The Kikuyu question

The problem with blogging in Kenya today is that nobody will allow you to be horseless. So go ahead and brand me but the truth is that I do NOT support any of the two major coalitions. What tribe am I ? Honestly I have no tribe (the truth). My mum was Luhya, my dad was Kamba and I was born in Kisumu, my first born has Kikuyu blood flowing through her veins and can even speak the language fluently.

My personal political view on the presidency is that both Raila Odinga and Uhuru Kenyatta are NOT good for Kenya.

I don’t like Mary Wambui because I have a lot of privileged information on what she has been up to in the 10 years that her husband has been in power. BUT I will NOT support anybody who plays around with the will of the people and denies her, her nomination certificate to contest the general elections. We MUST respect the will of the people and I don’t care who you are, the rule applies.

Clearly we have a major problem in our hands as we go into the general elections in a few weeks. The people who suffered the most in the troubles of 2008 were our Kikuyu brothers and sisters indeed as you read this tens of thousands of them are still in camps, refugees in their own country. What can be sadder than that?

Still any criticism you level against Uhuru Kenyatta today is seen as an attack on the Kikuyu community. Why??? When Jomo Kenyatta grabbed large tracts of land what was written on the title deeds? The Kikuyu community?? Nope. The name on the them is Kenyatta. Why then is it seen as an attack on the Kikuyu when we talk about the evil Kenyatta committed when he was in office?

We often talk about Moi’s 24 year misrule. I don’t see my Kalenjin friends coming out red with rage and telling me that I am attacking the Kalenjin community? Why then is it different with the Kikuyu?

The answer is simple. President Kibaki’s presidential campaign in 2007 is the kind of campaign that must never be allowed in our shores ever again. And it seems that we are yet to shake off its’ effects. Public meetings addressed in Kiswahili but campaign managers going round later and speaking to the people in vernacular and telling them that it is a war against the other community. By the time we went into the elections it was a Kikuyu versus the rest of Kenya election. Why???? Why when the Kikuyu have suffered more than any other  community during Kibaki’s tenure? Why when we love our Kikuyu brothers and sisters and live peacefully on the ground with them and even marrying their beautiful lasses without any hassle? Why does it have to be different in politics?

In 1957 a Luo man called Tom Mboya beat a Kikuyu opponent called Munyua Waiyaki for the Nairobi area seat in the Legco. 95% of the voters were Kikuyus. Those days most locals were illiterate or with very poor educational backgrounds if any. Why then should we have a problem in 2013 when we have very educated Kenyans? Have we grown more stupid and tribal with more education?

We urgently need to find a way to ensure that any criticism against Uhuru Kenyatta is NOT seen as an attack on the Kikuyu community. He is an individual seeking high office and we need to interrogate him, we are not interrogating the community he happens to belong to.

Will Sakaja’s inexperience cost TNA the presidency?

  1. I have spent a lot of time on this blog today.

for me one thing has come out clearly. Most of the readers here do not understand siasa. Siasa is not winning an argument or winning a mchongoano session.

It is simply a battle of perceptions and Sakaja has damaged the perception surrounding his presidential candidate. The rest does not matter and is simply hot air.

    Oh dear!

There is a VAST difference between personal/family relationships and politics.

So, if you want to find out why, then, study what is politics for without a clear understanding of this term in its REALITY, as opposed to the POPULAR DELUSIONS, ILLUSIONS and CHILDISH FANTASIES, one will wonder until Kingdom comes.

In Kikuyu, they say this and we try to translate:

When birds are falling to eat, they fall together. However, when it comes to leaving/flying away, each leaves on its own time.

If you understand that wise saying, then, your question is answered.

With that, we are off to enjoy:

  3. Chris had done it again...He posted on Wambui, then Kenyatta, Now again this one has Kenyatta mentioned 12 times while Kikuyu's it purports to discuss are mentioned only 6 times...the trend is obvious.

Chris of Kumekucha has been compromised to mudsling TNA and its flag bearer by CORD.
Notice that the CORD nomination debacle especially what CORD did to Ongoro in Nairobi and the democratic winners in Kisii and Kisumu counties is still being swept under a carpet.
Chris you can fool some people all the time but not all the people all the time. You have been smoked out. Take the FORA cheque and run!!

  4. Chris,

Please UK alone. Jomo grabbed and the title deed bares his name. But Uhuru Muigai WORKED HARD for all his money.

Jomo died 35 years ago and Uhuru is not the governor of Kenya's 9th province.

