Prime Minister,President tell Parliament:Agree For Us

Interesting times are here for Kenya's parliament courtesy of the new constitution.

The MPs are tasting the benefit of true parliamentary democracy, and the fate of nominees to justice and budget office jobs lies in their hands With their increased parliamentary influence surely MPs now have all the freedom in the world and the biggest winner is the people of Kenya courtesy of H.Es "hands off approach" and a PM known to favour a parliamentary system of government.

Kudos to VPORK Musyoka whose one man continent wide ICC deferral crusade pushed to the top of the agenda discussions between the 2 principals on the impending prosecution of the Ocampo 6. But then again PORK apologists will be quickl to give President Kibaki credit pointing out how during his tenure the incumbent has consistently sought to make his a truly unofficial devolved style of government by handing over more responsibility for running the country to his lieutenants. In this yet again H.E. was a man ahead of his time

The Prime Minister in his supervisory and co-ordinating role has also equally been known to favour a more consultative approach involving cracking the whip where necessary. Over now to the JLA and FPT departmental house committees. But wait a minute doesn't a fractured ODM (thanks to William Ruto pitting himself against the Prime Minister in his quest to be the next executive PM) control the legislative arm of government by virtue of more MPs?

Given that there is no credible official opposition in parliament discounting the few disgruntled NARC Kenya back benchers, Kenyans can only hope that House Speaker Marende's newly acquired referee role as the biblically wise 'political Solomon' will not relegate to parliament any future disagreements between the two principals as this might be tantamount to rubber stamping government business by prejudiced and set minds from the party with the majority in parliament just so that state affairs may be conducted smoothly

Nevertheless Kenya is still moving forward and Kenyans need to be vigilant as their MPigs are still falsely secure in the knowledge that despite the recall clause included the new constitution is not yet fully implemented and therefore MPs are off the hook as far as redeeming their image of being a hindrance to national development is concerned. This political stalemate must be broken and the law must be applied equally to all in both spirit and letter. God bless Kenya

  1. MPIGS....an apt characterization, indeed! What makes anyone think that the bunch of tribally-inclined retards in our legislature would do anything constructive in this case? Emilio and the PM also need to have their heads examined.

  2. chris...concerning your previous post and to add onto this one, i believe its parliamentary procedure that after commitees finish with an agenda then the speaker MAKES A RULING whether parliament should debate the same. so it was in order that he never jumped to a ruling without giving parliamentary democracy its due course. i have firm believe that the committtees will see the nominations null and request re nomination. the mps do not see the kenyan pple overwhelmingly detesting their way of work but so sad we have to wait 5 yrs--oh wait a minute-- we shall begin recalling them. kenya exposed its foolery to the world and now as far as i am concerned the ocampo 6 will have their date withe the argentine. our prayers to marende that he may be steadfast n fair.
    god bless jamhuri

  3. Luke, I hope you will not yank my comment in the same way you did the last time around.

All things considered, it's a bit far fetched to associate a man or politician in Marende's capacity in the same breath with a decisive character like King Solomon of old?

King David once said to his son Solomon, "You are wise, you know how to handle thses things. You'll know what to do to make him (Shimei) pay before he dies."

Solomon was a very decisive person and that's why he didn't think twice when time came to get rid of Adonijah son of Haggith. He dispatched Benaiah son of Jehoiada with orders to kill Adonijah.

Solomon went on to strip Abiathar of his priesthood and sent him into exile after having replaced him with Zadok the priest, fulfilling God's word at Shiloh regarding the family of Eli.

Solomon had no hesitation in giving the orders "Kill him" to Benaiah son of Jehoiada when the time came to get rid of Joab the son of Zeruiah, a man who had conspired with Adonijah.

Solomon also dealt with Shimei son of Gera the Benjaminite from Bahurim, the same character who had cursed his father King David so viciously when David was on his way to Mahanaim.

Shimei was struck dead by Benaiah on Solomon's orders after he failed to honour the orders given to him by Soloman.

He had been given a second chance at life and commanded to confine himself in Jerusalem for the rest of life and never dare so much as cross the Brook Kidron, because it would be his death sentence.

Shimei being the evil man that he was, got executed for failing to keep the sacred promise as ordered by Solomon.

As for the two political pros who came before Marende seeking a decision regarding the fate of the judicial nominees, the public was waiting to hear Marende render judgment, but as word got around - everyone in Nairobi and Kenya heard of his indecision and some many concluded that the man chicken out of the issue.

