Kibaki Suspends Ruto in Debut Mashujaa Jab

After king size bravado and chest thumbing, Ruto has fallen on his own sword. And something had to give way after Ruto categorically stated he was not resigning as if he was his own boss. Well, he will soon discover how devastatingly cold it is out there. Let the blame game start in earnest.

A short time ago President Moi Kibaki moved yet another step closer to officially going into the history books as the president who re-engineered his legacy by suspending from Cabinet higher education minister William Ruto. The higher education minister is facing criminal prosecution charges over an ongoing court case where he has been accused of fraudulently receiving 96 million Kenyan shillings concerning the irregular sale of a piece of land

This is the first time during his two 5-year tenure where the President has been seen to take early decisive action to tackle corruption in his administration head on by requiring individuals named in ongoing graft proceedings to step aside from active duty. Kenyans who know the president are well aware of the fact that he is slow to make decisions, which has proven to be a liability in his defence by his allies against his critics who blame his indecisiveness for many of the countries current and past woes

On the other hand it is known that the higher education cabinet minister Ruto has more than 9 lives and even as the drama continues to unfold Kenyans are watching to see whether his temporary suspension from his ministry is the precursor to more ominous tidings for the ODM Eldoret North member of parliament.

Granted, Ruto is no political novice but now he has to swallow the huge chunk he bit with the hope meat won't fatally choke him. Who knows, maybe this is the reality check he needed to measure his punches and never aim past his weight. Once deserted by the press he will soon find his own political equilibrium.

A consistent Kibaki would follow this up by hanging out Foreign Affairs Minister Moses Wetangula to dry following the Tokyo land fiasco. But that would be asking too much from the President. At least he shown his claws and he won't go all the way to use his fangs.

  3. Ruto TECHNICALLY lost his Cabinet position last Friday after the constitutional court ruled that he would face criminal prosecution over a Sh272 million fraud case.

WETANGULA WILL morally LOSE SEAT AT THIS STAGE!

  5. Atlast the chickens are coming home to roast. There is bravery and cutting a niche' for oneself to competitive politics. However there's also an element of abstract naivety in the guise of clothed as ambition. Ruto spared no opportunity to demonize Raila Odinga & incite his Kalenjin tribesmen against him. The level of his insurbodination to the ODM leader been wanting, not withstanding that he nominated him to the cabinet. Ruto himself once said that "you don't cross homes when a leopard is still in the nearby bush"
Him & his bunch of a dozen or so MPs just did that. They dined & wined the enemy; took all instructions to discredit & destroy one RAO & the party ODM. The Kalonzos & Uhurus knew where their bread is buttered & tightly refrained from anything that hurts PNU & Kibaki. On the other hand they rejoiced and cheerd as Ruto launched "scotched- earth" assault on Prime Minister & ODM. Ruto neither has any reserved nor a definate promise at PNU. They simply used him as loose cannon for hire to aim at ODM; The very party that elavated him & accorded him all the national priviledge he's enjoying. Ruto & disciples have no plan B even as they repeatedly destabilize their home party ODM. They don't have genuine friends or admirers on the other side. They only shared mutual desire to take a dig on RAO.
Me think that Ruto losed golden opportunity after referendum to make amend with RAO & ODM. Yes he had thoroughly floored the PM by galvanizing entire tribe behind his NO crusade. Yes he had made his point clear to the party. All he needed was to be magnanimous in victory & extend an olive branch to his "defeated boss". In other word he should have done a Margaret Wanjiru & reclaim his place in party ranks & destiny. He could have reserved some of his political capital. But then pride overtook Samoei Ruto. He continued to chest-thump & stampede on every humility & accomodation offered to him by Raila Odinga. You don't have your cake and eat it; This time RAO/ODM has left him to fall on his own sword
The Gema clicque were never going to give a damn to Ruto. He was simply a spent force.
Tonight's suspension leaves Ruto very exposed with neither place to call home (politically). Kalonzo the opportunist will just be shading crocodile tears at Ruto's tribulation. Infact he prays that Hague can follow suit on Ruto/Uhuru so that he inherits the sympathy/pitty votes from both central & RV.
Ruto might have schooled in Moi's school of politics but he needs a real masters degree to chart rebellion politics. He is after all ot equal to RAO as he imagine, never!
Him, Isack Ruto, Keter, Kilimo & the likes have several times ridiculed RAO as mere "Nyapara" who has no appointing/firing authority. I hope they maintain similar line today & look elsewhere on who fired their Orkoiyot aka Kirgit Samoei. Don't dare scape-goat his tribulations on RAO

  6. @ anon 11:42 doesn't Ruto get any blame for leaving enough of a paper trail to have himself charged in a court of law? Let's not forget Raila tried to suspend Ruto before & failed miserably. Recently Karua tried to bring the matter up in parliament but Raila covered for Ruto as he was yet to be charged. Now that Ruto's self proclaimed "appointing authority" who gave him a get out of jail card before has decisively spoken, how exactly does the blame go to Raila? Let Ruto carry his own cross. If he is clean he will be reappointed.

I have always said Rao will never be Kenyan presi. and the next president of Kenya will be from Gema. Ruto politic career will be a sad end. Like all his predecessor Eldoret north MPs: Saina(imprison for stealing car tyres) Serone(mysterious death) chelagat(detention, had escape to Tanzania) chesire.(Mois puppet)

  10. I see nothing sad about Ruto's political demise although writing him off now may still be premature. For the new constitution to work we need a big broom to sweep out the majority of the current political class from both sides of the divide. Anything less & the quotation below will continue to haunt us as a nation.

Mchimba shimo hutumbukia mwenyewe. Abomoaye ukuta huumwa na nyoka. Mchonga mawe huumizwa nayo. Mkata kuni hukabiliwa na hatari.

One doesn't sell his compatriots, colleagues or peers in order to buy his future. Anybody who engages in the afore mentioned shenanigans lacks integrity, courage, guts, vision and political maturity.

