Bwana Kibaki Please Give Us Back What We Gave You… Roho Safi

I can remember 2002 as if it were just yesterday. The celebrations going on in Nairobi at Uhuru Park as some Kenyans pelted the then President Moi with mud. We just couldn’t wait for Mzee Moi to get the hell out of State House and out of our lives. Oh boy if only we knew then what we know now. Many of us have very deep regrets and if Moi stood for presidency again today we would vote him in again without hesitation. But all that is water under the bridge now, I need to stay on topic here.

We Kenyans handed over the presidency of the republic of Kenya to somebody we thought we could trust. A man who had come to us humbly with his hat in his hand and requested us for the presidency of Kenya. He told us all in broad daylight that he was a one term president. ONE TERM!!! We liked that and it was one of the things that convinced us to vote for him with all our hearts because we were already very tired about people thinking that the presidency of Kenya was some personal property or some kind of royal throne where you have to either die in office or get forcibly removed somehow. We liked this man Kibaki who said five years were enough for him. In those days we were not yet pumbavus nor were we mavi ya kuku… at least not yet. We were still wananchi watukufu.

Now fast forward to 2012 and Kenyans are very concerned. Have you noticed how every time it is time for President Kibaki to leave tension rises considerably in the country and people begin to die? Let’s cast our minds back to 2007. Many of us cast a protest vote against Mr Kibaki for amongst other things breaking his promise to us to be a one tern president. What happened? He refused to leave and used the very powers we had given him to cling to power. But what was probably a lot worse was the fact that so many innocent Kenyans had to die. He was the president. He had power to save lives. To make quick decisions that would have spared precious Kenyan lives. He chose not to. In fact if truth be told we can scarcely recognize the man sitting in State house right now. What happened to that humble one term president we elected?

Still, of much more concern is what is happening in our country today. President Kibaki should have left in August according to what is written in black and white in the new constitution. The one he swore in front of us to defend. He had the power to ensure that elections were held on schedule in August. Instead there is plenty of evidence that people close to him threw some spanner in the works and indeed they are still doing so because we rapidly heading to November and there is no sign of Kibaki leaving State house any time soon. Oh yes we have heard all those people he has sent to us to tell us that he had no intention of overstaying his welcome and will leave office, but how shall we believe that from the same man who told us he would be a one term president. From the man who said corruption would be a thing of the past. And more recently from the president who has forcibly tried to push through his own people (not once but several times) to key positions in total contravention of the constitution? Surely Kenyans have a right never again to believe what his Excellency says.

More worrying is that the same trend we saw in 2007 is repeating itself before our very eyes with a vengeance. Until now we have been fairly peaceful but now it is time again for President Kibaki to leave and all of a sudden there is lots of tension in the country and plenty of violence and flair ups all over the place. Is it a coincident? I don’t think so. The stories and information I am receiving bares me out.

I have a very simple humble request to our president on behalf of Kenyans. Please please, give us back what we gave you roho safi. We have nothing to do with whatever personal problems you may be having with the ICC, heck we were in fact victims of the decisions you took in 2007 and 2008 and we are yet to even heal. So please, don’t involve us. Just leave in peace without any more delays. Let the violence and flair ups stop. Even if your people are not involved you have the power to stop it don’t you? You showed us that power when you suddenly sent troops to Somalia to secure our borders (one of the best decisions you have ever made according to me) can a little thing like some tribal disturbances elude you and the formidable security apparatus in Kenya? I think not.

I have used great restrain in writing this post. I don’t think I have been abusive or even punched under the belt. I have not repeated the unprintable things those who voted for you are saying out there. I have been a gentleman. Roho safi please give the country back and retire earliest in peace.

Thank you.

P.S. I am aware of the vast resources being spent to spy on ordinary harmless Kenyans like myself and I would suggest that this is a good time to shift attention and resources away from pumbavus and mavi ya kukus to where they are badly needed. I am a patriotic Kenyan who only wants the best for my country. I am not alone, there are so many others. I hear them every day complain about the corruption and troubles in this country.

