Clashes '08 Are Coming Back In 2022: Governor Confirms

In an almost joking manner Makueni Governor Kivutha Kibwana casually delivered a chilling prediction for 2022.

“A time is coming in our country when we will need peace to be made…hata hakuna maana ya kurushiana maneno na president, hiyo wakati umepitwa,” Kibwana said.

What did he really mean? Could he be onto something? Is there any evidence or clear signs we can look at to support what Kibwana says is coming for sure? This video has the answers to those disturbing questions.

The governor said that the August 9 election is very close, and that it will be impossible for the next president to rule without the help of the other.

“It is better as Kenyans to prepare ourselves for that.”

His comments come as Uhuru and Ruto rivalry has intensified and taken centre stage ahead of election, as Azimio and Kenya Kwanza desperately lock horns.

A consensus of a panel of economists from 16 global banks, consultancies and thinkers recently warned Kenya to look out for political tension. This does not come as a surprise to most political analysts.

The panel from FocusEconomics underscores the importance of the conduct of the national election and the political temperatures around the polls as key determinants of how fast Kenya will recover the economy.

This means that the Independent Electoral and Boundaries Commission (IEBC) and the National Cohesion and Integration Commission (NCIC) will have very important roles to play.

The NCIC must step up vigilance on incitement and violence and crack down on politicians stoking conflict and hiring criminal gangs.

The commission should also work closely with key stakeholders like religious leaders to ensure peace prevails despite political differences.