William Ruto had convinced himself that he was invincible, untouchable and the one and only power broker who holds the political pulse of the whole Rift Valley in the palm of his left hand.

The palm of his political hand must be itching a lot now that he is on suspension.

What was he thinking in the first place? That's if he had any thing to do with KSh272 million fraud case.

Time will tell whether he has finally fallen on his spear when he lest expected it. Or whether he just tripped on neighbour's walking stick.

The suspension may turn out to be a real blessing in disguise for William Ruto, if he uses the opportunity to strategize for 2012 as well as allow the time away from cabinet circles to provide him adequate time to mobilise and plot for his next big political move once the dust has settled.

Moses Wetangula is next, and he must be suspended as well. There is not ifs or buts until his name is cleared.

Let's hope that they will all carry their own political crosses without invoking or appealing for the usual tribal cards.

Did William Ruto see it coming in the same way Moses Wetangula got wind of it and immediately resorted to deploying his supporters into the streets?

Or was he blinded sighted by wise man Mzee Mwai Kibaki.

I beg to look at it from a different perspective. From 2012,politicians will no longer be ministers.Knowing what Ruto is capable of,doesnt this give him a headstart on how to be an influential politician without being in the cabinet.Karua is still very much visible despite months of not being a minister.I dont think Ruto is the kind of politician to sit down and mourn(cry as in your photo) his loss.

  18. Whichever way we choose to look at William Ruto's temporary suspension, there is more that needs to be done in order to curb widespread corruption in high places.

There are other cabinet ministers, ambassadors, senior civil servants (senior military, police, prisons officers), businessmen and women and well known individuals who are heavily in corruption, grabbing of public land (which still continues in 2010), demanding of kick-backs on contracts awarded by the government, importation of sub-standard consumption goods, et al.

Another eye sore is the constant abuse of power, especially the use of official positions to gain unfair advantage over their competitors as well as the rest of the public.

The president needs to take immediate action against those responsible and real justice - not just the so called temporary cosmetic suspension Kimunya sttyle - must be seen to be carried out without favouritism or any political fears.

Forced resignations should be one option that should become a wave of the future if we need to take the anti-corruption war as well as the 2010 Constitution seriously.

There are so many selfish, dishonest and in-every-way-despicable politicians and senior civil servants who have love to build up an ethnic-fancy concerning their so called value to the republic as champions of democracy, enemies of corruption, and as being above dirty ethnic-politics, and unfortunately a great number of honest but immature voters accept the fancy as a fact and keep re-electing the same faces.

With each instance of such political immaturity, the country or part of it, ends up suffering due to lack of proper/mature representation.

There is no political immaturity - call it blindness if you will - that we pay for so dearly as this.

It ends up being very expensive on a personal level, community level and national level - under the category "perennial underdevelopment."

  19. Ruto was in class and it appears he had to learn his lesson practically. I just wonder how blind politicians who associate with Raila can be. Ruto, during their Pentagonistic moments before the 2007 polls, viewed the mammoth crowds that mobbed them to be equally supporting all the Pentagonists, if I can use this term to describe the five.

he failed to understand that you can turn to be popular overnight just when you associate yourself to Raila. Truth be told, Raila has a fanatic following and a politician can have the illusion that every leader within a Raila rally is equally loved. But no.

When you now turn to combat Raila politically, you are the one who loose. Many have done it: Balala, Tuju, Saitoti and even Kalonzo-they have all failed.

So Ruto is just in class hopefully he'll take his tests come 2012. Call me whatever you like but it's true(according to me) that, of all the current politicians decorating the political scape, it is Raila we can bank on to give us the vision we need in leadership.

"The president needs to take immediate action against those responsible and real justice - not just the so called temporary cosmetic suspension Kimunya sttyle - must be seen to be carried out without favouritism or any political fears."

My take: It would be very unrealist to expect this of Kibaki when he himself has been a very major beneficiary of these vices of corruption, patronage, looting and electoral fraud. A thief can not be expected to provide security of any kind.

  23. Not excited at all because I know Ruto and his alleged corruption isn't among the main threats facing this country. Even if it were, his exit/suspension doesn't alter corruption networks or systems in any significant manner.

You say history is repeating itself, where was Jaramogi's victory stolen if indeed Raila's history is shadow-copy of his father's? In any case, the history you talk about was almost changed by Raila in 2007 before shameless but seriously stupid politicians decided to forcefully rig the elections.

  30. Mzalendo Kibunja must audit all public institutions

By Miguna Miguna, October 15, 2010

Apparently, the National Cohesion and Integration Commission is about to release a report of its “investigations” of tribalism, nepotism and discrimination in public institutions. It is long overdue. It might allow us to properly gauge the competence, integrity and professionalism of the institution charged with the onerous responsibility of building national cohesion and integration.

If based on solid and credible evidence; its recommendations far-reaching; and the government takes immediate steps to address them; then Kenyans would be happy. Public exposure and shaming are necessary conditions for redress. Exposure is the most effective anti-bacterial deodorant for impunity.

We have an unenviable record as a country where no report by a judicial, parliamentary or international inquiry has been fully implemented. As a result, Kenyans have become a skeptical lot. They aren’t impressed by mere declarations; they will not accept any window-dressings, side shows or deceptions.

In this country, perpetrators of grand corruption and theft of public resources have been rewarded through elections or public appointments.

Criminal suspects and violators of human rights have been appointed superintendents of institutions of good governance. People that ordinary Kenyans know lack integrity are occupying positions of high esteem, even in the judiciary and oversight bodies. This is not cynicism; it is reality.