  1. First, we expect Chris to know a bit of Kenyan RECENT history.

A few months AFTER INDEPENDENCE, so called, Kibaki circulated within the RULING OLIGARCHY a paper where he INQUIRED:

"Will the elite which has INHERITED POWER from the colonialists use that power to bring about the necessary social and economic changes or will they succumb to the lure of WEALTH, COMFORT and STATUS and thereby become part of the OLD ESTABLISHMENT?"

History has given a clear verdict on that INQUIRY by Kibaki.

Well, when a whole nation descends into ILLUSIONS, DELUSION and CHILDISH FANTASIES, this is how the people behave.

The delusion was to think that, Moi was the problem. No, he wasn't.

Now, the DELUSION is that Kibaki is the problem. We SHALL SEE soon.

Kwani, was Kibaki HUMBLE than Augustus Caesar? We have showed you above how HUMBLE HE WAS IN 1963.

Yes, humble Augustus did bring in peace. In other words, that peace of disasters and assassinations.

  2. Bwana Mwarang'ethe,

Your debating style of abusive prose is exactly the way uncouth Matatu touts debate in Kenyan matatus every day, whilst picking their noses and scratching (you know where) in full view of our children commuting to school. I should probably get one of them to come here and debate with you the nly way you know how. This kind of behaviour hardly reflects even University of Gikomba let alone the big intellectual ideas and fantasies you float in this blog. I have been patient with you for a very long time but you have finally gotten to me and I needed to get that out of my chest. After all I am only human.

I have never seen a human being try so hard to show that he is something else when his very style and way of doing things clearly betray him for who he really is.

I would love to debate with you but I am way too cultured to be abusive to express my points.

Good luck spreading your ideas using your current style.

  3. Chris,

Breath in, out, in and out again. Now that you have calmed down and imbibed into e-wisdom from the singular source if unadulterated intellect you should stop posting gabbage and start quoting Sumarian folklore for debate.

Now that I have unsucessfully tried to e-beat you back to Kibaki. Kibaki never promised one term may be inside you head.

It is that silly season with silly murders. You only gave back Kenya it its owners and you remain a tenant at their mercy.

Here is the truth: you lack the two basic ingredients to speak to Kibaki:

    1) Pedigree

    2) DNA.

    Hebu wacha zako wewe Chris!

At the University of Gikomba, they educate us to DECODE the HYPOCRISY and DOUBLE SPEAK of the CULTURED CLASS, which graduates from the ILF Universities. We are happy to know you are a member of this class.

As an example, when the members of the CULTURED/HYPOCRITICAL CLASS say wanainchi watukufu, we, the UNCOUTH, decode that to mean stupid Sheeple. Is it not so in REALITY?

When the CULTURED CLASS talk about democracy in Africa today, we decode the same as a Trojan Horse in Africa. Is it not so in REALITY?

When the CULTURED CLASS tell us about elections, we decode the same as the OPIUM of the masses. In other words, there will be good times AFTER the NEXT elections, after the next....

When the CULTURED CLASS tell us that, Moi, Kibaki, Raila, Zuma etc is the problem, we decode that as a LIE to believed by DELUSIONAL minds.

When the CULTURED CLASS tell us about the new Constitution, we decode that as a Constitutional FICTION and an ABSURDITY. Haven't we be vindicated in the fullness of time?

What is abusive about such TRUTH?
    Nothing.

Learn to handle the TRUTH brother and confront your REAL ENEMY which is IGNORANCE about the NATURE OF THINGS/REALITY and not Kibaki, Raila, Uhuru or Moi!

  10. We just couldn't wait for Mzee ... to get the hell out the State House and out of our lives (political living rooms, bedrooms, kitchens and backyards).
    LOL!!!!!!!

Why do we, the people, always ignore one of the oldest cliché in the book of life as we have come to know it, that four in every five second marriages never work because they always eventually end up in acrimonious divorce.
    ______________________________________________________________________

We, the people, should expect nothing back from the old man Mwai Kibaki who has been under the tight supervision and handling courtesy of his infamous henchmen that have already planned and continue to strategize on how they will continue eating together in the next five to ten years.

The old man Mwai Kibaki has been out of touch with the common people, and out of commission for a long time, when it comes to the daily management of the country and its vital institutions in Nairobi and around country.

