Why the next president of Kenya MUST Be a Mini Skirt Wearer

It is deadly to be a poor judge of character. It can cost you your life and more.
-----------------------------------------------------------------------------
Quick IQ quiz for men only: What is the first thing you see when you look at the photo above?

a) Nice thighs
b) Nice hair
c) how can I ... with this woman?
d) Her eyes look dodgy
(see correct answer at the bottom of this post)

-----------------------------------------------------------

There was this very wealthy man who had a loving faithful wife who had been with him from the days he was a very poor man. As is usual with men of such means a lass somewhere in the sea of poverty that surrounded him decided that she was fed up with life in the lowest ranks of life. Once her mind was made up she quickly worked her way into the man’s life. Her main weapon was flattery amongst a host of other carefully selected tools. It helped that she was a seasonal prostitute operating in Mombasa; whenever a big ship with free-spending American sailors docked, she would receive a call on her cell phone to rush to the Coast. She soon made the balding ugly Sonko of a man who believed he was very bright, believe that he was the most handsome man alive. When she gave her favours she made him believe that he was the most skilled lover the world had known.

Naturally the rich man started despising his wife. How come she did not see how good-looking he still was? How come she did not make the bedroom noises this other young lass made?

And of course the gold digger did not miss a trick. Snaring a man is kindergarten stuff if you know how, men are visual animals. Wear short skirts and sometimes sit carelessly pleading innocence (you don’t even have to have nice legs). Show a lot of cleavage and laugh a lot. And whatever happens don’t dare fart.

Well… wife number one had no chance.

The inevitable quickly happen. The “clever” rich man married a second wife and abandoned and frustrated his first wife. The one who truly loved him for who he really was and NOT what he had. This sad story can have many varying endings, none of them a good one for the snared man.

This kind of thing happens all the time. As you read this one Samuel Gichuru former all-powerful managing director of KPLC can identify with this story mainly because it is woman-trouble that attracted the attention of international investigators to his alleged criminal activities. How many poor-judge of-character powerful men have been made short work of by women?

Admittedly few men are good judges of human character. Women tend to do a better job when it comes to reading the motives of others (except when romance blinds them into terrible and tragic mistakes that they regret their entire lives).

Kenyan voters have consistently been pretty poor judges of human character. Some would say that the vast majority of voters have always been blinded by Kenya shillings notes floating across their valley of decision when it comes to where to place a tick on the ballot paper. I don’t agree entirely. I believe that the much greater weakness here has been failing to see people for who they really are.

I will give you just one example. There is a man called Mutula Kilonzo. The current minister of justice is rapidly emerging as one of the voices of reason and major crusaders against corruption in high places. Now that is pretty laughable when you know the real Mutula Kilonzo. A man who made billions of shillings serving the most corrupt in high places. It is said that the money and power went into the man’s head and today his house off the Machakos road has it’s very own in-house animal orphanage. I can picture Bwana Mutula feeding his lions (like those mafia dons do in movies) as he plots his next move on the political chess board of unsuspecting Kenyans.

Word on the street is that Mutula Kilonzo will be a presidential candidate in 2012 (which will upset wiper but so what?). If you read the dark secrets of past presidents of Kenya you will cringe at the mere suggestion of such a thing. For this reason may the next president of Kenya spot a stud please or if it will be madam president let her wear mini skirts always. It is not the earing or the thighs that depict true character is it?

Answer to the IQ quiz above:
1. If you chose "A" your IQ is lower that that of an idiot
2. If you chose "B" you are a genius
3. If you chose "C" you are a typical male kenyan man (not very clever when you see a woman's thighs)
4. If you chose "D" you must be Albert Einsten himself... a university professor somewhere maybe? ... a genius no less, research shows that there cannot be more than 20 people like you in the whole of Kenya. Kumekucha readers are eager to meet a genius like you, please send your photo and profile for publication here. WELL DONE!! You are a rare and virtually extinct breed.

China Shocker: Workers Build 15 Storey Hotel in 6 Days

Imagine leaving for Mombasa for a brief business trip of about 6 days and then when you come back to your house in Nairobi you get lost completely. The reason being that a 15 storey building that you did not leave there has seemingly dropped from the skies.

This is exactly what happened to some poor chaps in a neighborhood in the south-central Chinese city of Changsha when workers recently completed a magnificent 6-story building in 6 short days. YES!!! 6 DAYS.
The work crew erected the new Ark Hotel (pictured above) —a soundproofed, thermal-insulated structure reportedly built to withstand a magnitude 9 earthquake—with prefabricated materials. A crew of off-site factory workers built the sections, and their on-site counterparts arranged them on the foundation for the Ark project. Read more.

And that is not all. Like in all prefabricated buildings there was very little wastage of material. It was also reported that there wasn’t a single injury during construction. Those in the construction industry will tell you that high-rise buildings in Kenya routinely claim a few lives by the time they are completed.

I hope Kumekucha readers are able to appreciate the implications of this kind of speed in a construction project. Speed can revolutionize any venture. Imagine if you could make the kind of money you make in a year in only 6 days!!!! It means without doubt that China has to be a serious contender for the leading super power in the world today even as people continue to make fun of the quality of Chinese goods without realizing that a vast majority of the things they use on a daily basis are of Chinese origin. By the way incase you are not aware most parts inside the computer you are using to read this are from China. It doesn’t matter whether you are using a laptop or a PC. The same applies if you are using a cell phone or Blackberry.

Most people don’t know that before Japan became such a respected name in quality manufacturing there was a time everybody laughed at their poor quality. It seems that that is a phase that the Chinese have recently crossed.

I happened to know of some local entrepreneurs who are using Chinese prefabs in the Kenyan construction industry to their advantage. Imagine being able to put up buildings much faster than usual. It would have tremendous implications on cash flow and the financials in general.

Hot tip from Kumekucha: I will be giving regular useful tips in this blog starting with this red hot one. Did you know that even as you read this there are some Kenyans based in Nairobi quietly making money from all over the world (to the tune of $5000 and more every month without fail). This is their secret. Do your own research if you don't believe me.