Kenya resembles what the great South American liberator and statesman, Simon Bolivar, eloquently stated in a speech at the opening of the Second National Congress of Venezuela on February 15, 1819:

"We have been governed more by deception than by force, and we have been degraded more by vice than by superstition. Slavery is the offspring of Darkness; an ignorant people is a blind tool turned to its own destruction; ambition and intrigue exploit the credulity and inexperience of men foreign to all political, economical or civil knowledge; mere illusions are accepted as reality, license is taken for liberty, treachery for patriotism, revenge for justice…"

That was more than one and a half centuries ago. Yet, that is where Kenya is today. From colonialism to now, we have been “ruled” – not governed – through an admixture of deception and brute force. Our collective ignorance has been exploited by greedy and immoral rulers to our detriment.

Occasionally, the rulers lift the lid of oppression and we mistake that for freedom and liberty. Whenever something happens and the people demand accountability, “investigations” are announced and the people promised that “no stone shall remain unturned.”

That was the promise when Pio Ghama Pinto, Tom Mboya, JM Kariuki, Argwings Kodhek, Dr. Robert Ouko, Dr. Odhiambo Mbai, Father Kaiser, Bishop Alexander Muge, the Oscar Foundation activists and other great Kenyan patriots had been assassinated. The same stones were supposed to be “overturned” and everything beneath forensically “examined” when Kenyans were ripped off through Goldenberg, Anglo Leasing and other economic scandals.

Similar promises were made to Kenyans after the Standard media was raided; after the Artur Brothers invaded our country; and recently, after the illegal editing of the proposed constitution and the grenade attack at the Uhuru Park. Should I continue?

Kenyans are aware of how deeply institutionalized corruption, tribalism, nepotism and discrimination are in this country. These ills afflict virtually all public institutions, starting from the very top. They have persisted since independence.

The inequities in socio-economic development between communities and regions can be traced directly to these three problems. Consequently, we know that the release of mere reports will not solve them. Nor will they disappear because of the pomposity of our declarations.

It is impossible to disagree with this statement and that of Bolivar.

Having noted this, we may only beg to add a few words of Paine. He wrote this:

"Excess and inequality of TAXATION, however DISGUISED in the means, never fail to appear in THEIR EFFECTS. As a great mass of the community are thrown thereby into poverty and DISCONTENT, they are constantly on the brink of COMMOTION; and deprived, as they unfortunately are, of the MEANS OF INFORMATION, are easily HEATED TO OUTRAGE.

Whatever the apparent CAUSE of any RIOTS may be, the real one is ALWAYS want of happiness. It shows that SOMETHING IS WRONG in the SYSTEM OF GOVERNMENT, that injures the felicity by which society is to be PRESERVED."

That being the case, the so called Cohesion body is another useless body for snatching meager earnings of Wanjiru to feed the useless elite.

The problem is the not the Kenyan people, it is the state which is constituted as an affront to natural organisation of society.

Man has never been the enemy of man. He is made so through the medium of a FALSE SYSTEM of government.

We say this because we fully concur with Paine that, there is a DEFECT in the way we constitute our government.

To remedy that defect was and should have been the SOLE objective of the new constitution.

However, instead of being inspired by such a noble cause and spirit, it became in words of Paine once again, "songs and toasts which are calculated to enslave, and operate to suffocate reflection."

Unfortunately, Miguna is part of the new scheme to enslave Kenyans and suffocate reflection.

This is an undeniable fact and we do ourselves a disservice by refusing to candidly state and deal with it. It is also unacceptable. The Constitution guarantees all Kenyans equal opportunity for employment. Kenyans from all corners have qualified people for all public jobs.

There can be no national cohesion and integration when in major ministries such as finance, internal security and energy; the minister, the permanent secretary, secretaries, deputy secretaries and directors come from one community.

Kenyans know that more than 60% of the permanent secretaries and heads of state corporations, the Director General of the NSIS, the Police Commissioner, the AP Commandant, the CID Director, the Anti-Terrorist Police Chief, the head of the VIP Protection Unit, the Director of Operations, the Anti-Stock Theft Unit Commander, the Police Spokesman and the top military brass all come from the same region. This is a recipe for tragedy.

That’s why we are waiting for Kibunja’s report with both anxiety and trepidation. If professionally researched and honestly written, it could constitute a significant first step towards achieving justice. Liberty, says Rousseau, is a succulent food, but difficult to digest. The truth, however, is a bitter pill; difficult to swallow but easy to digest.

  38. PART TWO...

The inequities in socio-economic development between communities and regions can be traced directly to these three problems. Consequently, we know that the release of mere reports will not solve them. Nor will they disappear because of the pomposity of our declarations.

A careful look at the senior staff at the Cabinet Office, regular police, administration police, the military, national security intelligence service and ministries of finance, internal security, energy, trade, transport, communications, justice, education, defence – name it – read like an ethnic directory from one region!

  39. National cohesion and integration is a must for any emerging democracy.

As long as folks like Miguna Miguna and company do not habour any expectations whatsoever of crafting hidden plans for future replacement of the current list of names that read like an ethnic directory from one region with another list of names (future appointments) that will only end up reading like an ethnic directory from another region.

Such a replacement will not only be very unfair but it will also be unwelcome by many Kenyans due to the fact that double jeopardy - "Our Time to Eat Clause" - will be inflicted on Kenyans at large for a fourth time.

One sort of perceived ethnic tyranny - domination - should not be replaced by another equivalent ethnic tyranny - domination.

As in different faces but same old, same old systems that have deeply institutionalized corruption, tribalism, nepotism and - overt - discrimination embedded in their underbelly.

Lest we forget the fifty year old endemic government culture of overt gross marginalization of several ethnicities and other well known regions of Kenya.

BTW, Kenya's biggest threat to political maturity, cohesion and stability will not come from "negative-tribalism" but from individuals - nationwide - who grow up without ever outgrowing their hostile aggressiveness that the only real danger of our time will be man's inhumanity to man as was the case during mayhem of December '07 and January '08.

Do for your country - Kenya - what you would like to see others do for it at all cost in the name of ongoing progress and lasting peace.