While it has been his trusted henchmen and infamous personal 'fixers' who have had an upper hand with regard to what is or not allowed to take place in the country, regardless of whether its done in public or behind the scenes, for they own the whole country, which has been their personal playground since 2002.
    ______________________________________________________________________

We, the people, are the ones who have allowed ourselves to be pimped around by our regional and tribal political pimps, as they continue to cheaply trade our respective communities to various murky political bordellos (parties) since 2002, 2007, and including the current pimping situation galore in 2012, heading into April of 2013.
    ______________________________________________________________________

We, the people, are so benumbed to the point where where the tribal political pimps have us eating out of their pimpy hands to the point where they can now toy with us and discard us at will once they done with us after April, 2013.

Yet, very few among us have the intelligence, let alone the courage and what have you, to try and ask ourselves why whole communities of rational people from all walkas of life are fully engaged in politically prostituting themselves under the direct commands of our respective tribal political pimps in their endless political bordello (party) hopping from one campaign frying pan to a more messy and over crowed campaign frying pan.

Or worse, from one very oily, smelly, and real dirty tribal political frying pan into the tribal political coalition flaming campaign fires.
    ______________________________________________________________________

So, the likes of old man Mwai Kibaki, the son of Odinga, the son of Kenyatta, son of Mudavadi, former errand boys (in-house nyaparas and handymen) like Kalonzo Musyoka, William Ruto, et al, know how cheap, delusional and very desperate their respective regional and tribal political pawns, commodities, prostitutes, foot soldiers have become and what we are ready to do so that our respective tribal political pimps can win the general election and occupy the high table and kitchen seats in the country's main bordello on the hill.

And continue to use, abuse and waste us, the people, as they pit one tribal community against another in the name of wala kabila adui or under the pretext that our people are being finished, or our whole region have been historically marginalized since December, 1963, therefor blah, blah, blah, blah ... .
    ______________________________________________________________________
Yet all the tribal political pimps want above all else is another five to ten years of eating togother as they loot the country's coffers every which way.

    ReplyDelete
  11. Chris,

Many of us have forgotten to count our blessings now that we know what we know after the political debacle of December 2007.

The country's political, soial and economic situations could have been in a far worse condition than the current bad situation that Kenyans have experienced since December 2002.

Mwai Kibaki turned out to be the lesser of the two evils that were vying for the presidency in December 2007, if what was unmasked or peeled back a former aid is anything to go by.

A nation that forgets its - sordid - hsitory is bound to ...?

So, let the people carefully weigh their options and alternatives before April of 2013, rather than wate a lot of precious time getting caught up in the frenzy of impatiently waiting for Mzee Mwai Kibaki to get the hell out of the State House and out of our lives.

Only to end up with a very wrong person or leader like Mwai Kibaki being elevated to the State House, plus another ten years - 2013-2022 - of the same old same old political business as usual and house of parliament full of the lords of impunity and lords brimming corruption.

There are thousands if not millions of Kenyans who celebrated the overdue departure of the former president from the State House, but never lived to see any changes, let alone enjoy the last ten years.

While there are thousands and if not millions among us, who will not live to see any major changes once the current president has exited the State House and is no longer part and parcel of our public as well as private lives by the time 2017 and 2022 come around the corner.

So, what do the majority of the Kenyan people really want in 2013 and beyond?

Do the Kenyan people want a fourth political marriage in order to prove to the rest of the world (as if it ever cares at all in this day and age) that the last one - third marriage - was wrong for Ms. Kenya with her well known wondering tribal political eye and insatious appetite for impunity and corruption, including last minute incestious tribal political coalitions?

By the way, do you know how that project crippled our economy? Instead of looking for the Milk market, someone just threw it back to the kids of the farmers who produced it?
Under Moi regime, the country economy was in ICU ready for the angel of death to claim it. The farming industry was nipped not at its apec but all the branches were cut. Look at where we are now?

On the other hand, why should any one in their right mind "focus more on ensuring we build systems" like Pyramids of Giza and Pryramid of Nubia that would "outlast inviduals like" the tribal political pharaohs of Kenya? Why even bother trying to reinvent the wheel that has failed 89% of Kenyans in the last fourty-nine years?