This “Bamba” Monster Called Safaricom

If you will read this post in the morning (Kenyan time) you will be taking it in even as a meeting will be going on between CCK Director General Charles Njoroge and chief executives of all the mobile phone operators in the country. The main item on the agenda is the thorny mobile number portability (MNP) service.

There is nothing new under the sun and to really understand the issues at hand it is important to understand the monster called Safaricom created by you and me and millions of other Kenyans.
Those Kenyans who know who this man is will better understand what is going on in the Safaricon versus Airtel wars.

What would you feel if you single-handedly created the cell phone industry in Kenya? Actually that is exactly what Michael Joseph’s Safaricom did. When he took over the reigns at Safaricom the mobile phone operator had one base station and one would-be competitor (Kencell, today’s Airtel) run by a sleepy CEO who did not believe that there was any serious market for cell phones outside Muthaiga and its’ environs. In those days it cost about Kshs 250,000 to own a cell phone and subscribers were also charged for calls received. This was happening when vegetable sellers in neighbouring Tanzania were already using cell phones.

Mr Joseph with very little knowledge on Kenya and Kenyans headed straight for the Kibera slums where he started his talks to the curious poverty stricken Kiberians with phrases like “This is a cell phone.” To date Joseph has not told Kenyans the fact that his advertising agencies and so called “marketing experts on Kenya” laughed at him in his face and told him he was crazy and what he was trying to do would never work. Anyway at about the same time the Kencell MD (who was making much more sense to local marketing experts) was addressing Kenyans through press conferences on the then debate about per second versus per minute billing for calls with phrases like: “It is much cheaper to buy a bottle of wine at a restaurant rather than a glass at a time.” Most of his audience had never been to a smart restaurant in their entire lives and would never EVER hope to come anywhere near one unless they were doing the cooking or guarding the cars outside. So they would never understand what the hell he was saying in a hundred years. The ones who understood did not care less about what they were being charged for their calls. Indeed some of them were pretty upset that the price for a mobile phone was rapidly dropping from the status symbol pricing of Kshs 250,000. Did you hear the story about the man in Karen who when driving past one day angrily threw his cell phone in the bush on seeing a night watchman using one as he walked to work?

Anyway you all know how that business fairy tale ended. Today Safaricom is a multi-billion shilling company, by far the most profitable enterprise in history in East and Central Africa and well beyond. Kencell has basically been struggling and has changed hands several times.

With this kind of historical background, if you were Safaricom wouldn’t you quite rightly feel that you owned the mobile phone industry in Kenya? And that anybody else trying to take away the customers you literally created has no right to do so? Those who will appreciate what I am saying here are entrepreneurs who know how hard it is to make one single sale let alone create and grab millions of faithful customers.

And with this kind of knowledge you will appreciate where the problem is. Fellow Kenyans we have created a monster called Safaricom and now that we have discovered the joys of cheaper calls we can’t just wish them away. In fact we cannot simply shout “I divorce you” three times and expect her to go away. Or at the very least behave themselves as we welcome our new younger and more desirable wife called Airtel.

The truth is that Safaricom’s super profits have come from our blood and sweat money. The company is still making profits even as they charge much lower tariffs. That is the truth.

To understand how companies that dominate rapidly growing markets can be uncontrollable monsters later when other players want a level playing field read the story of the richest man in history. One John D. Rockefeller. Interestingly Kenyans have in recent days seen for themselves the power of oil companies against EVEN legislation and the laws of a country. Indeed oil companies have organized regime changes in very many countries and it all started with Rockefeller’s monopolistic business tactics. But that is a story for another day.

In short I do not envy Bwana Njoroge and his CCK and my bet is that the meeting this morning will resolve nothing. The truth for ordinary Kenyans is that it is very difficult to move from Safaricom while retaining your cell phone number. Read this article. That is the truth!!

The Coming Two Tier Global Economy: Which is Thy Tier?

Recent posts by Chris:
Ikolomani: Why the man with two wives won

Why the next president of Kenya will be the "wrong kind of president for Kenya."

By
Mwarang'ethe

And when money failed in the land of Egypt, and in the land of Canaan, all the Egyptians came unto Joseph, and said, Give us bread: for why should we die in thy presence? For the money faileth. Genesis 47:15.

Wherefore shall we die before thine eyes, both we and our land? Buy us and our land for bread, and we and our land will be servants unto Pharaoh: and give [us] seed, that we may live, and not die, that the land be not desolate. Genesis 47:19.

The history of mankind is the unconscious product of a myriad of infinite small and unnoticed efforts. This is to say that, most of mankind’s activities are done sporadically and in disorder without much thought. This may be done by a single individual, or groups of individuals acting generally from immediate motives. The results of these unconscious activities in majority of cases transcend the knowledge and intentions of contemporaries. It is only when coming generation peruse these activities; they then may begin to form an idea of what was motivating the previous generations. This being the case then, to find a clue to the immediate, accidental, and transitory motives which have spurred of the men of the past and of the present to their labours; to describe vividly and whole-heartedly their anxieties and vicissitudes and their struggles and illusions, as they pursue/pursued their work; to discover how and why, through this work, the men of one generation have often, not satisfied the passions which impelled them to action, but effected some lasting transformation in the life of their society, this should be, the unfailing inspiration of the historian's task.

Dear reader, unnoticed by the majority of hard working and suffering working men and women, the global economy is now increasingly a two tier economy. The first tier/class shall consist of controllers of hard money and hard assets which bring in interest, rent, dividend and monopoly profits. The second tier/class shall consist of holders of worthless papers. The second class shall be forced to work harder and longer even as their living standards fall.
Sample this. On 19th January, 2011, the Standard reported this: “No easy ride to home ownership in 2011.” Among other stuff, we are told this:
Link
“In 2003, Peter and Susan Maina wanted to buy a three bed roomed apartment in Nairobi’s Westlands. It was going for Sh3 million but the couple decided to instead invest in the stock exchange. Last month, Susan and Peter were dumbfounded when they sought the same property along Nairobi’s Rhapta Road and were told they have to part with Sh14 million. We never imagined the price would more than triple in seven years as we expected an oversupply following the construction boom," Susan says. According to the couple, their estimation was a small increase of the selling price from Sh3 million in 2003 to say Sh5.5 million last year.”

