Out Of Court Settlement For MP Rape Case?

 The name Gideon Mwiti has become a household name in Kenya virtually overnight and many Kenyans are keenly following developments in this landmark rape saga where a sitting MP has been accused by a victim.

The latest is that impeccable sources say that the legislator has made spirited attempts to settle the matter out of court. So far the victims' lawyer, Harun Ndubi has ruled out any possibility of his client withdrawing her complaint in return for monetary compensation.

In another development police investigators yesterday summoned the legislator to record another statement because his initial one was found to have way too many contradictions.

Despite what the alleged rape victim says through the lawyer, one cannot rule out a settlement out of court in this matter. Although the clock is rapidly ticking towards a possible charge against the MP. Once in court (if it lands there) the matter will be further complicated as far as the legislator's survival is concerned.

It seems that this is the Kenyan way of settling violent crimes against women. In September 2013 Nairobi Governor Evans Kidero slapped Nairobi women's representative Rachel Shebesh right in front of rolling TV cameras. The matter was ultimately settled out of court for what insiders revealed was millions of shillings.

The law emphasizes that NO suspect is guilty of a crime until it is proven in a court of law.

So why don't you consider the following tongue-in-the-cheek look at the facts surrounding the Gideon Mwiti (pictured) case and make your own conclusion?

* Rape did not take place. The complainant injured themselves or got somebody else to do it to such an extent that they ended up in hospital for the sole purpose of nailing the said MP.

* Rape victims are supposed to be very cool and calm after being raped and so the fact that the victim drove herself home instead of straight to hospital means that she was NOT raped.

* The fact that the MPs' story is filled with contradictions can only mean that he is so appalled at the false accusations coming from nowhere that he has panicked. He is innocent. Poor man.

* Drunk men do NOT rape and so the fact that the MP was drinking means that he is innocent.

* The fact that an HIV test was carried out on the woman only means that the MP was being extra careful because HIV AIDs is still a mystery and can probably be passed through body fluids left in the documents being handled by both. He was just being careful and did not rape anybody.

* That is why when the victim initially refused to take the HIV test the MP assaulted her telling her; "Kwani you want to kill me? You know what the test is for, don’t be a child.”

* The MP looks too innocent to hurt a fly and so he definitely did not rape.

* The victim was a director in one of Hon Mwiti’s companies, where she had been contracted to draft a training curriculum for sales. Bosses in Kenya never ever rape their female employees least of all a honorable MP and this is why it is safe to assume that rape never happened.

* The MP claims 15 people were with him that evening in his own account of the events. Those are too many people and MPs in Kenya are known never to bribe anybody and so the MP is innocent. Safi kama pamba.

* The hospital report also notes that she was “emotional, and had on a torn skirt and blouse”. Chances are that the said victim is a good actress and all this was stage managed just to nail the poor MP.

* The hospital notes further classified the victims' case as a “suspected rape, with soft injuries on the lips, cheeks, chest and abdomen secondary to physical assault.” Hey, it was after 1 am in the morning and people are not at their best at such hours. Conclusion is that all this physical evidence is unreliable at best.

I will never forget that fateful Friday near Imara Daima estate when the most terrible thing that can ever happen to any woman happened to me.

We drove on as they took our wallets, mobile phones and even my brand new tablet which I had in the car then. I was dressed as most would be dressed for a Friday night out with a mini skirt and regretted it as the guy kept on looking at my thighs.

After some time the driver ordered me to slow down. I heard the door at the back open and they pushed out my boyfriend onto the road and ordered me to drive on and gather speed. I was too terrified to even think but still wondered why they had done this. I did not wait for long to find out. The burly guy asked me to slow down in some dark side alley a few minutes later. I obeyed.

He looked at me menacingly and ordered me to remove my panties. I was both scared and horrified and really begged him not to do what he wanted to do but my pleas fell on deaf ears. Not even my tears had any impact.

Three of them raped me and none of them used a condom. It seemed to last forever but finally it was over. They then dumped me and drove off in my car.

Fortunately I was able to get help from a boda boda who was passing by and he took me to a police station. The cops didn't seem shocked or concerned but thank God my boyfriend had already reported the matter to the same station and left his number behind.

We had been robbed of everything and I did not have a cell phone to call him, all the cops said they did not have airtime for me to call. The same bodaboda guy left to buy some airtime and we called my friend who came immediately and took me to hospital. I was treated cleaned and put on ARVs for a month to protect me from HIV and birth control pills to protect me from pregnancy. It took me a while to get over all this but being safe from HIV and pregnancy brought back my strength and I am now happily married.