The really cursed are the people who still believe and trust in a god or gods conceived in human minds, then crafted by ancient human hands that once belonged to temple priests, authors of major religious books, theologians, and heavily armed guardians of the man-made religions.
The cursed are people who still believe and worship gods that cannot see, hear, smell, talk or come to the immediate aid of their own beloved creations.
Man-made gods that are confined to various temples and worshipped at certain hours of the day or specific hours during one day of the week.
Idol worshippers are the cursed collective lot of the earth for they have no slightest clue nor can they fathom who the real Creator of the Universe is.

Do the IDPs from 2007 post-election violence and 2012 Tana River Delta violence deserve to take their bitter medicine due to the choices they made of settling in their former homelands?

Over 2,569 Kenyans have died in road accidents since January of 2012. Do they (the dead and their surviving families) deserve to swallow their bitter medicine just because of the choices they made by traveling in the matatus, buses, PSVs and private vehicles that were involved in the deadly?

    What about:

    a) Cancer victims, talking of Kenyan children, young adults, women, men and elderly who die every year from cancer related complications due to poor choice made by their government by failing of putting proper medical facilities and screening procedures in various places all over the country?

    b) Ordinary Kenyans who unknowingly purchase counterfeit medications, toothpaste, contraceptives, condoms, and other beauty products for personal use yet end up having their health compromised and quality of life adversely affected?

    c) Millions of Kenyan students who have no hope of access to basic school structures, proper teaching staff, nutrition and conduicive family environment?

    e) Millions and millions of Kenyans who live at the mercy of marauding gangs without having any level of protection form their regional adminstrations and government?

Do they all deserve to take the bitter medicine for the choices they seem to have made or were made for them at one point or another due to circumstances beyond their control?

When all is said and done, Kenyans living in the affected areas have the right and deserve to know why their government has remained neglectful for decades.

Kenyans, like the Americans suffer from IGNORANCE induced disease called EXCEPTIONALISM.

If you listen to the Americans, including some of its best minds, they kind of see America as immune from the common "diseases" of mankind.

Likewise, anyone who grew up in Kenya in the 70/80's, must have heard of this nonsensical phrase:

    - Kenya is an island of peace surrounded by warring nations.

In other words, Kenyans were being brainwashed to think themselves special as opposed to the STUPID Somalis, Sudanese, Congolese who "love" to kill each other.

From from this Kenyan EXCEPTIONALISM, the recent violent incidents have come as a shock.

If Kenyans did not suffer from this disease, they would have investigated why these surrounding nations "loved" to kill each other and thereby, PROFIT from them.

However, since Somalis are just silly, why bother?

As such, let us leave this ISLAND of PEACE and travel to South Africa which is DEMOCRATIC, as we hear from the CULTURED class.

If this DEMOCRATIC RAINBOW nation is such, why are we having these kind of statistics?

"The income of white South African households is six times higher than black ones, new census figures reveal.

The average annual income of a white household is about 365,000 rand ($42,000; £26,000), followed by Indians at 251,000 rand, people of mixed race at 251,500 rand and blacks at 60,600 rand, it showed."

In other words, should you want to answer all the questions you have asked, crack the SA "code."

NB: Please, do not use words like Zuma, corruption, fraud in your cracking of the SA enigma.

Meanwhile, it seems like the CULTURED CLASS, has woken to some UGLY REALITY:

"On the issue of biometric equipment from Canada, we were badly duped."

I am a LITTLE [OH!] apprehensive about the manner in which the so-called government-to-government deal under which we are buying the technology we shall use to register voters was negotiated and concluded."

For us, in our USUAL ABUSIVE language, we described from DAY one this STUPIDITY as:

    - OPERATION FEED the over fed Canadian and French KIDS as we STARVE KENYAN KIDS.

Were we wrong or ABUSIVELY right?

  28. Kenya's warped brand of exceptionalism drove many egomaniacs bloated with misplaced patriotism into believing that they were far much better, well informed, highly educated, better looking, spoke fluent English (LOL!!!) and had a higher standard of living than their neighbours on the southern, western and northern borders of the country. Unfortunately, many of them still hold the same view in 2012, although times and circumstances have changed and the reality reflects otherwise.