In 2003, the average price of gold was about $ 370. This information, you can find here: . The exchange rate between the Kenyan shilling and the dollar was $ 1 to KES 76. This, you can get that here. This therefore, means that, with $ 39, 474. 00, Peter and Susan would have bought around 107 ounces of gold. If they disposed the 107 ounces on 21st May, 2011, they would have pocketed USD 1512 times 107 ounces which gives us $ 161, 784. 00. These dollars converted into Kenya shillings at the rate of 1 USD = 85. 5 KES, would give us KES 13, 913, 424.00. Bingo! Must be so for the Lord Commands, “Do not use dishonest standards when measuring length, weight or quantity,” in Leviticus 19:35.

As such, instead of the miserable KES 5.5 million they seem to have, they would be having KE 14 million. Herein, is the bitter lesson. What has appeared to the masses as wealth increment since 2003 has been nothing, but, DESTRUCTION OF THE PURCHASING POWER of the currency. Remember this. This is WEALTH TRANSFER from many to the few. However, the reality as we would expect, is rearing its head and Kenyans are perplexed as we see here, here and here. If you are in love with LIES and BULLSHIT from your TYRANT, who is not accountable to you, courtesy of Article 231 of your wonderful new constitution, see it here. For instance, in the last few months, this TYRANT has devalued your currency, i.e. your LABOUR to enslave you without consulting you as you can read here: “Anxiety as shilling fizzles”. However, if you are like Professor Ben Sihanya, and there are so many like him, consultation is anchored in Article 10 of the new constitution as he preaches to us here. Translated, “consultation and transparency” in all USELESS matters like the recent CJ nomination spectacle. Woe unto you lawyers for you weigh men down with burdens hard to bear, while you yourselves will not even touch the burdens with one of your fingers.

Without endorsing gold as money for it is not, we can say with confidence that, whoever put his/her labour in gold has preserved his purchasing power. However, if you believe in paper wealth like Peter and Susan, woe unto you for you shall cry with one eye with tears going down into your stomach. And, the good or bad news is that, this is the way it shall be as we go forward.

However, what is going on? In 1999, the then UK Chancellor, Mr Brown, decided to sell UK’s gold reserves. The announcement was made this way: “Today we are announcing a restructuring of the UK’s reserve holdings to achieve a better balance in the portfolio by increasing the proportion held in currency. This will involve a programme of auctions of gold.” If you read the newspapers, you will be told that, Gordon Brown was just stupid and he did not know what he was doing. If you believe such ridiculous and childish ideas, you are sleeping in a time of a revolution. All, this, you can read here: “Goldfinger Brown’s £2 billion blunder in the bullion market Chancellor ignored advice on sell-off”.

Now, pause for a moment and watch this. Also, please notice what he says about terrorism.

Let us move on. If you are awake, you should have noticed something very strange has been happening since 1980’s. From this period, we have witnessed massive sale of basic industries, or natural monopolies by states. For instance, in Kenya (this is worldwide phenomenon), Kenya Post and Telecommunications Corporation (KPTC), gone, Kenya Railways Corporation (KRC), gone, Kenya Power and Lightning Company, gone, Kenya Airways, gone, Kenya Refinery, gone, National Cereals and Produce Board (NCPB), gone, Kenya Mombasa Port, to be sold soon. For more on this, you may read here. As usual, the priests will yell, efficiency. They said the same as they enclosed common lands in England and Scotland which was then extended to other continents in form of colonialism. We are in the midst of the greatest enclosure of commons ever witnessed by mankind.

We are also reading this: "Hedge funds and investment banks are swapping their Gucci for gumboots." Moreover, “A study commissioned by the Organization for Economic Cooperation and Development and released in January estimated the amount of private capital currently committed to farmland and agricultural infrastructure at $14 billion.” Having cornered almost all public enterprises, they have now turned to cornering the farming land. All this, you may read here.

In simple words, the global economy has been turned into a RENTIER ECONOMY to yield interest and rents (monopoly profit) to the few who now control the gold, land, and other basic utilities which you will not do without. Having put toll booths on the ESSELinkNTIALS, they will raise prices to maintain their monopoly profits. This will take care of your income surplus leaving thee with bare subsistence income just to survive like a horse to work next day, as Karl Marx would say. This is achieved through three steps: (a) privatization (read, grabatization), (b) deflation, and (c) austerity.

We are now in the austerity phase as you see in Ireland, Greece, UK, and Portugal etc. Austerity means shifting of tax burden from rentiers to labour (YOU) as we see here and capital formation (productive investments) as we see here. Did you notice who is bearing these good news. Also see this: “IMF calls for VAT reforms to INCREASE collection”. When you combine austerity and the destruction of purchasing power of your paper wealth they give you every month assuming you got a job or will retain one, the side on which you fall in this two tier economy becomes clear. Good luck.

As previously noted, when one reads history, he comes home with three things: a lot of amusement, vital instruction on human nature and humility. We learn from Roman historian Tacitus, describing the Roman Empire’s policy, solitudinem faciunt pacem appellant “They have made a wilderness and call it peace.” In other words, as the Roman Empire economy deteriorated, the oligarchy used its control to shift the tax burden on to the shoulders of agricultural and handicraft producers. This led to debt foreclosure, demographic shrinkage, and a deepening dependency that settled into SERFDOM.

But, how did all this come about? Firstly, we find a clue in words of Emperor Septimus Severus. A few words about Emperor Severus. He was an African Emperor in Rome. Can you believe that? In his campaigns for the big seat, it was in everyone’s lips in Rome that, Optimus est Niger, bonus Afer, the African, i.e. Septimius Severus is a good candidate, the white candidate (i.e. Albinus) is the worst. When Severus was dying, his last words to his two sons, Caracalla and Geta were “live in harmony; enrich the troop; ignore everyone else.” A marvellous monetary policy still with us today.

