Kidero and MPs for Kibera A, Kibera B would have not been elected.

Massive cheating, rigging, vote buying by Jubilee took place.Voting kits were programmed to fail. Voter registry was tamperred with (IEBC had same server as Jubilee). IEBC, CJ, SC were threatened, or paid heavily. We suppose. Truth will one day come out.

Let the truth be said. Their millions of voters came out and registered en masse. This was due to opinion polls showing Raila was ahead. Not only did they register by higher margin than CORD, but their turn out was quite impressive!

At first I thought Raila would make inroads in Kalenjin and Meru nations, but when few results from those areas started trickling in, I knew the game was over!

Add the surprisingly healthy results Jubilee got in areas like Kisii, Lamu, Maasailand and North Eastern and you will not be left with any doubt that Jubilee floored CORD quite decisively.

On the issue of campaigns, Uhuru had a more healthy and robust one compared to his opponents. The message of "change" and "youth" touched many voters. The election was also some sort of referendum on ICC and the minute Wazungu nations started yapping "choices have consequences" the tide turned against them because Africans are very proud people who don't like being bossed around by Johnny Foreigners.

Raila's team that comprised Kalonzo was cobbled up hurriedly in the last minute. We know from American cables leaked by Wikileaks that Uhuru and Ruto started hatching plans to grab power years back. Now when someone like Wetangula spoke to restless youth in his boring demeanor, they quickly fell asleep.

This election will be debated for years, but to me even if there had been a run off, Raila would still have been thrashed quite severely. IEBC and Uhuru's lawyers in Supreme Court is what I would call a dream team! Raila's lawyers botched the little chances he had big time and we all saw it.

2013 was Raila's best chance to take power. This is because he was facing two guys weighed down by grave charges from ICC and no one expected a Kikuyu to replace a fellow Kikuyu. So if you can't beat such guys with so much baggage, who can you beat honestly?

Let's not forget Raila was part of the much hated "nusu mkate" govt and many Kenyans tried hard but couldn't see anything tangible the certified reformer had done. Actually, his side was severely dented by so many corruption scandals and nepotism that rocked the Govt. In essence, he was limping from that when he should have made dramatic change and progress with his 'nusu mkate' side of coalition.M. This book is different. I read it at work and did nothing that whole day. I just couldn't stop reading it. This guy has insights into the way Kenya works and most of the burning questions I had about those strange presidential elections were answered in this very revealing read. Best political book I have read in a very very long time. I really hesitated before writing this comment because Chris Kumekucha is an erratic blogger and my deepest fear is that this honest view from my heart will go into his head and he will disappear once again from the blog as he frequently does which would be a disaster at a time when our mainstream media is so shallow and biased. Prove me wrong Chris.Anonymousnoreply@blogger.com
