Movie Premiere: Uhuru Scare ICC, Muthaura Free

Poor ICC chief prosecutor has been hit in the face with by full force of raw power. Even before President-Elect Uhuru Kenyatta recovered from his victory celebrations Fatour Bensouda has thrown in the towel by dropping charges against Mr Muthaura.

Her reasons for acquitting Muthaura betray her fears of the new president. The excuse that several people who may have provided important evidence have died is a real excuse walking on stilts.

Add that to Fatou's claim that other witnesses are too afraid to testify for the prosecution. If they were afraid before last week then they will be PETRIFIED with Jomo Junior as the CEO calling the shots from the seat his dad used to occupy while flogging ministers

Game changer

Desperate Bensouda laments about being disappointed by Kenya's government failure to provide her with important evidence. That must be superlative naivety to expect a convict to shoot himself in booth feet.

Just like that Turbo farmer Muteshi forgetting suing the CRYING-WITH-JOY Deputy President William Ruto over a mere 100 acres of land, ICC must forget entertaining the lie that Uhuru can facilitate access to witnesses.

The key witness Kabutu made his corn and relocated. The same guy was central to Uhuru's indictment so game over. All that whining about witness number 4 recanting his evidence and admitting taking bribes is academics meant for researchers.

Oh and what a fat empty threat by Fatou's threat that dropping Muthaura's case today is based only on the specific facts of the case against Mr Muthaura, and not on any other consideration.

Damn the west, they can go hung collectively and separately. China will dutifully fill the void.

Kenyans made their choice and are ready to lie on the bed they made.

    Poor Taabu & co.!

The African Teacher, sitting on that LONELY, but ancient rock [TRUTH], told you for FREE that, ICC is a KANGAROO COURT which is worse than the Kibera Court!

So, after wasting millions of dollars and blasting our ears with blah blah she just came to realize witnesses were lying?

    BULL SHIT!

Every case that has been tried in the Hague has been nothing, but, BRIBERY OF WITNESSES!

We may even go further. Even the so called Nuremberg Trials were a SHAM!

So, so called international justice is WASTE OF TIME and upumbavu!

Ati witnesses have died? We thought the ICC had custody of these witnesses?

    Grrrrrrrrrr!

Kenya is the BURIAL PLACE of two things:

    - the oldest bones of humans [ Turkana Boy], and

    - justice!!!

Anyway, as we watch the ICC MOVIE, we leave to enjoy:

  2. That was expected. the real culprit was Kibaka. He will retire and may be want to go for shopping to London or NY. He will be delivered directly to the Hague. Muthara was just a seat warmer. We knew this right from the beginning.

  3. Could it be that the West is beginning to make deals with Uhuru, or Uhuru is making deals with the west? Maybe China will not have access to oil, as they had hoped.

How much longer can he live
    Pardon me.
Uk is best addressing the Pev victims plight that he is now in power. After all jubilee promised those alive that they will look into their plight-and they voted him to a man.
Uk should ignore ICC and make good with Hesse victims. It would be a winner to many of us.

Without justice to the victims, many souls will live a restless life-including that of he cic who of late has been acting " remorsingly" .

  7. Shahidi nambri 4.

    Kweheri.

  8. Let us be fair, the two main culprits got away with it in broad day light, and both of them will soon retire in peace and with a lot money to go shopping any where they want around the world.

Muthaura was just a smokescreen to hoodwink both the ICC and the local public.

What did we expect after all after the president-elect and deputy president-elect kissed and made up for the sake of their people and communities?

Truth and Reconciliation Commission may end being the only avenue for the two communities that have already shown signs that they can work miracles together for the greater good.

As for Kamwana, he still has very powerful friends in higher places all over Europe, in the Middle East, and now in China.

So, those people over there in the Atlantic and the Britis isle are not going to dare him nor try and force his hand into starting direct trade relations with Sudan, Zimbabwe, Iran and North Korea in the next couple months.

They sure know better and may end swallowing their pride by looking the other way because he is well educated and not a former bus driver and union leader like the deputy-president to the late Hugo Chavez.

The majority of the Kenyan people have spoken through the polls and as one former veteran diplomat said it as it is, in very simple terms that, We need Kenya more than they need us right now.

So, what are the majority of us going to do given the hand we have been dealt whichever way?

End up sending to prison - Kamiti, King'ong'o, Naivasha, Shimo-la-Tewa, Kodiaga, Manyani, Shikusa, Garissa, and elshwere, every Kenyan who took part or was involved in the post-election violence?