As the Roman Empire continued its military adventures, as we would expect, to civilise the barbarians, to combat communism, to combat drugs and terrorism, it doubled inheritance taxes paid by Roman citizens, introduced tax on estates of Senator (as we are doing with our mps), taxed the capital of merchants, i.e. not their earnings payable in gold, they sacked pagan temples for gold and as expected, accused people of treason and confiscated their estates. Kenya is already stealthily confiscating as we are reading that: “State slashes money allocated for tax refunds”. This being not enough, the Empire admitted all inhabitants into citizens to expand tax base (do you hear such debate in the USA today?). As expected, all these measures proved not enough and the ultimate state solution was sought, which is DEBASING the currency, i.e. destruction of purchasing power of the currency. This brings us full circle to the story Peter and Susan above.

In the course of the 3rd Century inflation, the Roman government discovered that, when it paid its troops in debased coins, the prices rose immediately. Every time the silver value of the denarius dropped, prices naturally rose. So, what to do? In order to try to protect its civil servants and its soldiers from the effects of inflation, the Roman State began to demand payment of taxes in kind and in services rather than in coin. They wound up, in effect, repudiating their own issued coins, not accepting them for tax collection purposes. With Constantine's reform, this situation changed somewhat and, slowly and the government began to move away from collecting taxes and paying salaries in kind, and began to substitute collecting taxes and paying salaries in gold. Over the long run, this meant that the gold standard was strengthened and gold remained the real money of the Roman Empire.

However, the inflation did not end for the masses of the people. In other words, gold was a hedge against inflation for those who had it, and these were principally the troops and the civil servants. It meant that, the taxpayers had to buy these gold coins to pay taxes. If they were wealthy, they could afford. If were poor, they would be unable to pay tax and they lost their lands or became delinquents.

However, it was not just war which led to inflation. Initially, they had 20 provinces. However with no additional territory, they increased them to over a 100 provinces with the imperial administration in Rome (Nairobi), governors in provinces (Counties), and city administrations (City Councils). All this was done in the name of REFORMS.

One of the most interesting things we learn is this. Despite all of this inflation, or perhaps we should say, because of all of this inflation, the price of gold, in terms of its purchasing power, remained stable from the first through the fourth century. In other words, gold remained, in terms of its purchasing power, a stable value whereas all this other coinage just became increasingly worthless.

So, what do we learn was consequences of this inflation?

(a) The Roman state was not destroyed by inflation, what was destroyed by inflation was the freedom of the Roman people. Particularly, the first victim was their economic freedom. As this went on, we find Rome nationalizing the industry. Do you remember bailouts?

(b) By 4th Century, the small land holders had lost their lands and were now working in what we would call agribusiness owned by large land owners. Most of these big land owners were surprise, surprise, the government officials. The land consolidation was so brutal such that, at end of the day, the African province was in the hands of 6 men and whole of Roman lands were in the hands of 1800 families. Do you recall the Hedge Funds are buying massive agricultural lands as cited above?

(c) To stop price rises, one Emperor issues a famous Edict on Maximum Prices in 301 AD. In other words, stop inflation by price controls. As a result, goods disappeared in Rome. This led to riots in the streets. Do you recall oil price regulations and the pending Bill to control prices?

(d) As this went on, there emerged a two-tier monetary system in which the government, the soldiers, and the bureaucrats enjoyed the benefits of a gold standard while the nongovernmental portion of the economy continued to struggle with a rapidly inflating fiat currency.

(e) They invented government budget to gouge tax from the masses. Today, budgets are awaited with much fanfare. Think about that.

Unless drastic economic reforms are undertaken to solve the global DEBTS crisis, the USA centred world is crashing into a financially imposed austerity, Roman Empire style which will lead to neo – feudalism. And, as historians tell us, the fall of Rome was a tragic hour in which the sun of the Graeco – Latin civilization set over the deserted fields, the abandoned cities, and left behind homeless, ignorant and brutalised peoples. It was so, and it shall be so because, in recorded history, every debt crisis has ended in INFLATION, BANKRUPTCY or WAR. The hour is late. Good luck.

Ikolomani: Why Bloody primitive bull fighting did the trick

"The by-election in Ikolomani is a pratice match for ODM because it will define how 2012 will go".
– Hon James Orengo before ODM was floored at the constituency.

ODM bigwigs will of course be putting up a brave face this morning but if you want to know the truth, they are shaking and shaking really violently in their boots. And with good reason too because Dr Bonny Khalwale took on ODM head on and ended up re-capturing his parliamentary seat.
The bull fighting gynae with his two wives Adelaide (right) and Josephine.

UPDATE:
This lady who is a big fun of Kumekucha has posed the question: what are the sleeping arrangements in a polygamous home? Well, I wrote an article about that here in Kumekucha quite some time back. Read it HERE
AND here is a hilarious quote from that article:
You can imagine the man reading the Nation in the sitting room and one of the wives approaching him meekly to ask him which of them it would be for the night. And then the man still behind his newspaper muttering a name: "mama so and so." Really hilarious stuff. But the joke is not funny for the women who have to put up with it. I have absolutely no idea how they do it.
-----------------------------------------------------------------

James Orengo of ODM famously said that the Ikolomani by-election will define 2012 and although things did not quite go the way he and his colleagues at Orange house had anticipated his statement still holds very true. What happened in Ikolomani yesterday gives us all a pretty good picture of what we should expect in 2012.

Political party bigwigs in PNU and ODM just don’t get it, do they? Their actions during the numerous by elections we have gone through since last year suggest that they are a tad slow between the ears. Or is it just more comfortable to hang onto mirages and dreams of yesteryears when you reach a certain age? These guys have continued to spend huge sums of money trying to flex their political muscles at the constituency level in a bid to boost or retain their national numbers. But time and again the voters on the ground have resisted what they quite rightly see as an invasion from outsiders. They have enjoyed the cash bribes lavished on them but voted soberly. And that is exactly is what happened at Ikolomani. Out of the 24 constituencies in Western province ODM has no less than 19 seats. The assumption is that the party will retain its’ popularity in Western province come 2012. What rubbish!! It is the same dream some poor Kenyans have over the presidency gauging the popularity of one Raila Odinga on the 2007 General elections (which he won emphatically but was denied giving inspiration to that chap at the Ivory Coast who tried to do a Kibaki with laughable results). The political reality is that a huge percentage of Raila votes in 2007 were actually protest votes against Mwai Kibaki. Remove Mwai Kibaki from the equation and Raila loses a couple of million votes. Just wait and see. And so the 19 ODM seats in Western province mean nothing but then boys will always be boys with their silly games.