  43. U fools, Ruto just stepped aside and will be back after "cleansing rituals" by the corrupt and inefficient judiciary! Madame Sambili is just warming the seat for her fellow tribesman while the stench fades away and gullible, hapless Kenyans forget (they always do!). That's a time tested formula by this thoroughly corrupt govt. Kibaki can't discard Ruto for good knowing he really needs this thug for his support in 2012 preferred presidential candidate and succession battles. Don't you remember even George Kinuthia Muthengi AKA Saitoti was cleansed by the judiciary over Goldenberg? The more things change, the more they remain the same! sorry but in Kenya, nothing is so straight forward. They will even lie to you when they really want to tell the truth.

    ReplyDelete
  44. Ruto will be reinstated at a later date purely for the simple reason he's got the Kaleos by the balls to follow him even to hell. Only Ocampo will save us from Arap Ruto! And on that note, OCAMBO will not disappoint!

  45. Thank you KIBAKI for appointing your kinsmen to all positions of power, let them "eat".

Come 2012, we shall await and slaughter them like chicken. We dare Kibaki to jail Kirgit and lets see how his kinsmen will survive the "warriors" onslaught.

Bring on Mungiki or whatever KIRGIT shall be proven INNOCENT and we shall still NOT support GEMA who stole our ancestral land in RV.

    Bring it on Emilio Kibaki.

We need these GEMA thieves in jail NOW!

    Warriors arm yourselves.

  48. GEMA leadership should know better that our warrior king RUTO will NOT play ball.

Suppose Ruto "agrees" to back KKK so that an "amicable" judgement can be reached in his favour.

What will STOP our warrior king from reneging against the alliance and still go for the presidency? Those who think Ocampo will ship Kirgit to the Hague are in for a shock.

Ruto is going for presidency in 2012, he will be acquitted of all charges and he will not back Kaloozer in KKK.

    The Oracle has spoken

    ReplyDelete
  49. You mean kalenjins still have warrior kings in 2010? Reliving the glory days of the 19th century will get you nowhere, oh great oracle. Times have changed so stop fighting the iron snake.

    ReplyDelete
  50. Many Kenyans are such pathetic and ignorant fools! Now they are already writting Ruto's obituary forgetting that for as long as millions of Kalenjins are behind him to a man, Ruto does not need to be a Minister! He will still remain a powerful player precisely because power derives from the people who support you, NOT from Ministerial flags!
Out of 31 Kalenjin MPs, at least 21 are Ruto's men in Bunge, meaning that he can influence debates decisively, and especially now when the new Katiba needs implementation.
Also, Ruto delivered 1.3 million Kalenjin votes of the 2.7 million NO votes in the recent referendum; does that sound like a political toddler? Ruto commands the second largest bloc after GEMA of REGISTERED voters, a bloc that will decide the next President, and Raila has arrogantly just pocked their nose, including publicly calling Ruto a 'Ngamia'. He will live to regret those words as Kalenjin NEVER forget. Kweli Jaluo ni jinga sana.
Oracle, if Ruto decides to support Uhuru, he will do so with or without your support. So if you want to disagree with him, speak for yourself, NOT for Kalenjins.
Where Ruto goes, Kalenjins will follow, and if being powerful NO 2 in the next Govt is the price for supporting GEMA, so be it. Going back to ODM is out of the question, and there are only 2 choices for Kalenjin in 2012: work with GEMA, or surrender and make a humiliating return to Raila and ODM; that can never be a choice for proud warriors.

    ReplyDelete
  51. If the Rift Valley MPs really want to help Ruto, why don't they ask him not to engage in dirty deals in the first place? He will go nowhere come 2012 with these scandals trailing him no matter how these MPs shout.

We are NOT going to sleep with the enemy GEMA, NEVER!!!! When Kenyatta went to the colonial office in 1939 and in return the Kikuyus got Naivasha and Nakuru.

Let me just say this, if Kikuyus remember 1991 were 250,000 displaced and 2007 over 500,000 let them wait for 2012 and lets see how many of their kinsmen will be displaced.

From the Art of War...." It is a matter of life and death, a road either to safety or ruin. Hence it is a subject of inquiry which can on no account be neglected"

We stand by Ruto and sleeping with GEMA is NOT an Option.

  53. In my opinion this is a good start and as Kenyans we should demand such on a daily basis.

We should create a list of every LEADER or ADMINISTRATOR in all sections of the country and do a background check on them, more-so in if they had fraudulent deals and how they escaped justice and push it in their faces.

I think we will need a website and old newspaper links for this.

Especially all Mps without fear or favor

  54. Poor oracle. You believe that your entire community voting "to a man" is a sign of strength? Only lemmings willingly follow their leader over the cliff to their death. Any community that votes en masse in that manner is proof positive of a people who lack the moral courage to THINK independently. Maybe the education too.

All the best in your 2012 plans for mayhem but I believe the rest of Kenya & the international community is awake to the fact that there's a problem in the former RVP. Is it any wonder that Ruto's suspension came on the same day ICC sleuths were scouring the sleepy town of eldoret? Violence is the tool of those who lack clarity of thought & focus to secure their objectives in legitimate ways. 24 years of easy money & crooked deals is a tough habit to break I suppose. Let ruto join his namesake Isaac in the backbench for sometime. He might just learn that humility is a boon.

  56. Oracle your people's lives are not at stake just because one of your MPs has suffered a minor political setback. If indeed he has the proverbial 9 lives he will bounce back.

However, advocating violence for any small political slight is a mindset you need to exorcise from your bag of tricks. Think out of the box for a change. If you don't like the union, why not cecede from the rest of the country after a peaceful referendum to that effect? Just a suggestion. Afterall you have an airport & even a bullet factory. Make a go of "true" independence if you see fit to do so. Just don't block the roads & railways.

True all communities have their warlord or spokesman. Usually a monied fellow who can afford to curry favour with the media as well as buy off a chunk of his electorate. However if you look beyond GEMA, RVP & Luo Nyanza you will find that most communities vote either 50-50 or 60-40. In short, you find real democracy. "Lemmingism" is the luxury of the larger voting blocs. Your more than welcome to continue voting as you've always done, en masse. My beef with you is when you decide to pursue a scorched earth policy to make little political gains.