  10. We are who we are and that is why it is easy for a villager to be introduced to a more developed capital city like Kumekucha, but at the same time it is very difficult to convince the villager from Ukingoni village in Usiku-wa-Manane County to get rid of the village mentality of forming quick opinions or conclusions just by listening to people's light - coumofluged - accents, as well as looking at their faces through a tainted village prism.

So, being who some of us are and have always been for a long time due to our limited worldview and upbringing in the remote homesteads of Ukingoni village, - with all due respect to the person and office of ICC chief prosecutor - we had very little hesitation in asking what city, county or region of Kenya is Mrs. Fatou Bensouda from given her dignified look and tribal facial features as portrayed in the caption in question?

There are few women from Ukingoni village who have already indicted that her ancestral roots seem to crisscross through three or four regions of Kenya.

Well, well, well, as for the facial features of Makamu wa Rais Mteule William Ruto and Rais Mteule Uhuru Muigai Kenyatta, they are what they are and there is not a single question about their origins that spread across Eastern North Africa,.

  11. Kenyans made their choice and are ready to lie on the bed (full of thorns) they made (on March 4th, 2013).

Kenya's population is roughly estimated to be around 41,609,728 plus.

Therefore, the real question on the minds of many Kenyans and objective international observers is why should there be consequences for the rest of 35,609,728 plus Kenyans?

While it is now a known fact that the final election results spoke for themselves, whereby, over six million vote(r)s are the only ones who were brave enough to disregard the pronounced warnings and went on to endorse Unhuru Muigai Kenyatta's bid for the presidency on Match 4th, 2013.

The question remains, must the 35,609,728 Kenyans suffer the same fate or consequences due to the obvious rational and democratic choices that were made by their fellow Kenyans, six million plus in number?

The six million plus vote(r)s are Kenyan citizens who just happened to vote for an alternative political party, coalition and presidential candidate of their choice, in the same way patriotic American citizens from the Democratic and Republican parties voted during the last November 5th, 2013 presidential
    election.

So, what type of intended consequences will be imposed or rather inflicted upon the majority of the Kenyan population due to the political choices that have already been made by their fellow Kenyans?

Will there be a calcualted reduction in the number of visas and green cards issued or offered to any Kenyan citizen willing to travel to the United States of America for one reason or another?

Or, will consequences be served out in the form of drastic cutbacks with regard to the one billion in aid that Kenya gets every year?

And if some of us may ask, what does the one billion aid package really really do or translate into for the average Kenyans living in the rural areas of the country?

Where is the proof on ground, the real tangibles or accrued benefits derived from the one million in aid packages that have been realized by the common mwananchi?

My father's former village is still waged in the dark ages, and the people living therein have yet to have access to basic services at a very rudimentary level.

So, how will the imposed consequences hurt them beyond what they have already been living through on a daily basis in the last six decades?

    ReplyDelete
  12. Damn the west, they can go hung collectively and separately.

Believe it or not, they - people in the West - really do not care and they have never cared about the plight of common mwananchi as long as they are provided with a lifelong guaranteed access to the country's national parks, the prestine coastal resorts, tailored cultural entertainments, plum expatriate job, bwana kubwas status, and above all, a huge share in highly exclusive and profitable businesses and constracts that Kenya can offer.

So, why should they - the West - care about the common wananchi's ending self-inflicted problems that never seem to end?

For instance, how many times can the West - given their goodwill -continue to direct and redirect the common wananchi and their political leaders into taking proven paths intended to lead to them and their nation to sustainable heights of prosperity and self-reliance for all?

Whose problem is it, when the common wanachi and the ruling elite fail to the advise they have always been given since the early 1960's?

And why should the West care after all, let alone be forced or blackmailed into providing continuous care or babysiting the common mwananchi who seem never to care about their own welfare and country in the first place?

For our overdue information, let it be known that there is so much that the West can do, there are limits to it, and there after that, the common wananchi have no one to continue blaming for their own self-inflicted problems but themselves.

The power to change their sociopolitical circumstances and economic matters for the better is within their collective hands, and they should STOP LOOKING UP to the west for every simple solution to their problems in the same their great great-grandparents did and wasted a lot of precious time and golden opportunities during the late 1800s, and early-mid 1900s.

The key to a better Kenya, a better life for all common wananchi and brighter future is in their own strong collective hands.

Time to be less dependent on the West, inspite of their seasonal charitable gestures.

  13. The word in the streets and on many people's lips is that the Chinese will or may dutifully fill the void left behind by the Americans, British and other European establishments, yes and not really.

While the March 4th, 2013 general election may just have been completed, Kenyans should not throw caution to the wind but be very wise enough not be carried away by their next course of action.