The chaps at Orange house in Nairobi who decided that it was a good idea to try and flex their muscles in Ikolomani to prove a political point have not woken up very well this morning. Admittedly the fortune spent by the party gave a respectable 10,702 votes to Bernard Shinali (the man fronted by the party) against Dr Bonny Khalwale’s 13,208. Some analysts reckon that this was a very close race. I don’t share that view, not when this was a by election with the usual low turn out, undue outside interference by idle political party secretariat hangers-on etc.

And it is not just the politicians who never seem to get it. Kenyans in big cities (a vast percentage of Kumekucha voters) and the mainstream press sometimes think that Kenya is the United States or Great Britain. Their sophistication tells them that Dr Bonny Khalwale, a polygamist who spends most of his time getting tickled by bull fights that leave poor cows gored and badly bleeding, is not a serious man. Indeed the guy mostly looks like a typical Ikolomani residence himself in the way he dresses when he is at “ingo.” And so they pass judgment and cheer the challenger forgetting that on the ground Dr Khalwale is extremely popular.

The other important point to take home from the by-election is that Kenyans should prepare for the era of the independent. Chances are that even the next president of Kenya may just be an independent. Khalwale was not an independent but contrary to what the folks at New Ford Kenya want to think, Khalwale’s win had absolutely nothing to do with the alleged popularity of the party. Ikolmani people voted for the Gynaecologist doctor cum bull fighting maestro and NOT a political party. We are bound to see much more of the same all over the country in 2012.

Why the wrong kind of president for Kenya will win in 2012

P.S. Nobody is talking about the Kitendawili I gave in my post yesterday. How come?

Introducing some very unlikely front runners for the presidency in 2012

Gacoka legislator Mutava Musyimi believes that his life is in danger mainly because of his intention to run for the presidency in 2012.

Well to be honest he did not really put it as directly as that. He clothed it all nicely in political-speak. Read the story for yourself HERE.

Like many before him Hon Musyimi has made a number of very basic political mistakes in this his maiden appearance in the August house. Like tabling bills without doing the necessary groundwork first (too elementary for a person of his standing surely and the excuse of wanting to play to “his gallery” just doesn’t wash). In my view the former leader of the NCCK also lost a golden chance to show true leadership during the referendum for the new constitution. In my book a true leader will resist the flow of the river (no matter how strong it is) if it is going in the wrong direction and as a matter of principal back an unpopular horse and use their influence to gather support in their constituency. I still cringe when memories of dignified Musyimi standing right next to William Ruto float back to my mind. I mean the guy was brushing shoulders and actually consulting with the Kalenjin war lord. Over what??? What can the two men honestly discuss in the next 200 years?

Anyway my point is that despite his mistakes, Hon Musyimi is a man with a very solid background and reputation that nobody can take away from him. He is not the kind of parliamentarian to call a press conference to peddle lies or to spin stuff to his advantage. And so I honestly believe that his life is in danger and that the people who want him dead are not interested in land issues. They are disturbed about the Reverend’s chances of making a decent stab at the highest office in the land.

Now that is a strange thing for Kumekucha to say when everybody knows that according to the polls the front runners for the office are names we have always heard, the usual suspects really. Big names like Raila "Kitendawili" Odinga, Uhuru “The Hague” Kenyatta, Kalonzo “YES-NO-NO-YES-YES Musyoka etc. But I insist that these are NOT the names you will be seeing on the leader board in 2012. Indeed I put it to you good folks that the names in those elections will be a riddle of sorts. Very strange names of people you would hardly expect. Aliens from Mars… almost. It will be a reflection of just how fed up we Kenyans have become of being cheated as very selfish and self-serving political games are being played behind the scenes.

The thugs who broke into Hon Musyimi’s house at Karen armed to the teeth with the kind of weapons that send people to the next world with absolute certainty like the Russian made automatic weapon called an AK47 (Did you know that this popular death merchant was invented by a guy who never got rich called Mikhail Kalashnikov. It is officially known as Avtomat Kalashnikova and the “47” comes from the year it was first introduced into the Soviet military?) were sent by people who have already figured out the information you are reading here but still refusing to believe. And these people who want the precious presidency of the banana republic called Kenya for themselves want to use the age-old political weapon of assassination to make sure that the likes of Musyimi and “other wrong presidents for Kenya” do not see the inside of State house. Folks you will already be aware that some people are saying that the very constitutionally nominated Chief Justice is the wrong Chief Justice for Kenya. These people if you really pushed them for their honest views will tell you that the unconstitutionally appointed Chief Justice that the President tried to force down our throats a few months ago and any other appointees he might want to pull out of his magic hat is “the right chief justice for Kenya.”

And so my dear brothers and sisters, please get prepared for “the wrong kind of president for Kenya” to get elected in 2012 and to carry us all to the Promised Land that we have always yearned for but never gotten to.

I can hear you impatiently wondering who the other unlikely front runners for the presidency are. Sadly I cannot drop names at this point because I will upset the apple cart and some very sensitive negotiations going on behind the scenes. But I will tell you this. Beware of people who are too eager to lead. That is a valuable gem of a lesson I learnt that you can use anywhere, even in the appointment of your next CEO for that small business you are running somewhere. People who are too eager to lead are proud folks who assume plenty of things and are quick to rubbish the achievements of their predecessors. And they usually end up falling flat on their faces. I will mention three names. Jakaya Kikwete of Tanzania and Mwai Kibaki of Kenya and Kalonzo “YES-NO-NO-YES-YES Musyoka of Kenya.

Hopefully the next president of Kenya is a man who is at this time agonizing over the huge responsibility Kenyans want to place on their inexperienced shoulders. They would be much more comfortable staying in the shadows and supporting somebody else. Integrity is going to be the key qualification here folks and not experience and you can take that to your bank. This man or woman is wondering whether they are really up to it. They have plenty of doubts and yet cannot resist the opportunity to once again sacrifice all for the motherland like they have already done before. I am talking about two possible candidates. Stay tuned for more in the coming months.