Oracle you are an idiot. I hope you and Ruto will be in the forefront of the fighting and not hiding behind high fences and using naive youth. I dont deny that there have been historical injustices with regards to land in RV, but there are other ways of addressing them other than killing and maiming the innocent. You claim that your land has been stolen while some of your leaders are talking of making a pact with the son of the guy who stole your land and brought kikuyus to RV. And Moi, isnt he one of you? Gow many acres does he own? Wht doesnt he donate some to the landless of the RV?

It is every man for himself up there, and then they use idiots like you to fight their fight. They do not care about your sorry asses and your historical injustices, they just want to be in power so that they can protect their ill-gotten wealth, by any means necessary. And idiots like you a cyber warrior, comes here baying for blood and wanting to pull Kenyans 50 years bacjwards again like in 2007. Kalenjins and Kenyans at large should wake up. How much did you stupid oracle get from Ruto's sale of Ngong Forest? Nada! In fact you lost because the forest belongs to ALL Kenyans including you and Kenya Pipeline belongs to ALL Kenyans including you.

So instead of playing the warrior here use your head, spewing hatred and supporting people who steal from you is the stupidest one can get. However hard I try I cannot understand how such people like you think. Look at Luhyas now, Wetangula is feeling the heat and the only people I see supporting him is a bunch of paid idiots in the streets of Bungoma. In cyberspace everybody Luhya or not, is saying alikula mwenyewe alipe mwenyewe. The whole tribe did not steal, and the whole tribe is not being investigated, it is ONE person. Leaders will come and go, warriors will come and go, but Kenya will always be there. You will be buried in a 2 by 6 hole after a few decadeswith no land, no money no nothing. So make the best of your life instead of inciting hatred and violence.

Grow up! The games you are åöaying here might be amusing you but most Kenyans do not want to ever see PEV again. We are tired of being undeveloped, tired of being the laughing stock of the world because of idiots like you and your ilk. Fortunately more and more Kenyans are leaving tis tribal mentality. I even see Luos critisizing Raila! Especially due to his direct nominations in elections. So you are a dying breed. Change your ways and join the 21st century. Land now is on a willing buyer willing seller. If you have issues with past injustices organise yourselves and go to court like the Ogiek did.

  68. @8:25 PM

Ati Lamu was a "kingdom"? Whose kingdom do you think it was?

Of course Lamu was an established kingdom before legions of "marauding outsiders" from the Batumbula from Indonesian islands, Arab peninsula, Persia, Chinese, Turkey, Portugal, Oman, Yemen, British, Bulushi, Italians, Germans etc. came along for all the wrong reasons.

Lamu's economy was solely based on SLAVE TRADE from the 8th century until abolition in the year 1907.

Sadly, there shippingg as well as trading records in Oman and Saudia which clearly indicate that slave trade of "natives" (Africans from the hinterlands of Kenya) continued on throughout the 1920s, 30s and 40s.

The evil trade of human cargo was carried out by merchants of death ("wanamaafa") abetted by the "noble residents" of Lamu.

It's only after the Second World War (WWII) that the tide of slave trade was brought to end.

Believe it or not, it was a well known fact that Kenyans were still being sold into slavery as recently as the 1940s and early 1950s.

So the question is, how many Kenyans ("Africans") did the slave traders ship away between the 9th and 1907?

And how many innocent lives have been destroyed so that the islands of Lamu, Mombasa, and Malindi could continue to thrive and propser throughout the centuries?

And BTW, the original inhabitants of Lamu, Malindi, Mombasa, Mafia, Pate, Zanzibar and the East African coast were welcomed the marauding outsiders only to be killed or captured and sent into slavery.

Now, who do you think you are? Who are you really? What's your true ancestry?

How many local African women had to be used as breeders by their masters as vessel to bring forth progenies that still walk streets of Lamu, Malindi and Mombasa in 2010?

Are you still aware of the infamous historical fact that Lamu was one of the major lucrative ports on the coast of East Africa that supplied the "new world" with millions and millions of slaves, captured Kenyans from the hinterlands?

    ReplyDelete
  69. Have to agree with anon 7:45. The kalenjin are able to organize themselves to vote as a bloc. They also have the dubious distinction of being able to organize (mobilize) their "warriors" to settle past injustices regarding land through terror & mayhem. Why they can't organize & go to court like the Ogiek or better yet organize & buy back the land as GEMA folk did back in the day is only known to them. They could borrow the millions required for land purchase from the billions looted by their leaders in the 24 year moi "error".

In my view the best kind of blood letting is of the political kind as just enjoyed by ruto. He was very subdued yesterday, for a change, when talking about "bearing his cross". Next on the political chopping block, one Moses Wetangula. Impunity's gotta go.

Oracle, gone are the days when your leaders could use state machinery to illegaly import state of the art bows & arrows from korea to fight 19th century style battles (which you always lost & then quickly sued for peace). I could put on my orkoiyot monkey suit & predict that if you continue to pursue violent means to achieve political ends, not only will you have the dubious distinction of providing the first Kenyan leader to be hauled off to ICC, but you will also eventually have blue helmeted UN troops from pakistan patrolling your lush hills & valleys to maintain law & order. It's so much easier to get with the program & join the rest of us in peaceful coexistence & nation building in the 21st century.

We can see how the Kikuyu elites have sought to divide the "PORK Plate" just to secure their own dominance.

Kenyan politics is held together both at the national level of competition between ethnic subnationalities and in the districts by a complex series of interlinking patron-client relationships.

Kikuyus became independent Kenya's first national "capitalists" through Jomo Senior, and Kenya has undergone through so much injustice under Kikuyu Leadership than any other.

So since 'rewards' are necessary in order to make the warriors see the advantage of beating the enemy out of Nakuru and Naivasha, my beef will never end.

