competition. Kumekucha has always found taking part in the internet to be a powerful and authoritive voice to reckon with, but, in the current economic climate, we have realised that this is essentially nonsense and it's time to stop spunking money away on embarrassing failure in the public eye. I am therefore looking for another job.

Once again thank you for your support.

    Lots of love

    -Kumekucha-

  49. Here comes the FRAUDULENT Chris imposter character @ 4:13 AM again with his FRAUDULENT claims about Kumukucha; attempting to pull a fraudulent Kibaki stunt... It will not work!

KumeKucha is here to stay. Go stuff your fraudulent claims up your rear exit point.

These are the panua mongrels who get so rattled by the truth Kumekucha exposes a la John "the rattlesnake" Michuki - it almost scares them to death. If Kumekucha rattles you so much then do not type the letters "www.kumekucha.blogspot.com" on your web browser address bar. The exposure of the truth pains, depresses and breaks your panua mongrel heart that is infested with FRAUD, DECEPTION and THEFT.

  50. Corrupting an innocent mind starts with small details that seem harmless.

Soon somebody else will post Obama's pic with boxers ... and since its someone we like and admire it will be kinda 'acceptable'. Then what next? ur guess is as good as mine, his whatevers will be all over ... just a matter of time.

  51. That would be nice too, esp since no more media regulation. More peese!