P.S. I was talking to this old wise man the other day and he dropped a riddle that fits the current Kenyan landscape perfectly. I will tell it and then leave you to figure it out.

One day these rats had a meeting to discuss the cat. They all knew that if they joined hands and got rid of the cat they would live happily ever after and feed to their fill. But they also knew that it would require sacrifice and selflessness because in felling the cat a few of them would have to die and become “cat meal”. Now we all know that rats by nature are very greedy and selfish and that is where their plan hit a snag. There was nobody willing to sacrifice their lives for a better tomorrow for all rats. And so to this day the Cat continues to reign supreme (despite what the very popular Tom and Jerry cartoon would want you to believe).

Work that one out for yourself and I will tell you more tomorrow peeps.

How To Fool and Enslave Africans

By Mwarang'ethe

Some writers and commentators on this blog have asserted that, imperialism as the key factor in the African mess is over rated. We read these prejudices with a lot of amusement. We do so because, many seem not aware, that, the first thing imperialists have done in all ages is to ensure the citizens in the imperial centres and the slaves in the conquered nations are kept stupid and ignorant of the forces at work. This is done through state imposed education, media, religion and state organised pomp. They do this because, they know, majority of humanity abhor slavery. As such, the goal is twofold. Firstly, they ensure no guilty feelings are aroused on the part of imperial citizens by ensuring they never fully realise they are being used to enslave others. Secondly, the enslaved must be kept stupid, distracted and ignorant that, the corruption, impunity and violence they see around them is just the effect and not the cause. As such, to fasten delusions and childish fantasies on the slaves, the imperialists fund projects to fight the effect of that which they engineer. As an example of childish delusions, you may study idlers and noise makers like PLO Lumumba and their parasitic organisation called KACC.

They succeed brilliantly because; they know from psychology and history this. Men appeal not so much to truth itself, but, to the prevalent opinion, and are therefore, disposed to treat whatever stands opposed to it, as necessarily erroneous. The authority, in which men acquiesce, is therefore, that which is present, and to which they have been accustomed to yield assent. Whatever is opposed to this, and separated from it by distance of time or space, has no influence on their judgments. So ignorantly kept, the citizens of the imperial centres who get some crumbs from the table of the imperialists, perpetuate the imperial system by sending well intentioned, but, ill thought aid to the poor slaves of the conquered nations. By doing so, they vainly deceive themselves very good people who care about the poor people.

For the slaves in the conquered nations, they see flags dangling in the air, dogs and soldiers marching on independence days and they vainly imagine they are free. Armed with such false interpretation of what they see, they form the wrong opinion that, to end the rampant corruption, impunity, famines, etc, the present leaders must be replaced by better ones with better morals and values. How the present leaders are bad, who should replace them and how, such nonsense then, as a matter of irrational logic, occupies the minds of slaves every day. To aid in the process of getting better leaders, lawyers like Koki Muli engage in civic education. Needless to say, well funded by the imperialists. To crown this modern circus, the UN and the associated bodies send election observers as we see in Ivory Coast and soon in Libya. This is the prevalent opinion/prejudice, but, is not the truth. In other words, these elections we see around are nothing, but, a modern circus like that of Middle Ages Italians who had annual practice of hurling from top to bottom wagonloads of live hogs for the diversion of the populace.

Now, on 5th May, 2011, two things were reported in our pressitute. The DN informed us that: “EPZ manufacturers to sell products domestically once Bill is passed”. We mentioned these Special EPZs on 13th May, 2010 in our article: EPZs and Modern Slavery: Who Shall Tell Wanjiku the Ugly Truth. The other piece of news was a legal circus on the CJ interviews as we see here.

As one would expect, Kenyans only noticed the useless legal circus led by Mr Abdulahi Ahmednasir. One can understand Kenyans. It is their desire to have a nation where justice flows like the mighty spring. However, Kenyans led by these learned fools, are like a florist, whose desire for the flower as the ultimate product, leads him to neglect the roots and leaves which are intrinsically of greater importance, because, on them, the evolution of the flower depends. In other words, these learned ignorant lawyers, have never bothered to reflect, is it rational to expect a good judicial system in a nation of serfs? Woe unto you lawyers!

From the EPZ report, we are told that, when this law is passed, those who operate in the EPZ’s will be allowed to sell their products locally. This, we are told by Mr Mathenge Wanderi, the EPZ Chairman “during a workshop in Kwale to sensitise local residents on EPZ opportunities in the region.” It is when you read such statements, you are forced to recall Jesus saying, forgive them Father, for they know not what they do. Reading further, we hear that, the Kenya Association of Manufacturers is against this idea for it will favour EPZ manufacturers at the expense of other normal manufacturers. Let us first note this. The EPZ idea is from the World Bank and associated bodies. We agree with KAM. However, we go further to demonstrate imperialist destructive genius at work.

Firstly, when we set EPZ’s, we exempt the manufacturers located there, from a lot of taxes/robbery. That is fine. However, these EPZ people require some common services such as security and good roads. More so, since most of the manufacturers in the EPZ’s are foreigners, they are paid abroad by those they manufacture for. This means therefore, may be only about 10% of the sums involved per each product is ever seen in Kenya. If this is the case, we ask, who funds the common services these manufacturers expect? The answer is simple. The local manufacturers and their employees. In other words, through these EPZ’s, imposed on us by our friends, the poor of the poor of this earth, subsidise the mega corporations which are the buyers of the EPZ’s products. As if this was not enough, now, the plan is to have tax free manufactures compete with those who subsidise them.

And, by the way, why do we need these slave enclaves called the EPZs in the first place? The priests tell us that, we need them, so as to raise foreign currency. Why do we need so much of these foreign papers? They tell us, to pay debts and pay for our imports. How do we incur these debts? Well, we incur them to enlarge our slums as we read here: “World Bank approves Sh8.4 billion for infrastructure upgrade”. In other words, to connect our own labour with our own soil, we need dollars. Translated. Americans get a chance to export their engineering and capital goods. As a consequence, when we get dollars from our coffee, instead of using it to buy industrial goods to modernise our economy and thereby, ensure the necessary social political reforms which must follow such modernisation, we hand over the same to the West and keep on importing that we can make ourselves. Why do they do this? The imperialist know that, by importing raw materials worthy $ 20 billion, they can turn the same into $ 200 billion. At the same time, our slums as planned by the WB would have expanded for more loans in the future.