When this happens to you do not be ignorant. Seek medical help and fight to be safe.

What if the long list of famous Kenyans born at Pumwani hospital were all switched at birth? That would mean that they are NOT who they (or us) think they are and only a DNA test would be conclusive and halt wagging tongues.

Pumwani Maternity Hospital has had a very long history of babies being born and switched. In fact in the latest racket going on at the hospital poor mothers who give birth are told that their babies have died only for them to be sold off in a very lucrative side business going on right inside Kenya's largest and oldest maternity hospital.

It is said that some nurses at the hospital are the ones involved in the evil illicit business where a baby girl costs a whooping Kshs 50,000.

KDF Capture Last al Shabaab Stronghold

KDF and the Somali military operating under the AMISOM banner a few hours ago took control of al Shabaab's last key stronghold of Kuday.

Kuday is an island in Kismayo, in the Lower Juba region and was the last remaining Al Shabaab stronghold in the region. It has been a key logistical and operational base used to launch attacks in Southern Somalia. It also served as a key point for entry of contraband goods into the area.
Casualty figures were not given after the fierce fire fight that led to the capture but official sources said; "scores of al-Shabaab fighters were killed, five vehicles destroyed and assorted weapons and ammunition seized." The statement from the department of defence in Nairobi added; “This is a major loss to the militia as it limits its freedom of action." Read the full report.

So are Kenyans safer now? Well, according to past scenarios terrorists usually get more active and vicious when left without a base or stronghold to operate from. Kenyan security analysts are however confident that this will be a difficult blow for the terror group to recover from. Only time will tell.

Women find me easy to talk to and that is why over the years I have learnt a lot about what really goes wrong in marriages. I have watched know-it-all marriage counselors get it all wrong simply because they have focused on the symptoms rather than try and look deeper for the disease causing it all.

Ridiculing your husband's size (something most women like to do) just makes things worse.

 

Let me give you a simple real life example that I have witnessed way too many times. If a woman has a problem with the size of her husband's tool do you think she would easily confess it to some stranger trying to arbitrate between the couple? It wouldn't even be easy for her to convince even herself that this was the crux of the whole problem. Granted marriage is all about love and understanding BUT you cannot ignore the human element and the physical needs of any normal human being.

 

In one particularly bad case the wife started ridiculing the husband about his size every time he demanded his conjugal right. This made things worse for the husband who resorted to going to bed fully dressed to hide his "shameful size." He even went into the shower with clothes to change. the wife got even more frustrated and after the inevitable divorce has been going round town making jokes with her friend that her husband's size was akin to the butt of a smoked cigarette. It is therefore not surprising that the woman's husband has actually attempted to murder her. But that is a story for another day.

 

No man chooses his size. Although there is a school of thought that says Masai's (who seem to attract women from as far off as Europe partly because of their size) are generally bigger because they do not wear trousers and children should therefore not wear tight underwear as they row as this could lead to serious "marital problems" later in their lives.

 

The most important thing here is compatibility. There will always be somebody out there that was made for you no matter what size you are. They too will be abnormally small or that part of the marriage will not be as important to them as it is to some women.

The practice of witchcraft and devil worship is on the increase in the world, more so in Africa spurred by new challenges and increased financial difficulties. This evil could be the key to unlocking the mystery of the strange creature discovered recently in South Africa.

Some locals are even convinced that it is an evil spirit that has escaped from the bowels of hell itself and a sure sign that the end of time is nigh.

These may all sound like some far fetched tales more so for most people who believe that there is nothing on the face of the earth which does not have a scientific explanation. Actually this is being extremely naïve because there are way too many strange and scientifically unexplained things that happened daily all over the world. There is no doubt that the super natural actually exists whether or not we want to acknowledge the fact.

But just to humor all those of you who will always want to stick to science there is yet another new opinion from experts who now say that the creature could be some kind of mutated species and could be made up of several different creatures. Now that is the most convincing theory I have heard from experts on this case so far.

It is true that we have really messed up the planet we live in with all our dangerous get-rich-schemes that introduce harmful chemicals and all kinds of poisonous substances all the time. Bizarre mutations are bound to happen.

Still the reality here is that this latest scientific theory has no proof or evidence to back it up yet.