It is therefore incumbent upon winners, losers and their various supporters to heed the ancient warning that is still relevant to our country's specific sociopolitical and economic situations, to Fear the Chinese, even those bearing gifts of infrastructure development on a massive scale, cheap affordable goods, and promises of unaccountable shippments of tons and tons of contraband.

Simply put, there is ain't no such thing as a free lunch, especially bowls of warm and cozy noodle soup from the Chinese government, corporations, businessmen, individuals, and common street vendors.

Lest we forget, there is always a very hefty hidden cost involved when dealing with Chinese government and Chinese merchants of the so-called affordable goods and services, and where very few or zero questions are asked.

Most of the recent gunshot partnerships - that being fronted as corporations between equal partners - involving China and African countries like Kenya, the type that do not have well defined and real in-built legal checks and balances, may come back to haunt the unsuspecting recipients, or gullible African political leaders.

Further, the real premium attached to doing business with China may end up costing many African nations, including Kenya, a lot more they seem to have alredy bargain for in the first place.

For instance, the sovereignty of the African countries involved in business with China may end up being compromised and in worst case scenarios, held hostage in form of billions and billions of 'run-away dragon loans' and massive debts that may take up to four to five decades in order to be repaid by the next generations of Africans.

So, Kenyan political leaders and the concerned citizenry, beware of the modern day Chinese Greeks bearing tantalizing business deals, contracts, aid, easy solutions and gifts that may sem handy at the moment.

Ole wetu and the next three to four generations, if we don not pay necessary attention as a people and nation.

  14. Taabu,

When is our country's high court likely to release some grey, green or blue signals to indict whch direction or course of action it is bound to take before the final preparation for the swearing in ceremony of the newly elected head of state and his deputy are done in a couple of days?

The IEBC did indeed release its delayed smoke signal as promised but the real degree, nature and colour of the issued smoke signals are still being constested by those concerned.

So, should another round of smoke signals from a distance be reissued or not issued after the oath of office has been adminstered upon the leaders of the next adminstration, including the incoming bunch of debuting senators - a rare historic class in its own right -and the fresh and not so fresh faces who will be regular occupants of the refurbished parliament that now looks thirty times better than the old colonial dingy gathering place that once passed for the August 10th House?

  15. Wonder why Mh. Dr. Alfred Mutua of all people is crying foul given the kind of available office space as well as personal accommodations that the not so wealthy county of Machakos can afford him and his staff at the moment?

First of all, how comes the former politiccal aspirants now turned the elected county officials were not aware of the spartan conditions in which the mayor, deputy mayor, the town clerk and residents of Machakos area have been living in for last ten to fifty years?

All things considered, it is a known fact that Machakos County neighbours Nairobi County, a very wealthy and populated counterpart, but that has never made nor transformed the political and socioeconomic make-up of Machakos County into similar status as those of their very wealthy neighbouring county of Nairobi.

Hence, is one of the main reasons why county governments were introduced in the first place, so that, the political, economic and social conditions of the county residents may end up be transformed in the next five to ten years under the constructive leadership of newly elected county officials.

Mh. Dr. Alfred Mutua and others like him should have vied for the tough but very popular and lucrative seat in Nairobi County, if their sole political and personal aims were to be housed in accommodations that similar to the Sh430 million palatial mansion that has already been provided for the country's newly elected first deputy president (DP).

Let it be known that all the counties neighbouring Nairobi County will have to start from some where, down-up and up, before they can begin to reap their hard earned and well deserved fruits of upgraded and progressive development after a certain duration, which will not happen overnight, in a fortnight or in the next twenty months.

Mh. Dr. Alfred Mutua should humble himself, be wise enough and learn to experience the very types of hardship conditions his generous constituents have been toiling in and slugging through, day in and day out, for the last ten to fifty years and counting.

Lastly, the best advice for the newly elected bosses of various counties like Machakos, etcetera, would be the following - necessity is mother of all invention, but creativity is great, and ingenuity is greater for the common good.

The newly county governors should surround themselves with good A-Teams of selected county workers, then roll up their professional sleeves and get down to real work of shaping and developing their newly created counties, without ever waiting to waste valuable time by asking how much funding will come down regularly from the government based in Nairobi County.

On the other hand, let them never stop asking themselves how much revenue can and will be generated from their own respective counties once the proper political, economic and social foundations have been laid in the right places for the most good of the developing counties around the nation.

As for Mh. Dr. Alfred Mutua, his cry for lack of proper office space and accommodations befitting a county governor have been heard loud and clear, however, the ball is now in his court, but the report cards are in the hands of his generous constituents who are responsible for elevating him to the higher office of Machakos County.