They all were in disblief, realizing that it was not political wisdom that enbaled Marende to dodge the issue but it was all about an issue of saving his own political career and life.

Marende didn't want to render any judgement lest it comes back to bite a chunk of his future political prospects.

  5. Poor Luke and Kenyans. Replacing Gicheru, Wako, DPP etc, with lawyers nominated under the new constitution will SOLVE NOTHING.

You can see what is happening in Egypt. They have rioted, destroyed property, businesses and lost lives, but, all they got was more INFLATION (increased cost of living) via public sector wage increases, and MORE PUBLIC DEBTS running into 2 billion dollars in just two weeks.

In other words, the rioter's and their children, born and unborn, have now their labour pledged
as COLLATERAL by the same OLIGARCHY for an additional 2 billion dollars. Pure genious! In other words, the beneficiaries of the Egyptian so called revolution is the same OLIGARCHY.

As we have noted, this is what happens when your fight for freedom is dominated by EMOTIONS and NO REASON.

So, good luck as your pursue the correct nomination procedures. We even urge Kenyans to nominate just women to fill these posts. However, at the end of the day, we can assure thee of this, all Kenyans will get is the BILL after the OLIGARCHY has been eaten.

  6. This Raila "elephant" needs a combined force of tribal chiefs / warlords with no ideology to bring him down. That is why come 2012 if they indeed succeed to topple him then kk tribal chiefs upto the village laden diaspora will change tune as they will realise that Kalonzo / Uhuru/ Ruto have nothing to offer Kenya but are just KANU diehards reincarneting themselves.

Kalonzo has no reform credentials, infact deto, his work speaks for itself and can be summarised as USELESS!!! Even prison reform imemshinda, compare what Uncle Moody did compared to this looser.

Ruto has no agenda and GEMA will be angling for his political neck once they are done with Raila, he may continue singing the political orbituary of Raila but he should prepare himslef for his own cremation.

As for Uhuru, what the GEMA nation sees in this one is all lost, Michuki's annointing seems to have done wonders, this land baron seems to have put the GEMA nation in a trance, well let the Pide Piper from Gatundu send them down the cliff if the misses the Hague train.

Lets enjoy the comedy of errors, vitriol, missives and epithets that are deeply part of our political system

  7. Anon 10:21 PM aka Taabu,

How about you spare us vitrol towards those "exported villagers in Diaspora"?
There are about 2.5 million Kenyans living abroad (outside kenya) and here you are everyday venting your frustations in KumeKucha.
It's very EASY to get that visa you have been craving for. You only problem is your sura mbaya kama Nyani or Mbwa mwitu you have! They might think you are a peodo or thug! You can blame that on your whore mother who sired you!

  8. While the Prime Minister, the President and their cohorts are busy lobbying the idle nyama choma parliament to agree with their version of non consultative sales of the nominees.

People like Anon 10:21 PM should be informed that so many of the so called "exported villagers" will be graduating this coming summer in something other than "tribal vitriol" or "vitriolic rhetoric."

Most them are doing well for themselves in their own affordable ways.

80% of the 3.5 million diasporans stated that they glad to have been raised in the wonderful villages of Kenya rather than in the slums or rundown lower middle class and middle class loservilles in Nairobi, Mombasa, Nakuru and other little towns around the country.

Take a sabatical, study leave or leave absence, get a visa and come see for yourself.

Seems as if mental disorders and other deep seated personal issues have become a way of life for some unfortunate individuals.

Ignoring crazed comments from a schizo or a bipo is one of the available remedies.

In real life, people normally ignore or walk away or cross to the other side of the street or road when accosted by a raving schizo or ranting bipo.

  25. Kalonzo, What would Jesus do with 31.5 million of public money ? Feed the Starving Kenyans, provide shelter for the IDP or go on joy rides. You dont need to convince MP's from your party. You need to look at the starving Kenyans in the eye and convince them that spending 31.5 million defending impunity was "worth it".Wow. That's strong.
The 'Lords of Impunity' are making a final push to take over this country.
If Prof Kaloki does NOT believe in what Kalonzo is doing, why should Kenyans, and I believe that spending 31.9 Million shillings on joy rides is well spent money?

Take a second good look at the current wastage of the treasury from a different angel.

What would 31.9 Million Shillings do for the Kitui primary schools without books, desks, doors, windows, pit latrines, well water and an extra two acres of land for sports grounds?