Even worse, when we incur these foreign denominated debts, we are further pushed into more EPZs and cash crop farming at the expense of food crops. Therein, by utilising our best soils for export oriented agriculture, we find ourselves starving every year. Now, to solve these problems, Professor Calestous Juma has come with a new formula in his new book: The New Harvest. As one would expect, of a mis – educated African, in the service of the Empire, he presented his findings to the gullible African leaders. Well, we have news for Professor Juma. The imperialists have already decided to saddle Africans with more debts. Now, using Juma’s book as authority, expect more debts which are nothing, but, alienation of future African labour, i.e. capitalising the blood of the unborn. In other words, Juma is just another African Trojan horse. The problem is that, when these debts come due, Juma will be long gone and the Africans slaves who will bear the brunt of the same, will be distracted with usual nonsense like elections, new constitutions etc. You can see the interview of this African Trojan horse here.

Why this is going on, you may ask. Simple, because, in our childish ignorance, we have accepted it. You may ask, how? As an example, study Articles 36, 46, 46A and 47 of The Central Bank of Kenya Act and Article 231 of your wonderful new constitution. You may protest that, the matters discussed therein, are too technical. We ask, didn’t Koki Muli conduct civic education to you? Should you continue to inquire, we shall tell you that, universal suffrage assumes you have the relevant information to be a citizen. You may not know it, but, these few lines, there lies the summation of imperialist’s experience of the last 6000 years. If you do not understand that, then, remember this warning: “Voting - The Modern Opium of the People”.

In the same article, we read this: “Due to stiff competition from Asian countries for foreign markets and high production costs in the country especially on electricity, most manufacturers operating in the EPZ framework have closed down.” Why is this happening Mr World Bank? This is the deal. On 14th April, 2011, it was foolishly reported by our empty heads that: “Lots of hope in Makueni as techno city gets off the ground”. Among other things, you will notice these words: “The government signed a contract with the International Finance Corporation (IFC), the transactional advisors for the $10 billion project in October 2009.” Also, so innocently, you will read these words: “... India is a world leader in technology today. Egypt’s similar project, known Smart Village, hosts 120 companies and 20,000 professionals. Cairo expects to increase the tally to 500 companies and 100,000 professionals by 2012. Kenya’s project in Makueni involves massive infrastructure upgrade including the development of a high speed railway system.”

Translated. The IFC, as an imperial economic strategy, is giving loans to numerous 3rd world countries to set SIMILAR projects. Do you think they can fund different BMW car manufacturing in 20 countries? Never. They will even bomb such factories were they to appear. Once these projects come online at the same time, they will be competing to sell the same standardised product to the same market. Therefore, the price offerings must be lowered so as to compete by all these nations. This will be the same with the agricultural loans the African Trojan is bringing. So many evil consequences, unseen now, will flow from this.

Firstly, we will be left with debts we are unable to pay. So as to pay these debts, we will be advised by the IMF, World Bank/IFC, to sell our Mombasa port as an example. The same bodies will buy the same on credit. That time, the operative word will be efficiency. Also, given the stiff competition, the operators will have no choice, but, to offer serfdom wages. Now, factor this “The government has started building a perimeter wall around the 5,000-acre land meant for the project, triggering a rush for plots in its environs.”

Translated. Rents shall be high enough, to absorb any surplus the serfs may get and thereby, reduce them to total slavery which ensures we never build internal market so that, we remain dependent on external markets. We mentioned this issue several times, so, we just cite one article: “Nyanza To Be Double Taxed Under The New Constitution”.

Now, in a nation of slave wages, we are told by the charlatans calling themselves learned friends that, Kenyans are “committed to nurturing and protecting the well - being of the individual, the family, communities and the nation.” For these empty and foolish words, see the Preamble of the New Constitution. If you have time to waste seeing a flower without roots and leaves, you may read the empty Bill of Rights in Chapter Four of the new wonderful constitution. Just to make your life easier, we mention Article 30 where we find that: “A person shall not be held in slavery or servitude.” They forgot to write, “Except where such person is employed at slavish terms at the Special EPZs.” Also, in Article 41 (2) we read that, “Every worker has the right - (a) fair remuneration.” They forgot to write, coming from the sky like manna. These empty heads, paid millions for nothing, lie to themselves that, legislation can add to man new powers. They may as well make laws to affect movements of the planets. However, do not worry, these same lawyers, will form the NGO’s funded by the imperialists to agitate for better pay from the evil manufacturers and stir imaginary conflicts between labour and capital so as to throw dust into the eyes of mankind.

And, we are not yet done. Without entering into complexities of the EPZ’s, we just note this. The EPZ’s are borne out of functional analysis of the kinds of activities a factory performs. In other words, the rewards due to any factory/business activity are dependent on the functions, risks and intellectual property it controls. From this, there flow very evil consequences. For instance, the outsourced parts are mostly low – end activities which are subject to constant or negative returns to scale and have very limited scope for learning. Consequently then, the rewards for the kind of economic activities are very low. In other words, Kenya like all African countries is now locked into a Malthusian trap whereby, due to vaccines, good health etc, while our population is expanding without any significant increase in productivity. This lowers the living standards back to the subsistence level. This being the case, we find ourselves locked into a zero sum society whereby, the elite circulation is, and can only be based on static rent seeking rather than, dynamic rents which come from serious industrial activities.

This being the case, we have a system whereby, personal wealth must come as a matter of LOGIC and HISTORICAL evidence:

(a) from siphoning rents from raw material extraction,
(b) from international aid industry which clouds rent seeking in the industrial activities.

This then, leads to corruption as an inevitable, integral and NECESSARY part of the African economies. From this, just like the pre – industrial societies, we are now locked into cyclical sequence of tribal wars with each tribe trying to secure the static and non – productive rents that accrue to the capital or major towns. Now, with increased taxation and destitution that must follow the implementation of the new law, you can expect things to unravel even faster. The question is, why did Kenyans fail so miserably? We find the answer in the words of a famous historian that:

“... to comprehend this important truth, let us attempt, in an improved society, to calculate the immense distance between the man of learning and the illiterate peasant. The former, by reading and reflection, multiplies his own experience, and lives in distant ages and remote countries; whilst the latter, rooted to a single spot, and confined to a few years of existence, surpasses but very little his fellow – labourer the ox in the exercise of his mental faculties.”