  31. With all due respect to our former compatriots, thee Kenyan-Americans, their adopted nation and its esteemed people, their version of exceptionalism is said to have some how 'crossed muddy waters of America's long history of cultural ignorance and racial hatred', that has become so pronounced as the nation braces itself for the looming presidential elections in November of 2012.

Many outsiders around the globe are always left wondering why the current president, ... ..., has always been viewed as a black person and in worst of cases as "that son of a ... and a ... African instead of a half-white guy or half-black guy at the White House.

The long history of cultural ignorance and racial hatred have become so evident and pronounced during the current presidential race to the point where many from a certain political camp now view Mint Ramoney the billionaire as their only saviour and redeemer in a technological age where some groups of American people still clamour for ordinary manufacturing jobs that most American corporations have opted to ship out to China, India, Mexico, South America and Central America due to a variety of obvious economic reasons.

In the tradition of giving credit where it is due, the brighter side of the American exceptionalism can be found in the number of high schools, colleges, and universities, paved roads, local and international airports, ultra-modern hospitals, food security and distribution, basic security for all American citizens, employment for those with necessary skills, competent political leadership at the county, state and national level, thriving business climate, a real pride among patriots, etc.

It is a real far cry from the days when American born citizens like James Meredith had to withstand several years of a daily barrage of racial slurs, taunting and hatred from thousands of fellow students at the University of Mississippi, better known as Ole Miss by students and local residents of Oxford.

You mean like that EXCEPTIONALISM, NATIONALISM and PRIDE of the CHIEF PRIESTS of a DELUDED nation?

    Sample this:

We do not know what the CULTURED CLASS makes of this, but, on our part, as usual, in our ABUSIVE approach, we see this an OPERATION FEED the OVER FED GERMAN KIDS as WE STARVE KENYAN KIDS!

"Judiciary buys 40 luxury fuel guzzlers for judges."

"The Judiciary has bought 40 new Mercedes Benz limousines for judges appointed since January, barely two years after the government banned the purchase of luxury fuel-guzzlers for public servants."

As a result of this OPERATION, we are told, by the CULTURED CLASS that:

"As a result of the Judiciary order, sales grew by 33.7 per cent within nine months, making Mercedes Benz the highest selling luxury vehicle in the country ahead of other top of the range models such as BMW."

As above, if the CULTURED EDITORS of this newspaper STUDIED at the Gikomba University, they would have used words like:

OPERATION FEED GERMANS LAUNCHED by the CHIEF INJUSTICE of a DELUDED NATION!

  33. If anything, there time is right for pre-independence politicians from all walks of life deserve to take a final bow and exit all political stages in the country.

As for Kibaki, his cronies, henchmen, business juggernauts, political bottom feeders and underlings, they also owe the rest of the country a clean and final exit out of the State House, institutions of power and positions of influence by April of 2013.

Everything has its time and everything must end, including political adminstrations whose time has come and gone.

  36. The buck stops with Kibaki and his sidekick Odinga for they are the only monarchs who are now respeonsible for giving back to us, the people, the political goodwill that was granted to them in December of 2002.

During a time when the whole country had a golden political opportunity of changing its future course for the better.

It was also a historic moment when 87% of Kenya's population had been duped into believing that everything was and would be possible without the former despotic leader and his regime being in power and control of the country and lives of the citizenry.

Fast forward to 2012, and sadly people are no longer shocked nor surprised to find that out that very little has changed and zero reforms have taken place other than the usual political comestic changes, economic facades and social gimmicks that pass for national improvements and ethnic cohesion.

As a matter of fact, one of the old political timers is fond of referring to the citizenry as pumbavus and chicken poop, since he does not give a hoot of any consequences or repercussions.

All he knows is that we, the people, were desperate (damn) enough to have allowed him - a former KANU insider - to takve over the reins of power against all odds at a time when the winds of change could have to helped lead the country in a complete new and better direction.