  71. The Demise of Racist AWB Warriors of Afrikanerdom

White extremists and Afrikaner fundamentalists remained very hostile after September 1993.

They included the Volsfront ("People's Front") led by General Constand Viljoen, which demanded a separate Afrikaner volkstaat (people's state).

The White extremists and Afrikaner fundamentalists didn't want to be part of the Government of Unity (GNU).

When the autocratic Lucas Mangope the puppet president of Bophuthatswana (a Bantustan) appealed to his allies in the Vlksfront for help to quash the strike by civil servants and police.

The Nazi-like AWB leader Eugene Terre'Blanche ordered the AWB members of his commando units to head to Bophuthatswana.

The AWB men, some 800 strong, came in farm trucks and cars with hunting rifles, shotguns and pistols, rampaging through, yelling racila abuse at locals and taking pot shots at people, killing and wounding.

    To Be Continued.

    ReplyDelete
  72. continued.

They so outraged the Bophuthatswana Defnse Force that it mutined, and its soldiers drove through the town shouting ANC slogans and firing on the AWB raiders.

Some of the AWB rabble lost their way and roared along, still shooting at bystanders, one car burst firing a police roadblock and was halted by police gunfire.

Two wounded men fell out the car onto the road, begging for medical help and mercy.

But, with TV cameras recording the event, a young Black policeman angrily screamed at them: "Who do you think you are? What are you doing in my country?" Minutes later, they were both shot dead.

For the White rightists, this was traumatic experience, shown nationwide on South African TV, had a cathartic impact and blew away the ancient myth that the White race (Boers), with its superior arms and training, could always dominate Blacks.

It also detroyed the folklore that Whites would always fight to the last to preserve their supremacy.

Here they had indeed fought and lost - their most fanatical militarists actually gunned down by a Black, live on television.

The rest is ancient history. It's only fools who will always think that they are superior to the rest of the world around them.

  73. Oracle, you are a pathetic, uneducated ar.se.hole. Kwanza Naivasha and Nakuru were never Kalenjin but Maasai lands, so you have no claims on it. Secondly, facts on the ground are that both places are of Kikuyu majority, so you can cry till the cows come home because there is nothing you can do about it. You want war, we are ready for you this time, ghasia hii, and the war will be fought with bullets and strategy until you style up or are wiped out.
The first thing GEMA will do is cut off all electricity to Western Kenya since all hydro dams are in Central Kenya. You are free to overload Turkwell. We will then shut down the oil pipeline and block the only highway to your area. Next is a no fly zone to any Western airports. GEMA controls the Air force remember that.
We can then sit pretty and watch the life slowly squeezed out of you. It will take time, but by that time the 'kimnadho' in your Adams apple should have receded enough to stop interfering with your misfiring brain, ku.ma.mako wewe.

  75. @ Anon 6.42 a.m please spare me your cyber wars with the "aforementioned" troop of monkey names and who is Mwarang'ethe in the first place????

I have no beef with Mwarang'ethe but the Kikuyu elite who think that Kenya is theirs for the taking.

The abilities of the Kenyatta led Kiambu Kikuyu elite to reward their followers bolstered their domestic constituency, but in the long term it posed a threat to Kenya's future political stablity since it had been secured at the expense of other communities.

The Kalenjin voices at the grassroots are totally drowned out just like Jean Marie Seroney had predicted and we shall now have a VOICE, so GEMA be warned.

And for those who say that the Airforce "belongs" to GEMA should do their homework. Just because Lt. Gen. Julius Karangi heads the outfit does not give you "ownership".

Please check and do your homework and see who are the majority in the infantry and Ordance wings of the Airforce? Whats their number?

Do you remember the " Emergency Defence Comittee meeting in Feb 2008" when Karangi then a Major Gen. said he would blow up Eldoret because of the Kikuyu's being killed, what stopped him? How many fighter "pilots" actually respect him more than the commander of the KAF L-Brigade?

If you have the answers to that, then I will believe that you know how the military works, for know you know NOTHING!

The warriors are now armed and so we will be coming for you. Wait to shit in your house come 2012.

You seem to be very "un-educated" congrats ( or should I say Congratureshons).

Your war strategy is a tard bit tired.

    1. Cut Electricity to Western Kenya??? Bro you seem to be lost, and how will the electricity affect the warriors? Last time I checked Rural electrification is still ongoing.

    2. Oil Pipeline blockade? Are you kidding me!!! 60% of Kenya's Oil is consumed in Nairobi alone and that would affect us how???

    3. Declare western Airports a No fly zone?? Lol, boy oh boy are we still talking about RV.

"He who wishes to fight must first count the cost" if thats your strategy thats a STUPID haste in war. Your protracted operations are STUPID like you, but nothing more than an expenditure of energy.

Remember clever dilatoriness wins wars not scenes that you have watched and borrowed from Hollywood movies or is that all that the Mungiki brigade have? Bure Kabisa shonde ya ngamia.

Just to make you happy Lt. Gen. Karangi is poised to be the next CGS, but we have that in check. Plus he is over the mandatory retirement age, lets see how grandpa will fly them planes biatch!

Please do not question his cut and paste theories or he will come back posting as Anons in his defence/support.

    Hope that answers your question.

  80. Ruto is already throwing Jabs at Rao and indications are that a new political outfit is in the making as we slowly but steadily approach 2012.

Could the Green Revolution be it? UKs candidacy is drawing interesting and mixed reactions already. Kaloozer's early bid declaration seems to have run out of gas and steam - obviously a non-starter.

Rao/ UK and now Ruto seem to be making huge strides towards 2012. Could it be that a UK plus Ruto combination is more lethal than a Kalonzo/UK ticket?

Kalonzo must now approach the great wizards of Ukambani and hope that Ocampo carries Ruto away.

  81. He is our "sacred cow" in KK And resides in the diaspora (USA) an expert in LAND/TAX/BOB MARLEY/GOLD/ USELESS PAPER and several other fields.

    xxx

    Wewe wacha fitina.