In summary therefore, the catastrophic failure by Kenyans to understand their own minds and their own society is an indictment of the whole education system which emphasises mere knowledge and not understanding. For instance, if the designers of this new law were truly men and women of learning, they would have been instructed by these words:

“The decay of the great industrial and commercial towns also brought poverty upon the whole Greece: agricultural work proved unprofitable, and the artisans could find no employment in the secondary towns, yet at the same time, as in great and small republics, the peasants flocked to the towns from the most distant parts of the country and abandoned the country as the nation grew poorer. The vices attendant upon wealth, luxury, the thirst for pleasure, avarice, the gambling spirit, municipal pride and intrigue, far from disappearing, continued to develop with increasing force. By degrees, large estates worked slaves or lands entirely deserted had replaced districts formerly populous, while in towns art languished and morals deteriorated, in spite of the most desperate efforts. Want and corruption, walking, as usual, hand in hand, entered the palace of the noble, the house of the merchant and the humble dwelling of the peasant.”

In the end, when we analyse the new constitution, we can only observe that, it is impossible to design a more unjust and absurd constitution than that which condemns Kenyans/Africans to perpetual servitude under the arbitrary dominion of strangers. Yes, servitude, corruption, fraud and violence propped by Law and Order that our new CJ shall administer. This must be so because, without material abundance, which we have abandoned, the most valiant and heroic strivings shall be in vain. It is so because, wealth underlies all civilization and ultimately, therefore, to a large extent both knowledge and religion. It may be among the lowest, but, is also the first step towards social worth and national strength. We need not value material wealth for that which it is in itself, but, for that to which it can be made to minister. As such, from it, we derive all intellectual, social and religious advantages. Anyway, as a poet wrote:

Wherefore feed, and clothe, and save,
From the cradle to the grave,
Those ungrateful drones who would
Drain your sweat – nay, drink your blood!

The seed ye sow another reaps;
The wealth ye find another keeps;
The robes ye weave another wears;
The arms ye forge another bears.

Sow seed – but let no tyrant reap;
Find wealth – let no impostor heap;
Weave robes – let not the idle wear;
Forge arms, in your defence to bear.

Rise, like lions after slumber,
In unvanguishable number!
Shake your chains to earth like dew
Which in sleep has fallen on you!
Ye are many – they are few.

Expansionist Museveni Walks to Fourth Term

While loudmouthed Dr. Kizza Besigye is shamelessly urging Ugandans to walk to work, the hard working revolutionist Yoweri Kaguta Miseveni hasjust been installed as the President for a fourth term in office. Kizza may have been Museveni's personal physician but he is no match to the real Sebo. No wonder his eyes were sprayed with deadly pepper and had to run to Nairobi for treatment.

Uganda needs Museveni more than Kaguta needs her. After JUST 26 years Ugandans seem to have forgotten that they owe everything to Yoweri. He deserves to stay in power until the natural equalizer beckons. If anything Leader Colonel Gaddafi himself told Museveni that revolutionists don't QUIT they soldier on and lord it over their subjects until the limbs fail.

The world can make all the noise they want but Museveni and Uganda are the same thing. All he needed at his inauguration ceremony are his TRUSTED neighbours and colleagues. With Mugabe, Moi and Kibaki around, Sebo is in good company.

Charity begins at home and already Museveni has shown the way and leading by example in uniting Africa. After expanding Uganda into Lake Victoria by adding Migingo, he has lately acquired Ugingo and we Kibaki must thank him on our behalf for his unmatched statesmanship and enterprising expansionist qualities.

As our own KK resident virtual economists will tell you for free all the West's eyes are singularly trained on Uganda's new-found oil. You need a strongman and battle hardened leader like Museveni to milk that wealth. Others must learn to wait for knock-down effects.

Congratulations are due to Kaguta. Twenty six years and counting. With First lady as minister, son leading the presidential guard and daughter as private secretary you are in safe hands.

Osama Head Prized Trophy, No Tears for Killer

They got him and he is dead. At long last Osama met his match and the hitherto tough-talking mass murderer was shot hiding behind his screaming wife whom he shamelessly turned into a human shield. What a royal coward? The lesson is clear. Behind the tough talk from fugitives resides the soft underbelly that epitomizes superlative cowardice. Professor Laurent Gbagbo hid behind his wife Simone before capture and now Osama tried to use his wife as a human shield. He may have lived large and sounded tough but that bravado melted when the time of reckoning came. Conspiracy theorists will be working overdrive flogging the tired lines of imperialism and Osama being the handiwork of US itself. But the bottom line for those Kenyans who have bored the raw brunt of his his murderous rage is he met his match. Live by the sword, die by the very blade. That Osama successfully played hide-and-seek for close to two decades evading capture does not subtract the fact that he was the ultimate evil. And back home one genociduer Felician Kabuga will be left scratching his head before he is smoked. He can run but cannot hide forever. No amount of fraud will buy his eternal freedom from corrupt Kenyans. Osama is down and out and that leaves the world without one devil incarnate. At the risk of sounding sadistic, kudos to the executioners.

Rennenberger Smitten, Prospect Future Obama

The heart has no protocol. Michael came, ranted, raved but above all else he got smitten. As he packs his bags to join the State Department, Rennenberger will be having among his luggage a trophy like no other. As for Ruth Konchella, it cannot get any better after landing the ultimate jackpot every girl dreams of as evident in her confident kiss squarely planted on Michael's lips.

And so there goes the story of IRRESISTIBLE Kenyan women. Even the macho Arturs had their hearts melt at the sight of our local queens. Given Obama's Kenyan roots, he couldn't be prouder with Renneberger bringing a piece of Kenya home in the form of a most expensive diplomatic, sorry emotional, prize.

The jury is out and who knows whether the two love birds will be the proud parents of a future Obama? Congratulations to both.
