The MP for Nyandarua North in 1975, J.M. Kariuki had been missing for 12
days with the government insisting that he was in Zambia on official
business. Then a policeman took a huge risk to his career and even life
when he made a trip to Kilimani in Nairobi to deliver a message to the
family that would trigger one of the most dramatic days Kenya has ever