Ati cut and paste theories? We give the KK readers a snap shot of what really matters and what may be news in the future.

Sample this. So as to protect themselves from the USA's USELESS PAPER called $$$, a number of nations with leaders WHO CAN THINK, and ACT, are moving to protect their people from this USELESS PAPER which is INFLATING land, stocks etc in 3rd world as it chases FREE LUNCH.

In other words, the USA, our "friend" is trying to export its depression to others.

"In Brazil, Guido Mantega, Brazil’s Finance Minister, imposed a 4% tax this month on any new capital inflows and again today raised the tax imposition to 6% to curb the vast amount of capital."

Thailand announced it would impose a 15% at-source tax on any interest derived from domestic bonds held by foreigners to discourage and slow down the continued capital inflow.

Let us visit the " Dark Continent" and see how they are "dealing" with this USELESS TISSUE PAPER in the name of money:

Inquiring and disturbed minds are reading this:

"South Africa is OPTING OUT of a global “currency war,” unable to halt a rally in the rand that has pushed the currency to its strongest in almost three years, DAMPING EXPORTS and adding to JOB LOSSES.

While Brazil, China, Turkey and other emerging markets have moved to weaken their currencies, South African central bank Governor Gill
Marcus says the country can’t afford to act more aggressively. Finance Minister Pravin Gordhan has called instead for a coordinated global response, a push that has FAILED to win traction among policy makers around the world."

There you are. Africa is open for PLUNDER and RAPE. While they are impoverishing Africans via covert economic/financial wars, they preach to us the problem is aids, corruption and the need for "ELECTIONS" in 2012.

    And, the sheeps buy it!

And, why not when we know the objective of our "education" to be this:

"We shall NOT TRY to make these people or any of their children into PHILOSOPHERS or MEN OF LEARNING or MEN OF SCIENCE.

We have not to raise up from among them authors, EDUCATORS, poets or men of letters. We shall not search for embryo great artists, painters, musicians, nor lawyers, doctors, preachers, politicians, statesmen, of whom we have ample supply.

The task we set before ourselves is very simple…we will organize children…and teach them to do in a perfect way the things their fathers and mothers are doing in an imperfect way."

You will get nowhere with arrows this time, and if you choose to use bullets, you will need constant supplies of them. Where will the bullets come from if the Eldoret factory is unable to function due to lack of electricity? Eti rural electrification has taken place? You mean connecting the electric poles to the grid which is controlled from Central Kenya power stations? What a bloody fool. If the electricity is switched off in Kiambere, Kindaruma and Masinga etc, mambo kwisha, nyang'au wewe! No stima countrywide.
Secondly, how will you transport your warriors without fuel? Will they walk and be supplied on foot? Punda wewe!
The Kalenjin in the army do not control the armouries, so where will your so called infantry get their weapons? Most Airforce Pilots are GEMA, and they will ensure no arms supplies get to any airports west of Nakuru.

Before I address one "Shonde ya Ngamia". I will pass my condolences to the 7 who have met their untimely demise.

Now to you "Shonde ya Ngamia" Anon 7.48 a.m

Whooooaa!! Hold on to your Matapiko Majimoto strategies, you asked:

(1). Where will the bullets come from if the Eldoret factory is unable to function due to lack of electricity? This is what I call "Kikuyu Syndrome" ignorance is bliss they say. If you have been keen on news you will realise that illegal arms in Kenya dont come from Eldoret.

    (2) Eti Rural electrification has taken place? Idiot!!! I said the project is ongoing, warriors live in the dark brother they are used to it.

(3)Secondly, how will you transport your warriors without fuel? Will they walk and be supplied on foot? He he ha ha ha you are still not serious.

Let me give out a 'small' secret.. In Salgaa the number one econ activity is in dealing in siphoned fuel and their are storage facilities east and west of the town and also dotted across the RV huh.

Like I asked you before, you still do NOT understand the constitution of the Armed Forces and you have not answered any of my questions, regarding the kenyan military.

The KAF have less than 200 Aircrafts ( Majority being Helicopters) and Only two Military Installations Moi Airbase ( Air transporation wing )and Laikipia ( Fighter base). If it comes to Military GEMA will not like the outcome.

Armories are controlled by GEMA??? Another Fallacy, let me not let the cat out of the bag. Lets leave the Military out of this - remember the question I asked you regarding Eldoret?

The Kalenjin have already won the arms race against the Kikuyu. The Luos, Luhyas and Kisii are also making great strides ( I may call them comrades in arms) Historically the Kalenjin have always kicked the Kikuyus ass, so get ready for more ass whooping.

A Practical warrior will not have non of your "yuppie warfare strategies" , your assumptions on war are all "hollywood".

Do you expect the Kalenjok to frame strategies at a critical time during war, you prepare well in advance.

You do not give your enemy ideas of your projects ( cut elec etc), because my plans will depend upon yours. You must be guided by the actions of the enemy in attempting to secure a favorable position in actual warfare.

There is a very wise man who said.." when able to attack, we must seem unable; when using our forces we must seem inactive; when we are near, we must make the enemy believe we are far away; when far away, we must make him believe we are near"

Shonde ya Ngamia my advice to you since you are a Novice of war - LET OTHERS DO THE DYING FOR YOU.

Even if you get guns, you still need bullets, millions of rounds to conduct effective war!

In my view, those barazas your wazees & "warriors" use to plot mayhem & eviction of the "madoadoa" in your "ancestral lands" & attacks on your neighboring communities to redraw boundaries could be used positively. Why not invite the Ruto's, Moi & sons, Biwot, Kulei & all other Kalenjin mafia players who have become super wealthy to provide your people with seed capital to set up companies to buy back land sold to "outsiders" at market rates? Give out loans to enable your people to buy back the stolen/sold land.