How soon people forget whence they came.
"I grew up in a humble background, my family was not wealthy and my father used to send me to a school five miles away from home so that I could have access to a better education at the time, without which I would never have joined the UoN nor would I be here talking to you as a former successful lawyer and a minister of foreign affairs."

Guess that's what is meant by, "the country is moving forward in accordance with Vision 2030, and we are right on track" - Kalonzo Musyoka.

When the court recently ordered that Samuel Kamau Macharia’s vast estate to be placed under receivership and appointed a government official as trustee of his assets and liabilities, the whole country was stunned.

The orders by Lady Justice Martha Koome followed a successful bankruptcy petition filed by Mr Livingstone Waithaka, managing director of Ocean Freight Transporters Company Limited.

Mr Macharia, the owner of Royal Media Services – which owns Citizen TV and radio and a number of vernacular radio stations – was sued with his wife Purity Gathoni Githae for failure to pay Mr Waithaka Sh500,000 arising from a judgement by Lady Justice Kalpana Rawal in 2001.

According to commercial court judge, Martha Koome, the debtors failed to settle the amount despite bankruptcy notices having been issued to them.

    Judgement

“They were served with bankruptcy notices and persisted in their refusal to settle the claim,” explained the judge. The court said the matter only required payment of the petitioner’s deposit of Sh500,000, when it was demanded after the debtors failed to proceed with the sale of the plot as initially agreed.

The money attracted a compounded interest at the rate of 19 per cent per month and was backdated to December 1986. At the time of filing the bankruptcy proceedings two years ago, the debt had reached Sh34.9 million. The two have since moved to prevent the bankruptcy order by filing an application seeking to set aside the court ruling.

But Mr Macharia’s case is not unique. In today’s economy, many people are forced to consider debt as a solution to their financial difficulties. The majority of people live in fear of losing everything they worked so hard to acquire, and the reality of their fears coming true is a distinct possibility.

  31. Will the Prime Minister, President and Parliament outlaw 'BES' when and if it makes inroads into the growing Kenyan Market?

Where is the world of women's plastic surgery heading to?

Africans have always been called "primitive, backward, uneducated, uncouth, uncivilized, unchurched" et al due to the fact that they keep allowing FGM to take place in their communities.

So, what shall we call those who practice BES (Butt*ck Enhancement Surgery) or as I would like to call it, FBM (Female Butt*ck Mutilation) in the western hemisphere?

An unfortunate African woman managed to escape from FMG in her ancestral village on the African continent, only to land in the bossom (jaws) of BES (Butt*ck Enhancement Surgery) on the American continent.

While our women in the villages of Africa are still busy grappling with the traditional beast of FGM, their counterparts in the western hemisphere are willingly embracing a popular monster called BES (Butt*ck Enhancement Surgery).

What's better known as HEP ("Hip Enhancement Procedure") or what Shangazi Utakiona from Ghanjoni, Mombasa, Kenya, calls KJK ("Kupigua Jeki Kinondoni.")

It's not a laughing matter because so many women of substance, women of influence and women of independent means in Europe, Latin America, Asia, Australia and North America have been injured while others are dying from botched butt*ck enhancement surgery or butt*ck implant operation related complications.

Gone are they days from the 1800s and 1900s when women of African decent were caricatured as having big lips, big brea*ts, big bottoms, big eyelids, big eyebrows and so forth etc.

Now the liberated women of the commercialized world are dying to have their bodied curved into one time despised caricature at a very huge price.

Hold your dray horses for second. Are we forgetting the obvious, that the usual culprits are always: BMI, BWH, FD (fat distribution) or FP (fat percentage).

Oh yeah! Blaming the Black man for being in praise and awe of inflections points, the elementary geometric shapes and the valuptuousity?

Human beings and their cultures have perennially focused attention on the female body as source of asthetic pleasure, sexual attraction, fertility, and reproduction.

Female body shape is the cumulative product of a woman's skeletal structure (her build) and the quantity and distribution of muscle and fat on the body.

Each society develops a general perception of what an ideal female body shape would be like.

The ideal or preferred female body size and shape has varied over time and continues to vary among cultures.

There are, and have been, wide differences on what should be considered an ideal or preferred body shape, both for attractiveness and health reasons.

These have varied among cultures simultaneously.

As with most physical traits, there is a wide range of normality of female body shapes.

The female body shape occurs in a range of shapes.

The female figure is typically narrower at the waist than at the bust and hips, and usually has one of the four basic shapes: banana, pear, apple or hourglass