Stop being jealous of UK's wealth:

GET RICH OR DIE TRYING (dope your blood if you are made of wrong T/DNA).

  5. As a kikuyu I am amazed to see the support of UK. We all know about JK and the lands he stole, the pipo he killed and detained. And we also know how he betrayed KLFA letting the white land grabbers stay pretty in 1964 while KLFA has shed blood and tears in the forest. Those who say UK worked hard. He didn't work for * all he did was inherit the stolen wealth of the father.

I think the way to dissuade UK support and not from the Kikuyu only but all Kenyans who might be leaning hisway is the same way UK himself had been dissuaded from running by shetani. Having an ICC suspect as prezzo is bad for your own personal economic well being. utasuffer and watoto wako watasuffer.

  7. The Kikuyu question? my is why do Kikuyu only vote for a Kikuyu.
why did do Kikuyu own more property and business than any other Kenyan tribe. Why was the election stolen a Kikuyu president in 2007.Why is the first president of Kenya a Kikuyu.why is the richest Kenyan a Kikuyu.we have 41 tribes in Kenya why thus the odd seem to favor only Kikuyu.

  8. JUKWAA WAR!! I FOUND THIS POSTED ON NIPATE.. GOOD GRIEF :):) OLOO (JUKWAA) ADMINISTRATOR IS INDEED A SHADY CHARACTER!

    MimoIka » Fri Jan 25, 2013 11:24 am
Here is the sequence from the last emails exchanges between Oloo ( Jukwaa administrator) and Reporter911

Dear Reporter 911 and Kenya contact..

I need to clarify one or two things.

    1. ( Reporter911) entrusted with an assignment which is very straight forward: do a name search and register a company (actually two companies). This she did after I, Onyango Oloo had assured her that I was equal to the task and that I had good contacts who could facilitate that process in an expeditious manner.
    2. Based on those assurances Reporter911 transferred some money to me via the Moneygram service. That amount totalled 17,000 (broken down in a detailed email Reporter911 sent me when she was remitting details of the transfer).
    3. I then approached my contact and fronted him the advance plus the fees as we had agreed.
    4. I subsequently fell very sick, during which time I assumed that my contact was doing his job. I had already done the name search successfully for the first company.
    5. When I subsequently followed up I discovered to my shock and horror that the man had not only done NOTHING, he had squandered the funds advanced to him.
    6. In the meantime, these delays put Reporter911in a very embarrassing situation with her professional partners, made worse by her frustrations in reaching via phone or email.
    7. Subsequently Reporter911 told me to halt the entire process, hand over the documents and provide a full refund of the 17,000 shillings to Ms. Kenya contact.
    8. I had a very difficult time tracking my contact and getting him to hand back the documents I had given him as well refunding the funds I had given him.
    9. That is what obtains up to this time I am writing this email at 12:30 pm Saturday, June 23, 2012.
    10. I have endeavoured to raise the whole amount (of course it needs to be added that Reporter911 had included some sums meant for me as well) from my own sources. Unfortunately given my work as a consultant, some of fees due to me from some clients has not yet come in. I am even going the extra mile to try and borrow these funds from family and friends so that I can discharge this debt.

    11. That is currently my sole preoccupation.

    12. I therefore urge both of you to please bear with me. I am NOT a conman. Reporter911 knows that I have a very high profile in certain Kenyan circles which would preclude risking my hard earned reputation garnered over more than two decades over this issue of 17,000. Reporter911 further knows that I have a history with her own family that dates back to 1981.
    13. I want to assure you that like I said, as soon as I receive those funds I will remit them directly to KENYA CONTACT for onward transmission to REPORTER911 and her professional colleagues. My fear and worry is not about annoying some Canadian partners. My fear and worry is LIVING WITH MYSELF if I let either of you down. $ 200 Canadian is not a substantial amount. It is just that the realities of the Kenyan economy is such that recovering such a small sum may sometimes prove TEMPORARILY challenging.

    14. Let me try and utmost to raise this money in the shortest time possible Given other past deadlines, I do not want to end up looking like a liar by pledging a certain fixed time in the next 24 or 48 hours. I may get the funds in the next few hours- or it may take several days. The point of the matter is that I have put down a WRITTEN COMMITMENT to do so. Please allow me the chance of coming through with this pledge. If some of your phone calls have gone unanswered it has more to do with the fact that I have been very frustrated and flustered chasing down this slippery person rather than any desire to evade your calls.

    Sincerely,

    Onyango Oloo