These tycoons owe you & your people that to get them started since you have been willing foot soldiers & unquestioning pawns in their power games since 1992. Moi's self fulfilling prophecies of chaos due to multiparty politics were engineered by him. Let him & his cronies foot the bill for legal & peaceful buyback schemes. You may afford to buy stolen property but it will never cease being an illegal purchase - how about I acquire your LAND illegally, and sell it back to you, as you also service the LOAN borrowed from the barons huh! You should just have STFU!!! - LET THE KK LAND EXPERT ASSIST.

Let me share with you a quote by Ernest B.

He aptly says ..."Politics is the art of looking for trouble, finding it whether it exists or not, diagnosing it incorrectly & applying the wrong remedy"

You have duly & correctly so, named Moi & cronies but you have forgotten the BIGGEST LAND THUG! In Kenya's history - JOMO KENYATTA!, others like Delamare, Brooke Bond, Davidson, Moi deserve a notable mention.

But just a reminder, history is very clear, the Kalenjin and Kikuyu do not see eye to eye. The "cosmetic" alliance to be, between GEMA and Ruto notwithstanding, will be just that COSMETIC. We are aware of the GEMA divide-and-rule-dictum.

We know GEMA chief Aristocrat - UK 'abandoned' Ruto during the referendum and ofcourse 'Kuku in Chief' Kalonzo, who thinks that he will use the Kalenjin as a springboard to his political ascendancy.

The requisite land reforms require a political solution just like Nakuru was a politicized settlement plus we credibly know that GEMA has no political will.

Plato correctly said: Those who are too smart to engage in politics are punished by being governed by those who are dumber.

If Ruto leads the Kalenjok to reclaim what is ours -we are prepared to follow him to the grave, if not, Kiboko yake iko.

He was VP & could've put a stop to it if he liked. Does his being a Kalenjin make it any less of a "land grab"? Like it or not these plots were bought inspite of a valiant effort by Seroney to protect Nandi interests.

A tiny portion of the $2 billion (KES 180 billion) looted by Moi's men would be better used in buyback schemes than languishing in offshore numbered accounts which can be easily frozen & thus lost to wazungu bankers. Your leaders past & present need not part with much of their "savings" to accomplish this. Investments in Mobitelea, Air Kenya & the like can easily finance RV's return to the decendants of the orkoiyots & they wouldn't feel the pinch.

Soon Otieno Kajuang will be running to hide behind the Luos just like Kimunyua successfully did.

Nonetheless my stand is that time has arrived where we need to understand our problems first, causes of these problems and then solutions to the problems, and not start with the leaders first, or tribe. Maybe, as someone said earlier, or as Mwarangethe normally says, we can go ahead and exterminate such leaders or tribe and still find that we still have those problems.

Suppose Ruto leads the Eldo County and steals 50millions. will you support him? Suppose Kirauti becomes Gov of Meru County and steal 1 Billion will Meru pple be proud of him?

Suppose Kajuang becomes Gov of Rachuonyo County and steals 200 millions will Luos smile at him?

Kumekucha Kenya! Kenya is more important than the tribes.

  117. @Philip,

Bw. Philip let me try and sort out your confusion. You are aware that the genesis of the land question begun with the colonial masters and further made worse by the subsequent Kenyatta and Moi regimes.

Now why do I blame Kikuyus/ Kenyatta??? Not to bore you with Kenyattas history - we all know he is THE BIGGEST LAND THUG! In Kenyas history and Kikuyus ( GEMA - Is simply an assembled Kikuyu political machinery to maintain the status quo -atrocities committed by their leadership which they support , the EMA are just sheep) for supporting the KIKUYU aristocrats.

Ruto's "cosmetic alliance" as I call it is for obvious reasons; POLITICAL SUPREMACY! You will agree with me that He is playing politics - Raila poses the biggest threat, and its easier to topple Uhuru and Kalonzo who on a one to one front cannot battle it out with Ruto - so why not blame Raila for all your woes to consolidate RV support, lest the Moi equation comes in.

So Rutos 'cosmetic alliance' is for his personal political gain, but it also provides an opportunity for the Kalenjin to ascend to power.

Philip, you have noted that we call ourselves "warriors" and we have a good reason why - we are not fools to give out our name like the Mungiki, Chinkororo, SLDF etc but we exist and we are also watching our leadership kinly (read Ruto) and shall deal with him if he betrays our cause - remember what gave rise to the 'Mungiki' menace.

The government is busy cracking down on proscribed sects, but I can assure you they will not catch up with us.

We have successfully adapted to almost every political climate, faced numerous difficulties and tough times, and yet we still come out on top. Our strategy departs from the status quo and resurrects subjugated knowledge and ways of being that were intentionally suppressed by the existing power structure.

Thats why I have been met with severe "intellectual attacks" from the likes of Bobby6killer - thinking that the Lembus info that he got from wikipedia is of any help and one Shonde ya Ngamia who has no iota of idea of the composition of the military spit, I only but pity them.

Those who have been following news know that the government lost the arms race long time ago, even when Michuki ordered a disarmament exercise in RV led by our "able" army they simply LOST! So the likes of 'Shonde ya Ngamia' who think that Electricity and Eldoret bullet factory will sustain the RV war are just but IDIOTS! Disillusioned with the KAF.

We all want to bring about a better Kenya, a Kenya that is more equitable, loving and full of joy. Yet, when we seek to redress contemporary conditions through transactional politics, we do so within the existing cultural norms.

On the Uhuru and Ruto "alliance" - Nothing concerns us more than for intelligent people to make decisions not on FACT but on illusions. This to us seems to be shortsighted even as it has the power to help some people in the moment.

Philip the FUNDAMENTAL issue remains to be land, for arguments sake we must revisit these issue so that we may learn from them and hopefully posterity will judge our activities.

I hope I have tried to make you understand why I hold this extreme ideological position.

What would you suggest as a solution that would create a lasting structure or set of habits that prevent such dangers from resurging years, decades or centuries later???.

The KK LAND expert is yet to offer any solutions which I hope wont be SUPERFICIAL to this deep-seated problem.