While his counterpart has always considered the rest of public as 'mere spectators' (masabik wa kandanda) in his football - fantasy soccer - riddles and proverbs where he sees himself as the only leading player who reins supreme due to his exceptional goal scoring skills.

The kindly feelings of political approval and nation wide strong support that Kibaki and Odinga had once enjoyed have fizzled to a great low as a result of squandered opportunities and excessive looting of untold national resources in the last ten years.

The only difference between the current political leadership and the previous despotic leadership is one of direct and indirect robbery and looting of the government coffers with impunity.

Study what happened after the American Civil War in 1865 until 1880's.

That period was the GOLDEN AGE of the African Americans.

Thereafter, in REACTION, there followed a DARK AGE led by the KKK until the Civil Rights movements of 1950 and 60's.

Do you have any reasons to believe this present HONEY MOON will not be followed by another DARK AGE?

Ignore lessons of history at your own peril!

That is another of the EXCEPTIONALISM cruel myth.

Do not be misled by what you SEE in YOUR AGE!

    Let us inquire:

When Arab scholars were writing these words, some Centuries back, where was these colleges in the USA?

"The scholars of Timbuctoo yielded in nothing to the saints and their sojourns in the FOREIGN universities of Fez, Tunis and Cairo. They ASTOUNDED the MOST LEARNED MEN of Islam by their erudition. That these NEGROES (an INSULT) were on a level with the Arabian savants is proved by the fact that they were INSTALLED as PROFESSORS in Morocco and Egypt. In contrast to this, we find that the Arabs were not always equal to the requirements of UNIVERSITY of SANKORE."

Didn't Athenians pride themselves as the TEACHERS of the Greeks?

Didn't they say all foreigners were BARBARIAN? Didn't they succumb to the same BARBARIANS and became SLAVE TEACHERS to these BARBARIANS?

    Ironies of history!

Lest you forget this PROPHECY by Darwin:

    In the COMING FUTURE:

"the average skin color of the human race will get darker and, furthermore, ECONOMIC and MILITARY POWER in Africa and Asia will wrest the leadership from Europe.”

So, the African Teachers are not worried by these FLEETING ILLUSIONS.

It is so, for they have "seen" many EXCEPTIONALISM ILLUSIONS in MANY nations and DIVERSE Ages.

With that, it is time for some nice music:

    It is MSILANOITPECXE in Kipsigis.

While American exceptionalism has always been fueled by a steady flow of fresh blood in the form of innovative immigrants who often make the best entrepreneurs that lend a fresh perspective to the American economy as well as world economy.

Innovative immigrants are always a big loss to their former homelands or countries of origin unlike the other regular bulk of skilled immigrants ('corporate draft horses') and unskilled immigrants ('mules that operate from behind-the-scenes') who normally immigrate to America in pursuit of the mighty dollar under the guise of seeking a better life.

Some of whom only end up engaging in a long held immigrant's ritual of a three to four weeks vacation to their homelands - in the name of look at me now! - every summer or end year, or every two, three or four years for those immigrants who are able to afford the opportunity.

Regulated immigration has always been the mother lode of American innovation that helps keep American brand of exceptionalism afloat since the establishment of the Plymouth Colony in the early 1600s.

Societies or nations that do not allow any type of immigration - fresh blood - within its rank and file, always end up in gradual stagnation and consequent decay from within.

Another of those cruel EXCEPTIONALISM myth about America.

If it is immigration people with business acumen, we find in Rome in her three major ports: Ostia, Portus and Aventine these IMMIGRANTS who were entrepreneurs:

    - There were business men with wines and fruits of Italy,

    - there were business men with the corn of Egypt/Africa,

    - there was oil brought from Spain,

    - there were business men from Gaul carrying and selling the venison, timber and wool,

    - we find business men from Baetica with meat,

    - we find dates from the desert oases,

    - we find marbles brought from Tuscany, Greece an Numidia,

    - we find Arab business men with their porphyries,

    - we find business from Iberian peninsula with lead, silver and copper,

    - we find ivory merchants from Mauritania and Sytes,

We can go on and on and show you that, immigration of business men/women is not an American EXCEPTIONALISM.

    We have SEEN IT BEFORE!

So, you are lying to yourself and others who are IGNORANT!
