Here is a widely circulated email that has been doing the rounds, highlighting Kibaki tribal appointments. The President's handlers should not ignore this trend now emerging (which is exactly what happened in the run up to referendum) where anti-Kibaki emails are beginning to circulate with a vengeance. They have to come up with a counter-strategy that is not tribal and they have to do so pronto.
Dear Friends,
Please give me a minute......
Since the days of the great economist Adam Smith, it has come to be accepted globally that there cannot be true development without participation of the people. Any approach that exclusively concentrates on statistics at the expense of the people would result into 'human beings being seen only as instruments of production rather than as free entities for whose welfare and cultural advance the increased production is intended...' (See Five-Year Perspective, 1960- 1964, UN Doc. E/3347/Rev. 1, Para. 90 (1960))
In Kenya, unfortunately, we have hyped so much the statistical 5.8 economic growth without asking ourselves who is participating in and therefore benefiting from that growth!! In deed you don't have to be a special branch (or is it NSIS) agent to know the beneficiaries of the Kenyan economy. A close look at the public service appointments and the buyers of privatised public institutions will tell you how Kibaki is using his entrusted position to sell Kenya to his tribesmen at the expense of the rest of Kenyans!! (see below)
And yet he claims to be an economist-------
Even moi who was a non-economist tried to involve all Kenyans in the little development in the KANU era!....
It is no wonder that the people selling the statistical development record of Kibaki as a campaign tool are the very beneficiary from Kibaki's tribe!....
Kenya is for all of us!! We must all benefit equally from the rich resources that God has endowed our country with. We must therefore stand up and say no to tribalists like Kibaki who believe that Kenya is made up of only his tribesmen!!
Kenya is for Kenyans of all tribes, colour and creed not just Kikuyus or people from Central or GEMA! Shame on Kibaki. Atoke kabisa! We have no more space for tribalists.
And just for those who may dismiss this piece as mere propaganda see the FACTs below!!

More Evidence of Key Appointments Strategy?
Is it mere coincidence that during the tenure of former President Moi, the CCK (Communications Commission of Kenya) was headed by a Kalenjin and now under Kibaki, it is a Kikuyu at the helm?
Interestingly, during the Kibaki administration the Postal Corporation of Kenya docket seems to have become a preserve of the Luo community. The current Postmaster general is Fred (we used to call him "Nigga" in school) Odhiambo.
It is like heading a large multi-national corporation and then appointing those close to you to head the Information technology division (equivalent of CCK) and then naming other insignificants for cosmetic reasons to the stationary division (equivalent of Postal Corporation Of Kenya). IT is in and it is the future while stationary is rapidly dwindling because of the widespread use of computers, folks hardly need letterheads in the quantities they previously required them in. In fact we are fast heading towards a paperless office (so what will stationary shops sell in future if even paper clips will be obsolete?)
It is common knowledge that the P.O. Box era is rapidly coming to an end and this is the reason why the Postal corporation has been struggling to reposition itself and find a new identity and viable profit center. To his credit Mr Odhiambo has recently overseen the bold launch of a new money transfer service, sadly as you read this, it is being swifly wiped out by the Safaricom new M-Pesa money transfer service that is so cheap to use that it is unbelievable. Sample this. To send up to Kshs 35,000 to a registered M-Pesa account holder costs only 30 bob (yep, 30 Kenya shillings, this is not a typo).
So what are we saying here? That if the next president of Kenya is Kalonzo, we will see a Kamba heading the CCK and if it is Raila we will see a Mr Odhiambo heading it?
